Highly recommended An engrossing book I could not put down; and the first time I missed the clues, but I loved the way the characters interacted, baring their emotions and inner thoughts. An intriguing insight into what life was like just a century ago in London for unwanted children. Yes, it is a gritty novel, and the story of similar unfortunates needs to be told. I loved the book, and aspects of it still haunt me now, as in last night when they entered my dreams. Thank you Carla Acheson for bringing your gift of writing into my life. Jonno
