I love the illustrations. The perspective of the small insect creatures is wonderful. They are playful, yet realistic. I can imagine both the writer and the illustrator, spending a lot of time in the insect world. Great story for summer and as fictional introduction to the creepy crawlies we find in our yards.
Gorgeous illustrations of all sorts of insects and spiders highlight this rhyming book about a contest to determine which among them is the biggest pest. We've borrowed this book from the library a few times. It's fun and our girls really like all the bugs.
This book has great illustrations. It talks about different insects and how there is a talent contest to see which insect is the best pest. The illustrations are from the view of an insect so everything is extra large. Cute Story!
Pest Fest by Julia Durango, illustrated by Kurt Cyrus - poetry - really enjoyed reading this poetry book which was quite the surprise, one poem, one long poem, one funny long poem, one special funny long poem... here's to unexpected poetry surprises!
"The prince of persecution" wins the pest fest! Funny...looks like it would be a good read for the lower grades up to 2nd grade because they have a fascination with bugs and this could be a start-off point for studying each insect more in depth.
Bugs of all kinds compete to see who's the biggest pest in this picture book. The rhyming text makes for a good read-aloud and the bug illustrations are truely impressive.
A talent show for bugs. The fly is worried. She doesn't sing, or glow, or look beautiful. But she is the best at pestering animals and humans. She wins the show.
All the bugs are competing for the title of Best Pest. But is it their beauty that will win? Their talent? The number of legs? Poor housefly doesn’t think he stands a chance no matter what the criteria is. But wait ... what does housefly do all day? He pesters dogs, bothers cats, heckle humans ... he is, in fact, the Prince of Persecution. He wins the Best Pest of the Year!
The announcement was made that the Pest Fest talent show was beginning. All the insects were invited to tell how they are the best at being a pest. The fly is sad that it has no talent compared to others. Cute story, great rhyme, beautiful illustrations, funny ending.
