Favorite Quotes:

You know, not all men are the devil. Look at me. I’m not half bad.

He’s everything I’d never imagine my heart fluttering for… I’m more of a Wednesday Adams person, while he seems to be more like a Ward Cleaver. A very sexy, tempting Ward Cleaver, at that. Not that I’m judging. Okay, I’m judging

This black-haired, Converse sneakers girl has snagged the sexy, supersmart doctor. I don’t know how the hell it happened, but I think he’s under my super odd, not-so-charming spell.

I’m usually pretty low-maintenance because, well, when you live in a town with about five eligible bachelors, all of whom you’ve already slept with at one point and decided against, looking like a cover girl isn’t exactly a priority.

My Review:

All Of You was a quick, easy to follow, emotive, and heart squeezing story with a sweet and transformative romance between admirable and endearing characters. Written from a dual POV the premise straddled several genres and could be considered part New Adult, women’s fiction, small-town, contemporary romance, and family drama; although all that doesn’t really matter to me as I mainly consider it a well written, entertaining, and engaging read. The storylines were realistic, well constructed, and held my interest and attention throughout. I enjoyed and cared about the characters and wanted to know all about them. Marley was a bit offbeat for her small-town. She was tattooed, converse clad, clever, and partially broken yet sweet and easily lovable. I was quickly drawn to her and remained quite curious throughout while the wily writer gradually revealed their tragic family secrets at a tantalizing pace, which kept me intrigued and eager for each new tidbit. Alex was the perfect book boyfriend although both characters produced a new and improved version of each other by the book’s satisfying conclusion. Sigh, they have inspired me today, I seem to be looking forward to the next rainstorm and am even considering pulling out my long mothballed kayak. Miraculous!

Usually I am all about the loud romances – those with big bangs and dark characters. But sometimes there are also some of the more silent ones that sneak their way into my reading schedule. A co blogger of mine had already read some books by Lindsay Detwiler so I knew her to be a good writer from what I heard. So when I read the plot of “All of You” I decided to give it a go even though I knew it would be more quiet than what I usually read.

Almost everything in this book is the opposite of what I usually read so I was a little out of my game at first. I was expecting things to happen that never came and therfore the story could not manage to finally engage my whole heart in it so I can only give 4 stars. But please do not misunderstand that as negative – it was just me. This book had a steady flow and provided deeply and careful developed characters. They were just more on the quiet side of things. In this story it is more about the depth of things than about their pace.

And know there are not many authors that can “sell” me this kind of story flow but this is def. one of them. Marley and Alex were such interesting characters that I truly liked to follow their journey navigating the rough waters of relationships when families interfere. To me it was a calm story about breaking free from chains that tie you in places you no longer belong and hinder your growth.

All Of You is a quite short story, you don't worry it won't leave you with a sense of incompleteness because Lindsay Detwiler has perfectly written and described the growth of her characters chapter after chapter until their happy ending.

Marley and Alex come from two very different worlds,a bartender in the best cofee shop of her little town, with a love for poetry the first and the hot new californian doctor in town the latter.
Their relationship starts as a friendship and flows smoothly as the water of a river until they have to face their baggages and fears in order to break free and finally live their lives at the fullest without any guilt and pressure from their pasts and families.

I really appreciated to read this lovely and heartbreaking at times but always interesting book.

All of You

Lindsay Detwiler

Received From Author

Fourteen years ago Marley lost her dad. She was only seven and she has been trying to save her mom ever since. ALL OF YOU starts out with Marley sitting on the railing of the same bridge where her dad died. She falls over and that happens just when Alex is driving by. He doesn't think twice about jumping over the side to rescue Marley. This won't be the last time the sexy doctor saves Marley either.

Marley doesn't feel she is worthy to have a friend or anything more with Alex. He has his life all mapped out, knows exactly where he is going and comes from the perfect family. At least that's what Marley thinks. She comes with lots of baggage and refuses to pull Alex down with her. Over time, Alex tries to get closer to Marley but she has a wall up surrounding her heart and refuses to let him in. So many times, I wanted to just give Marley a hug. I was cheering for Alex, hoping he could get through to Marley and help her find her way. She is a tortured soul and feels she is unworthy of anyone loving her or caring about her. ALL OF YOU had me tearing up quite a few times while my heart was breaking for Marley.

I'm so grateful for Lindsay Detwiler for reaching out to me and asking me if I would be interested in reading and reviewing her captivating book, ALL OF YOU. Once I started reading, I was instantly hooked and had a very hard time putting it down. I felt every feeling and emotion Marley was feeling and found myself choking up many times wishing Marley wasn't dealing with so much heart ache. I can not wait to read more by Lindsay Detwiler.

Lindsay Detwiler is expanding her horizons a bit. With All of You she tackles the darker side of life. Upfront I'll saw that this isn't a down and dirty gritty read, but with subjects such as mental health and addiction, the story will be far from light. But this is a story about taking chances and risk and ultimately hope and embracing change.

Both of the main characters, Marley and Alex are incredibly likable. From the moment of their unusual introduction to each other and the not so subtle way they are pushed together, I had a great feeling about them. Marley is the creative one but she's stuck on being stuck. She's convinced herself of the role she is to play in life. It's rather tragic, but Alex is is just the right antidote. Not that he isn't without his prescribed notions of the path he's on, but he's already started striking out on his own, veering off the familial expectations of him.

All in all I found this a super sweet story about first love. As to those heavy topics, Detwiler handles them with sensitivity and uses some of life's harder lessons to flush out her characters. I'm a long standing fan of Detwilers and I love the idea of her "Rescue Me" series and All of You is a very promising start.

There is so much story packed into this novella. This is such a different twist on anything I have ever read by Lindsay Detwiler. It deals with a couple heavier topics like addiction and suicide. Marley seems like such an addictingly care free person. I love her personality. How corky she is yet sweet and giving at the same time. Henry’s little appearance is just perfect!! I loved every second of it!! Alex was raised in the complete opposite environment that Marley was. Everything was precise and done for a reason. He is going to become a doctor, and move back to California to work with his father at the facility his father wants him too.

For some reason this odd couple is the perfect fit for each other it seems. However they both have their demons they need to fight. In such a little book this author managed to evolve these characters so well it floored me. Did I want more??? Of course! I always want more when I fall in love with the characters. How did she fit a slow burn romance into a Novella?? How?? I really don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. So I really just suggest you go and buy it and read it for yourself!!

This book was Amazing~ if I could give it more than 5 stars I would!!! If you have read other books by this author, this book is different. It has characters that haven't had the best growing up , secrets that don't want to reveal because afraid of people running away from them. Marley Jade and Alex are the main characters in All of You. I really enjoyed getting to know Marley and Alex . This book was about living in the moment and life isn't easy.
I did shed a tear while reading this. I can't wait to see what is next in this series.

Parts of the story I liked:

When Marley was tour guide for Alex.

"Life is simple if you follow what your heart wants."

"Money can't buy happiness, but hard work can buy you things you can be proud of."

"I've come to realize, the unknown isn't such a bad thing and life isn't exciting because of where you live. It's who you're spending your life with."

I'd definitely recommend this book to others.

Alex is working in a small town hospital. He has a bright future ahead of him as a doctor. When he's driving to work he sees a woman falling into the water and immediately dives after her. This woman is Marley and he's instantly intrigued by her, for Alex she's the most interesting person in town. He would love to spend more time with her, even though this goes against his father's wishes and his plans for Alex's future career. What will Alex do?

Marley is taking care of her mother and let her own dreams go because of it. Her mother is unstable and Marley keeps hoping she'll change, but this seems to be in vain. When she meets Alex there are sparks. Marley has finally found someone who understands her, but she thinks she shouldn't get into a relationship with someone. She doesn't feel she has much to offer at all because she has too much baggage to be a good catch for anyone. However, there's something between her and Alex that can't be ignored, will they have a chance together?

All of You is a beautiful emotional love story. Marley is a wonderful woman. I loved that she enjoys the smallest things and can totally be herself. I liked her kindness and gentle caring nature. She's perfect for Alex. She's an adventure and that's exactly what he needs. Alex is a good person, but he's always doing what people are expecting of him and it's time to follow his heart instead. I loved the gorgeous bond they form together, it's clear that they are soul mates and belong to each other. However, their parents are standing in their way and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to see if Alex and Marley would be able to find the courage to live their own lives instead.

Lindsay Detwiler's writing has a lovely easy flow. I was completely captivated by her story and couldn't put it down. I love stories about true love and All of You is definitely a good one. Alex encourages Marley to make her dreams come true and Marley shows Alex what it's like to enjoy life. They are endearing together and that put a big smile on my face. I really liked this wonderful romantic story.

This was my 2nd Lindsay Detwiler book and I was really intrigued by the description. Marley and Alex are both really well developed and interesting characters. I also enjoyed that the book didn't have a lot of drama. It was really just about them and their relationship. How do you navigate someone's quirks, history and issues. They both bring out the best in each other and push them to a better future. It's a great change of pace from a lot of books I've read recently.

I gave this book 4 stars!

This is a another new author to me and I love that I get to find the Amazing, talented, well written stories!!!! Lindsay, I have added several of your books on my TBR ( They will eventually get read I promise)!!! I love the characters and the storyline. So many times I wanted to wrap my arms around Marley and give her a hug and tell her things would be okay. I love how Alex never gave up on her and he wanted to tear down those walls that she built so high.

Marley dad died when she was young and she has been trying to save her mom for years. When she finds herself at the very spot her dad died, she is thinking about her life. When she ends up falling off the bridge and into the water, she doesn't know if she make it out. Alex just happens to be driving by and see Marley fall into the water. He doesn't think, he reacts and jumps in saving Marley. This isn't the last time the doctor save her life but can he tear down her walls that she has built around her heart?

I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

All of You by Lindsay Detwiler is a full length, standalone romance novel
Meet Alex Evans, he´s a driven young doctor in residency and fairly new in town. He pulls Marley Jade out of the deep end, literally.
She´s a young woman with issues and a rough past. She has good days and bad days, is a talented writer. She needs someone to care for her, he has his own demons. Marley Jade reminds him what living really means. They´re two halves who make each other complete.
I started reading and was captivated. I could feel the characters emotions in evey single word. All of You is a extremely well written story, a heart wrenchingly story about pain, love and second chances in live. I give 5 stars. Thank you, Lindsay Detwiler !

Was wary with how this began. Wasn’t sure how this would go. I mean Alex and Marley didn’t kick off their meeting as a meet cute. It was more anxiety ridden wondering what Marley was thinking. Even with that shaky beginning the book turned out to be seriously adorable and Alex swoonworthy.

Alex was a medical resident who was really living in a shadow and trying to meet what his dad wanted. He was always taught to work and only focus on work. His dad was one about status and not really about balance. Even with this as a part of him, Alex was kind, sweet and just adorable. He was lost and trying to figure out where he belonged. He was still focused on work just once Marley came into his world he began to see that without life you become a shell of a person. She saved him from himself and losing he he is.

Marley was a girl with a heart of gold. She had guilt consuming her and a family life that weighed her down. Alex saved her from the guilt and fear inside her. He helped her gain the courage to go for what she wanted and not be held back by fear. To realize that her past isn’t her fault and she has nothing to be guilty for. His love and belief in her did that. Her love and understanding helped Alex find his way and become who he is meant to be.

the story is adorable and sweet. We see two characters who are opposites save one another from a life of loneliness and guilt. They learn to balance work and life, love and family but also find their voice. You will become engrossed as you read the story from both Alex and Marley’s voice and fall in love with them as they struggle with their own demons and help each other see what is meant to be and help one another find the strength to fight the demons and come out on the other side with each other.

All Of You is one of those sweetly refreshing stories that proves a romance novel doesn't need to be sexy or smutty to still be memorable and give you all the feels. The relationship between Alex and Marley is so sweet, but deeply moving at the same time. And all without a single bedroom scene. Sure, it's alluded to, but the most this couple does is kiss. And you know what? I honestly didn't even notice until after I'd finished the book.

Marley thinks she's a broken woman, but I found her to just be a bit fractured. Guilt and loyalty have kept her stagnant in small-town life, but when Dr. Alex Evans literally saves her from a slip and fall off a bridge, he also rescues her from her demons. And in turn, Marley saves Alex from continuing down a life path that he didn't even realize he no longer wanted.

All Of You is short and sweet (I easily read it in a day), but full of depth. The characters are engaging, and while I'm generally not a fan of instalove romances, their growth in their relationship is shown -- not told -- through Detwiler's words, so I genuinely felt that they had fallen hard for one another.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Most times, I like my romance novels to be gritty, intense, complicated, and a little dark. Other times I’m in need of a sweet, endearing story—one that simply makes me smile. All of You by Lindsay Detwiler did exactly that.

“She was the lifeblood I waited to uncover. She was the answer to the midnight wish I didn’t know I’d asked for.”

Lindsay had my complete attention with the opening to Alex and Marley’s story. These two were the sweetest together. Alex with his caring, genuine nature of wanting to help others. Marley being unapologetically herself while enjoying the simplest of things. They each embraced each other, and brought out the best in each other.

“This time, it’s not really Alex who saves me. I think this time, our lips still locked, our hearts beating wildly, we save each other.”

All of You was a wonderful and unexpected change in my reading. One that I didn’t realize how much was needed, but fully embraced and loved. A sweet story full of depth, and beautiful characters trying to break free from other’s wishes and do what makes their hearts happy.

Review by April...
Overall, this was a very sweet, lovely romance in which both main characters have their own past issues to overcome. Marley's history with her biological family is sad and tragic which leaves Marley with a lot of issues to overcome before she will allow herself to truly reach for her dreams, love, and happiness. While Alex's family appears to be much more supportive and put together, there are still issues under the surface that Alex has to face before he can embrace the future he wants for himself. Both Marley and Alex are characters that readers can identify with and feel for. The story itself is believable and easy to fall into for any reader. The writing style is easy to read and feel. However, I will say that I felt there were several parts of the book where pieces of the plot or story were repeated and there were several places where there were 1 line paragraphs that made it feel slightly disjointed when reading. Although I had that small complaint, I will definitely be reading more books by this author because the story and characters were fulfilling.

This is the first book I have read by Lindsay and I really enjoyed it. This is a sweet romance about two people discovering themselves with the help of each other. Alex Evans is the new sexy resident in town. Marley Jade is a poet barista. When an accident allows Alex and Marley to meet fate may be involved. Alex is in the home stretch, just a few more years and he will have earned that white coat. Marley has not had the easiest life. She feels bound to help her mother no matter how much it costs her. After meeting and spending time with Marley, Alex begins to see he needs more from life. More than just working, eating, studying, and sleeping. He also helps Marley discover things about herself. Alex may have saved Marley first but they save each other in the end. This book was different from the kind of romances I normally read. It was a sweeter, slower romance. The characters go quite a bit of self-discovery which I enjoyed. I recommend this book if you like sweeter romances.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

" I can't love you anyway. I can't love you despite your imperfections. But I can love you because of them.Marley, I don't want perfection. Hell, what does that even mean? I want you, every single piece of you, every undone and scared and broken piece. I just want you."

This is one sweet story about a (not so) broken girl and a doctor who wants to save her, but they ended up saving each other.

The only problem I have with this story is that I kept feeling like I'm missing something. I don't know if it was that I wanted to know more about Marley's youth or how come it took Alex so long to see that he was living his fathers dreams.

Overall I liked it - this book has a really lovely couple who aren't rushing into relationship, who have their past demons to conquer, but together they make it work.

Once I got into this one, I found myself really enjoying it - it just took me a while and I think that was more down to me than anything the author did or didn't do.

Alex Evans is working on his residency and doesn't have time for anything or anyone else until he rescues Marley Jade. She is carefree and has a wild streak, doing what she wants. Marley shows him how to bring a balance to his life. Marley though is not as carefree as she leads the world to believe, hiding a torment underneath that is tearing her apart.

I loved what these characters brought to each other and they balanced each other, bringing the best out in each other. Alex truly had the gift of words and was so romantic and caring towards Marley. I would have liked to have read some of Marley's poetry to get completely under her skin. However, I did end up thoroughly enjoying what I got and Lindsay Detwiler has delivered again.

All of You is a story about two people who are totally different from each other, as two people can get. A sexy doctor who has big expectations on his shoulders, and a poet who lets her dark past define her. And yet, fate steps in, when Alex Evans saves Marley Jade's life, to take them on a new journey that neither saw coming. This story was a slow burn type of story, and usually that's a story that I don't gravitate towards, as I'm a loud kind of girl, who does everything big, so I love my books to be like that. However, I found this story well written, and as it did keep me engaged to the end. Lindsay Detwiler has a talented writing style who sold me on her very interesting characters who had a lot of depth. And the journey was realistic in it's telling, as these two navigated a new relationship through life & issues when family interferes. I'm excited to read more by this author in the future, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was my first book by Lindsay Detwiler. I’m so glad she found my blog and introduced me to her writing. I know that statement is at odds with my rating of this book. I truly believe that she is a great writer with the ability to draw you into her story. I was hooked from the start and quickly fell in love with Marley and Alex. Their story was unique and interesting. Where she lost me was in the development of their story. These characters had depth and complex histories, but we didn't get to experience their individual growth nor explore the broken relationships they had with their parents. I also felt like we could have used a little more drama in regard to their relationship with each other. For two people at odds with their lives and Marley being so "broken," they made it through their journey unscathed. Everything was too neatly wrapped up for my taste. In the end, I just needed more.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

Sweet emotional love story with no drama. Alex met Marley when she fell off the bridge and he saved her. He’s the out of town doctor doing his residency in this small town and she’s the barista of the coffee shop in the town.

They are from different worlds and backgrounds but yet they are attracted to each other and don’t care about their backgrounds. Marley shows Alex how to live a little to be adventurous to enjoy life and he shows her how to not be afraid and face your fears and go after your dreams. He saved her.

It was a beautiful story showing how their relationship was building and how for any little problem they supported each other. I liked how Alex didn’t let his father mentality mess up his relationship with Marley and that it didn’t come in between them.

Very sweet read with emotional and very real matters.

All of You by Lindsay Detwiler is a remarkable story of an ever-changing life for Marley, a twenty one year old girl with a tragic past. Both great things and never forgotten sadness took place on Cedar Bend Bridge. The Bridge is the place where Dr. Alex and Marley’s paths met. Alex and Marley were both up for a well needed adjustment to their lives. Great details of their ever changing attitudes toward life. As an animal lover, I love the reference of Henry the Mastiff in her books. Great story line. I’m looking forward to many more books by this author.

All of you is the first book by Lindsey Detwiler that I had read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it to be very well written, it was a clean romance but the characters had distinctive chemistry. It was quite a sweet plot. Two individuals so different who didn’t know they needed each other, finding what was needed in the other person. Marley brought Alex back to the land of the living while Alex helps Marley find her inner strength to follow her dreams.

I hate when I review and have to get less than 4 stars. I had such high hopes when I read the blurb for All of You, but unfortunately (for me) the story fell short.

I go into a new book with hoping for that “connection” with characters.....I kept hoping as I was reading and it just never happened for me.

I hate when I review and have to get less than 4 stars. I had such high hopes when I read the blurb for All of You, but unfortunately (for me) the story fell short.

I go into a new book with hoping for that “connection” with characters.....I kept hoping as I was reading and it just never happened for me. "
