Let Me Taste You

Raquel

It's the worst night of my life. I've been stood up for a date - a date I didn't even want. I'm crushed and humiliated, ready to cry into a bowl of ice cream when Kenny waltzes in and saves the night. At first glance, I'm convinced he's hot but crazy. But one taste of him, and I'm hooked. I can't get enough.

Kenny

Sometimes your life comes down to one crazy moment, one wild gamble. My gamble is on Raquel, the beauty across the room alone at the table. She's clearly upset, frustrated that her date didn't show up. But one look at her and I realize he's going to be the best thing she's never had. Because I'm the One, and she doesn't even know it yet.

Let Me Taste You is a steamy standalone romance novella featuring an older man, a younger woman, passionate desires, and a happily ever after with absolutely no cheating.

Good lord...when will I learn...sigh.

She was so fine I’d even take my socks off. The guys and I had a rule; you only got ass-naked without socks when the girl was elite.

What a catch this hero was.

And this was her BFF's comment when his fuck buddy ex shows up and says she is pregnant and was with him the night before after the heroine left.

“She probably just sucked his dick.” She waved dismissively. “You’re going to let a mouthful of cum in her mouth stop you from a man who’s opening doors for you?” She pointed to her brain. “Best friend, you’ve got to think strategically.

What a friend I tell ya...

"She pulled away just in time. My phone vibrated. I ignored it, and when it started again, I pulled it out slightly. It was Angela, the other plans I had—and canceled without notice.
Angela was a woman I dated, briefly. But I cut her off when I discovered she was going through my phone. That, and the fact that I caught her attempting to trap me with a baby. The only reason I was giving her the opportunity to meet up with me was because she was ruthless and persistent.
… And, if I were to be honest, she gave great head. It was slow with the perfect amount of suction, and put me to sleep every time. Yeah, my plans were to go to the strip club with the guys, get turned on by some hot ass and tits, and end the night with Angela’s face between my legs, sucking me until every ounce of my nut was down her throat.”

Um. 😷🤢

Kicker: the heroine is a virgin. 🤢😬

A 39 years old man who uses terms like "LOL". Aaaaallright...

Usually, Mia Madison is instant-purchase for me. I've read almost all of her books and enjoyed them. Some are even on my favorites list. They were good for a quick, hot and sweet read. However, this didn't even feel like it was written by Mia. It's like she got into my brain, found out everything I despise and put them in a book.

Everything in this book seemed cringy. From the "ex-es" drama, to Kenny's spoiled sister who I wanted to punch and to Raquel's too loud and annoying best friend. Kenny and Raquel were both immature. Let's say I can understand Raquel and how she enjoyed Alex bugging her and loved the attention, since she was only 23. But Kenny...now that I have issue with. He thought with his dick. At almost 40, he still acted like a teenager. Still allowed a crazy and unstable woman in his house because she gave a good blowjob. His circle of friends was also composed by immature men who only went to strip clubs and had sex daily. Like...for real? Maybe someone needs to grow up a little?

I rolled my eyes each time Raquel and her friend were using the word "girl". And trust me, that happened every two sentence. I don't know what happened with this book or with Mia's style, but...no. Just plain no.

Reformed Playboy?

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, Let Me Taste You by Mia Madison.

I am a huge fan of Mia's, I've read a large number of her books and loved them all. Something is different about this one. It's like it's not written by the same person. All her books have strong language, which I normally don't care about but with this book it's really crude and how Kenny thinks about women and he, Dom and Nick talk about them is vulgar and a major turn off for me.
And I had a few other issues with the book. The night that Raquel and Kenny met, they had several glasses of wine (and later it mentioned whiskey too?) then Raquel drove herself home and it states in the book that she was riding "a fine line between buzzed and drunk". That's not only against the law, it's also extremely dangerous and life threatening! Why would you write that in and make it seem like a perfectly ok thing to do?!
Finally we have timeline discrepancies. Angela showed up at Kenny's the night after he met Raquel but days later it states it was the night before.
This was definitely a tough one for me. I seriously love Mia's books but this one was a disappointment. Fingers crossed that her next one is back to her usual perfection.

This is the story of Raquel and Kenny. The story starts out with Raquel waiting for a date that she really didn’t want to be on and finding that after 2 hours he is not coming. She finds that her “date” is on another date with a woman in the same restraint! Kenny comes to her rescue and they have an amazing dinner and conversation.

This book was slower paced then some of this author’s previous story, but that fit perfectly with the plot and Raquel’s interest in not only finding her true love but waiting to make sure before their relationship progressed. I really liked this story and found myself wondering what I would do in some if the instances of the story line. Kenny was an amazing man and a sweet and strong personality. His willingness to wait for Raquel was sweet and proved his worthiness. Raquel was a strong and independent woman who knew who she was and was not willing to back down for a man.

I felt like this story was a bit more “hip” or oriented toward a younger audience as there were many words, or fashion items that I did not know. The language was a bit younger (maybe that is just me?) but that did not in any way detract from the story. I also really loved the secondary characters and hope that they get their own story in the future.

Over all a fun, sweet, steamy read. The last few chapters and the epilogue made me melt. They were so sweet and fulfilling! I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this book about Raquel and Kenny. Two people who at a restaurant where Raquel is waiting on her date with another man. Who it appears has stood her up. Raquel sees her date has been posting pictures of himself and another woman. They seem to be on a date. Turns out they are in the same restaurant that Raquel has been waiting at. Kenny is with two of his friends and notices Raquel who seems to be waiting on someone and has an upset look about her. He figures out what is going on and steps up to her table . the man who stood Raquel up takes notice and Kenny makes sure he understands that he will be dining with Raquel. What happens from there is the premises of the book. I loved everything about this book. I liked how Kenny took his time with Raquel and didn't push her into something she wasn't ready for. I also liked how the two had such great chemistry between them. This was a hot and steamy quick read. Another fabulous book by Ms Madison.

Mia Madison has a way of writing a book and drawing you in and this one is no different. Her female characters are beautiful, strong and mature and the men are gorgeous, sometimes players but when they find the one....that all stops.
This one about Raquel & Kenny who happen to meet when her date stands her up and he comes in as the knight in shining armour and has dinner with her. From there their story begins, we meet his friends and her bestie, along with the date who stood her up and his ex who has trouble letting go. They go slow and talk, learning about each other and falling more and more as each day passes.
What I loved about this read is was that it wasn't insta love, they both didn't express "this is the one" after only just one dinner even though it didn't take them long, yes they were extremely attracted to each other but had dates and talks before anything serious happened and along with the steamy scenes...Loved it!!

DNF

I really tried to give this book a chance, but the main male character kept thinking about and going on about sexual details of encounters from like the week previous to meeting the main female character. I get that characters have pasts. But I don't want to hear about them in detail, and having them so close to meeting the person they end up with is disgusting. Reading about special, meaningful sexual experiences with their new partner means nothing when they were just with someone else the other day. Just because he or she changes for the new person doesn't mean they're automatically absolved of being a jerk before. They're not good people just because they finally decided someone was worth more. Life is already full of crappy people. I don't want the books I read to be full of jerks who keep thinking about other sexual partners and how good they were during the course of the book. It's gross and ruins it.

LOVED IT! Mia Madison did not disappoint with this very well written book. Who wet my pants? Where is Kenny? I want him!
I loved the humor in the book. The story line is great and unique from what I expected.
This book has it all: humor, passion, drama, lies, jealousy, groupies, hot scenes, alpha males, romance and friendship.
Kenny is now a business man and former player. He is everything what a woman want. One evening he takes a chance and saves a woman - Raquel - from a date who stood her up.
The chemistry between the two main characters just flows out of the pages.
I love the way Mia Madison has included their friends in the story. I have a secret wish that the next book will be about Nick and Dilayla. Maybe a third about Dom ;)

Nothing Wrong With a Bengal

Kenny's the older man, rescuing Raquel from being stood up. Serendipity may have brought the young woman and the real estate developer together, but they have both got work to do to get a happy ending together.

The editing could have used some work, and I struggle sometimes with the most current pop culture trends and references. It's a lot of youth and consumer-brand oriented slang, but I also recognize the high-end Miami setting as catering to exactly the demographic that follows these brands, so I get to be an old woman and struggle to decipher the text. The steamy scenes were done a little differently than most Madison titles, and it felt...new, and untried. Not quite familiar. Not bad, just a bit more awkward than steamy, in the service of the story, but still.

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it

Raquel is sat waiting for her date to show up, the she spots him at another table with another woman. She is horrendously embarrassed but Kenny swoops in to the rescue

Both have idiot ex's causing trouble and drama, putting a spanner in the burgeoning romance. Will they get a happy ending?

Beautiful romance with drama, excitement and scorching hot scenes, this is another well written romance by the very talented Mia Madison and I highly recommend this book

I liked Kenny and Raquel's story. You don't really feel a younger woman/older man vibe. They are both consenting adults and well past age of consent. That being said, I will agree with the "steamy" part in the title. Their meeting is almost fated when he saves her from being stood up (at a restaurant the jerk is currently at with another girl!). Things progress, drama ensues in the package of ex'es, real life situations occur. The author makes you feel as if, yeah, this could happen. This was a nice, quick, romantic read.

Raquel was stood up by her date who double booked at the same restaurant. Enter Kenny who decides that he like what he sees and saves the night.
They start see each other and the chemistry is hot. A former woman attempts to destroy their relationship. Can Raquel see past the lies?
This book has plenty of humor and sex.

I think the way these two met was fate. I love reading about how they are coming together. There is a point I think Kenny could have handled things better for sure and it bugged me. But this was hot and sweet, a good summer read. I received an arc of this.
