When doing the right thing seems to get you nowhere, and you’re tired of life beating you down…what’s the resolution? Faced with this exact dilemma, Mya decides that she’s going to put herself first for a change, and indulge selfishly, even when it’s wrong.
I really enjoyed this book. I didn't agree with everything that happen between Omari and Mya but at the end of the day the heart wants what the heart wants. That darn momma of hers just disgusted me to the core even before Mari and Mya got together, because the way she treated her wasn't necessary all because she couldn't keep and get a decent man. Overall even though what happened was wrong but I also felt like it was a learning lesson. Long but great read Nicole Jackson
Definitely can't wait for the rest❤️ Nicole never disappoints and always comes with that🔥🔥 I can't stand Meeka, she's a horrible mother. Please don't keep us waiting long❤️
Nicole has done it again! Thank heavens for long, standalone books! We're not worthy of your talent! None of your books are the same. Mya and Omari forever!
I think the age range in this book was a little too young for me. It was too much Happening and then some of the back and forth was unnecessary. It just dragged and dragged between a 17 and 21 year old. Let’s just say the 17 year old was a 17 year old. I am mad I wasted my time, and while I skipped portions of the book, I finished the book because I am not sure how they’re getting paid. It depends on the set up because some get paid by the page read by readers.
I’ll try one more from this author, before I make a comprehensive judgment on whether or not I will follow and read more of her work.
I'm honestly not surprised by the authors work I've personally loved everything she has published. This book. Had me questioning myself. Forgive me while I try not to give the book away. I thought I knew how I would feel about the characters and I was totally wrong. The person I thought I would feel sympathy for I felt none and in the end this was book was RIGHT even if it's wrong.
Mannnnn! When I say that this book had me in my feelings, I couldn't help it. From page one to the end, my emotions were all over the place. I've loved every book I've ever picked up from Nicole Jackson and this one was no different! I absolutely loved Omari and Mya's relationship. Can't wait for your next book.
Oh baby this sample was everything. What in the world is going on here. I hope Mya and Omari end up together in the end because lines had been crossed. This sample was fiyah, now I need the rest of it.
I loved this book. A classic story of two people who under the circumstances shouldn’t have been together but they were made for each other. The love they shared was so real, even when it’s wrong.
My favorite passage in the book:
“Girl, age aint done shit for you, but make you older. I didn’t know that there were people out here that damn dumb. And then for you to even try and pull that baby card, you’re delusional. He aint know shit about a baby, when he left your ass at the Gucci concert. But that aint even something I gotta break down to you. It seems to me that you want him, and you going out of your way to convince him that he should want you too. But that aint how it should go. I mean, you’re a cute girl, and you wasted a lot of time, choosing a nigga. How about you let go of something that clearly aint meant for you, and then some man can find you?” -Mya
“And I get why you tripping. Omari got that dope dick.” She patted my shoulder possessively. “He’s also a good person, but there’s no way in hell that’d I want him if the love I give him wasn’t reciprocated. I know that it gotta be fucked up to watch him be with somebody else, probably doing all the stuff that you hoped to do with him. However, I happen to believe in soulmates, and he wouldn’t be this way with you, because he’s not for you. This me.” She pointed at me. “And you need to get you. Whoever that nigga is, won’t need to be convinced of shit. Because I didn’t beat you for the position. He gave it to me. He chose me, and I choose him. So, I hope that answers your question. We love each other, Skyy, and I hope you find love too. Just not with this nigga here, cause he’s mine.” -Mya
If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS YES‼️‼️

While I enjoy reading her stories and truly believe that she’s a talented writer, the girls are all the same. They’re beautiful with long hair and curvaceous bodies. They smoke weed and are all as ghetto as they come. Most have issues with their mothers and end up pregnant by men who are drug dealers or burglars. This one burgeoned into a rapper. Nicole Jackson is a master storyteller. I could never take that from her, but these stories are all the same. The girls are the same and it’s getting redundant.
I can't even put this book into summation as I usually do, lol. This is my first read by this author and though it took me a bit to get into, overall I felt she did a descent job of portraying this story. Mya and Omari's relationship is somewhat hard to swallow considering how they got together. I'm sure this type of scenario is plentiful in real life but it's not something I've experienced which made it unconventional when I factor in Mya's age. The author kept it real and gritty; the plot was reminiscent of many hood love stories but had its own unique flair considering the circumstances I previously hinted at. I must also mention the many fast paced scenes and the twist at the end really took me by surprise!
Omari and Mya showed great character development by the end of the book and the sub characters (though plentiful) added humor and aided in plot progression. The dialogue between characters was humorous and felt like you were talking to your home girl or bae. And those love scenes..whew chale. The epilogue was satisfying and left nothing unanswered concerning the main characters. Though not my usual read, I enjoyed it!
If you don't buy another book this year, make this your purchase. I have come to expect certain things from Nicole's books: excellent plots, vibrant characters with outrageous personality traits, fully fleshed out storylines, and a ton of raw comedy. When I say this one surpassed what I had imagined; I am not exaggerating.
Ms. Jackson is an OG author who has not succumbed to the pressures of the grimey literary world. Nor has she started churning out 14 book series that are released a year apart. Kudos Nicole for remaining true to YOUR craft and style. You have certainly lived up to my standards as well as a ton of other OG serious readers.
Welcome to the world of truly skilled pen wielding ninjas. Although you can enjoy any of her books alone, I highly recommend you start at the beginning of her catalog and treat yourself. Guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Wow this book was so good! I can't lie when it comes to books... Everything goes 🤷🏿♀️ so I didn't mind what they were doing! I really liked Mya! She had it really bad at home, her whole family failed her honestly! Omari was in love with mya from jump imo 😂😂 he played zero games when it comes to her! That scene at the Gucci concert had me in tears 😂😂😂 he was not playing at all. Meeka was disgusting 🤷🏿♀️ she didn't deserve anything good with the way she treated mya, Nisha and Neerie both were just trash!! I was so happy with Mya and Omaris' ending!! ❤ (🖐🏿🖐🏿here are two open handed slaps for the back of Mya head for that nasty mess she pulled with flame at the end) 😂 such a good read!!!
Lord nicole i come before you today to say i am already geeked abt the shit meeka is about to receive 🤭 ugh just messy and i love it😂👏🏽
*Snaps fingers* was this story MESSY af? Yes, omg yes… did i enjoy every bit of it? Oh yh i did and i have no shame in admitting it. Chile this book was something else, love where meeka and flame ended up at the end. I love me some mari NO CAPPPP🤭 omari on the other hand not so much🤦🏽♀️( yes i know its the same person, but i feel like each name is a different personality. Yeah ik weird but it works for me🤷🏽♀️) now baby i thought nisha was bad oh but the devil showed out with nerie🤚🏽 just a bunch of snakes tbh.

Absolutely nothing about how this relationship started was right and I was going to stop reading when I saw the way it was going but the book was so good I couldn't stop reading! Ms. Jackson is a genius!! I want go into detail because I don't want to spoil this treat for anyone. Thank you for giving the readers a complete standalone novel with a lot pages. The storyline was different than the typical urban romance like always Ms. Jackson killed it!!!
I love this book, but baby i couldn't stand mya ass towards the end! Like you really had me yelling at my kindle cussing yo ass out sum serious.. i love mari though he's bae, but baby he let her off way to easily with that hospital stunt. But a great book nonetheless

One of the very best, can't put down, what's on the next page?! , OMG, no they didn't! books Ever!! Wow! Just Wow!
Seeing as Nicole Jackson is a phenomenal writer, and only gets better and better with every book I read, I probably shouldn't be surprised at how great this book is. I literally couldn't put it down! And I love the fact that is was well thought out, and well written. And she makes something so right out of something so wrong. And how Nicole incorporates previous characters into her books is so fun. And, and, and the list goes on. And, Just read it!
I stay checking to see if you wrote anything new. I know write about the same stuff but I just love it..... real rap.. I just wish you would let me proof read for you Nicole cause it's aggravating....lmao... this book is worth 10 dollars but you need to do something about the proof reading..... too many mistakes.. Let me be your proofreader cause the one you use should be fired.... seriously... contact me if you are interested...I will always be a fan for life Queen.. Peace and Great Light!!!
Honestly this has to be my favorite book so far this year!!! The story line the characters the drama man the drama what a great book. I just want the author to know she did her thing with this book I haven't read a book this long in years and it felt good to just read one book without having to go get another book to compete the series. I loved the couple's in this book Omari and Mya went through so very much to be together and still over came the odds against them. Great job
Idk how to rate this. On one hand I hated this. Like i wish I could scrub my brain & never encounter this story or its characters but on the other hand it was the kind of thing you just can’t take your eyes off of.
I didn’t enjoy it but I kept reading. The writing was good. Thoroughly fleshed out characters but I still hated it. How do I rate it? Do I even have a right to rate it cause I went in just knowing there’d be cheating. & my ass was right. But I wanted to see how the story would pan out. So I poked my nose in somewhere it don’t belong. I only have myself to blame
I didn't read the sample, so I had to wait for the whole book, and man was it worth it. I read this book in one day! This book was sooo good, and emotional. Mya deserved all the happiness that she got after every thing going she went through. Omari ended up being worth the trouble. This book was a page turner, and you didn't feel like you read 800 pages once you were done. I was looking for more when I got to the last page.
She wrote the hell out of this book!!! I'm just gonna tell anybody that's reading these reviews, that this book you will not be able to put down. This book is the first book I've read by Nicole. And with that said I'm going to read every book she has. I might even read this one again. It's that good. Please continue to write plenty of books Nicole ...you're truly gifted.
This was my first read from this author and so glad I gave her a chance. I loved the fact this was a stand alone unlike the others who are creating 3 or 4 part stories with a wait time of several months in between. I especially loved the fact that the two main characters didn't immediately fall in love but where friends first and went through things to cement their relationship. Overall great read!
When I tell you this title definitely match this story and really left me speechless. Mya and Omari story is one for the books. I definitely didn’t picture any of this happening but I really enjoyed it. Not that I agree with the way they handled the situation but I will say I actually enjoyed them being together. Even though what they did was wrong they made it seemed right and I like it
Now this what you call a book that cover all of its basis. Mya I sympathize with you on a personal level & was in tears because of your circumstances. Mariiiiii you’re 1 of the stand up guys and I absolutely love everything about how you handles My. This is my favorite book for 2018 thus far. Everybody not going to be happy about you winning so you gotta be leery about the people who bring you bad gossip, MESSAGE received loud and clear throughout the book.!!
I really enjoyed reading this book!! It was an eye opener on how your so-called friends be jealous of you and trying to get what you have and just be being your friend to keep up with your business... As for Mya and her mom’s relationship, I don’t have the best relationship with my mom, but it’s not nearly as horrible as theirs.. It’s definitely a page turner... wish there was a sequel...
Honestly I did not want to read this book because I love Nicole Jackson book. This book left me starving for more! I'm the most impatient reader, so waiting for the full book release will be hell on my patience. This sample was great! Great storyline and enough secrets to think "What the hell is really going on." Love the sample, obsessed for the book!
