This was a YA contemporary story about a girl and boy who had previously been together, but had broken up.
I liked Bridget and thought that she was a good person, even if she did make mistakes whilst drunk. She knew that what she had done was wrong though, and did her best to make up for it.
The storyline in this alternated between Bridget in the present day, and her boyfriend Wil in the past. We found out why they had broken up, and why they hadn’t gotten back together, and then an event happened which brought them together again. It’s hard to say more spoiling the surprises, but I liked the twists in this book, and even though I guessed the biggest twist quite early on, I still enjoyed the story, and the secrets as they were revealed were quite heart-breaking.
The ending to this was quite open, and I really wanted to find out what happened next!

Bridge y Will se conocieron desde pequeños en la escuela y desde entonces son mejores amigos, eran inseparables. Ellos pasaban juntos la mayor parte del tiempo, sobre todo en la casa de Will, donde su padre Wilson reparaba botes. Al pasar del tiempo, fueron creciendo, ya en la secundaria sus sentimientos de amistad se fortalecieron aún más y florecieron hasta enamorarse. Todo era perfecto entre ellos dos, se querían más que a nada en el mundo, pero un error hace que se rompa su relación, ese lazo tan irrompible que tenían se desvanece. Después de esto no saben cómo acercarse, parecen desconocidos, ahora cada quien va por su lado sin dirigirse la palabra, hasta que algo ocurre en la familia de Will y Bridge regresa para darle todo su apoyo, pero ya no son los mismos y se tendrán que enfrentar a heridas y secretos guardados.
Estoy escribiendo esto y tengo tantos sentimientos encontrados con esta historia, la mayor parte siento decepción, es que es un libro que cuando inicié me estaba gustando muchísimo, pero la autora dejó tantas cosas inconclusas y también por eso siento tristeza.
Es la primera vez que leo algo de esta autora y si bien este fue un libro que no me cautivó tanto, en su escritura sentí los sentimientos que quería transmitir con la historia, mantiene expectante, aunque el secreto que había ya lo veía venir, pero si dolió.
Con respecto a Will y Bridge, fueron personajes que los sentí reales, cometían errores, que tienen traumas y heridas no sanadas, puede que en algunos momentos haya conectado con ellos, y todo el trasfondo de la situación de Will me dolió, pero la mayor parte los sentí normalitos, o sea no fueron personajes que se adentraron en mi corazón. Su relación romántica me gustó, esa conexión que transmitían, que se apoyaban y se entendían el uno al otro fue muy bonito, y si tengo que elegir entre uno de ellos dos, escogería a Will, que, aunque no llegué a conectar del todo con él me pareció un chico bastante agradable, amable, tan bueno y su dolor lo pude sentir, me dolió bastante. Bridge me estresaba en algunos momentos, quería entenderla y ponerme en su lugar, pero no pude conectar con ella como esperaba.
El libro está narrando en los dos puntos de vista de los protagonistas, por una parte, tenemos a Bridge narrando en el presente y a Will narrando en el pasado, aunque al final del libro se entrelaza todo esto, esta parte me gustó el conocer todo en el antes y el después de su historia.
Me estaba gustando, el tema central del libro me estaba doliendo bastante, pero lo que hizo que le pusiera esta nota fue el final tan abierto, es que tantas cosas quedaron inconclusas y yo odio mucho eso, cuando terminé el libro estuve tan decepcionada y me dolió e impresionó que ya hubiese acabado. Los finales abiertos y yo no nos llevamos bien. Esta fue la parte que arruinó todo.
Otro punto negativo que siento por este libro es que la autora dejó a los personajes secundarios a un lado, como de relleno, con respecto a ellos también quedaron tantas cosas al aire. La señora Minna, amiga de Bridge, siento que la dejaron a la deriva no entendí muy bien como terminó todo para ella y fue un personaje que me gustó.
En conclusión, una historia con bastante drama, la autora hace que quieras conocer más y más de los personajes y que pasará con ellos, ligero, aunque algunos momentos los sentí muy de relleno, no conecté con los personajes como me hubiese gustado, pero la historia en sí estuvo bien, muchas frases las pude sentir y se adentraron un poquito en mi corazón, solo que odio muchísimo los finales abiertos y eso se puede evidenciar en la calificación que le puse.

Estoy escribiendo esto y tengo tantos sentimientos encontrados con esta historia, la mayor parte siento decepción, es que es un libro que cuando inicié me estaba gustando muchísimo, pero la autora dejó tantas cosas inconclusas y también por eso siento tristeza.

La historia tenía mucho potencial, más que nada por los temas que trata, pero no pude conectar con ninguno de los personajes.
El gran misterio, del que se hace alarde en la sinopsis, se puede ver desde los primeros capítulos. Traté de dejar de lado mi decepción por eso y esperando un buen desarrollo de la historia lo terminé. No solo la protagonista me pareció una tonta total, sino que no terminé de entender su relación de Wil y con su amiga (que por cierto ya olvidé el nombre). Nunca se explica como terminaron siendo amigas y no sabemos mucho más de ella, razón por lo cual su relación con la amiga me pareció hiper tóxica y conveniente.
El punto fuerte de este libro es el tema tabú que toca, como la violencia familiar. En esto tengo que cederle la razón, me encantó como esta relatado y lo tóxico que puede llegar a ser para los integrantes de la familia. Me daba ganas de abrazat a Wil y decirle que todo iba a estar bien.

Trigger warning: domestic violence
The End of Our Story is a book that I picked up solely because it contains my favourite romance trope of all time, second chance romance. But it ended up wowing me for so much more than just the romance. I loved the themes that were explored in this book and I thought the author handled them all very well.
This novel is told from dual perspectives and two different timelines. In the present, we follow our lead female, Bridge, as she deals with seeing her former best friend and boyfriend, Wil, now with a different girl after her betrayal a year ago. When a tragic loss in Wil’s family presents Bridge with the opportunity to reconnect with Wil and be there for him in his time of grief, Bridge jumps at the chance to earn his forgiveness. But there are dark secrets in Wil’s family that prevent them from making any progress in their relationship, and we get to find out what these secrets are from Wil’s perspective, which is written from the past. I absolutely loved the writing in this book and found it really easy to follow the dual timelines. I connected with the story from the very first page and I was so captivated by the story and the storytelling that I finished the novel in just one sitting. I did find some things to be slightly predictable but I actually didn’t mind it because I don’t think this novel was intended to be a suspenseful read in any way. I liked having little seeds planted in my mind as I read the book and I enjoyed everything as they were revealed.
This book tackles some heavy topics, just like Meg Haston’s previous YA novel, Paperweight, which dealt with eating disorders. This book deals with domestic violence and I thought it was handled well and given enough thought and page-time that the novel really did it justice. It was uncomfortable to read at times but I liked the way that the story played out and thought it was successful in shining a light on the issue. My only criticism and why I took off half a star from my rating is because I felt like the ending could have been a little bit more resolved. But I also did like it the way that it was.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Both of the main characters are flawed and it was so easy to relate to them. I liked the first person narration a lot and enjoyed reading about their insecurities and it allowed me to really appreciate their strength and resilience. I really loved Bridge as a main character and found her to be really likable. It was nice to see her character growth throughout the novel and I finished the book wanting to know more about her and read more about her. I loved the way she interacted with her mother and her younger brother throughout the book and the way that she tried to be a great friend to those who matter to her. I also absolutely loved Wil as well and thought he was such a sweetheart. Bridge and Wil’s relationship together was definitely one of my favourite aspects of the book because of how well the second chance romance was executed. I thought all of the anger and the tension between the two were extremely valid and I enjoyed reading about the two of them together and would be happy to read a dozen more books about the two of them.
I thought The End of Our Story was a brilliantly executed book that tackles some heavy topics with great care. I enjoyed the plot of the book and fell in love with the characters and the friendships in the novel. It’s made me extremely excited for Meg Haston’s next YA release.

Funny that a book titled “The end of our story” is missing an actual ending. I’m not a fan of the “leave you hanging” type endings to begin with, but this one in particular frustrated me because of the title. I honestly liked the book. I mean, the whole reveal thing was a tad obvious in my opinion and of course their immaturity bothered me at times but the story itself was easy to jump into and feel a part of. I just wish there was more of an outcome. Perhaps if she had plans for a second book or some sort of continuation, that might help. I mean, we don’t even get to find out the outcome regarding Mina, and that’s on top of the other main issue. I don’t know, I suppose the open ending took away a lot of the appeal for me. It was still a decent read though and I hope the author gives us a continuation or follow up book.

En esta novela nos adentramos a la vida de nuestros protagonistas Bridget y Will. Los dos son narradores de la historia, aunque en su mayoría está narrada por Bridget en el tiempo presente y por Will con acontecimientos pasados.
Empieza donde su relación termino cuando ella se emborracho y cometió un error imperdonable para Will, me molesto algo eso porque digo quien es perfecto, pero bueno, esto solo paso para dar parte al desarrollo de la trama, lo cual es comprensible.
Por parte de Bridget vemos como es su vida y lo que siente desde que Will Haynes y ella terminaron, y en cambio con Will lo complicada que se volvía su vida desde que dejo su amistad con ella.
La verdad que me ha parecido una historia muy agradable y entretenida. No es la mega historia de amor épica ni nada por el estilo, pero si tuvo sus buenos momentos y algunos otros desagradables pero como en cualquier historia, no todo puede ser color de rosas.
El libro no esta tan largo, lo leí en un suspiro, así que aunque puede ser algo predecible ya que de por medio hay un asunto que me lo veía venir desde casi al principio, se disfruta con la dinámica de la relación entre los protagonistas y ver que pasaba entre ellos.
El final aunque queda algo abierto creo que estuvo muy bien que así quedara y sin necesidad de tener continuación, porque hay veces que me encuentro con historias que solo se alargan para crear mas drama innecesario lo cual odio y muchas veces no continuo leyendo, pero este no es el caso con este libro, fue un novela donde también se trata temas sociales de hoy en día, con reflexiones que a veces en muchos libros no te encuentras pero en este si los hay.
En fin, me gusto para pasar el ratito, pero nada mas.

This book went from something I thought was going to be a beautiful love story to something so strange. I found it predictable and unbelievable and a lot of annoying. Did not like any of the characters and overall just not happy about it. Finished it because was listening to it as an audiobook.

“I don’t think you have to understand every little corner of a person to love them, I think you can love them first, and you spend the time you have trying to learn the parts you don’t know.”
Can you believe that after I read this, I was crying big fat tears at 3 in the morning? My heart was shattered, my feels were everywhere. Man, this was a total heartbreak to me! As soon as the Acknowledgement page hit, I literally just dropped my phone, and cry ugly tears absorbing what just happened. Damn that inconclusive ending! I seriously did not expect this to be brimming with so much sadness, but still capable of being beautiful.
Bridge and Wil have been best friends since they were young. Best friends who took years before their feelings for each other bloomed. But it only took one night to ruin everything. While they were apart, an unwanted tragedy happened to Wil's family, and Bridge wanted nothing but to piece back Wil through this horrible time in his life. Bridge is certain that Wil needed her more than anything, but is her story with Wil over? Can they ever fix what that they had together?
I liked how this book surprised me. I thought it would be solely focused on the break-up story of Wil and Bridge, and the question of will they still get back together. But I was proven wrong. I thought the story would be your typical melodramatic, sappy, break-up story, but it was more than that. There was depth to their characters, including the story elements that made them who they are. The family and peer aspects were handled well. It also had a dark issue, which I did not totally see that coming until hitting that 20% mark reveal. From that point on, I knew I had to finish it. I was deep in thought about what would happen next, and the next thing I know, intense happenings and revelations pop-out making me very eager know what would happen next.
The sudden dark twists and turns, got my heart racing so fast, I just want to get at the end of it already. Each progressive chapter, the happenings intensify until it reaches its ultimate, ugly truth type of climax.
It was my first time reading a Meg Haston's work, and I can say I was delightfully impressed by her writing. It was captivating, and thought-provokingly beautiful. She handled well the heavy issue of familial and peer aspects.
The bittersweet romance moved me in different ways. It describes well that nothing is perfect, and we are all flawed, but we aren't what we think we are because of our flaws. I loved how it also explored the darkness in the cracks, how breathing and living through the gray area of life feels, and that was really eye opening.
Overall, The End of Our Story was a powerful and deeply-rooted story about the realities and ugly truths each of us are struggling in. I like endings with bows to tie up the story, whether it was neat or messy, at least I get to see something that things were patched up. But this book was a total cliffhanger, and honestly it felt kind of lazy, and I think some closure would have been nice. However, despite that, this was a really interesting read. Wil & Bridge will make you want to capture your childhood memories like fireflies in a jar and hold onto them in hopes they won't ever burn out.
Can you believe that after I read this, I was crying big fat tears at 3 in the morning? My heart was shattered, my feels were everywhere. Man, this was a total heartbreak to me! As soon as the Acknowledgement page hit, I literally just dropped my phone, and cry ugly tears absorbing what just happened. Damn that inconclusive ending! I seriously did not expect this to be brimming with so much sadness, but still capable of being beautiful.
Bridge and Wil have been best friends since they were young. Best friends who took years before their feelings for each other bloomed. But it only took one night to ruin everything. While they were apart, an unwanted tragedy happened to Wil's family, and Bridge wanted nothing but to piece back Wil through this horrible time in his life. Bridge is certain that Wil needed her more than anything, but is her story with Wil over? Can they ever fix what that they had together?
I liked how this book surprised me. I thought it would be solely focused on the break-up story of Wil and Bridge, and the question of will they still get back together. But I was proven wrong. I thought the story would be your typical melodramatic, sappy, break-up story, but it was more than that. There was depth to their characters, including the story elements that made them who they are. The family and peer aspects were handled well. It also had a dark issue, which I did not totally see that coming until hitting that 20% mark reveal. From that point on, I knew I had to finish it. I was deep in thought about what would happen next, and the next thing I know, intense happenings and revelations pop-out making me very eager know what would happen next.
The sudden dark twists and turns, got my heart racing so fast, I just want to get at the end of it already. Each progressive chapter, the happenings intensify until it reaches its ultimate, ugly truth type of climax.
It was my first time reading a Meg Haston's work, and I can say I was delightfully impressed by her writing. It was captivating, and thought-provokingly beautiful. She handled well the heavy issue of familial and peer aspects.
The bittersweet romance moved me in different ways. It describes well that nothing is perfect, and we are all flawed, but we aren't what we think we are because of our flaws. I loved how it also explored the darkness in the cracks, how breathing and living through the gray area of life feels, and that was really eye opening.
Overall, The End of Our Story was a powerful and deeply-rooted story about the realities and ugly truths each of us are struggling in. The End of Our Story isn’t exactly what I expected… not in a bad way… I just guess I’m not sure what I think about it now that I finished it.
When the summary says romantic and thrilling, I expect romance and thrills, and I’m just not sure I got that with this story. That’s not to say that the story itself wasn’t interesting and I obviously liked it enough to finish it, but there is a lot more to this story than the summary actually implies.
Bridge and Wil have been friends since the day she moved to town. They grew up together and they grew to love each other and what starts as a friendship eventually evolves into a relationship, but where Wil is happy building boats and spending his free time with Bridge, Bridge has the urge to go out and experience life and that leads to a betrayal that Wil doesn’t think he can ever get past.
Then something unexpected happens and the man who was a father figure to Bridge violently dies, and no longer being a part of Wil’s life she struggles with trying to figure out how to deal with her grief for this man she grew to love and comfort the boy she loves, who no longer wants her to be a part of his life.
As the story slowly unravels we find that Wil’s father is not the great man that he appears to be, and the only people who know that are Wil and his mom. As you read more, you realize that yes, Wil is angry about what Bridge chose to do to their relationship, but even more than that, he’s mad that he didn’t have his best friend to confide in about what was happening in his life. So I totally got his anger.
I still don’t know how I feel about Bridge after finishing this story. She’s a character that you can understand her motivations, yet still kind of dislike.
Ultimately, don’t go into this book expecting hearts and rainbows and flowers. There’s a lot of heavy things going on and be warned for triggers relating to domestic violence.
Overall the writing was well done, and the story interesting if a bit heavier than I thought, and if open ended endings aren’t your thing… well consider this your warning.

This was a really good read. YA Contemporary/Romance is a hard genre sometimes for me because the books all seem the same after a while. It has to have something different for me to enjoy, not just about a teenage angsty romance. And this book delivered with a little something different.

El libro se volvió bastante monótono después de pasar la mitad: el gran secreto lo adivinás a las páginas y lo único que importa es la relación entre ellos. No me gustaron los personajes (mucho menos Bridge-- Dios, el mundo no da vueltas alrededor de tu upite, amiga), a excepción de los secundarios e híper secundarios: Micah (my fav!!!), Leigh, Minna, Ned... de los cuales al final no sabemos nada porque se flashea final híper mega archi abierto.
Anyway, hubiera sido un 3/5 si no hubiera tenido un mensaje tan ambiguo sobre el amor y las relaciones; la relación entre Wil y Bridge es típicamente violenta (sin abuso físico) x1000 y me incomodó durante todo el libro. Eso horrible.
Pero trata sobre un tema tan fuerte como es la violencia doméstica (aunque se queda atrás con el tema de género), y lo considero un buen inicio en el YA disponible de nuestro país con respecto al tema. Taking baby steps, como se hizo con los del género LGBTQ+, para que poco a poco deje de ser tabú.

The tragedy even has a bit of a mystery to it. With all that it feels like it should be a winner. But sadly, it was missing something. For me, that something was an actual ending. By leaving it the way she (the author) did...with considerably more than an open-ended ending...I feel bereft without some kind of closure.

My daughter recommended this book to me and I loved it. She knows my taste in books.I kind of guessed at the end and even though I was right I still really enjoyed the book. Will and Bridge were a cute couple and I liked how the author made what seemed like a perfect family not perfect at all. In fact it broke my heart. I loved Minna, Bridges court appointed project but later friend and sounding block. I could read a story just on Minna's life too. Good book if you want a fast paced read.

The End of Our Story was really different to what I was expecting, I don’t know what I really expected to leave with, but I didn’t think I’d be left reeling and a little upset, Wil and Bridge’s relationship was beautifully done. I liked how Haston didn’t give us their complete story in one go, but switched between past and present in the chapters. I was quite gutted when I found out how things had ended between Wil and Bridge, as to me their relationship was a beautiful one, and also It’d sort of made me want to take a step back from Bridge’s character. But over the course of the story Bridge was able to win me back once more, she did make a couple of mistakes along the way, but she was one character who I’d wanted to get their happy ending. It was unfortunate the turn of events that bought Wil and Bridge back together and the back story that emerged from it did take me by surprise, as it had me constantly questioning whether I could trust every single character. The End of Our Story was a really beautifully written story with a lot of emotional punches along the way and although I was able to guess a couple of things, this didn’t take away the enjoyment of the book at all. I just wished that we’d got some sort of epilogue, just so that I could have peace of mind about how things ended. Despite this minor qualm aside, The End of Our Story was a poignant story and one I’m glad I didn’t miss out on reading this year.

El libro me pareció tan ligero. Una historia tan atrayente y cautivadora. Para nada metodica o complicada. Es algo que puedes leer y sientes como una brisa refrescante, como un descanso, algo que necesitabas.
Y justo ahora que no tengo tanto tiempo, un libro que ha pesar de tener +300pag te atrapa sin mesura es lo que necesitaba.
Me gustaron muchísimo los protagonistas. Porque son muy reales, no los adolescentes a los que la pasan extraordinarias y no puedes llegar a identificarse. No.
Esto comienza como una historia de dos adolescentes con un amor frustrado, y pasa a dar un giro total para ser una novela de misterio con algo de drama necesario.
El inicio me gustó, el desarrollo me gustó y bueno... Ahora hablemos del desenlace.

Odio los finales abiertos.
A veces los soporto porque dan a entender un final. Pero este noooo!!! Que quiere decir con las últimas líneas!!!? No se sabe. No se sobreentiende.

BRIDGE SE VA A MIAMI? MINA DESPIERTA???
NO PUEDO CON ESTE FINAL. Literalmente termine de leer el último párrafo y comencé a buscar el resto de la historia porque no entendía que terminara así.

Wow recién termine este libro y estoy sorprendida
♡Empecé este libro sin saber absolutamente nada, lo cual agradezco ya que cuando comencé la historia, pensé que iba a desarrollarse de una manera muy evidente, pero no fue así, esto hizo que me mantuviera súper enganchada desde un principio.
♡Hay ciertas cosas que no me gustaron tanto, por ejemplo siento que el romance está muy poco desarrollado igualmente lo que me mantuvo enganchada no fue romance sino algo que pasa en la historia que es 🤯.
♡como hay ciertas cosas que capaz no ame, esto no quita que este libro me haya encantado y así fue.

Because I don't enjoy books with open endings, this one just wasn't for me.
That being said, I must add that I absolutely loved the writing, how the story is written in this almost poetic way. The characters are very real and you can definitely feel their struggles throughout the story.
I wish there had been at least an epilogue, it would've made the ending a thousand times better FOR ME.
If you don't mind open endings, you'll probably love this beautiful story about falling in love, coming of age, struggling to find your path through life and do the right thing for yourself and others.

No me había gustado mucho al principio pero después, al final, una vez que la autora cierra bien la idea me gustó. Aún así no me termino de cerrar cómo contó las cosas, sentí que rellenó mucho con cosas que no importaban, dramatizó absolutamente TODO y en ningún momento llegué a encariñarme con ningún personaje. Me hubiese gustado que se centrara mucho más en las últimas 50 páginas y concluya bien la historia (ese final fue re ??) pero bueno, que no es un mal libro y trata una problemática no muy vista en la literatura juvenil, aplaudo de pie eso.

This book was outstanding! Meg Haston knows exactly how to write a beautiful, and heartbreaking contemporary. This amazing book had one of the biggest plot twist EVER, I didn't see it coming, and an author that can do that is a great author. In February when this book comes out EVERYONE buy it!! <3<3<3<3

Very well written story. I loved Wil and Bridge and the ending was not what I was expecting. I wish there was an Epilogue. Anyways, it's still a really good book.

Bridge y Will son mejores amigos desde que eran pequeños. Conocen sus miedos y sueños. Su amistad era profunda y real. Poco a poco sus sentimientos empezaron a cambiar hasta tomar otra forma y se dieron cuenta que se habían enamorado. Todo iba perfecto entre ellos, pero las fiestas y el alcohol son una mala combinación. Esa noche Bridge comete un error que cambia su relación con Will y todo lo que habían construido ambos. A partir de ese momento, se dan de hablar; ya no son novios ni amigos.
Otra noche, tiempo después de que Will y Bridge terminaran, la familia de Will vive una experiencia triste y terrorífica. Bridge puede acercarse a él de nuevo e intentar reparar lo que había entre ellos. Pero en ese tiempo que han pasado separados han cambiado. Bridge ya no es la misma chica. Will ya no es el mismo chico, y ahora, tiene una carga más en su corazón que podría impedir que las cosas entre él y Bridge funcionen si no son los suficientemente fuertes.
Es la primera vez que leo algo de la autora y me sentía en blanco mientras empezaba la historia. No sabía que podría encontrarme y al final acabó sorprendiéndome.
Para empezar me gustó el estilo de la autora, es muy triste y cruel lo que los personajes viven, la manera en la que Will y Bridge sienten y expresan sus sentimientos me llegó al corazón. Todo eso, los temas delicados que se tocan y los giros que toma la trama dan al libro un aire realista.
El libro es narrado por Will y Bridge. Podemos conocer a cada uno de ellos en sus capítulos. Me gustó como la historia fue transcurriendo. Bridge nos narraba hechos del presente mientras Will del pasado. En cierto punto de la historia, ambas perspectivas se cruzan y siguen una misma línea de tiempo, esto solo logra que el libro se vuelva mucho más interesante de lo que ya lo era.
Tuve conflictos con Bridge, sentí que en ciertos momentos se comportaba muy boba y era desesperante su actitud.
Will es un personaje que me llegó. Es un chico realmente fuerte. Sus pensamientos, acciones y sentimientos no se entienden por completo o más bien se ven desde una perspectiva diferente una vez conocemos toda su historia. Es muy dulce, me gustó mucho como trata a Bridge, leer como la quiere y a su familia también, hizo que mi corazón se derritiera y se rompiera también. No merecía pasar todo lo que le sucedió, de verdad que no.
Hay otros personajes en el libro, cada uno aporta algo a la trama y le dan un toque especial.
La autora no dudó a la hora de tocar algunos temas, en especial el central. No creo haber leído algún libro YA que tocara los temas que se dan en esta historia, pero la autora supo manejar cada uno de ellos a la perfección. No hizo una historia rosa, expresó todo de una manera cruda, que en mi opinión fue lo mejor; la vida no es toda rosa y tampoco toda negra, esto lo volvió uno de esos libros que te dejan reflexionando un buen rato.
Me gustó el final. Para llegar a esta conclusión tuve que pensar bastante sobre todo lo que había leído los últimos dos días, porque además se termina bien rápido. La historia toma un giro, que aunque ya me lo venía oliendo en u principio, no quita que no haya sido un golpe al corazón.
La autora nos brinda un final abierto, pero no es de esos que te llenan de furia queriendo tirar el libro por una ventana o quemarlo mientra se baila alrededor de él y se les pide al dios de los finales que no permita que se profane la tierra con finales como aquel. El final de esta historia como todo lo que se leyó antes de esas últimas páginas, es triste, crudo, emotivo, realista y te deja un sentimiento de esperanza; perfecto para todo lo que se leyó en páginas antes.
Estoy teniendo mucho cuidado para no revelar nada trascendental del libro que pueda ser un spoiler y arruinarles la lectura.
Pero les puedo decir que si deciden leer el libro, no se van a encontrar una historia super romántica. Es un libro con personajes rotos, que han cometidos errores y tratan de vivir con ellos y superarlos a pesar de los difícil que puede ser. Por supuesto tiene su dosis de amor, la relación entre Will y Bridge lo refleja de principio a fin, y como ellos interactúan con sus respectivas familias también.
Aunque encontré algunos puntos negativos, como la misma Bridge (¡porque de verdad que esta chica me desesperaba mucho!) y en varios capítulos sentía que las cosas se tornaban lentas, fue una historia que disfruté bastante.

Tuve conflictos con Bridge, sentí que en ciertos momentos se comportaba muy boba y era desesperante su actitud.
Will es un personaje que me llegó. Es un chico realmente fuerte. Sus pensamientos, acciones y sentimientos no se entienden por completo o más bien se ven desde una perspectiva diferente una vez conocemos toda su historia. Es muy dulce, me gustó mucho como trata a Bridge, leer como la quiere y a su familia también, hizo que mi corazón se derritiera y se rompiera también. No merecía pasar todo lo que le sucedió, de verdad que no.
Hay otros personajes en el libro, cada uno aporta algo a la trama y le dan un toque especial.
La autora no dudó a la hora de tocar algunos temas, en especial el central. No creo haber leído algún libro YA que tocara los temas que se dan en esta historia, pero la autora supo manejar cada uno de ellos a la perfección. No hizo una historia rosa, expresó todo de una manera cruda, que en mi opinión fue lo mejor; la vida no es toda rosa y tampoco toda negra, esto lo volvió uno de esos libros que te dejan reflexionando un buen rato.

Me gustó el final. Para llegar a esta conclusión tuve que pensar bastante sobre todo lo que había leído los últimos dos días, porque además se termina bien rápido. La historia toma un giro, que aunque ya me lo venía oliendo en u principio, no quita que no haya sido un golpe al corazón.
La autora nos brinda un final abierto, pero no es de esos que te llenan de furia queriendo tirar el libro por una ventana o quemarlo mientra se baila alrededor de él y se les pide al dios de los finales que no permita que se profane la tierra con finales como aquel. El final de esta historia como todo lo que se leyó antes de esas últimas páginas, es triste, crudo, emotivo, realista y te deja un sentimiento de esperanza; perfecto para todo lo que se leyó en páginas antes.
Estoy teniendo mucho cuidado para no revelar nada trascendental del libro que pueda ser un spoiler y arruinarles la lectura.
Pero les puedo decir que si deciden leer el libro, no se van a encontrar una historia super romántica. Es un libro con personajes rotos, que han cometidos errores y tratan de vivir con ellos y superarlos a pesar de los difícil que puede ser. Por supuesto tiene su dosis de amor, la relación entre Will y Bridge lo refleja de principio a fin, y como ellos interactúan con sus respectivas familias también.
Aunque encontré algunos puntos negativos, como la misma Bridge (¡porque de verdad que esta chica me desesperaba mucho!) y en varios capítulos sentía que las cosas se tornaban lentas, fue una historia que disfruté bastante.

Si no recuerdo mal, esta historia fue publicada hace un par de meses ya, en su momento me llamaba bastante la atención, pero por una cosa u otra, no pude hacerme con un ejemplar de este libro, hasta este mes y a creo que fue culpa de todas las ganas que le tenía, el hecho de que no haya terminado de disfrutarlo de más.
La historia es sencilla, a pesar de tener dos saltos temporales, el pasado y el presente, en los cuales, se nos cuenta la historia de amor de Bridge y Will, no se hace pesada ni muy elaborada.
Bridge y Will son un par de adolescentes, cuya amistad se convirtió en amor y por primera vez, no fue un instalove, lo cual se agradece, digamos que su cariño crece de a poco y es entendible, aun cuando fuese bastante obvio, y creo que hasta aquí llega lo que me gustó de la historia, y no digo que sea una mala historia, ni siquiera es un mal libro, lo que quiero decir es que no logré conectar con los protagonistas para nada. Entiendo por completo que sea un libro juvenil, y el comportamiento tan inmaduro de ambos, pero de verdad, había diálogos con los que simplemente no podía, acciones y escenas que me hacían poner los ojos en blanco. Les prometo que desde la página 77 yo ya sabía toda la verdad acerca de lo que pasó esa noche de primavera, y cuando estaba llegando a las ultimas páginas, esperaba con todo mi ser estar equivocado, pero no, no lo estuve.
Los protagonistas tienen un perfil demasiado obvio, infantil e inmaduro, sobre todo Will, para mi es entendible el motivo por el cual su relación se rompió, pero ni siquiera a esa parte de la historia se le da la fuerza necesaria para ser convincente, no se profundiza en el sentimiento de traición, lo cual lo hace parecer un acto inmaduro y sin mucho sentido.
Creo que los personajes secundarios están mejor trabajados respecto a algunas cosas, pero el final es tan abierto, que deja inconclusas demasiadas cosas acerca de todos los caminos que abrió la autora, y es que entiendo lo del final abierto en la historia de los protagonistas, pero, ¿qué hay de Minna y de Leigh? Para mi eran lo mejorcito de la historia y al final ni me satisfizo con los protagonistas del todo, ni tampoco con los secundarios, venga que ni siquiera sentí empatía por Micah (el hermano de Bridge) ni por Henney (la mamá de Will), la mamá de Bridge es quien mejor me cayó y es que me recordó mucho a mi madre.
Como ya dije, creo que esta historia tenía un potencial enorme, pero la autora creó tantas historias paralelas que no pudo con todas y al final dejó un sabor bastante amargo respecto a la historia.
La ambientación es lo que más me gustó de este libro, y es que a pesar de que tampoco profundiza en estas partes, se llega a sentir por momentos el amor hacia el mar y la naturaleza.
En conclusión, ‘’El final de nuestra historia’’ es un libro que tenía mucho potencial, pero que desde mi perspectiva, la autora no supo manejar del todo bien. Es un libro ligero, para leer rápido e ideal para un verano en el que tengas muchas cosas que hacer, poco tiempo para leer y ganas de leer.

I was very close to giving this a one star and I don't think I've ever rated a book that low so I'm really gonna give it a 1.5. I didn't like this book at all. It was predictable and repetitive and I think the plot was awful and terribly planned out. It's like everything to make a good book was there but it got overshadowed by cringey unnecessary romance scenes. Wil's parts of the book were the only parts that I enjoyed. They were by far the strongest and they felt real and interesting and suspenseful. I'd have enjoyed this book so much if the whole plot was about Wil's homelife and him navigating it with their relationship as a side. Wil's story was so well written and unfolded great it's just Bridges perspective that ruined it for me. I think it would've been better for the middle of the book to touch on Bridge deciding what to do and the outcome at the end. The whole beginning of the book was boring and it felt like there wasn't much of a plot at all. Also, Bridges character arc was poorly planned too in my opinion. I'm not a writer or anything but I feel like if she was written to be such a selfish mc we should've seen resolution for that or THATS what the book should've mainly been about. I know teenagers are madly in love sometimes but it sorta unrealistic to me and like a huge loss of a potentially awesome book. I just feel like this book tried to tackle so much and Meg did a bad job of executing it. I was so excited to read this because I loved Paperweight (gonna reread it soon) and I just got bummed out.

Termine este libro y tengo que decir que tengo sentimientos encontrados y les digo por qué , la historia del libro es linda pero al terminar de leerlo me quedaron muchas pregunta ,hubieron cosas que no me terminaron de convencer y sentí por momentos que la autora daba más importancia al romance qué hay en la historia porque si en este libro hay romance pero hay otro tema más importante que siento que lo trato poco en la historia ya que cuando lo hizo solo lo trato en un capítulo, para mi tenía que haberse tratado más ya que el protagonista masculino que se llama Will pasó por una situación traumante. La autora tiene una manera de escribir re linda y ligera porque en verdad el libro lo leí rápido, solo que me pasó eso el final fue sobre todo para mi muy frustrante porque quedé con muchas preguntas. Es una buena historia con frases muy lindas lo reconozco pero no es que la ame. Los protagonistas de esta historia Will y Bridge me gustaron mucho, su historia es linda y que se nota que se aman demasiado por cómo son ellos dos juntos, me gustó mucho la forma como se conocen cada uno sabe cada cosa del otro.

I got an ARC of this book from work, so I am reviewing that edition. The concept of the plot was definitely unique, but you could tell fairly early on that either Wil or his mother was the killer. The book itself was average in every way. The only special thing, the plot, was spoiled by its predictability. I also hated the ending. There were way too many unanswered questions.

My Thoughts: I was really torn on this one. We are introduced to Wil and Bridge. They have been friends since they were kids, and then got romantically involved, and then things didn’t turn out quite how they wanted it too.
I really liked Bridge and Wil both but at times, I was hesitant to like either of them. Each had their ups and downs to their personalities. I really enjoyed the plot of this one. Wil’s dad isn’t who everyone thought he was, and there was more to the story. And when it all comes out, Wil knows what he must do and it’s hard for him. It’s hard to really even admit his dad wasn’t the perfect guy everyone thought he was. And Wil is afraid he’ll be just like him. This one was complicated as heck!
This one really pulled at my heartstrings. It was just so emotional and having lost people in my life, I understood the heartbreak.
I liked this one, and while reading it I needed to know what happened next. I haven’t read Paperweight yet by this author, so I will add that to my list!
Overall: I’m not sure if I ever really liked Bridge or Wil. This one did make me tear up a few times but at others, I wanted to throw something! HAHAHA. I’d say this is probably more between a 3.5 and 4 cupcake rating for me!

This book was heavy on the angst and the sadness. I don't think either Wil's or Bridge's actions are excusable. I would've cared more for the connection between Bridge and Wil if we got more context and flashbacks from their childhood. I felt like we spent too much time in the present to appreciate their history. The fact that they got together at a party felt pretty cheap (although I did like that they fancied each other).
It's kind of sad to think that they're a forever kind of thing because their world is so small. How many people lead simple lives where they live happily ever after with their childhood sweetheart? I kinda want Bridge to go to college and find her whole world open up.
Domestic violence is not an easy topic, and I'm glad it was brought up the way it was. I could smell the "secret" a mile away, but eagerly anticipated the fallout. It didn't quite deliver.
