Fast paced amazing read that you won't want to put down, I think that there should definitely be a follow-up to this book. Maybe Megan deserves a book too.

Emma and Grayson had an excellent first meeting. Chemistry, a connection, an accident, a disaster, and a missed opportunity. This book started out really well, and I had a lot of expectation going into it, based on the strength of the first part.
Unfortunately for me, it then fizzled. A lot happened. The attraction between Emma and Grayson was explored, the idea that he was her boss and really should be off limits was touched on. Trust, jealousy, passion, sex...all of it was there.
For me, this book was a lot of unrealized potential. A lot of parts that, with just a little more depth could have really worked. There were so many places where I found myself thinking "oh this could be interesting" and it went nowhere.
The problem is that it was all just touched on and then glossed over and the book moved on. It was, for lack of a better way to explain it, like getting the tasting menu at a restaurant. Just enough to know what dishes you want more of, but not enough for you to be full at the end of the selection.
It's a light read, and it is fun for what it is, but I am not able to really recommend this title.

I liked it a lot but, objectively, there are real problems in this romance.
The writing style isn’t great. No awful either. There’s just nothing special about it. It doesn’t hinder the experience though.
Grayson looked at first like the ultimate date, multiplying grand gestures and small touches, ever the romantic. But then, he remembers his commitment issues and tries to distance himself from Emma. Of course, it doesn’t work, and it looks like he has deeper feelings for her.
But he’s in such a complete denial that he himself belittle his motivations, and I was left feeling like he was an impostor. A fake. Little by little, he comes to terms with his feelings and he becomes more genuine. But it felt more like lust than love. The chemistry was there; the deep emotions, not so much.
Emma and Grayson’s backstories served only as justifications for some of the conflicts they faced, but they didn’t really bring depth to the characters. They weren’t more real, nor more compelling, after we learn why Grayson keeps his relationships casual, or why Emma is afraid to open her heart again.
And the characters around them didn’t really bring anything to the story. Emma’s friends are interchangeable; Grayson’s father is too much, caricatural; the women gravitating around Grayson have barely any purpose.
What is left is a hot romance with an alpha male who’s slowly getting in touch with his feelings and a sassy woman who should have more confidence in herself. Not the best most original story, but a quite enjoyable piece of read anyway.

This book is absolutely amazing. I loved it! Emma and Grayson are both adorable, and such a hot couple, chemistry between these two is just perfect. They're simply too good. :) It's a lighthearted and fun read, with great romance scenes, laugh-out-loud moments, and quite entertaining story line. This book is definitely a must read for romance lovers.
Emma is trying to get over her ex-boyfriend, someone she trusted and wanted to build a life with, but then he just broke her trust and her heart too. Now she has decided to never let anyone have power over her heart, because heartbreak isn't something she wants to experience again. So in order to move on, she is trying to find someone who will make her forget about her ex, without getting emotionally attached to him. That's how she meets Grayson, they hit it off right away. They are both attracted to each other, and she just knows that chemistry will be simply explosive between them.
Grayson is a rich playboy, he is used to women falling all over him, but Emma is different. He can feel it. Unfortunately, they turn out to be colleagues. He is her boss and he knows an office affair is a bad idea, but will he be able to resist this sweet girl? He thinks not. ;)
They're completely enamored with each other and there is no way they will be able to resist it. But will a relationship between a playboy and over-analyzer last for long or are they doomed to be broken hearted? Well, you'll have to read this book to find that out. ;) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

All I needed was a light book but this one was so not my cuppa. I didn't enjoy it even one bit...

Embarrassed, feeling like I've been put on the spot, I fiddle with the rose in my hand. "Life isn't like the romance books. It doesn't all end in a fairy tale."
I think it's safe to say that My Hot Boss is indeed a wonderful romance book. And it most certainly ends in a fairy tale happy ever after, but only after our hero and heroine work hard for it.
The initial meeting between our feisty heroine Emma and the illusive, gruff Grayson was one of the best opening chapters I've read in a long time. For me it established fairly quickly that our female protagonist was going to be full of fun, intelligence, integrity and had two of the biggest mammaries as opposed to balls when it came to handling Grayson's condescension and arrogance. The sway and magnetism of Emma's confident character has the usually cool, calm and conceited Grayson in a bit of a tail spin from the get go, which leads to some of the most entertaining sexual chemistry between our hero and heroine, as they both try to navigate the murky and confusing waters of an office romance between boss and assistant and learning to trust each other, for Emma may appear confident on the outside to her new boss, but inside she is timid and fearful of another painful relationship.
Author Betty Shreffler knows exactly how to get the most out of her characters, whether it's through the highly engaging dialogue or the hilarious or steamy situations they find themselves in. They may start out as one thing but by the time their journey is over, they have transformed irrevocably through falling in love, getting hurt, healing and experiencing all the trials and tribulations of a complex romance environment.
The writing was superb in this. It was fast-paced, funny, witty and definitely measured high in the hot, steamy and thigh-clenching scale of things, you just have to glance at the cover to better your imagination in those scenes. With a kick-a$$, confident heroine to lead us on a whirl-wind romance with a hot as hades alpha male of a millionaire My Hot Boss is the perfect summer romance to bask in the sunshine with.

This book needs to come with a firm warning: KEEP EXTRA PANTIES ON HAND! THAT is how hot this book was!!!! I figured with a name like My Hot Boss this would be pretty steamy, but it was beyond words steamy and good! Ok, so beyond the steamy though was such a good story! There's something so good about those chance encounters and the fact that Emma had so many tragic moments around this encounter was kind of hysterical.
Emma, there is something so special about her. She had gone through a hell of a break up and was kind of fumbling her way through life, but that didn't stop her! She is so strong and so ambitious and of course I'm so envious of her job. I love that her "relationship" with Grayson wasn't perfect and that there were so many sloppy bumps along the way. It made their coupling so real. She definitely wasn't perfect and she didn't just fall into his bed (Not that she didn't want to), but it was great.
Grayson, oh man is this guy hottttttt. From the moment they met at the club I knew he'd be special and the fact that he was her boss, that would fulfill so many peoples fantasies! He's really alpha too and I love that he takes the perfect amount of control. Him and Emma were go greatly paired, they really brought the best out in each other
I can't wait for people to read this and experience as I did!

Oh, if only all of our bosses were as sexy and hot as Grayson Cole! I loved this story. It's heartwarming, frustrating, quirky, funny, and swooning all in one! Office romance and doing naughty things on your desk (or his) is a fuel-filled fantasy for most, but a delicious reality for these two!! Meeting one night at a bar, Emma, nursing a heartbreak via her liver and Grayson, the love 'em and leave 'em womanizer, have all the makings for a steamy one-nighter. But things, don't always turn out the way you want them to, do they? Fast forward one month, and in walks the man she threw up on, and he's her new boss. I swooned over both of them. Betty is one one my favorite authors. I have read all of her books and one is better than the next!!! Great Job, Betty!!
I loved her amazing characters, and was able to followed the plot from beginning to end.
Emma begins her day with a text from her boyfriend Derrick, letting her know that she is not enough for him and is seeing someone else.
Emma is devastated!!
Grayson Cole has been hurt his first love and has an issue trusting women.
Emma and Grayson meet on a chance encounter and have an instant attraction/connection. Emma heartbroken, wants a one night stand. It turns into an embarrassing night.
A month later Emma meets her new boss!!

Raise your hand if you're a Betty Shreffler virgin! That would be me. As you've guessed it, this was my very first Shreffler read, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew it wasn't going to be dark, obviously based on the cover alone, but the cover was gorgeous and I was excited to dive into this one. Without giving much away, we're introduced to our two main characters of the story Emma and Grayson (oddly familiar) that meet when Emma is trying move on with her life, after the unthinkable happens to her, and just like any other person, she's trying to pull herself together.
Things don't start off well of course, but that's when the puzzle starts to piece itself together.
They of course meet again, at the most oddest of places. Work of course. It is called My Hot Boss for a reason. But will that stop them from persuing what they first started? Do work relationships work? Will they be able to keep their work relationship professional, and their personal life...private? Or will it cross, and cause problems?
Things don't start off well of course, but that's when the puzzle starts to piece itself together.

First off I have to say I want Emma's shoes!
Ok, now that I got that off my chest....this book was hot! I so enjoyed the way Grayson and Emma met. What a craptastic way to start off their yet to be determined relationship. When the chemistry is there but Emma is left hanging, imagine her surprise when she meets her new Hot Boss!!
These two kept me on the edge of my seat, the super hot sexy scenes, the way they clicked. But what happens when a set of people who are both afraid of commitment meet?
I'll tell you, panty melting, funny as heck, very emotional read.
You want more info......read it and see. Just don't read it at work or in company unless you wanna explain the look on your face and the unexpected laugh you can't suppress.

OMG!! Where do I start? Grayson Cole is where I need to start!! He's HOT, Sexy, Intelligent, Swoon Worthy and he's HOT!!! oh I mentioned that lol but you need to be told..... This book needs to be read by the thousands...
I loved every page and every word.... it's beautifully written.... I highly recommend everyone to have a piece of Mr Cole because he's worth it 😉😉

I enjoyed this book very much. It had a steamy office romance involving two people who simply can't resist each other. Emma and Grayson both have those things from their past that are effecting their present and make their future uncertain.
I felt this story was a nice balance of character development with some interesting plot twists and of course a good amount of steam. There were supporting characters to love and ones to hate. One in particular I really hated and wished there had been some kind of redeeming quality but I never found it. I overall just felt like all the elements of the story worked. This was a new author for me but she did so well I would be interested in reading more.
I would recommend this one to office romance or contemporary romance fans. And just be prepared for some seriously hot scenes.

So we have boy meets girl in night club, instant chemistry, case of broken phone, lost contact, one month later boy shows up on girls office as new HOT BOSS....... so at this point I was thinking I have read this plot before, .....but I was wrong.
This is what I would call a true romance story. Characters have instant chemistry that continues through out the book. There were a few moments of angst, where you just knew one of them would screw the whole thing up, but not enough to be drama, but enough to keep you reading. It was nice to read a story without all the back and forth drama, where you just really felt like you got to know the characters.
The steamy scenes were short and sweet, which I loved, because sometimes you just don't want a 9 page sex scene. The short but sweet aspect in no way takes away from the hotness factor.
I really enjoyed this book, and the author's writing style. My only reason for not giving 5 stars, is I wished the epilogue would have been a little longer, with more detail. It felt a little rushed to me

My Hot Boss by Betty Shreffler a fab four star read. This is the second or third book I have read by this author, and I enjoy her style of writing and she writes people that although they may be in crazy situations they handle them like real people. They have depth and compassion to them and mess up just like normal folk. There is great chemistry between the two main characters Emma and Grayson and I would have happily given it five-stars as it was so well written but I did feel like I was reading a similar book once or twice, but then something would happen and the plot would change and twist it up. The best bit of the book is when Emma and Grayson meet for the second time at work, hence the name hot boss, It was a great moment of realisation and is one of the best scenes I have read for a while.
There really is a bit of everything in this book, love and humour and some great sweet intimate scenes that were well plotted and written. Overall a great read that you will enjoy if you want to curl up with an easy fun read.

Sooo HOT and amazing!
This was another fantastic, hot read by Betty Shreffler! Ever since hearing about this book, I was curious since I love office romance stories, and this book didn't disappoint. This was everything I love about office romance stories, with a fun heroine, a slightly mysterious yet affectionate businessman hero, and plenty of affairs of the heart to keep you on edge throughout the story.
This story focuses on Emma and Grayson. Emma is a shoe-loving, romance-loving, worker at a publishing house, and she has had her heart broken before. She's fun to read about and easy to identify with, with some justifiable fears and the desire to find love, as well as not afraid to speak her mind. Grayson has his own issues related to trust, and watching the interplay of jealousy and trust between these two was interesting to say the least. He is also everything else desirable to Emma, except for being her boss. With many skills to please and thoughtfulness to adore, him being hot is only the cherry on the cake. Definitely new book boyfriend material. I enjoyed seeing both POVs in this story, seeing how they changed over time, and I absolutely loved the chemistry and intimate moments between them, with feelings and desires of all sorts running through it. And if you like office romance like I do, you'll be more than satisfied by what goes on between these two, with adventures of all sorts to make you smile and blush. There is an instant attraction between them, but don't be fooled; there is much that they need to work through that makes this book and romance very satisfying.

Grayson’s character is complex. He hasn’t wanted more from a woman than sex in years, but Emma is different. He wants her and can admit that he cares for her, but can’t seem to let go of his past to admit he wants a real relationship with her. Trust is hard to believe in when it has been broken in the past, and Grayson’s father makes sure to remind him of that at every turn.
I enjoyed the play between these two characters as they learn to let go and move forward. Betty Shreffler was brand new to me when I read this book but oh man man did she peak my interest and have my checking out her backlist because this book was so so good.. Funny. Sexy. Sweet. Fun. This book and this author checked all my boxes off for a near perfect romance.
My Hot Boss is a lighter, sweeter, softer, laugh out loud romantic comedy/second chance romance (of sorts) that will have you laughing, giggling, smiling, and swooning the entire time these two are gracing your kindle. Grayson and Emma were quite the complicated mess at times but their chemistry and passion was completely undeniable and addicting in all the best ways possible.

Holy hotness! My Hot Boss definitely lives up to the title.
The chemistry between Emma and Grayson is off the charts. Not only does Emma get to read about hot sex scenes she eventually gets to live them. The man she met a month ago after moping after a break-up comes into her life again but as her new boss. Grayson has thought about Emma and why she hadn't called him. He will soon know why when him and Emma talk after work one night. The chemistry from a month ago is still there between them and what can they do about it now, that he's her boss? Grayson though doesn't really do relationships but Emma is different than the others and he's not sure if he should keep her or let her go before it's too late? As Emma gets to know Grayson better, she knows there is something he's holding back and won't let her in, can this work for Emma or will she let Grayson go because she wants more? It all comes crashing down one day. Has Grayson lost the only light in his dark? Read to find out.
Betty you have done a great job with the story. You gave the characters smexy scenes that could melt panties while reading (fans self). You draw the reader in and with that you give the reader anticipation to want more. With the point of view from each character you see inside them and understand why they are who they are. Emma is out with her best friend Megan who is trying to help her get over a painful breakup. She bumps into Grayson going to the bathroom and the chemistry is high between them. Sadly Emma gets sick for drinking too much. Grayson gives Emma his number but her phone breaks loosing Grayson's number. Emma tries to find him through Facebook but no luck. Then a month later she gets to meet her new boss and yes it's Grayson!! It's obvious they are very attracted to each other but Grayson being Emma's boss complicates things.😱😱
This book was humorous at times. Emma has this fun personality. Grayson hides his feelings because of what happened to him in college and the way his dad raised him. I really cried near the end of the book😭😭😭😭 I didn't see it coming😭😭😭😭

Emma has too much to drink and while heading to the bathroom, runs into a very handsome man, Grayson. Grayson buys her a drink and they decide to leave together, but through a comedy of errors he leaves and she loses her only contact she had for Grayson. Even though they never got together, they can't forget about each other.
Emma works for a book publishing company and her favorite genre to discover is hot and steamy romance. One day while reading, Claire (the head of Human Resources) knocks on her door to introduce her to her new Boss- Grayson!
She blurts out to him that she broke her phone right after he put his information in it and had no way to find him. Both are still very attracted to the other.
This book was funny, steamy and heartbreaking. I absolutely loved my first experience with Betty Shreffler's books and can't wait to read more!

Where do I start? I've known this book was coming, have seen the teasers and now that I've had the chance to read it, I have to say that this was better than the teasers promised. Emma and Grayson together were perfect. Both have issues but can't resist each other in the end. There were times I really wanted to reach through the book and smack Grayson upside the head. And the office bitch, don't even get me started on her! I'm not saying too much about this book because I really don't want to give away any spoilers but trust me, you NEED to get this book and read it! I laughed, I cried, I got pissed off. When an author can get me to show these emotions, it's a damn good book. Just get the book and you'll see what I mean!!

Grayson is a hot, rich and know what he want while Emma is a hard-working yet shy kind of girl. However, being with Grayson does open her up. He woos her from the beginning and I loved the roses.
This book had me hooked from the very start to the absolute very end and I can not recommend this book enough....

I thought the book was disappointing. I didn't care for the characters and actually found them annoying. It's just constant obsession and sex. Granted, the scenes are definitely hot and steamy, but that's all this book has to offer. Oh and lots of giggles. I lost count of how many times giggle was used in this book. It would have been nice to read a different action other than giggle all the time. So far my least fave book from this author. So disappointed!

This is my first book by Betty and I really enjoyed reading it.
Emma & Grayson first meet not long after Emma and her ex separated and they almost end up having a one night stand.
Fast forward a month, and Grayson ends up being Emma's new boss. They both try and tell the other and themselves that now they are working together they can't cross that line, but they both end up giving in to their attraction.
This is a fast paced book with a couple of characters that try their hardest to come between the pair, but really the one person who does this is Grayson himself.
Lots of sexual chemistry in this well written book, but I only ended up by giving it four stars as I thought the ending was a bit rushed.
Would definitely read more from this author.

Above all this is a well written, easy to read steamy romance with occasional flashes of humor and brilliance. The story is good, Grayson was hot, romantic and every bit the alpha male and Emma stole the show (or book in this case!) with her thoughts and funny mishaps. It seems strange for me to say "Hey, less steamy sex scenes!" but that's a bit how I felt. On the one hand, these two can't keep their hands off of each other and it manages to be both hot and sensual at the same time. On the other hand, there were conversations and background stuff I feel could have been explored if they'd just talked a -little- bit more and that would have made the story more complete in my opinion.
Overall though it's really good. I kept wanting to see what would happen next, certain parts put a smile on my face and the characters were a lot of fun. Thanks for my copy of this book for which I am voluntarily leaving a review.
