FINALLY, I am able to sit down and write this review!! Gosh, I finished this book what seems ages ago and I was not able to share it with you guys! Sheesh! Talk about life getting in the way!

Anyway...
This series keeps getting better and better! Seriously. Problems and situations seem to be getting more emotional and I am LOVING it. From the other two books in this series, I knew Jesse and Jamie Lynn had a past together, so I was curious to learn just what had happened that caused them to part ways when they so clearly loved each other.

Jamie Lynn had her fair share of issues that made her who she was now. She was a bit closed off but she had her reasons. Very valid reasons. And Jesse? Well, his story was a bit heart-breaking. When both main characters are broken, there is a lot of room for emotional angst and if you've been reading my blog for some time now, then you know that makes me super happy!

In order to move forward, Jesse and Jamie Lynn had to overcome a lot of insecurities and outside forces that were standing in the way of their own happily ever after. The road there was very interesting, angsty, sexy, and it had my full attention the entire time.

Now, to say I want the next book would be an understatement. It will be Rocco's book and I am beyond intrigued! You see, AJ Renee sure loves teasing her readers!

Duplicity by A.J Renee a fab four star read. This is the third book in the St Fleur series, it can be read as a stand-alone but the whole series makes great reading, you get to know all of the characters and the back stories, getting to know the little quirks about them makes it a better story to me personally. The series is so sweet, there is some spice in the story and some scenes of an adult nature so I would only recommend this book to over 18’s, but it’s not the main story line, that’s the love that’s shared, and not just the traditional love. If you have read any of the other books you will have been asking yourself why, why these two haven’t managed to take the final step together and in this book, we find out why.
Jamie Lynn has struggled hard for what she has and she has come to realise that people may leave, and she may be alone but she doesn’t need to be, she has a family and not all families share blood. Jamie Lynn has a lot of secrets and if she can learn to share them and accept that she doesn’t have to be alone then maybe Jesse would have a chance to show her how he feels.
Jesse has a past that he is trying to forget as well, he has had to overcome many things in his life, people’s attitudes toward him being different. If he can show Jamie Lynn that they aren’t so different after all, maybe he would get what he has been after.
AJ Renee gets better with every book, each story is stronger than the last and the characters are great they get more defined with every line.

What can I say about this book? I've been waiting a long time for Jaime Lynn and Jesse's story and it did not disappoint. Both of them are dealing with a lot of baggage and are hesitant when it comes to relationships. When they finally do give in a misunderstanding happens and we are back to square one. Once that issue is resolved we finally get we've all been waiting for since "Widower's Aura".

This story dealt with grief and abandonment issues and it hit home to me in several ways. At times I had to stop reading and compose myself as it brought up memories of my childhood. I love how each couple in this series are characters that you can connect and relate to while reading. Another plus about this story was that it's an interracial romance. I loved the diversity and so happy the author went this route. Everyone deserves love no matter the color of your skin is or the color of the person skin you fall in love with. The couple did face challenges and I liked the way the author wrote about it in this book.

Renee's writing has only gotten stronger since her debut novel and I'm always eager to read a new book by her in this series. Renee has a way of writing characters that you can relate and connect with and when you read it feels like you are part of the story. I can't wait for Rocco's book as he is another interesting character in this series!

Duplicity (St. Fleur Novel Book 3)
By: AJ Renee
5 out of 5 stars

The story Duplicity (St. Fleur Novel Book 3) by AJ Renee is a contemporary romance book. This is a beautiful love story where two people who know they are attracted to each other let their past affect their future. Can they overcome their fears to find their way to each other’s arms? From the very first book, I have loved the St. Fleur series. I love reading about each of the main characters and how they find each other and true love. This time it is Jamie Lynn and Jesse’s story.

Jamie Lynn’s past has her believing that everyone leaves. She doesn’t let herself fall in love for this reason. Then she meets Jesse when he responds to the ad she placed looking for a bartender. It is in their first meeting that a powerful attraction starts and she almost lets herself forget the past and move forward. Then in one day, a situation happens that to Jamie Lynn only validates her fears. What did Jamie Lynn see? Now their relationship is employee and employer, that’s it. Jesse has made it known that he still has feelings for Jamie Lynn. Will his efforts be in vain? Will he ever know the reason that Jamie Lynn won’t explore a relationship with him?

Jesse is a man that is trying to forget the past. A tragic situation has made him leave his hometown and the ad for a bartender in St. Fleur seems to be a good place to start. Then he meets Jamie Lynn. The attraction is instant and powerful. Jamie Lynn seems to be the one person who helps him to heal. While the attraction is still strong, Jesse has no idea why Jamie Lynn won’t take the next step with him. He has always made it clear that he wants more, can he get Jamie Lynn to change her mind? Can he break down the walls she has put around herself and her heart or does the past have too strong of a hold?

I loved the characters of Jamie Lynn and Jesse and have always rooted for them to get together. In this series, all of the characters overlap into the next and the mystery of why Jamie Lynn and Jesse are not together has been a constant since the beginning. If you have not read the first two books I highly recommend that you do. While each book revolves around one couple that is falling in love, it also updates you on the lives of the other characters. There is a series that made me laugh out loud at some of the situations that happen and also what the characters say. They are prone to say what they feel no matter how it comes out. It is one of the reason’s that I love this series. The author as created stories that touch your heart and has me believing that there is someone out there for everyone. When you find them hold on to them. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This story does include adult situations which include some very steamy romance scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

Third in this series is EPIC. I could not put down Jesse and Jamie Lynn's story. I was so anxious for their HEA. AJ wrote a heck of a novel. Duplicity is about Jamie Lynn and Jesse. We have seen them go back and forth in the first two novels. Now it is their time to address the elephant in the room and come to terms with what they know in their hearts.
Jamie Lynn is used to being closed of to preserve herself. She is used to everyone leaving and not staying. When all her fears are disproven, she has lost that security blanket she's built. Watching her come to the realization that her fears are nought is touching on an emotional level. Jamie Lynn is a strong woman. AJ wrote a woman with a business, who has struggled, endured, and survived. As an adult, I love that while she had her insecurities, she was level-headed about her business life. She grew in this story in so many ways. She learned that even with her guard up family is there at all times. They don't have to be blood. She also opened up to all the possibilities of opening her heart to Jesse and the other characters. I had a chuckle moment when Marc made a murder comment. I could picture this whole book playing out in my head like a movie.
Jesse has more secrets than the government LOL. I was surprised by them. Couldn't see some of them coming until AJ wanted me to. Talk about pulling wool over my eyes AJ. Seriously, normally I can see what's going to happen but I was shocked on many levels with him. Jesse was the total package and swoon worthy doesn't do him justice. You could feel his strength, heartache, love, and fight. He is everything you want in a man. Watching him step up and conquer Jamie Lynn's fears just cemented him as all things sugar and spice.
I cannot talk a lot about this story because there are so many spoilers and I refuse to do that to y'all. Obviously from the cover you see it's an interracial romance. AJ handled this flawlessly. She had a way about her writing that made you feel the emotions of the characters. The topics are heavy at times, but she balances them in a way that is realistic. I LOVED this story. As you read, you can see the heart and soul put in this one (loved the others too). It knocked it out of the park for me. AJ has done it again writing a heck of a story.

Some fave lines:
"Walker," he whispered, "look what you do to me. If you would only let me in, you'd see you're it. There is no one else."

"I've been dying to know if your skin is as soft as it looks."

"I don't want to hurt you. It would kill me."

"I love her, have for a long time."

I have so many more, but don't want to spoil it.

Duplicity is the third book in the St. Fleur series by A.J Renee.
We have met these characters in the previous books, Jamie Lynn Walker is Lindsay and Sophia’s friend and the owner of ‘Whiskey’s’ bar. She is a little guarded when it comes to her heart; as she firmly believes that everyone she loves will eventually leave. In her thirty seven years she has experienced quite a lot of heartache and was left to raise her little sister after her mother passed away.
Jesse Slade was so haunted by the memories that surrounded him in his home town of New Orleans that he moved to St. Fleur in an attempt start over and to find a little peace. That was three years ago when he applied for the bar tending position and has been Jaime’s right hand man ever since. There was always a connection and spark between the two, at one point they looked like they were taking it to the next level, but due to secrets and misunderstandings, it never got to progress between them. Jesse is still very interested and has come to a point where he is determined to find a way. Will they get their chance to explore the connection between them? When everything is revealed, will they move forward together, or will it be over between them, forever?
This is a really sweet story that will hold you attention from beginning to end. Another wonderful addition to this beautiful series and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Renee does next.

Thank you Ms. Renee!

Jaime Lynn has lived by the same mantra her whole life, Everyone Leaves… but since moving to the town of St. Fleur she finds herself questioning that mantra, as she continues to ground herself to the community and her two friends; Sofia and Lindsay. When Jesse walks into interview to become the bartender at Whiskey’s Jaime Lynn’s Pub, she immediately knows she is about to make a bad decision in hiring him due to the powerful attraction she quickly felt. But when she accepts his invitation to explore the evident attraction between them she learns that not everyone gets or deserves a Happily Ever After.
Jesse arrives in St. Fleur hoping to find peace, his safe haven from the life he left behind in New Orleans. What he doesn’t expect to discover is the women who will bring the light back to his life, banish the nightmares and get him to rediscover his hopes and dreams.

But finally, when the truth is revealed, something must be in the stars in order for Jesse & Jaime Lynn finally coming together and start a new journey where they can fight their past and heal for the future.

Duplicity is book 3 in the St. Fleur Series, from author A.J. Renee. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but for the best reading experience read this whole series you won’t be disappointed. This is my Third book from this author, and I cannot wait to see what other great stories I can read from this author, and what else she will bring to this series.

This book was another brilliant addition to this series. It was defiantly less action packed with suspense than the other two in this series, but it was still filled with action between the characters whether in the bedroom or even out. These two had a brilliant dynamic through book 1 and book 2 that you could clearly read was undeniable and sizzling hot, yet you never understood why each of them were fighting their relationship/feeling or connection for so long. I couldn’t put this read down. I loved reading about the two characters in this book they are captivating to read and I liked everything about them. I liked that we got to see flashback from both Jaime Lynn POV and Jesse’s POV as we get to see where their connection first happened and the reasons why they were fighting each other so much.

We got a brilliant mix of love, friendship and family in this book and we got a great introduction to some new characters that we haven’t met till this book. These characters have now got a great opening for their story to be told, and for them to find love.

I loved the chemistry that these two characters had. Once they finally stopped fighting their feeling’s and the truths had finally been revealed their relationship developed into something quicker than either of them thought but they were real together and completely right for one another.
These characters have such a real connection, they have trust in each enough to reveal things that neither of them had spoken about since coming to St. Fleur but I think that is what both of them needed at that point in their life. They quickly broke down each other walls, that they had built up and slowly help piece each other back together.
This book had me smiling throughout the book with seeing their connection blossom and change. These two are defiantly an incredible couple as they each balance each other out, heal each other and have an undeniable connection inside and out.

This book was written in Dual POV’S, unlike most books each chapter states who POV we are reading from, this one didn’t but you could immediately tell whose part we were reading, it flowed seamlessly from chapter to chapter.

Jaime Lynn was a mystery to us in book 1 and 2. We knew she had a great friendship with Sofia & Lindsay, but you also never knew the pain that she was hiding from her past, one that she lives with everyday just waiting for the next person to leave. What she takes too long to realise is the one person who holds her heart the most who she is afraid will break her heart is the one person that has never left and proved himself numerous times. She is strong, independent, beautiful inside and out. She is determined and loves her work and her pub. I love how she supports Jesse even after all secrets have been revealed on both side, and how she continues to heal him from the unbearable pain he has been suffering with.

Jesse, has always been another constant in book 1 and 2 and once again you could practically feel the connection him and Jaime Lynn denied and shared. I like that we get to read his back story, and see his story of how he heals after the time he lives in St. Fleur and being around Jaime Lynn. He is protective, possessive (especially after the hot wings incident) sometimes jealous but he will not put up without a fight to prove how deep his feeling for Jaime Lynn really goes.

These two have an undeniable connection that is sizzling from the start. I’m glad they don’t fight their feelings for long and come to realise together is where they belong. I was disappointed with that ending though!!! But that also makes me more excited for Book 4.

Duplicity (St. Fleur Novel Book 3) by AJ Renee is the third book in her St. Fleur series. I story can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend that you read the previous two books in this series. They will give you additional information on these characters that make the story flow better for you. One of the things I enjoy about this author is how she can create a story that pulls you in from the first word. You will enjoy her creativity of characters and her ability to introduce new characters without the awkwardness. These characters will take you on a roller coast ride of various emotions from compassion to hot sexy romance. This story is about two people who let their past dictate what their future could be. Find out what happens with these characters, will they let go of their pasts to see a future with each other?

Jamie Lynn has lived with the thought that everyone leaves for most of her life. She has rooted herself to St. Fleur with opening up a pub, questioning the only attitude she has even known. When she is in search of a new bartender, she meets him. She decides to hire him despite knowing it may be a bad decision on her part. What will happen when she gives in to their attraction? Will she give this relationship a chance before she shuts it down? What will she do when she is reminded that not everyone gets a happily ever after?

Jesse is in search of some solace when he decided to leave everything he has ever known including he memories that haunt him. Then he meets her. Will she be his light to his darkness? Will she bring back his hopes and dreams? When the truth comes out, will he convince her to give their relationship a try? When he is offered a gift that he has always wanted, what will he do?

Jamie Lynn and Jesse's relationship is one of attraction from first site but also it is a boss, employee relationship. They have been fighting their attraction for each other for a few years. She is not willing to get her heart broke and lose a good employee. He doesn't know why she is fighting the attraction. Will he convince her to give them another try? These are two strong characters both together and separately. She has a fear of everyone leaving her and getting hurt. He is just broken from his past. Will they learn that they just need to let go of the past to move forward? They complement each other and will plain just make you laugh with their banter. The secondary characters will also make you laugh and help keep the story flowing. You will enjoy seeing what happened to them after seeing them in the previous stories. They are supportive to the two main characters. Jamie Lynn never realized that when Jessie walked through her pub door that her life will change forever. Will they find the HEA?

This series by AJ Renee is one of my favorite. The stories keep you engaged and keep you turning pages. I enjoy her writing style, it makes it easier to read. AJ is a military wife and mother to three children. She has lived in Florida where she got her Master in Science in Criminal Justice and Bachelors of Science of Psychology. She never expected to find herself writing verses what she went to school for. When she is not shuttling her children around, you will find her at her laptop creating. This is a fast paced story that I read in one sitting because I had a hard time putting it down. You enjoy how the characters will pop right off the page and into your heart. They will leave you wanting more with every page you turn. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see what happens with these characters as they start a journey of healing together.

Duplicity is the third book in the St Fleur series and follows the growing chemistry between Jamie Lynn and Jesse.

Jamie Lynn has had heartbreak follow her whole life, after her father leaving the family home when she was six, to her mother dying in an accident and that Jamie Lynn had to look after her younger sister Charlotte Mae. The one great thing she has worked hard to own is her pub in St Fleur, Whiskey’s. Over the years Charlotte Mae has worked there on her days off but it is time to hire a new member of the team, so while they are interviewing for a new bar person in walks a man which makes Jamie Lynn believe she is alive.

After a working interview where this man nails the drinks he is making but also will fit in well with Jamie Lynn. Although Jamie Lynn is worried of her attraction to this hunk Charlotte is prepared to push her sister into hiring him.

Jesse walked into the little pub in St Fleur wanting to erase the hurt he has felt over the past six months, but as he walks into Whiskey’s the owner Jamie Lynn ignites something inside him her thought has been gone when tragedy struck and he thought he would not survive the years without his love. Roll on to a year he has been working in the pub and he and Jamie Lynn have a moment which he has been waiting for, so after being interrupted he decides to ask her out on a date in New Orleans. As Jamie Lynn is going to the date she sees something which jolts her and turns around and drives back to St Fleur and stands up Jesse.

Roll forward three years and it’s the day of Sophia and Noah’s wedding and everything is going well, she and Jesse are sniping at each other as usual until after the ceremony something snaps between the two of them and they decide to explore the chemistry which has been building for the past three years. Will they finally put the past behind both of them and fan the fire of desire or will Jesse's past bite them on the arse or will the Jamie Lynn be able to put the past behind them and concentrate on the future.

I have to say that this book is my favourite of the series so far, I wanted this story to understand the chemistry between these two characters but knowing my gut that there had to be reason why they had not investigate the chemistry in the past. I loved the way that Jamie Lynn is such a strong female character but she has her flaws and insecurities with the new fledged relationship, also with the story of Jesse losing someone so precious to him but feeling guilty that he loves Jamie is a great internal storyline battle. I believe you can read this book as a stand alone but to be honest you will want to read about Sophia and Noah’s story with a sprinkling of Lindsay and Marc’s story. I wishing the next book if there is one will be regarding Charlotte or James, either way I can’t wait.

Duplicity (St. Fleur Novel Book 3) by AJ Renee

5 Stars

I could say that this was my favorite of the three books in this series so far, but it would not be true...each one of the books in this series is my favorite, lol I just simply adore everything about each one. This one was special because these two people, Jaime Lynn and Jesse have been in each of the first two, and I couldn't wait to read their stories and why they were the way they were and why they did the things they did.

Jaime Lynn owns Whiskey’s, a pub in St. Fleur, a place where everyone that's anyone goes to in town. She has the best friends, a fantastic supportive sister that she pretty much raised after their mom died in a horrible accident and is pretty much loved by everyone. She is haunted by a past that she hasn't shared with anyone and stays away from any kind of relationships or thoughts of ever having a family of her own. She can't because she knows and lives by the fact that “everyone leaves”.

Jesse was hired by Jamie Lynn to be the bartender at Whiskey’s, he is also haunted by a tragic past, a past in New Orleans, that he just had to escape from if even for just a little while.

Jesse and Jaime Lynn were attracted to each other from the first moment they met. He came in for an interview and Jaime Lynn knew she shouldn't hire him, how in the world would she work with this man that made her body and mind feel the way he did. She took a chance and hired him anyway. Their attraction leads them to take a chance and see if there was anything real between them. That was two years ago, two years since she was going to meet him for their first date and he proved what she always believed, he was a liar and no matter what anyone says..they always leave.

For 2 years he has worked side by side with this infuriating woman, and he still doesn't know what he did wrong, but he can't help how he feels, and he wants her no matter what. When the truth finally comes out bringing the secrets of his past with it these two finally decide to give it another shot. Will their pasts allow them to be together or tear them apart for good? When he receives a letter from his past and it's everything he always wanted, can he have it all or will he just prove Jaime Lynn’s mantra of “everyone leaves” to be true?

Thank you AJ Renee for another awesome story, I can not wait for the next in this series, I will be one clicking the minute it's available.I guess you could read this as a standalone, but I would not recommend it, to appreciate these two characters and of course the other characters in this book you really have to read them in order... Loved loved loved it!!!!

Title:Duplicity
Author:A.J. Renee
Series: St. Fleur #3
Pages: 300

Duplicity was a great 5 star read. This is book three in the St. Fleur series.

My heart got tore right out in the very beginning, what a way to start a book. I felt so bad for Jaime Lynn.

We jump ahead thirty years, Jaime has bought her own pub, Whiskey’s and everything is going great. She also has a younger sister that means the world to her. I have to say I really enjoyed the bachelorette party scene, Jaime is out with the girls watching some hot as sin strippers and the contest she finds herself in was great.

Jesse had to get away from New Orleans and getting the job at Whiskey’s was perfect. He was also very attracted to the owner Jaime, she brought up feelings he hadn’t had in a long time. Like riding a bike, his body knew what it wanted, how it wanted it, and how much it needed it.

Ever since Jaime hired Jesse to bartend she has been fighting her attraction to him. At one point she thought he felt the same until she witnessed something that changed her mind and for the past three years she has been keeping him at arm's length.

When Jesse finally has had enough he forces Jaime to talk to him and tell him why she changed her mind. When he explains some things to Jaime, it makes complete sense and they end up trying to make things work. These two have things from their past that they are trying to move forward from. Can they get past the memories and be happy?

Jesse made her forget about all the things that could go wrong.

There are more things revealed that added a great element to their story. I had some ugly crying moments. I really enjoyed reading their story and seeing these two come together was great. You could feel their attraction and when they finally connected it was hot. All of the secondary characters were great, I had several lol moments. I wouldn’t mind seeing more from this couple. A.J. Renee does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing and you won’t put it down until your done. 1-click and get started today on the St. Fleur series.

Book Review: Duplicity (A St. Fleur Series Novel Book #3)
Author: AJ Renee
FIVE STARS
Duplicity has its moments where you just think NO they are not going to ever make this work, and then Jesse just takes matters into his own hands and just finally gets everything out into the open and makes Jamie Lynn tell him what has happened to make her push him into the friend zone for the last 2 years. When he learns what has happend, Jesse decides he needs to finally open up about what happened in his past, he needs to let Jamie Lynn know who he is and why he is in St. Fleur.
Jamie Lynn is used to people leaving. Her father walked away when she was six, her step father left them, her mother died when she was 18. Now she has guarded herself so much that she doesn't know if she will ever be able to open herself up to anyone let alone the sexy man that she just hired to be a bar tender in her own pub. Jamie Lynn is all tied up in emotions and feelings where Jesse is concerned but when she saw him with another woman that pretty much wrapped it up that she would not let herself be with him because she would NOT share.
Now that the truth has come out, will there be a chance for them to try to explore the feelings they have for one another or is there another girl in the picture that will cause them to be ripped apart even before things can get going?
AJ Renee writes a very insipiring love story here and deals with some pretty tough subjects but it is very well written. I have read this entire series now and I am in love with her Alpha male subjects and her strong female leads. The way they all come together and just meld it is pretty awesome to read.
This series should be read by mature audiences only 18+ as there are some very steamy sexual occurances. I cannot wait to see what AJ does in the next book.
I really enjoy reading AJ Renee's books and hope that you do too!!

Duplicity is the third book in the St Fleur series by A J Renee and again is another fantastic read from this author. Having read and loved the first two books in the series I would highly recommend that they are read in order just so you can understand the dynamics of this group of friends. I was really looking forward to reading this book because Jamie Lynn and Jesse have always been in the background of the first two books and even as secondary characters the tension and chemistry between them was quite apparent. I couldn’t wait to find out just what was going on with them and I have to admit I wasn’t expecting their story to be so emotional. I had always liked Jamie Lynn and her feisty ways, she is a really good friend to both Sofia and Lindsey (who still feature in this book). I loved that she was a strong, independent business woman who knew her own mind. Despite her own past she frequently shows in the story that she has survived the best she can. I loved the relationship she had with her sister and friends. The character in this story that I wasn’t quite prepared for was Jesse. I think it’s fair to say he stole my heart quite quickly! I was just so heartbroken for him as he started to reveal and open up about his past. I liked that the story was told in both the past and the present so we could get a real clear picture of Jamie Lynn and Jesse’s relationship and how (especially Jamie Lynn) they had fought their attraction to each other for so long. There were a few pretty sensitive subjects talked about in the book but the author does an amazing job of addressing these and writing about them sensitively. I loved how both Jamie Lynn and Jesse were able to heal each other and take a chance on a relationship.
This is, yet again, another beautifully written story from A. J. Renee and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

Duplicity is book three is AJ Renee's St. Fleur series. I was so so excited about this book. I read them out of order (two, one, three) BUT I was already dying to hear Jesse and Jamie Lynns story and why she acted as though she didn't know he was interested.

Jamie Lynn Walker is thirty seven and not very open. She had to raise her little sister after her step dad left and her mom passed. Her real father left when she was just a child and it broke her. I can so relate to to her character with having "daddy issues." But through all of it, Jamie Lynn opened a pub in town, Whiskeys. She has her best friends Lindsey and Sofia but if she's being honest with herself, she always keeps them at a distance.

Jesse Slade had lost what was most important to him. When that happened he lost a little bit of himself too. But moving on proved difficult as he didn't want to feel guilty about it. He doesn't talk about it, in fact he doesn't talk about much. Being the one of the only black men in the small town has made it hard, people still make comments and some refuse to come into his place of work but he doesn't let it bother him. He's been dying to get to know Jamie Lynn personally since the day she hired him, things just haven't worked out but he's determined.

Sometimes it's the right person but he wrong time, or just the completely wrong person, but you'll find that out. Jesse and Jamie Lynn had explored their feelings once before a few years ago but things didn't work out due to secrets that had been kept. That didn't mean that the pull between them wasn't there anymore, because it definitely was.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I cannot believe it ended like that. Just rude AJ! This store was awesome and so full of steamy scenes! These two definitely got it on. I am happy with the way things turned out and the love Jesse has for someone I won't mention is incredible. You need to read these books. I cannot wait to continue the journey in this town!

Duplicity (St. Fleur Book 3)
by: AJ Renee
5 Stars
Duplicity is the third book in the St. Fleur Series, even though you could read this book alone, I highly recommend you read the first two books in the series. It sets the pace of this book and has a lot that happens in the first two about the couple and how they got along. The author really outdone herself on this book. From the first word I was hooked and she makes your feel like you are a part of the story. You fall in love with the characters and I was so disappointed when I got to the end I wanted more.
Everyone leaves ..........
This is Jamie Lynn's mantra. When she was little her father, who was her best friend and she loved him very much, walks away from her without an explanation. She is devastated thinking she did something horrible to make him leave her. Her mother remarried and had Charlotte Mae and Jamie Lynn got along with him, then one day he just disappears without an explanation. Then her mother dies and that leaves her to raise Charlotte Mae. Jamie Lynn has built walls around her heart to keep her safe. She has two good friends Sophia and Lindsey and owned the bar Whiskeys.
Jesse is trying to move on from his tragic past, so he decides to move to St. Fleur and start over. He needs to get away from the memories that haunt him. He sees an add for a bar tender so he applies and the minute he walks into the bar the attraction between him and Jamie Lynn sends an electric shock to his brain. Will she be able to heal his ravaged heart and bring daylight back to him?
This story is about grief, loss, and abandonment. Jamie has kept Jesse on the friends list for two years and he takes matters into his own hands and begs her to tell him why? Once all the cards are on the table and secrets are revealed will they be able to make a relationship work.

The third book in the St Fleur series, Duplicity by AJ Renee is easily the best so far. Rounding off the trio of friends this time we delve into the mystery that is Jamie Lynn and the secret she has kept hidden for the past two years.

“If you would only let me in, you’d see you’re it. There is no one else.”

Jamie Lynn Walker has always been closed off. Only really close to her sister, she has friends but no one that she would consider opening up to. No one that she would say loves her. And that is just how she likes it. Even if it means she has to keep her irresistible bar tender at arm’s length. That should be easy enough to do. Especially since she has been doing it for the past two years.

“Every kiss, touch, and thrust has been an expression of how he felt.”

Jessie Slade is in love with his boss. He can’t deny it any more. And yet he can’t keep on living the way he is. Jamie Lynn refuses to tell him what happen all those years ago, when she finally agreed to give him a chance, only to not show up with no explanation. He has to do something or else he will go out of his mind. Enough is enough, he will get the answers he deserves and then he will get the girl he loves.

Just as everything seems to be falling into place a huge force from his past surfaces, threatening everything he has built in his present. Jessie has to try and find and way to merge the two, even when the two have no idea the other existed.

As much as I loved the second book in the series this one took my breath away. I loved the back and forth between the characters. It felt like I could feel the tension between the two of them. I craved them getting together, and when it finally happened I hoped that they would do everything they could to fight for it. A great way to end the series. This is my favourite book out of all of them.

Duplicity ( St. Fleur , Book 3 )
By AJ Renee
5/5 Stars

I have read all three books in this series, and they all are wonderful!! This is an incredible series full of lots of love and laughter. Sometimes , the friends you have turn into all the family you'll ever need!
AJ Renee out did herself with this book! It made me laugh AND cry from beginning to end. It is definitely a page turner, you will not be able to put this book down! You'll want to read it in one sitting, needing to know what happens!!
Jamie Lynn is a smart, beautiful and feisty thirty-seven year old woman. She has two lovely best friends, Sofia and Arianna. Even a younger sister, Charlotte Mae, who she considers a best friend. But one thing is missing, love…
She has built these huge walls around her, protecting her fragile heart. She has believed her whole life, starting at a very young age… that everyone she loves, leaves. She has always felt she isn't good enough and wonders daily, what's wrong with her.
She owns and runs the local Pub, Whiskey’s in St. Fleur. She has a lot of regulars and newbies, going through town often. She has built this no nonsense kind of reputation.
When she puts an ad in the newspaper for a bartender. Jesse Slade, new to the town, applies. He gets the job and their attraction to one another is instant. They try their hardest to keep their relationship strictly job related. But they can't, they feel something… something that neither one has ever experienced before.
But someone from Jesse’s past ,returns. Will it tear Jesse and Jamie Lynn apart? Or will it bring them closer together?? Will they both get the happily ever after they both desire so much??
You must read this book to see what happens with Jesse and Jamie Lynn. It's a phenomenal love story, one you won't soon forget!! Another amazing job, AJ Renee!!

Duplicity by AJ Renee is the third book in the St. Fleur novels. In this book, we finally get the answer to the question that has been bugging me since book one. Why aren’t Jaime Lynn and Jesse together?
Jaime Lynn hasn’t always had the easiest life. It is this fact that has leas her to one inevitable conclusion, everyone leaves. She has lived her life following that simple motto, not letting anyone get to close to her and most certainly not falling in love. She doesn’t have time for that any with starting her own business in St. Fleur. At least that’s what she thought until she met the man interviewing for the bartender position at her new pub, Jesse. The attraction between the two is automatic an undeniable. Unfortunately, Jaime lets her past interfere with what could be her future.
Jesse is a man with his own past, his own skeletons in the closet. Moving for his home in New Orleans and hoping for a fresh start he has no idea what he’s in store for when he walks into that pub and sees Jaime for the first time. Unable to help himself he finds himself drawn to her like a moth to flame. Just when he thinks that he might be making progress toward them being something more than just boss and employee Jaime starts to pull away. Can Jesse discover why she put her walls back up? Will they ever be able to put the past behind them and move into the future together?
It’s not surprising to me that I give this book a five-star rating. The author knows how to write about characters that feel for lack of a better fraise, human. You laugh and love with these characters as you watch them fall head over heels for each other. I love seeing some of the characters from the earlier books make appearances to. Really ties all the books together in their own little world. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Wow, A. J. Renee does it again. A fabulous five star rating for Duplicity. I really love Ms. Renee’s stories and in this the third installment of the St. Fleur books, she has really outdone herself.
Ms. Renee can really write a love story. This time it’s Jesse and Jaime Lynn’s story. There is so much going on with these two it is hard to keep up. If Ms. Renee weren’t such a fantastic writer, this story could get really confusing. However, Ms. Renee keeps everything in order and tidy and I had no trouble keeping up with the story and keeping it straight. I think this is because Ms. Renee writes in such fine detail that it makes it easy to figure out what is going on and how it all fits together. Not that there aren’t surprises a plenty. I love her sense of humor and the “hot wing” incident makes a comeback, tying one of her former books to this one and making a really nice piece of continuity. Some of the most successful authors can do this. They tie their books and characters together so well that you care and wonder about them throughout the series. I love this about A.J. Renee and her writing. She not only writes a great love story, she keeps us engaged with the people she has written about in previous books.
Ms. Renee writes a complex story with a lot of texture and visual intricacy. She is a master of description and that keeps me interested in her books and stories. The thing that really impresses me about Ms. Renee’s writing is that she really cares about her characters. You can tell that her characters are alive to her because she writes them so well and in such detail that they come alive to me as well. Their problems and how they solve them really matter to me and I look forward to each and every book she writes. Thank you Ms. Renee for writing this story. Well done.ww-

Duplicity is the first story that I have read by AJ Renee. It is the third book in the St. Fleur series but can be read as a standalone. There are references to their friends, whose stories must be told in Widower’s Aura, book one and Always Mine, book two. After reading this book I plan on getting the first two right away!

I loved how this author included race as a characteristic of the people throughout the story but didn’t use it as a major reason for everything that happened to them. I also loved that the characters didn’t freak out when another person, male or female, talked to their boyfriend/girlfriend. No crazy reactions to their jealous feelings, yes they were unhappy and they made it clear that they were together but no crazy reactions. I loved that some words were used meaning one thing but able to be used as something else. For example; the title itself has more than one meaning in this story. Of course I won’t be telling you what exactly those meanings are so go ahead and one click it for yourself!

Jaime Lynn Walker is a grown woman crushed by her father and men in general. Jesse Slade is a grown man crushed by the death of his fiancé. Both have given up on the idea of a happily ever after until they set eyes on each other. But what kind of story would this be if they met, fell in love and lived happily ever after? A plot twist was certainly needed to add a little drama and to cause a little…well a lot of sexual tension for Jaime Lynn and Jesse. Reading about their time together and their ability to love was worth it.

I am recommending you take a chance on AJ Renee and Duplicity and if this story is any indication about the rest of the series, I will be recommending the series as well.

An amazing 5 star read for Duplicity, A St. Fleur Novel, Book 3, by AJ Renee.

This is Jaime Lynn and Jesse’s book. We have seen the chemistry between these 2 since the beginning. Now we get into the nitty gritty of them both.
Jaime Lynn is used to men exiting her life and never returning. She just knows to keep her guard up. When she moved to St. Fleur and opened up her bar, she knew life was going to change. When Jesse walks into her bar for the head bartender job, she knows it's a bad idea to hire him but she does anyway. Jesse has had his own string of bad luck in the past. The attraction between the two is immediate and so strong. After going back and forth, Jaime Lynn finally agrees to go out on a date with him and see what might possibly be between them. Arriving early for their date, she gets a reminder of why she doesn't do relationships. Jesse knows that there is something special between them and refuses to let it go. He has lost enough in his past and will not lose Jaime Lynn too!!! She is exactly what he needs and he plans on doing whatever he has to, to prove it to her. After years of desire and attraction, they decide to try again. Jaime Lynn soon sees that everything is not what it seems to be and is shocked when she realizes that what she thought she witnessed, wasn't what it actually was. Is it possible that Jesse is one of the good guys?

You need this book, author and series in your life!!! I can not say enough good things about it! The characters are lovable, hot, sweet and sexy all wrapped into one present. I can not wait to see what St. Fleur has in store for us next.

Duplicity is the third book in the St. Fleur series by AJ Renee and I have been waiting to read the story about Jamie Lynn and Jesse. Duplicity is a contemporary romance and is a beautiful love story where one of the two main characters have let their past affect their future. As with the first two books AJ did not disappoint, it is just as captivating and engaging.

Jamie Lynn owns the pub in town and hired Jesse to work as a bartender. She knew she was in trouble when she first laid eyes on him and would be a mistake to hire him but hire him she did. Jamie Lynn is unable to let go of her past in which she believes everyone leaves her and because of this she doesn’t let anyone in, not even her friends.

Jesse is a man who had his future ripped away from him. In order to move on he needs to leave behind his past. When he applies for the job of a bartender in St. Fleur he hopes he can leave his past behind. When he meets Jamie Lynn he hopes she may be the answers he has been looking for. The attraction between the two is instant but Jesse has no idea what he may have done or why Jamie Lynn won’t take the next step with him.

Will Jamie Lynn finally let her guard down? Will she finally let Jessie in? Will Jessie finally find out the truth? Can Jessie get Jamie Lynn to change her mind? Will Jessie finally break down the walls?

This series and this book will make you laugh out loud at the situations and antics that these characters get up to. These Alpha men will have you heart breaking. The friendships that are family will have you believing you are a part of their world. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Duplicity, by AJ Renee, is the third book in the St. Fleur series. This novel is a contemporary interracial romance. Duplicity is Jaime Lynn's story whose character we met in each of the two previous novels in the St. Fleur series: Widower's Aura and Always Mine. This story continues with Louisiana traits and traditions. It carried through the series seamlessly and holds true to what we know in regards to southern values and interactions. Noting this is an interracial romance, it does touch briefly on some of the unfortunate stereotypes that are held on today, but the author handles them brilliantly in the story.

In Duplicity, we learn much more in regards to Jaime Lynn's character to include what has shaped her to create her unique outlook on life and relationships. Jaime Lynn is fiercely independent and that carries through strongly at the start of this book, as well as, in the previous books in the series. As mentioned, the author delves deeper into Jaime Lynn and we see significant character development and growth in this novel.

Jesse is a small supporting character in the previous two novels, where it is hinted that he has a strong desire to be with Jaime. We do not know why they have not grown beyond their professional relationship until now and I definitely did not expect what we are given with the details provided in this story. Wow! I personally loved Jesse's character and felt he was just the right mix of some southern comforting gentleman.

AJ Renee is a masterful storyteller in this series and has completely blown me away. I do recommend reading the stories in this series in order so you can learn the back story on each of the characters.

Duplicity is the third book in A.J. Renee’s St. Fleur series and I absolutely loved it! I was counting down they days until I could read it! I fell in love with her city of St. Fleur in Louisiana while reading the previous books and I could not wait for her to grace us with Jaime Lynn and Jesse’s story!
So, Duplicity is the story of Jaime Lynn and Jesse, the story spans actually multiple years, in a way, and I loved how much we learn about our characters thanks to the way how the writer takes us on the journey of two people finally finding each other. I had waited for their story for such a long time! The writer kept us teasing in the first two books so I knew when I got the book that I had to put aside enough time to be able to inhale it in one go! (like an addict!).
I loved both of the characters – Jaime Lynn with her expectations that everyone leaves and no one stays and her strength and business acumen and her loyalty to her friends and her love of her little sister and her doubts and insecurity when it comes to Jesse … and Jesse, his secrets and his strength and his heartache and his love and his willingness to finally fight for what and whom he loves!
I think that A.J. Renee simply gets better with every single book in this series and I am so looking forward to the next one! I wonder who it will be about. Jamie Lynn’s little sister Charlie or … Pick up a copy and you will not regret! You will enjoy the time you will be spending with our friends in St. Fleur, Louisiana!

Duplicity – St Fleur Novel Book 3 by AJ Renee 5 Stars

Duplicity is the third book in the St. Fleur Series and it can be read as a standalone. From the dedication: “To my girls. My wish for you is to find love that lasts an eternity. May you always find the beauty of others that lies deep within” to “The End”, I enjoyed every aspect of this book.

The St. Fleur series is about a group of friends, whose lives interconnect and become a close and nurturing family of choice. Each story focuses on a particular couple.

The story of Jamie Lynn and Jesse explores family of origin vs. family of choice.
We first met Jesse and Jamie Lynn in the previous two stories. She is the owner of a local watering hole called “The Whiskey” and he is her right hand guy. They met three years ago when he applied for the bartending position and they have ignored their sparks and mutual attraction the entire time. Jamie Lynn’s past causes her to live her life with certain expectations while Jesse is trying to move in a direction away from the memories of his past.

This was my favorite story of the series so far. The interaction between Jesse and Jamie Lynn is light and fun until it isn’t. Being introduced to Jesse’s family of origin and of heart gave great insight into how he ticks. As always, Jamie Lynn is supported on the whole journey by her friends.

I am really looking forward to reading more of these friends.

It is so easy to let one single moment in our lives define who we are, what we do, and the success of our futures. One moment can make us, or break us, and this story does an awesome job of showing you how ! Where there is laughter, there is sadness. Where there is love, there is hatred. In this story, there are perfect examples of what kind of bigotry still exists in our world. There are perfect examples of what others see without needing words, and how what other see might not always meet the eye. It seems every single person has their own story, and sometimes where the heart is concerned, we are blind to ask the appropriate questions, causing chaos, inwardly and outwardly. That’s what this story is about. Jamie and Jesse both have hurtful memories from their past that they hold onto, and differences to work past, in order to make a future happen. I started reading this book, because I read the book in the series prior to it, Always Mine, and I’m the kind of person who can’t read one, without reading them all. I enjoyed Always Mine immensely, and read it in a day. The same is true for Duplicity! These 2 books are so very different from each, with the characters from the first being up front and centre in the second. The plots are VERY different, the tone is different, the stage is different. If I didn’t know, I wouldn’t have guessed the same person wrote both! Renee is a delightful author, and I’m looking forward to whatever I can find from her next!

Duplicity by AJ Renee
Four Stars

Duplicity is the third book in the St. Fleur Series by AJ Renee. This is the third book I have read by this author and I can't believe they keep getting better and better. I love the in depth character descriptions that make you feel like you are part of the story. I believe you could read this story as a stand alone, but I can not think of one reason why you would want to. This contemporary love story is about a couple that know they have feelings for each other, but keep letting the past getting in the way. This book ran the emotions, laughing one minute and reaching for the tissue box the next. I read this book in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down.

Jamie Lynn has always felt that anyone close to her leaves, so she has built a wall around herself. She doesn't want to let anyone in and have the chance to hurt her. Jamie Lynn owns a bar, Whiskeys, and is looking for a bartender.

Jesse is leaving his tragic past behind. He has just moved to St. Fluer to start a new life. He sees the help wanted sign and go in to apply for the job. As soon as Jamie Lynn and Jesse’s eyes meet there is an instant attraction. Jamie Lynn is reluctant to give Jesse the job, but decides to go against her gut. Will these two be able to put the past behind them? Will they learn trust each other enough to let their relationship grow? This is a great summer read and I truly look forward to see what Ms Renee has in store for us next.

Duplicity by A.J. Renee is the third book in the St. Fleur series. This can be read as a standalone book but I rather enjoyed it more because I had seen the main characters as minor characters in the first two books in the series. This story focuses on Jaime Lynn and Jessie. Jaime Lynn has a negative view of men in general. She thinks they are great but believes that she cannot count on one to stick around for any length of time. Jesse is from New Orleans and is new to St. Fleur. He is only wanting a little bit of peace after leaving his hometown. The two of them start off on the wrong foot due to a misunderstanding. Once the misunderstanding is resolved all bets are off. Can the two of them learn to trust and love again?
Jaime Lynn is great. She is a friend, a sister, and owns her own business. She is strong but also has some flaws. For her she has a hard time trusting people but especially men. Jesse is strong and handsome. He knows that he wants Jaime Lynn in his life but has his own issues he needs to come to terms with. Also, he has a difficult task of getting around Jaime Lynn’s walls. The two of them are strong and passionate. In the other books, there were hints of this blossoming relationship but it had always hit a wall. Now we get to enjoy the story and relationship of two great characters.
