Have tissues and some sort of "pick me up" ready when you finish this. Absolutely floored me. The way the ending was written was so final, yet so hopeful. I haven't read a book yet thats given me the same feeling of utter despair mingled with joy at the end. Rukis is truly the best author in the furry fandom. Masterpiece!

This book was a haunting conclusion to what began as a desperate grab for freedom by these characters, and grew into so much more. The characterization of Raja, Anala, and Lavanya was extremely well done in this book, and by the end of it I felt that I’d come to really care about them. And it was satisfying to see Ahsan finally come into his own, despite the rather heartbreaking ending. The epilogue, though, gave me hope, as is the message of this book. Maybe I’ll find that hope when I start reading the Red Lantern graphic novel.

This book had me for a thrill ride, as did the one before it. It is, canonically, where everything starts. The graphic novel branches off from this, which again introduces characters who have their own stories.
But this series is probably the best one I've read from this author. The ending is a powerful statement, and emotionally impactful. The last chapter from the main characters point of view starts in such a heartfelt manner that it brought tears to my eyes, and the end left me fulfilled, and yet begging for more. Its the good kind of shaggy dog ending that rounds off the story instead of cutting it off.
I will never tire of this book. I will show it to my children (when they're old enough) and my partner, and my friends, and anyone else whom I trust.

Honestly, Legacy Dawn and Legacy Dusk were absolutely the best books I've ever read!!! To be fair though, I have not read a lot of books in my young twenty-five years, but I never thought I could get so emotionally attached to a novel in my life! I especially fell in love with both Kadar and Ashan from the start till the bitter end. I also love how Rukis focused a lot more on Anala, Raja and Lavanya and made them all a huge part of Legacy Dusk, fell in love with them all. This novel has pretty much everything in my honest opinion. Adventure, twists, cliff hangers, action, great dialogue and romance, (mostly between Kadar and Ashan where they left off from, Legacy Dawn). Though I do hate to admit it, the ending did make me cry... a lot I might add. Hopefully the epilogue will continue into the 'Red Lantern' comic and will set me at some ease, because I do need some sort of closure. Thank you for the amazing adventure, Rukis! Easily five stars! ^^

Brief review: An excellent conclusion to the story of Kadar and Ahsan in the "Legacy" series. If you've read other books by Rukis, you probably know that she writes physical combat scenes as well as scenes of death and loss very well, and this book is no exception. The ending of this book hurt me to read, but the author does a great job of making it so that even when all seems to be lost, there is still hope/fight left. The book definitely left me wanting more for sure! My only criticism would be that the final plot sequence seemed a bit rushed (similar feeling to how the Off the Beaten Path series ended), and I was surprised that a character introduced so late in the story would have an outsized impact on its conclusion. I highly recommend the "Legacy" series!

Since I finally managed to finish the second part of the 'Legacy' series by Rukis I'm deeply struck by it's dark, dramatic but emotional atmosphere. It's one of a few books that brought me back to tears while reading through the last chapters. I've been fascinated and drawn into the Red Lantern universe from the very start as it pictures a world of stark social contrast, devided and ruled by wealth, poverty, war and conflict that leads to philosophical but personal introspection as well as spiritual or moral discussion. Fighting for freedom certainly has its price and can only be gained through sacrfices and faith all the same. It's a very depressive but thrilling story tale that leaves you with a spark of hope for the future. Most definitedly one of her best publications!

I'm sorry to be the first one to not give 5 stars for this book. Compared to Rukis' other works, this one didnt quite spark my level of interest in the main character. It always seemed like Kadar was lead by others during his journey, and that made him less...active, so to say?

The ending however, is what almost, almost made me give it more than 4 stars. Rukis has a way of ending stories that makes me go mad with emotions, in all of her books. The last chapter especially.... things picked up at an unpredictable pace, unforeseeable things... I dreamt about it all of last night, and I am sure I'll never forget that last chapter in Legacy: Dusk

Definitely recommended.

Well, the book was even better than its predecessor. Many cliffhangers and a very interesting array of immaculately depicted characters. The only con against this book is the ending which is both intriguing and somehow..mundane? Though the betrayal of Rajne turned out to be quite a good step to push the book to end, it was quite predictable, considering her appearance in Red Lantern. But still, it's been a great read, outpouring with emotions.

If I could rate this book more than five stars I would. I don't even know how to feel right now. I don't want the story of Kadar and Ahsan to be over. Even if everything ended perfectly in the epilogue.

I bawled my eyes out to the point where I couldn't read words but just see blurry lines. What a great, but awful way to finish.

Thank you for the free pack of tissues you gave me at MFF Rukis. They were heavily used.
