Nancy Lee Badger grew up in Huntington, New York and has fond memories of growing up on Long Island. After meeting her husband while attending college in New Hampshire, and raising two handsome sons, Nancy moved to North Carolina where she writes full-time.

I bought this book because of the setting. The Isle of Skye is fascinating to me and any story set there attracts me. And I was not disappointed. It is a love story like none other and a wonderful prequel to the Clan of Dragons series.
The improbability of a huge black dragon and tiny woodland fairy falling in love is huge. But that's exactly what happens in this story. Duff is a dragon. Robina is a tiny fairy. But when using her magic, they are able to shift into human form, they fall deeply and eternally in love. Robina tries to return to her fairy home after making love to Duff but finds her heart is empty and torn. Then when her mother reveals a huge dark secret, it sets Robina free. I loved everything about this story from the powerful, but lonely dragon to the tiny and magical fairy. I look forward to the rest of this series.

Shimmer The Beginning is the wonderful prequel to her Clan of Dragons series.
We meet Duff, a dying dragon who thinks his future has come to an end until he meets Robina. She has melted his heart. Once they both started to shift there was no end in sight to the love they have for one another and the things to come.

I love the way we learn about how the dragons come to be and of course the authors love for the Scottish island.

A wonderful read as always by this author. I love Nancy’s writing she knows how to get the readers interest right from page 1 of any of her books. I have read a lot of Nancy’s books and you will not be disappointed at all.

If you like dragons and shifters with romance you will love this series.

Reading this fun novella by Nancy Lee Badger was an afternoon pleasure. Anyone who enjoys fantasy stories filled with romance, faeries, and dragon shifters will adore this tale. Shimmer: The Beginning is a prequel to the Clan of the Dragon series. I'll be adding the other stories in the series to my must read list.

This is the beginning of the Clan of Dragons series. I love knowing the backstory and since I thoroughly enjoyed Spark, Smoke and Smolder, knowing how it all began delighted me. No spoilers but this fits in perfectly with the series. If you're into dragons, check all of them out!
