Deborah Wilde is a global wanderer and hopeless romantic. After twelve years as a screenwriter, she was also a total cynic with a broken edit button, so, she jumped ship, started writing funny, sexy, urban fantasy and paranormal women’s fiction books, and never looked back.
She loves writing smart, flawed, wisecracking women who can solve a mystery, kick supernatural butt, banter with hot men, and still make time for their best female friend, because those were the women she grew up around and admired. Granted, her grandmother never had to kill a demon at her weekly friend lunches, but Deborah is pretty sure she could have.
Not going to lie. I did not expect this particular lady for Drio. Completely bowled over by that and yet in hindsight it's so perfect! This was a sweet, sexy and sorta sad little number and I really hope more of this dynamic plays out in book three.

This one kind of freaked me out, because Drio was SO awful in the first book (and the first half of the second), and I don't trust him with Leonie. I really like her. I'm worried how he'll react when he finds out she's a demon.
If I thought that this novella would make the events of the second book more clear, I was sadly mistaken. It actually takes place after Prague and moves into a completely different direction. I can't say it was bad, it's just that Drio's story was definitely not what I expected, but I liked being in his head.
Kindle Unlimited, the individual books and and the 3 pack*. #4 out soon. Got the .5 books as freebie for being subscriber and didn't realize at first had them but got lost in the shuffle of google drive.
While closing in on a child-eating demon, Drio crosses paths with a woman who may just out-play him. Told from Drio's POV
The Unlikeable Demon Hunter (Nava Katz Book 1)* The Unlikeable Demon Hunter novella Slay (Book #1.5) The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Sting (Nava Katz Book 2)* The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Crush (Nava Katz, 2.5) The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Need (Nava Katz Book 3)* The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Seize (Nava Katz, #3.5) The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Crave (Nava Katz Book 4)
I'm not going to lie, I've been looking forward to reading something from Drio's POV ever since we got the sense that he's not just the psychopathic arsehole we first meet him as in Book 1.
And this was... extremely satisfying. I know Leonie gets her own book at the end of the series, so I find myself hoping the dynamic in this short story will foreshadow some of what we can expect from her instalment when it happens.
What a great short story and a nice addition to the Nava Katz series. Drio is intriguing, enigmatic and definitely not one to be pinned down so I was glad to see a woman out-Drio him! (And surprised who that woman is but very pleased). Don't read this until you have read Nava 1, 1.5 and 2 as it will make much more sense, and you'll enjoy them.
Drio being the resident rasha bad boy, we don't hear much from him unless it's smartass. With the little bit I learned about him from book 2, I see he has another side he is just afraid to feel. Meeting Nava's friend has sparked his curiosity and has him thinking about doing things differently. I love these stories with they guys' point of view.
