When Kate applies for a job at Eastleigh Stables, she has no idea that her new boss will be none other than her first love, Oliver - and her past is about to fall headlong into her future. Set amidst the beautiful English countryside, and the vibrant sport of eventing, the story takes in the twists and turns of a life well lived, with all of its ups and downs, and the complexity of human emotion that only the process of life can make simple.
This book is NOT "horse fluff", but it is powerful
Digs hard into what makes us tick. I am sharing the realizations on the last page or so with at least one young lady I know who has been struggling her way through demons. I think she's on her way now and I know she's strong.
We all need that bay to be there for us at some point in our lives.
I set out to read a horse story that became a traditional love story. Boy was I wrong. The author has unexpected surprises in store till the very end. It’s like a treasure trove. There are many lightbulb moments and flashes of “oh my” during the main characters turbulent journey. I very much enjoyed this novel.
