But it’s a first for them to take in a girl. Up until this point, they had taken in boys to give them a last chance in a happy home. To avoid snags the oldest, Dorian, and his fiancée, Amber, decide to take Izzy in. It’s the perfect fit. Instead of only having Avery Izzy finds herself surrounded by seven protective brothers who would do anything for her. Each of them is special in their own way, but the one thing that they all understand is the life of a foster child. Unfortunately all their love doesn’t stop Izzy’s past from catching up with her. It’s something that could change her life forever. That is until fate steps in. Fate has other plans for Izzy. Once things begin looking up for Izzy, she jumps back into life in an attempt to move on and to place her past behind her once and for all. That’s where she catches the eyes of the twins, Walker and Lynx. Walker is the brother who catches Izzy’s attention. At first, she pushes him away, but once she realizes her mistake, it’s too late. Walker has already moved on with another girl. With everything stacking up against her again will she be able to find her prince charming or will her past catch up with her again and snatch it all away. Will her prince be able to save her? Izzy can only hope for a happily ever after.

About the author

Raven K. Asher is the author of Barely Alive, Running Scared, and Dead End, the three books in her series, The Story of Alexis Rose. She is also the author of sci-fi series Eden One and The Onyx Wolves series. In addition she has written singles such as Losing Levi and When Tomorrow Never Comes. Raven was born and raised near a small town in Northern Ohio. Soon after graduating high school she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she lived for five years before moving back to her hometown in Ohio. Soon after moving back she met and married her wonderful husband. They now have two wonderful little girls. Raven works as a stay at home mom and raises Pygmy Goats and chickens as a hobby. She has always had a love for writing and has now made a lifelong dream of becoming a writer a reality. When she isn’t reading, taking care of her pets and kids she is diligently writing the many stories trapped inside of her head. Raven’s passions are for romance and horror, but she additionally enjoys sci-fi and fantasy stories. Her favorite stories to write are her post-apocalyptic tales.

The writing in this novel was descriptive enough and good enough that by chapter two I had a tear in my eyes. The words were evocative that already I was drawn in to the story. One problem that comes to notice is, however, is the editing, which is poor. Mostly these are Beta issues and typos, for instance a her for Avery instead of a him.

It's a good tale, although some areas feel rushed and simplistic, and not everything pans out with enough information which could have benefited with more detail and depth a greater level of complexity. The characterizations are decent which also could have had more depth, especially considering there are a lot of characters which were easy to mix up.

All up this is a good young adult read.

Isabelle, or Izzy, is in a home for orphans and is saying goodbye to her best friend and big brother, Avery. A couple has come to take him into foster care but not her. After he goes, the lady who runs the orphanage is very mean to Izzy. Then one day a couple comes to take her into foster care. At their place she finds Avery along with seven other boys, her new brothers. Then at dinner the truth comes out that at her last home the foster brother took advantage of her and left her pregnant. Then she miscarries. As time goes by she becomes accustomed to the new brothers and having Avery with her. She takes a liking to one boy, half of a twin, although with a bad reputation. Then the former foster brother shows up with a gun to take Izzy away. Things go very badly from this point on that she;s taken back by the wicked woman. This woman treats her so bad that Izzy comes to the brink of death.
OH WOW!! This is a fantastic story and a fantastic retelling of Snow White. You;ll be instantly captivated and your attention riveted to the last page.

I am starting to think I am going to have to read anything with Raven K. Asher's name on it. These books have been so good once I start them I cannot put them down until I am done to the detriment of anything else. Isabelle and Avery have been in and out of foster homes their whole lives. They have found one constant in each other. Each time they come back to the group home they look for each other to get by since they met in one terrible home. They are each other's family in their hearts. Then one day Avery gets a chance at a good home, but he is leaving Izzy for good - How will she survive without her brother bear? Watch as her heartbreaking story unfolds told in this amazingly charismatic story you won't want to put down.

We find Izzy who has no more family who finds himself in a kind of orphanage. His only friend Avery who is like his brother until the day a family comes to pick him up. Izzy will be adopted by the family who will adopt Avery, she will end up with seven brothers. She will try to be happy.

I liked this book less than others. But the character of Izzy is endearing and the story captivating with plenty of suspense and twists. Can wait to read another book by this author, I love her pen that is so addictive.

This storyline had me hooked from the beginning. I Highly Recommend this OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT.
This is a MUST READ. It is a real Tear Jerker that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. I loved reading this book I really felt for the kids who have experienced so much in a place they are suppose to be safe and protected. Avery and Isabelle have a friendship that no one can understand until they hear their story. They know all about being in the system and waiting for someone to adopt them and going from foster home to foster home. Only to end back up in a group home together.

This is my first time reading this author and I will be reading more. She had you captivated from the very beginning and you don’t want to put it down. The only issue I had was trying to read between my tears. The story was so raw, touching and beautiful in so many ways.

The story gives you a glimpse of the foster care system and the strength the children have to survive some of the situations given to them. As the story goes on you realize that family and best friends are everything. But can they erase all the negative that has happen in her earlier life. What will her future be like.

Another interesting twist to a famous fairytale. Really loved this book and loved the Brother Bear and Sister Bear characters (Avery & Izzy), along with all the brothers who portrayed the seven dwarfs. The author did a great job portraying all the characters, making you fall in love with each and every one. The book was heartwarming and heart wrenching all at the same time. I can't wait for the next one.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Raven K. Asher; she has done an excellent job at writing a good book. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked the storyline and the characters. I loved the bond between Avery and Isabelle and all her foster family. I loved the chemistry between Izzy and Lynx. Would love to read more about Izzy and Lynx. Highly recommend.

Beautiful story with amazing characters. I loved everything about this story. It had the usual teenage angst but it also had so much more. I hope there will be more stories in the future with some if the other characters from this book, especially Avery. The author created some very memorable characters with her descriptive writing who are likable and interesting all on their own. Great book.

BRILLIANT- I AM AT A LOSS FOR WORDS!!

Re-Reviewed: Whilst I do absolutely agree with the paragraph below I do have some nagging things I wanted to mention. One thing i have come typo hate about this book is how easily Isabelle (the Female Main Character) gave in to her foster mom, Amber, so easily after their big argument [which was totally Amber’s fault by the way]. I definitely love a bad0-ass Main Character, and although Isabelle wasn’t that, I hate to admit that, I really wished she was! Nevertheless this book is absolutely still one of my favourites of all time and I don’t regret reading it at all. I would recommend, but i do know that it wont to be to the other people likings (I just know okay?) but I stand by it!

I would totally, absolutely, positively recommend this book- it was great, yes sad, but it had happy moments too. I am shook, although I was not expecting any less as I have read one of Raven’s other book just recently too, ‘Losing Levi’, which I may say was equally as brilliant. Now before reading these two books in the past week I laughed at those who said they cried whilst reading a book but now I realise that it is real to feel those emotions whilst reading books, however it does have to be a good book. This was amazing, I can’t express it enough! You did a brilliant job Raven!!! Again, I would totally recommend (and after this I have a feeling I’m going to have a hard time finding another good book!)!! xoxo.

This is YA but mature omg I loved this story it told of a young girl in foster care finally getting her dream family but she had to go through a lot! Also Izzy has a lot of trust issues so when a boy comes In her life will she let him in as well as her new foster family?
