Georgia has been a pampered captive of the Nafrum her whole life. Her cage is at the top of a tower in the last city left on Earth. As one of the few humans still alive after a Human-Engineered Apocalypse, she is a novelty to the cruel beings who have taken over the planet.
The Nafrum don’t care that the human race is all but a memory. To the aliens, Georgia is a keepsake of a place they visited. She has no value, no future…until the leader of the Nafrum decides he wants a human.
Her reaction—similar to that of an unforgiving ice storm—did not go over well. In fact, her definitive rejection changes what’s left of the world.
In the political fallout of a human snubbing an alien megalomaniac, Georgia is thrust into the spotlight. It leaves her reeling and yet determined to never return to her cage; it also provides an opportunity for her people.
If she doesn’t mess it all up, humans might just be able to stage a comeback...

Author's
LET DOWN YOUR HAIR is a little bit of this and a little bit of that; a fairytale retold in the Human-Engineered Apocalypse with aliens, some wicked monsters, and a girl who doesn't give a single zombie fart about following the rules. But don't worry, y'all--it ends with a HFN as these characters fumble their way through the HEA.

This has to be the best twist on a fairy tale I have ever read. A modern retelling of the story of Rapunzel, this fascinating and descriptive novel is packed with intense moments and driven by marvelously crafted characters. Who knew a wolf like humanoid society could not only be interesting and unique but have a freaking AWESOME sci-fi twist. With elements of dystopian, alien invasion, colonization, and fated mates - this story is sure to please all romance fans.

I have to say that I was intrigued from the first chapter and sucked in by the brutal tragedy of the beginning events. Introduced quickly to our main characters and what drives them, this novel takes off on one hell of a ride and doesn't let up until the last page. The intense romance between Hunter and Georgia is as seductive and sweet as it is carnal and HOT. Loved that their relationship built up slowly and ended exactly how I would have wanted.

This author has a real talent in descriptive writing and doesn't waste time with excess plot lines. Ms. Day hooks you and then reals you all the way in, her writing as flawless as her ability to craft believable characters in a fictional world. Probably one of the best paranormal romances of the year for me and that's saying quite a bit since I read and review so many. I'll be watching for more of her novels and adding her to my list of must read authors. Don't miss this one!

Warning: Contains mature and serious content that may disturb some readers, although I had zero difficulty enjoying the book.

I’m absolutely in love with this story. It’s different, quirky, and hot. Alien werewolves and human slaves. I dig it. Georgia, though a slave, is one feisty girl. Her master, the Alfra, is a clueless dominate type as you might expect, who is determined to make her his mate regardless. In addition to hearing the story from their perspectives, there is also Hunter/Shadow another of the aliens, a dominate type, but not to the extreme, a perfect blend of masculine rawr and tenderness for his love.

I enjoyed the flow of the alternating point of views, it kept the pace brisk. In the midst of the whole struggle against being a captive, there was a really hot bond that formed between Georgia and one of the alien suitors, I won’t give away who. The end was satisfying, considering the steamy bits you can take that however you want. With such a creative tale, and crisp writing I will certainly be looking for more from this author.

I loved this science fiction Rapunzel retelling - it was intense, compelling, and incredibly unique. The character development was perfectly timed to build up and create realistic relationships that were believable in this paranormal romance setting. The plot twists had me turning those pages with no idea what to expect, and the descriptiveness of the writing made me believe in this fascinating world.

An intoxicating mix of sweet, dirty, and sarcastic!

Kimberlyn Day has officially become my go-to author for quality sci-fi smut romps! Her stories are quick, original, full of heat, and well-written.

Let Down Your Hair takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a breed of werewolves have taken over the ravaged Earth and enslaved the last of the human race. Georgia, one such slave, is being held in seclusion by the leader, Alfra, until she matures enough to become his mate. Unfortunately for him, she has other ideas.

Alfra was a total dick and gave the story some very dark undertones, but that was nicely balanced out by Georgia and her inner strength and sarcasm. There were quite a few sprinkles of humor throughout that kept this story from taking itself too seriously - I LOVED that. And then there was Hunter, he brought the sweetness.
Carefully, so as not to startle her, he moved to touch her chest in the same place. Her entire sternum was covered by his palm. He kept his hand there for a moment and then moved it back to his own chest. He did it several times, going back and forth, and hoped she understood the silent message. His heart belonged to her.
As with previous reads by this author, the sci-fi world building is developed just enough so the reader doesn't get bogged down, which allows the writing to focus on the romance, and the characters and their unique situations. If you like this kind of thing, look no further! 4 SOLID STARS!

Incredibly creative story. Werewolves are actually aliens from another planet biding their time on Earth until they took power after humans annihilated the planet during a nuclear war. A very small population of humans are kept as slaves in a protected area (the remainder of the human population is dead or mutant from radiation). This story is told from three points of view: Georgia-a teen human slave girl, Alfra-the alien in charge who has deemed Georgia to be his future mate, and Hunter-another alien who rescued Georgia from mutant humans when she was twelve and keeps watch over her. Now approaching her eighteenth birthday, Georgia has been kept secluded in Alfra's possession since her rescue; her only friend is an alien who from the rooftop listens to her woes when she's on the balcony but never speaks to her.

Lots of plot twists and some great sexy scenes. Very impressive writing too! I couldn't put the book down. My only quibble is that the title of the book doesn't do the book justice. This is an intense, thought-provoking book that deserves a title with a stronger punch.

OH HELL NO!!

This grown ass man is basically salivating over a 13 yr old girl and thinking to himself that “their future halflings would be a force to be reckoned with.” UM WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!

“He’d do anything to secure her. Even wait years.” You probably guess where this is going.......

He keeps her as a slave until she is 17 and then begins to groom her. “Consent wasn’t really a concern in their society....they didn’t have little old problems like rape once a person was old enough to participate.”

And then another love interest enters and it turns out that she is his mate too.

Nope I’m out.

Georgia Is An Engaging Heroine Who Makes This a Worthwhile Read...

Strangely enough, the scene that occurs essentially mid-air (with help from a ledge or two) at the end of the book is most memorable to me, and that's all I'll say about that! But beyond that, and more to the book's premise, I absolutely love Georgia and found the tension involved in Alfra wanting to destroy her mate rich with suspense. The stakes are high: Georgia knows without having to be told that she'd die without Shadow-Hunter. He is her everything, her whole world. They share a link, a bond, a spiritual connection that, if severed, would kill her just as surely as severing her emotional connection to him would. The synopsis which will have you eager to dive into Kimberlyn Day's world can be boiled down thusly: Georgia is young and innocent in a world where aliens are in charge. Most of the Earth was destroyed during the Human-Engineered Apocalypse and the Nafrum built a safe haven called Heulokoa, where humans willingly enter into slavery as opposed to suffering from starvation and exposure to radiation outside Heulokoa. Which brings us full circle to Alfra wanting Georgia, who wants the Shadow-Hunter, whom Alfra wants dead. The frank, unabashed style that Day engages in as she draws us into her story is peppered with picturesque scenes and descriptions that make her creation come alive. If you like your fantasy peppered with the erotic, I highly recommend this book.

This is a novel set some time after a nuclear war which has virtually wiped out humanity. The Nafrum, a kind of werewolf species with alien heritage, are top dogs in the world now. They live in a city protected from the radiation outside, and have enslaved the few remaining humans.
Georgia is one of those humans. She has spent years kept apart from the rest of her kind, imprisoned in the Nafrum leader’s own apartment at the top of a tower. As she nears the age of eighteen, the reasons for this seclusion begin to dawn on her.
The post-apocalyptic land is very effectively introduced to us in the opening chapter and is made easy to imagine. The story, too, is a good one. It moves at a decent pace, never getting boring, with occasional scenes of explicit erotica.
The only issue I had with the book was that I found the main character rather hard to believe in given her background. Her use of vernacular and sassiness didn’t strike me as likely from someone who has been kept in isolation since she was a child. This is a small quibble though, and the sassiness at least is partially explained by later revelations.
I’m not sure who the book is aimed at. It’s general theme I would have categorised as Young Adult, but the graphic sex seems to take it out of that genre. Regardless, if you like post-apocalyptic fantasy with a bit of spice you may well love this book.

This semi-erotic story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where "werewolves" keep humans as slaves.

Although I am not usually into stories like this, the writing and storyline was good enough to keep me reading.

I actually didn't like the main protagonist. Something about her demeanor... but hey, that's just me. If anything that is a testament to the character building by the author.

And the erotic parts would have turned me on if it wasn't borderline beastiality.. lol

Overall it was an entertaining read with a unique storyline.

This was a fun book to read. I don’t normally read this genre but I was surprised at how the author sucked me into the story of Georgia and the world she inhabits after humans have pretty much destroyed the earth and made it uninhabitable. The tension between her, her master/captor Alfra and her savior/friend Hunter and between these two aliens is great and keeps the reader wanting more. I did have a big issue with the raw scene at the beginning of the story which almost made me put the book aside; I just wanted to give a fair warning to other readers.
