Trapped on a world that doesn't understand him!! Groot is stuck on a strange alien planet, but the first step in finding a way home is for someone who can translate "I am Groot." This isn't gonna be easy…
I know GOTG is known for its wild, over the top, extremely abstract environments... and that is exactly what you get here. I do appreciate this newly presented alien world and its denizens from a creativity and originality perspective.
However, I can't help but wonder how Hastings came up with some of this stuff... it's like, there is a weird threshold for GOTG content. Not weird enough and you seem bland and/or boring, then there's the sweet spot that feels like GOTG and yet still throws you a curve ball but you just run with it anyway, and then... there's stuff like this where you want to have the author receive a mental health and welfare check-in, and probably pee in a cup too while he's at it to confirm or deny substance (ab)use.
This episode is less about Groot and more about this incredible strange planet and its even weirder inhabitants that this author conjured up.
