I really enjoyed these crazy characters who had nothing to lose. It is savage, vicious, bloody and sexy and made me laugh at times at just how crazy each member of the team is.
The stories are short but good and they all flow on from one another.
You will definitely like this if you like a little crazy and unpredictable and sexy hot shifters.

The shifter stories by this author are always full of intrigue and a pleasure to read and the ones in this box set are no exception. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending these books; in fact, you can guarantee that any book Anya puts out is well worth a read. Copies of these books were provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read the books and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Review for: Bear My Heir
The moment Dice met Meredith he knew she was his mate, but as a foolish young bear he had allowed her to slip away. Dice’s mission was only supposed to be a couple of days, but being captured and put in prison meant he was away for months. On his return, he finds out that Meredith is dead; he doesn’t believe it for one minute, knowing he would have felt the loss. The reality is The Arctics have taken Meredith and her sister Marilyn and faked their deaths. Spade has a job for Dice, but it is not until he hears mention of Meredith’s name that he agrees to do what he asks. For the past 5-months Dice has been running Shifter Squad Nine, a squad of “crazies”. Their mission is simple: take out both The Arctics’ main scientific outposts in Peru. It was supposed to be an in and out job, only made more complicated because of the source, Meredith; she needs to be protected, but not extracted as she is too important to the overall mission. Dice knew Spade was a wildcard, but never thought he was outright cruel. Explaining the plan to Meredith had been even worse, but he promised he would always remain close to her. As months go by, and the feeds on Meredith dwindle, Dice confronts Spade only to find out he is withholding some important information, something pertinent to the whereabouts of Meredith. Spade’s new plan is simple; get in, get out and try not to die. The Squad is there to observe, not draw attention to themselves, but when Dice confronts Meredith, the plan changes. Extract the source, that is the new mission, but there are complications and Dice has to rely on the loyalty of his Squad. Will their “craziness” be their eventual downfall?
Review For: Kitten Me Twice
As children, Ryker and Rio witness their entire Pride being brutally murdered by hyenas; how can they forget something like that or the principal perpetrators responsible. Together with Kayla, their lives have been filled with booze, drugs, tattoos, fights and petty theft, but when Kayla’s brother dies of an overdose, Kayla acts and leaves without so much as a word; even knowing Ryker and Rio are her mates, she realises she cannot “fix” them. When Kayla becomes pregnant she tries to find Ryker and Rio, but to no avail; likewise, they try to find her, but it seems she didn’t want to be found. Spade knows everything and when a friend of his asks for help in finding his son, Hank, Spade has a mission for Shifter Squad Nine and brings Kayla into the mix. What the team are not aware of is that Kayla’s son Rylen is also being held, so Ryker and Rio are doubly shocked; first at seeing Kayla and then learning they are fathers, but worse than that someone has dared to take their babies. Kayla, Ryker and Rio have not seen each other for six years and none of them were what they used to be; she had changed more than she cared to admit in the pursuit of trying to track down her children. This mission is different from the usual Artics’ operations and Spade has not provided much intel. Hank is found safe and well, but Rylen is not so fortunate and only Rhamos is in a position to help him. Kayla, through devious means, finds out that the Wanderers, an organisation sympathetic to The Arctics, is responsible for Rhamos’ abduction, but more surprising is the fact that Sawyer, the man who killed Ryker and Rio’s Pride, is implicated. When other lives are at risk, a choice has to be made. Ryker and Rio need Shifter Squad Nine’s help to exact vengeance, but this leads to severe consequences.

Shifter Squad Nine are on an extended mission in the Borneo Rainforest and it is there that Thor and Nia cross paths. Nina had learnt as a child to always move around and to have safe places to call home. Seeing Thor in the jungle the previous day, Nia had tracked him until he had settled in the trees. When an explosion affects Thor’s vision, Nia drags him away to her makeshift hideaway. There is no love lost between Nia and her people, and the werewolves who scour the woods looking for them. Nia and Thor get to know each other and Thor feels a sense of calm when he talks about the loss of his mate and baby, something he has never told anyone before. Thor is convinced Nia needs someone better than him, but Nia’s animal reacts to his primal nature. Working together to rescue Shifter Squad Nine, Nia is injured and it is like Thor’s worst nightmare coming true once again. Nia is the bravest woman he has ever met, but another one he has let down, more so when Spade reveals a secret, leaving him in an endless turmoil; but how can he fight or control fate. Two-months later Spade has a new mission for the Squad. The Arctics have not only unleashed a deadly chemical agent, they have kidnapped Nia and she is the only one who can find an antidote. Spade, though, makes it clear that time is of the essence and then does the “unthinkable”.
Review For: Twice The Pups
Amy is part of Shadow Two, a mop up crew that did the work no one else wanted to do; she is also the only non-shifter in her squad. Being a career soldier, first serving in the Navy and now in The Firm, Amy has seen a lot of delectable men, but there is just something about Prowler and Price that intrigues her; the attraction is raw and animalistic. Amy’s current mission is captain of The Pearl Princess and her previous undercover work makes her perfect for the job; she is happy with her re-assignment, but wonders what, or who, has instigated it. If the intel is correct, The Pearl Princess is crawling with werewolves and high-ranking Arctic scientists and lieutenants. Prowler and Price are uneasy being on a singles cruise following their tryst with Amy in Montana; they didn’t want to admit they may have met their fated mate, then let her go. Amy too, for her own reasons, didn’t like the fact that she has not been able to get in contact with the twins; their files had suddenly been sealed, as was her own, but why? Shifter Squad 9 were merely meant to observe, record and report back, but when Amy’s cover is blown the situation gets out of control and containment protocols are instigated on both sides. The Arctics never intended for anyone on the cruise ship to live, but Shifter Squad 9 didn’t allow them to get away with their dastardly plans, and as far as the local authorities were aware, what transpired was a simple ship abduction that went wrong. The Firm though would have the requisite information they required. Amy had been shot, helped foil a terrorist attack, found the men of her dreams, and so much more. Then Spade drops his bombshell; there will be changes, things will be different and the Squad’s loyalties will be questioned and soon.

Loved reading these in a box set.
Two of these I was given for an honest review, two I read through KU.
1- BEAR MY HEIR
This is a difficult review to write as though this was a really great read and I felt so many emotions reading it, some parts just felt wrong. If it had not been shifter based I would be very happy but a bear shifter allowing his mate to be put into danger for MONTHS just does not ring true.
Now onto the book.
Meredith and Dice were dating when Meredith, who is a scientist, is kidnapped due to her research.
She and her sister are kidnapped by a drug cartel whilst Dice was on a mission and separated. She has been held for 5 years and made to do research for them.
Dice believed Meredith was dead but his bear never felt the loss. He feels guilty for not telling Meredith she was his mate before he left on his mission.
His friend Slade lets him know Meredith is alive so he can manipulate Dice into working for him as a very black ops unit with a very weird bunch of nutcase shifters. The worst part is Slade has known for years that she was alive. Ex-friend status.
Dice rescues Meredith but it is part of a much bigger plan by Slade.
I loved the story between Meredith and Dice and also the way things evolve between Dice and his team.
A very tension laden book with a supposed good guy who is just plain evil and manipulating, yes I mean you Spade. I do hope he gets a mate who gives him hell.
I cannot go into more without giving things away but this is a story that makes you wish for Karma to bite someone. Slade. See a theme here.
Cannot wait for the next book so that says it all for me.
2 - KITTEN ME TWICE
One of the most intense reads I have read.
Another difficult review to write for this second book in the series. Ms Nowlan has outdone herself.
This series is no light hearted read and it will grip you by the throat and heart.
Once again our team of misfit shifters made me laugh and cry.
Ryker, Rio and Kayla's story was so horrible and sad but gripping to read. The rotten beginning to our lion shifter twins life made me cry and seeing the destructive path they were on with Kayla was shocking. The fact Kayla became pregnant was a turning point for all of them and the beginning of one hell of a story.
Once again Slade and The Firm are horrible and I wonder where this will all end.
I cannot wait to read the next book.
3 - CHASING FOR CUBS
4.5 stars. Another of Shifter Squad Nine falls despite Thor's best efforts to screw it up.
Loved Thor's story, his past heartbreak was terrible and I can understand how he went down the path he did.
Nia was a breath of fresh air and I loved her to bits. Her shifter side was superb, how clever, I am not saying or it will give it away.
Thor on a mission is something else, talk about not giving up. WOW. I have been on that cable car and can envision it clearly.
It was good to have the team back in action and although this book was not as tension laden as the previous, it was a great read and is starting to show a camaraderie building amongst this motley crew of shifters, much to their disgust I imagine.
What Spade did was diabolical and the worst thing ever. Spade is worse than the devil and I am hoping someone takes him out rather than him getting a mate but I do wonder what ghost memory the name Nat conjured. Could it be short for Natalie?
4 - TWICE THE PUPS
What a great read this book was. I have struggled writing reviews for the first three books due to the horrible actions of Spade but he was noticeably absent in this book.
Loved the storyline and the fact Amy was such a confident, capable female was such a great bonus. Captaining a cruise ship, loved it and the fact Amy, even though human, can shoot and kick butt as well as the boys was great.
Price and Prowler were quite funny in the fact that these two alpha wolves never realised Amy is their mate.
It was a good ride along with the boys on this mission and would love to see them in their Hawaiian shirts. LOL.
They really are a unit now and the ending with Spade makes me wonder.
I was very impressed with how Ms Nowlan cleverly led us around to believe in a different aspect of Spade’s behaviour.
I know this is supposed to be the last book in this series but I really hope we get Spades book. There is something there that needs to be told.

Complete series review
Overall the series was interesting. The author writes with a lot of detail; giving the character’s thoughts and reactions. The effect stretches moments in time. Sometimes so much, you forget what action is happening. A positive effect is the reader gets a full understanding of each character, which makes for immersion and connection.
Of the four stories in this collection, Thor and the Rabin twins were my favorite. There is a major plot continuing through all four books, and it is left on cliffhanger, so I imagine it will continue in another series. However, each romance is wrapped up in a HEA ending.
Considering how much the detail the author gives on each character’s thoughts and feelings, I was surprised the sex scenes are not that detailed. They are over quickly and I would describe them as medium heat.

These are my favorite! This series is really amazing . Each story is a page turner has a bit of everything and it action laugh out loud moments in a lot of sexy situations which are great. I wish this author would hurry up and make another series just as good as shifter squad nine or better. I'm hoping she comes out with something fairly soon. Shifter squad nine sizzles in your hands.
