Fizz has solved his first real case as an undercover police dog, but his next assignment is about to get personal. Two handbag dogs have been kidnapped at red-carpet events in Sunnyvale City, and now there's another victim: Fizz's sister Crystal! Sergeant Stern sends Fizz, Remi and Amadeus undercover as dog models at the spectacular Shrill Alarm Collar launch. And in order to catch the culprit in the act, Fizz is going to be the bait!
The team has to solve another case and this time it's personal for Fizz. His sister is one of the dogs that has been kidnapped. Together with Remi and Amadeus, he goes undercover as dog models to promote a new alarm collar. He figures out who the kidnappers are but not before they are all kidnapped themselves. I'm not thrilled with the part where the kidnappers are going to kill all six dogs by hitting them with a bat but it may be subtle enough that younger readers will not understand.
Fizz is on the case, but the stakes are higher when his sister is dognapped. The author keeps the voice consistent with the characters and their thinking. Another fun case to solve. The visuals are great and the mix of fun and problem-solving are good clean fun for kids. Hopefully the author writes more cases.
This series is so cute and perfect for all dog lovers. It is perfect for those little friends who are just getting interested in reading chapter books. It isn't too long and definitely keeps their attention!
Great ending to the series. Fizz and his undercover friends need to use their smarts and skills to not only figure out who the dognappers are but catch them too. It was nice to see a positive resolution to the tension between Fizz and Amadeus too.
At the Sunnyvale red carpet grand gazebo and a big problem of the handbag dognapper.Undercover police dog needs to solve this mystery but with risk and the undercover police dog faces the risk to solve this mystery.
The kids loved this series, and couldn't get enough of Fizz and Remi. The themes of friendship and self belief are nicely tied up in the final instalment.
I read this series with my six year old and he really enjoyed them. They were fun books and he looked forward to finding out what was going to happen next.
For the first time I have found a book that my son will not let me stop reading! My five year old loves these books!! Thank you Lesley Gibbs and Stephen Michael King!
Absolutely loved reading this series aloud to my 4 kiddos. From age 10 to age 3, they all enjoyed listening and continually pleaded for one more chapter.
A great final installment to the first 4 books released, Book 4 is definitely the best "mystery" of the 4 but it does have some heavier themes that some parents may want to know about before letting their child read it. The book revolves around kidnapping (well, dognapping) and it includes a scene where the dogs are drugged and taken to a bunker of sorts. For most adults this isn't a big deal since we're familiar with the details that usually surround a kidnapping scenario, but my 4 yr old did seem a little concerned and I used my own instinct to edit how I read it to him. Ultimately it was a happy ending, but it did get kind of heavy there for a chapter or two. On that note though, this is a series about a police dog, so it's not so out of the realm of possibility that these type of issues would be explored.
All things considered, this is a super fun series that my son has loved listening to and I've even personally loved reading! Truth be told, several nights we stopped reading for the night and it took everything in me to not pick up the book and finish it! Ha! A great series that is engaging, well-thought out and fun to read!
