I hate to even admit this but I wish that I would have loved Simply Blair more than I actually did. It had the potential to live up to the previous books but for me it sadly fell a bit flat. It’s not a bad book by any means; I just wish I would have been more into it than I was.
Does that mean I won’t want to read anything more from this author? Not at all, I will continue to read further Gina Robinson books, just because Simply Blair didn’t hit the mark I had hoped it would doesn’t mean I won’t like her future books. Also I want to find out what is going to happen next. What will happen between Austin, Blair and Nigel who I must admit I wanted to kick in the balls more than once, this is what I asked myself more than once while reading. These books have quickly become ones I look forward to and while Simply Blair simply didn’t work for me as I hoped I still in the end overall enjoyed it.
This book picks up from the last book..boy is it filled with oh no moments. Blair has flown over to Scotland to do some promo for the next season of Jamie. Of course Austin has been detained in the states because of Randy "Dickless" I feel so bad for Blair and Austin. Blair ends up getting in an accident and forgets Austin....her real life Jamie. And Nigel her slimey ex doesn't want her to remember Austin. He was letting his old ways show and Blair was reliazing something was wrong. It was filled with excitement towards the end. You got lots of info what was really go ing on and how far some were going to ruin others. I couldn't put it down and can't wait to read what happens in the next book. September cant come soon enough.- By Mandi
I can't get over how much I'm enjoying this series!!
I will say that so far this have been my least favorite but only because Austin and Blair are separated for half the book. Otherwise the sweet chemistry they have is amazing!
"Simply Blair" is the heart in throat third installment of Gina Robinson's Jet City Kilt series. This series is a four book saga focusing on Cyber Security Cosplayer Austin McDougall and Dr. Blair Edwards. Each of these books is a cliffhanger leading to the next. In the second book, "Almost Elinor" Austin and Blair were well on seemingly steps away from their HEA. Unfortunately Austin's detained by the Feds before they could leave for their London and Scotland get-away. "Simply Blair" picks up immediately with the couple on two different continents and facing intense challenges. Blair's plans to face her ex-boyfriend in person to explain her abrupt break-up meets a major and unexpected catastrophe. Back in the US Austin is trying desperately to clear his name which is taking far too long. Blair's ex-boyfriend is up to no good and she's alone in a foreign country and extremely vulnerable. "Simply Blair" had me approaching with caution. I wasn't thrilled to learn Austin was at risk of losing Blair to her egotistical and boring ex Nigel. However Gina Robinson handles this in a dramatic yet completely realistic way. Whenever I would get frustrated by Blair's emotional wavering I was able to understand - to some degree. Most of the action occurs between Blair and Nigel and Austin and Lazer. Austin's pack is in attendance only at the end but their personalities are there in spades. There is one more major conflict for Austin and Blair to face which arises in "Simply Blair". It looks as though "Simply Austin" will be taking place in Scotland; at least for a bit. I am totally invested in Gina Robinson's Jet City Kilt series and cannot wait to see how it wraps up! Wow!!! Things are getting dicey in book three of The Jet City Kilt series. While Austin is locked into enforced incommunicado, Blair is left to travels to England alone. She meets up with Nigel, her ex-boyfriend and whilst with him, she has an accident. Forced to rely solely on Nigel and unable to fly home or to Scotland, due to her head trauma she is trapped with no idea of who Austin is. Nigel, ever the opportunist, takes advantage of the situation trying to get Blair to fall in love with him again. But, there’s a part of Blair that is ever wary and doesn’t give in to his conniving ways. When Nigel takes Blair to Cornwall to discover her roots, she doesn’t know what awaits her. Is Nigel trying to reenact an episode of Jamie or does he have more dastardly plans in mind? And while Blair is unaware of his predicament, Austin is left to sweat it out under the arms of the law. He’s stuck with no way to communicate with the outside world, although he can see what’s happening OUT THERE!!! It’s down to the guys to save their best bud. But, will Blair’s memory return? Will she ever remember Austin? Will Austin be able to clear his name? Will the two lovers be re-united or is all lost? Can a love like theirs ever truly be forgotten? Well, let me just say this. The ending was pretty damned dramatic and made my heart go pitter patter too. I swooned, Blair swooned. My kindle probably did too. Now, I just have to wait until September for my next fix of this enthralling tale of love, lust deception and revenge!!
I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Blair and Austin’s romance continues across the pond but Blair is flying alone as Austin is detained at the airport. Blair is meeting her ex Nigel at a pub to get her belongs she left at his flat when she had to fly home immediately because of Beth’s poor health. Blair also needs to see Nigel face to face for closure since she didn’t like the way she ended things with him. When Blair meets Nigel and listens to his proposal and of why he’s the better choice instead of Austin, Blair needed to leave. With her mind processing what Nigel had said, she didn’t properly look as she steps of the curb and is hit by a car. She’s taken to the hospital, bruised and concussed with memory loss. Nigel is by her side and uses her injury to persuade her that she’s still in love with him. Blair is battling between what she remembers but her heart is telling her telling her something different but she doesn’t know what.
Austin is detained due to an anonymous tip that he’s involved in cyberattacks. It’s a ploy by his arch nemesis, he’s sure of it but he can’t seem to convince the authorities. Austin is concerned that Blair is alone with Nigel and his insecurities bubble up. He’s unable to get a hold of Blair and Austin seeks his buddies to make sure that Blair doesn’t forget him and save her from Nigel’s grasp.
Blair and Austin’s love will be tested while they are apart. Fun read with twists and surprises.
Simply Blair is the third novel is this series by Gina Robinson. While the author says that you can read the two Always books separate from the two Simply books, I personally suggest to read them in the order that they were written. You will have a much better appreciation for the characters and the story.
This time around the story picks up with Blair headed off to London alone and Austin being detained. Either know just what is going on or when they will be reunited. This time around Gina throws in one very big and interesting twist. It had me yelling at my Kindle app and wanting to throw it. We finally get some answers as to what has happened with Austin and dislike Nigal even more.
One thing that this novel shows is that your heart will find it's way back to true love no matter what. I have been rooting for Blair and Austin from the start and this novel just makes me root even harder for their love. I don't want to say to much more as it would give things away. I really want you to get the feel for the novel just like I did , no idea what was about to happen.
If you haven't already started this series I suggest you go and pick up Almost Jamie. It's been an interesting story of a kilt wearing geek and a British-American doctor. If you have read the first two novels then I truly believe you will love this one as much as I did. Come on September so I can find out just how this love story plays out.
Gina does it again with the third book in this amazing series!! Simply Blair picks up where Almost Elinor left off with Austin being detained and Blair heading to England with promise he'll meet up. Blair keeps her appointment with Nigel to get her grandmother's ring he is holding hostage after he announces to the world he wants her back. Blair needs to see Nigel face to face for closure after the way she ended things. When she sees him she can't help but compare him to Austin and she knows she never loved him as completely as she loves Austin. After Nigel makes a butt of himself dressed as Reggie and proposing to Blair, she rushes out of the pub not paying attention and gets hit by a car. Nigel takes advantage of Blair's memory loss and takes her to his family's keep to heal. The plot thickens as Austin is being held due to an anonymous source claiming treason and on lockdown except Lazer and an attorney. Blair knows in her heart something or someone is missing but who can she trust. When snippets come to her are the memories or fantasy??? Can Austin crack his code to prove his innocence in time or will he lose the love of his life??? Loved this book!! So full of intrigue and deception your heart will ache right along with Austin. Already ordered Simply Austin and can't wait. An amazing story from Gina Robinson!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book Thank you Gina Robinson
Our couple is on the trip of a lifetime for the two of them when he is detained by the government, and she is involved in an incident that has her questioning everything in her life, including her new relationship with Austin. While Austin is held by the government and unable to speak with Blair, he discovers what has happened to her, and his life starts falling apart around him. In the meantime, Nigel swoops in to play hero, but there's something questionable going on with him from the first moment, and the secrets continue to unfold as the story moves forward.
I found myself becoming wrapped up in the web of this story, watching things unravel and become clearer as it moved along. I cheered for Blair and Austin to find a way to get back together, and thought all of the twists and turns made everything even more thrilling. Drawing all of the Austins friends into the picture made the story more entertaining, and that ending was fantastic fun. I couldn't wait to read the conclusion of this story.
OMG, this installment is just so much. When we left our couple Blake was on the plane and Austin was getting detained. Blair was getting her things back from Nigel as well as closure. Nervous and excited about the meeting with worry over Austin, she gets thru her meeting but managed to still be distracted. As Austin tries to convince the authorities he is not the threat, he sees the reports on the news briefs that is allowed to him. The only visitor he manages to get is Lazor who also brings a lawyer. Nigel takes advantage of Blair's accident, while Blair deals with the healing process. She is reluctant to give Nigel to much hope. Austin meanwhile works thru Lazor and the guys to help Blair. So much happens and to give any more of it away will spoil this part of the story. This portion just gives more reason why these two are meant for each other. Can't wait to read Austin's side.
Read the first three books in this series (Almost Jamie, Almost Elinor, and Simply Blair) and am anxiously awaiting next months release of the fourth book- Simply Austin.
What's not to love?
- An intelligent protagonist - A cute, smart hero in a kilt - A fandom driven storyline *for a show that sounds eerily similar to Outlander*
The series is well written. Austin is a cyber security guy who, along with his friends, has developed a successful dating app. Blair is a doctor just off a long term, long distance relationship. They meet at ComicCon, where hijinks occur that throw them together. The only annoyances were side thoughts by Austin, hinting towards the friend-zone misogynistic mindset that can ruin a MC for me, but he never actually goes there & amnesia trope.
Since I did read the first two was quickly turning the pages on this one. Blair and Austin are at a crucial point it would seem. As if with events from his side messing with them not enough something from her life altering event happens. One way to kidnap the reader and insuring they do not leave because you so want the best for this couple. With the negative forces working overtime the positive will pull us along with the characters bringing it all together. I just love her aunt she was a joy through out each book for me to see after initial onset. By the time this one winds down you know she is not done with you yet.
I love Blair and Austin together, and I dived right into this one as soon as I got my greedy little hands on it. That being said, this wasn't my favorite of the series, mainly due to the fact that Blair and Austin were apart. I get that it was needed for the drama of the plot but.... I just grow bored with books where the main couple are not together. I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted, and grew bored in some parts. I love the couple, I love the author, but this book... not so much. I'm still looking forward to the next book in the series though, and I hope to see them together a lot more in it. I was gifted a copy.
Save your money and Simply Skip Simply Blair, and go straight to the final part Simply Austin. The author recaps books 2 & 3 in the first two pages of the final book, anyway.
Simply Blair can be summed up in just a few sentences: Blair gets amnesia while in London without Austin, loses all memory of him. Nigel swoops in and lies to her. Blair spends 187 pages doing the I can’t remember who I love routine. And quite frankly, there is just a lot of whining and dithering.
The author has to go to *very* great, manipulative, unbelievable lengths to keep Austin and Blair out of communication with each other. During the long 100+ pages of ‘who do I love’ dance, I don’t like either Blair or Austin very much, and I completely despise Nigel. So it was a pretty painful read, that I couldn’t wait to be over.
Luckily, M’s. Roberts ‘novels’ in this series are so short, you don’t spend very much time with any of them. /sarcasm

Another great book in the series. This book takes us through the journey of Blair losing part of her memory thanks to an accident and her slowly recovering and getting her memories of Austin and their love back. All the while, Nigel tries to get Blair back thanks to her memory loss and Blair almost falls for it, expect she finds some evidence that brings her memories back in full force and is able to help Austin out of a jam.
These characters are so lovely and as much as I want to devour all of these books in one go, I also don't want to be finished them because it will be hard to find another book that makes me want to devour it in one sitting again.
No really....these cliffhangers are murdering me. I can't handle them. Truly can't wait for the release of Simply Austin on September 15th. I can't even with this book. I knew I didn't like Nigel, but that guy is slime. Don't get me started on Randy Dickless. I loved the book as usual with this series, and fell even more in love with Austin and Blair. I didn't know that was possible. It's been a few weeks since I've been caught up in a book like this and I read a lot.
Absolutely love this Scottish themed love story, fictional worlds crossing with real life. Lots of feelings wrapped up in mystery and intrigue, throw in memory loss and scheming counterparts trying to usurp power. The power of friendship, family bonds and fated love can make all problems worthwhile.
Great work, I simply love Blair, Austin & his gang. Lots of action, fun parts and breath holding moments. Can so many bad things happen in such a short time, it was great, could not stop reading, for sure a page turner. Great work Gina I Can't wait for the next installment.
Wonderful love story about Jamie and Eleanor. She has forgotten about him due to a head injury. He is trying his best to get back to her and help her remember. Read on for more details
Excelente serie, me encanto!!! realmente muy bien escrita, adoro a los personajes!!! De todos los libros escritos por Gina Robinson, está es mi serie favorita!!!!
I really enjoyed book 1 & 2, hated the cliff-hanger endings, but had to know where it went & bought the following 2 books in the series. Book 1 was free, but the remaining books were a bit high priced IMO at $4.99 each. I normally don’t spend that much for books. This was definitely a unique story line, with humor & tears, & a keep you guessing plot. Blair & Austin’s chemistry is fantastic together, actually reading about them falling in love, as well -from book 1 thru book 4. I stayed up way to late, back to back nights, to finish the series because I couldn’t put it down. Book 3 is starting to loose the umpf that books 1 & 2 had, but not enough to not continue with the series. Great reading!
rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. again such a great book by Gina!! I felt bad for Austin and blair. i wanted to jump in the book and strangle that douchbag Randy blackballing him. poor Blair with a head injury after an accident and can't remember anything or anyone besides the scumbag nigel...another one I wanted to slap for telling Blair lies and getting in on the fame. austin is bound and determined to set things right with hia coding and with blair. blair also knows smtg is a miss as her thinking is unlike her and that nigel pays more attn to her...strangeness brewing. Will Blair get her memories back? will Austin be cleared to go rescue his woman?
I liked this book. Actually I liked the whole series. I got the first book for free and decided to read it because it hinted at the "Outlander" story. I am glad that I followed my instincts.
Simply Blair is Book 3 in the Jet City Kilt Series. This book takes quite a twist in the series. Love the intrigue!
Austin and Blair are on their way to England. Austin gets stopped by security at the airport. He thinks he won't be long and sends Blair on ahead. She's meeting her ex, Nigel in England to get her family ring back. Blair leaves their meeting upset and accidentally steps into traffic getting hit. Due to her injuries she has lost some of her memory. Nigel takes advantage of that and is trying to get Blair to fall in love with him again. I felt like he was almost kidnapping her. I just felt there was a hidden motive.
During this time poor Austin is also being held against his will. Out of contact with the outside world trying to prove his innocence.
