Rokuro is amping up his fight with Kankuro. Rokuro doesn't like being seen as less-than, but he also wants to take every opportunity he can to be better and to prove himself. So he doesn't want any opponent to take it easy on him. He will take every fight as far as he can, I think. In the second half of the volume, Shimon is against Tenma. Both of these fights have a lot to them, including a lot of back story. There's a lot of remembering as each character is pushed and things get dirty. I've fallen so far back in this series, that I don't really connect with the characters anymore. And these Colosseum battles don't really do much for me, I don't think.
A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!
An incredible continuation of the tournament arc! I love the fights so much, it's fun getting to know everyone. Also, Narumi's backstory on how he met his wife was so damn sweet! The final chapter in the volume was pretty dark, but I'm curious to see where the tournament goes from here.
Everyone fights a bunch and talks about how tragic their backstories are. Someone unironically mutters "think of the children" as a battlecry. Magical girls show up and step on people. And the people in charge have a conspiracy of sorts, wow what a shocker.
I found it interesting to see the back stories of Kankuro and Tenma. the back story of Narumi was also nice to see how he got to know his wife. I loved Rokuro's fight against Kankuro. this volume ends with a cliffhanger in the middle of Tenma and Shimon's fight.
The tournament continues, wrapping up Rokuro's fight from the previous volume. Another cliff hanger as the volume ends on the final match of the tournament between Tenma and Shimon.
An incredible continuation of the tournament arc! I love the fights so much, it's fun to see everyone's personalities shine in combat. Also, Narumi's backstory on how he met his wife was so damn sweet! The final chapter in the volume was pretty dark, but I'm curious to see where the tournament goes from here. Really loving this arc so far!
