Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack a fab four-star read. This is the first book in the Falls series and also the authors debut novel, what a debut novel this author shows a great talent and I can’t wait to read more. The characters have a depth to them that makes you want to take them home with you for wine and gossip, well most of them at least one or two I wasn’t so keen on but they were written so well even though I hated them I still wanted more about them. This book does have some scenes of an adult nature and does deal with situations that are only suitable for adult readers.
Arianna Morgan is a woman who has left her past behind, she arrived on a greyhound bus and thought that she had landed in a place that looked like it belonged on a hallmark card, and into the arms of her best friend Penny who is there to help her deal with the shock of small town living, where people are nice to you on the street, something a city girl doesn’t know anything about.
River Bradshaw has lived in the small town of Carson Falls all his life, he has also faced a past that not many could overcome. River must stay strong for his little girl, she is the light in his life now and he would do anything for her. Including helping his daughter get the piano lessons she wants from a classically trained pianist, no matter how uncomfortable he is.
Will Arianna and River ever get their happy ever after? They have faced enough hardship in life that they deserve it, but that doesn’t mean it always happens.

Arianna escapes abuse from an ex by escaping to Carson Falls. She lives with her best friend, Penny, until she can get on her feet. River is raising his little girl, Cady, alone after the tragic death of her mother. Piano lessons for Cady bring these two souls together. Both Arianna and River have hard pasts to come to terms with and are trying to move forward to a better more hopeful future.

This story is a heart-wrenching tale of love and hope. Arianna has such a sad story and is in a bad place when she finds her way to Carson Falls. River is a single father facing the day to day struggle of life alone with his little girl. Together these two build such a strong bond and are able to help each other move forward. This story was a great read. It was raw and real. It had me in tears and it had me laughing. It was a book filled with emotions and I absolutely loved it. It was written well and I hope to read more from an author with such talent.

Just WOW!!

This book grabbed me from the first sentence and kept me entertained until the end of the book - I truly wanted it to continue on instead of ending. Be prepared I cried in the very beginning and several more times throughout the book.

Arianna is one tough lady to have to go through what she did to get to what I call the rest of her life was a journey that I'm not sure I would have survived or to say the least I'd been in jail for murder. Once she gets to Carson Falls and just simply falls in love with the entire town - from the first person she meets they all reach out to her - it's like they see though her to her pain and are all bound to make it better.

River and Cadence are the best father and daughter you could ever meet and they both feel that special feeling upon meeting Arianna or as they call her Birdy, and their journey starts from there.

Loved, loved, loved it.

Love in Carson Falls is the first book in The Falls Series by Paisleigh Aumack. I had not read anything by Ms. Aumack before and I wasn’t sure what to expect from her work. But when I saw the beautiful cover and read the blurb, I was intrigued and so I decided to give the book a chance to win me over. I am very pleasantly surprised by what I read as the story is really beautiful, quite emotional, and it completely captured my heart. I LOVED it, and now I can’t wait to explore more of Ms. Aumack’s work.

Arianna Morgan (Ari) has fled an abusive relationship and found herself on the other side of the country, in a small town called Carson Falls. She chose this place to regroup after her ordeal and hoped it was somewhere she could get a fresh start- the fact that her best friend Penny lives in the town was even better. Penny is a great friend who really wants to help Ari get back on her feet again. Driving into town for the first time was like entering a scene on a Hallmark card. Ari can’t believe how lovely the town is, or how friendly, caring and welcoming the town’s folk are. She immediately feels at home in Carson Falls and easily finds a job. Ari begins to settle into her new life and is excited about rediscovering life, on her own terms.
River Bradshaw is a fireman, who has a beautiful five year old daughter, Cadence (Cady). He never expected to be a single dad, but he loves his little girl and would do anything for her. What Cady wants more than anything is to learn how to play the piano and River wants to grant her wish, he just needs to find someone who can teach Cady to play. So when the gorgeous stranger, who recently moved to town, agrees to teach his little girl- he is a little apprehensive, but also can’t help feeling an intense attraction. Can he prove to Ari that not all men are monsters? Will Ari learn to trust again? Will this beautiful town and the close-knit community help Ari heal and find the happiness she so desperately deserves?
What a wonderful start to a new series! This story is really enthralling and was so well crafted by Ms. Aumack.
The characters were really well developed and endearing. Ms. Aumack captured their personalities, quirks and flaws brilliantly. She has a very creative way with her words which brought Carson Fall and all the characters to life.
I fell in love with these people and the town, and now I am really looking forward to the next book in The Falls series.

Thank you Ms. Aumack!

Just WOW!!!! I love when I get so involved in a book that I feel like I’m a part of the story, and this one did this from the very beginning to the very end.

Arianna has come to the small town of Carson Falls to be with her best friend to escape the horror and devastating loss she has just endured. Ari’s spirit and tenacity made me fall in love with her immediately. She’s a scared “bird” as River calls her in the beginning, but through her relationship with the locals and especially her BFF, Penny, River, and his daughter Cadence, she slowly comes back to life and gains her strength again. I loved seeing her recover the pieces of herself that were taken from her.

River is a single dad who has dealt with loss as well, but in a different sense than Ari. OMG, he was irresistible. He was sexy and had some alpha in him, but it was his relationship with his daughter that had my heart melting! Some of my favorite parts of the book were with him and Cadence. I also appreciated that he was so patient with Ari. He knew what buttons to push to rile her up, but he also was very loving and supportive of her as well!
This book was just about as perfect as you could get. It was very well-written. The characters were very complex, and I liked how I would learn something new about them with each chapter which was told from River and Ari’s POV. That connected me with them on a deeper level. I also liked the fact that the writer laid the groundwork for her next novel in the series which will be about Penny and Braxton. Now, there is a story there!

As I wrote earlier, I love when a writer makes me a part of the story. Aumack definitely did that! I loved the secondary characters and the town itself. My only regret was having to say good-bye, but I know I will be returning soon, so that makes me happy! Great, great book! I highly recommend reading Love in Carson Falls! I promise you will fall in love with the town and the characters as well!!!!

This is a new-to-me author and I must say that I am loving what I've read so far. This book really touched my heart. I think this author did a really great job at capturing the emotions and feelings associated with being and coming out of an abusive relationship. The emotions felt genuine and relatable.

Arianna definitely didn't have it easy and although everything she has suffered and endured she has this strength to her and she is caring, loving and a genuinely nice person. I loved her character and her growth throughout the story. Yes, she still had her moments because it will take time to heal from all she has been through but the author does a great job showing all those different sides to Ari.

And who doesn't love them an alpha man? I know I do. And River Bradshaw is exactly that and I couldn't imagine him any other way. I think his character was absolutely perfect and fitting. Oh and we can't forget that he's the single dad that will not only melt your heart but your panties as well. Yes, River Bradshaw is swoon-fucking-worthy and panty-dropping sexy AF!!!!

This was just an all around amazing story. Paisleigh Aumack delivers a magnificent story line that held me captivated from beginning to end. An amazing set of characters from the main characters to the secondary. I absolutely fell in love with River's little girl, Cady. What a character that little girl. The other characters definitely got me intrigued. The chemistry and passion between the characters were on point. This was such a beautifully written story and I can't wait to read more from this author and this series.

Second chance at life, rediscoving oneself and finding a true love when you thought it would never happen again. Reading a new author is invigorating. See something new from a new set of eyes.

The first few pages of Love In Carson Falls had me gutted. As a mother, your heart breaks with the how much loss and destruction Arianna encompassed. With determination she made the choice and broke the cycle. After getting up again, she escaped to her best friend's open arms. On the opposite side of the country for a new start and a new life, Ari needed to find herself and be stronger.

River lived in the same town for his whole life. His sole purpose was his daughter,
Cadence. With being a single dad, he was a protector and very selective who was around his daughter. With Frozen on repeat and continually begging for piano lessons, River was finally 'letting go' and granted Cade's wish. Arianna was a perfect teacher for his daughter. Not only did she fall in love with piano, Ari fell in love with Cadence and River.

But with ups theirs always downs. Someone wanted to take away her happiness. This is where things didn't add up for me. I understood why the person went after Ari. The man in question wanted River to suffer. But what happened to her Ex? He just totally dropped off the page.

Love In Carson Falls opens your eyes for second chance at love. When you think one door is closed, there is another that is open.

Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack is a story about starting over and finding yourself while also finding a love that was unexpected but true. Arianna came to Carson Falls to start over after losing herself to an abusive husband, she leaves to start over and stays with her college roommate. Arianna has no intention of becoming engulfed in another dominating male, especially one like River. But it seems with River's alpha personality she doesn't stand a chance.

River never expected the mother of his child to walk away, but she did in a most tragic of ways. Raising his daughter on his own, with the help of the small town community of Carson Falls, he has not taken interest in a woman for more than a night, nor has he allowed a woman to get close to his daughter. Arianna knocks both River and his beautifully daughter on their butts and what begins is a friendship that begins to turn into something so much more.

This story is filled with redemption, love, loss and the quirkiness of a small town that will have you enjoying each word! I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

****ARC was given for a Honest Review****

I have been waiting for this book and Paisleigh did not disappoint. From the beginning I was wrecked and had so many feelings . Paisleigh did a wonderful job writing this beautiful story and I fell in love with River and Arianna. But who capture my heart was Cady , and how her and Ari build a wonderful relationship.

River was a wonderful father but there were times I gotten mad at his reaction to Arianna. But overall River showed Ari that she was worth love by letting his daughter and him heal her.
"Because I found the Moon and Sun in you eyes. I don't have to chase after them any more-River"(swoon)

For being Paisleigh debut book, she did a incredible job and I take my hat off to her. Read this book in one sitting and what a great story. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series (especially if it is Penny and Braxton story, because I know it will be another emotional story that I will love). I recommend this story and you will not be disappointed .

What a great book. That was a very emotional read, I can't tell you how many times my heart hurt and eyes leaked. The whole town was endearing and made me want to live a small town life. The writing was on point and the story flowed at a lovely speed; the supporting characters are all easy to love or hate!

Ariana has been through hell, she escaped to Carson Falls to stay with her best friend, Penelope. She is picking her life up after recent events and this beautiful town is just the place to heal. River is a hot fireman and single Dad to Cadence, a beautiful five year old girl. It's not hard to fall in love with these people, I certainly have!

The things that happen in this story had my emotions all over the place; laughing one minute, crying the next, happy tears as well as sad. Just what I need to keep me reading, drama and an alpha man who is hell bent on protecting the woman.

I'd definitely recommend reading this and I'm excited to read about Penelope and Braxton next, those two need a serious talking too in my opinion

I voluntarily accepted a review copy of this book and this is my review.

*Spoiler FREE*

I went into this story from a brand new author to me a little blind and had at it. Oh my goodness it was good. A slow burn new start romance that blossomed quite beautifully. Ari the woman starting over new, and River the single dad with one of the sweetest little girls Ive ever read about. I loved the way the characters interacted, the build up of trust and the relationship between Ari and River and little Cady was absolutely heart melting.

There was a bit of drama and mystery that unfolded that kept me on my toes and trying to figure it all out which Im pleased to say I failed miserably at. Well done!

This story had me smiling, laughing, crying with and loving the characters. It was wonderfully written and a promising start to the series. Definitely going to be keeping an eye out in the kindle store for Paisleigh Aumack so I can read more!

First I have to say wow.
I don't remember when the last time was a new to me author's first book completely blew my mind and made me an instant fan but Love in Carson Falls did just that.
The blurb intrigued me but it's a similar story line I've read before so I honestly underestimated this book going in.
Paisleigh Aumack wove a tale the kept me glued to the pages from the beginning to end, Arianna & River's story was so freaking amazing. Both finding something in each other the helps ease their own pain and heal their hearts, I don't think the author could have written two more perfectly broken people.
And the secondary characters, I loved them so much, I'm not sure which one I'm most looking forward to reading.
Love in Carson Falls is well written, is well paced and keeps you on your toes trying to figure out who the villain is.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book, I was sucked in from the start and spat out at the end. I devoured it in one sitting, keep some time to one side as once you start you won't want to stop. Arianna has just left her abusive boyfriend and arrived at Carson falls battered and broken, to stay with her best friend. She finds a job quickly and settles into her new life. River is a single dad with the most adorable little girl, he's avoided relationships but is captivated by Arianna. I found River to be totally swoon worthy, he's great with his daughter, he doesn't push Arianna he goes at her pace. I loved his inner thoughts but sometimes what came out of his mouth made me cringe. I loved the background characters and can't wait for there books. I loved the ending and can't wait to read more about this couple in the next books.

A great debut novel from this author.
Ariana - running from an extremely abusive husband after a severe beating caused her to lose her unborn child, settles in Carson Falls taking refuge with the best friend, the sassy Penelope.
River - a firefighter and single dad, bringing up his daughter alone after his wife and mother of his child walked out shortly after the baby's arrival.
Neither were exactly looking for love but the well meaning meddling of a small town pushed tyhem together.
This was a lovely story of friendships, love and learning to trust again. I loved this book. Everyone deserves a River and a happy ever after in Carson Falls.
I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This was a sweet romance! I really liked both Arianna and River (and his River Shivers), but completely fell for River's daughter, Cady! There was a good amount of angst, just enough to make the characters three-dimensional, and the side characters certainly added to the plot. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Love in Carson Falls, and can't wait for Braxton and Penny's story next!

What a refreshing read by a brand new author. Paisleigh's sweet story of love, loss, and love again is as heartwarming as one would imagine from the title. Her characters are well-developed and loveable and as they tell their stories, you feel as though you're sitting at a table with them as they narrate to you. Paisleigh's level of detail is amazing -- she doesn't miss a thing. I look forward to so much more from this talented lady.

Love in Carson Falls (The Falls – Book #1) is a romance novel by Paisleigh Aumack that I really enjoyed. The book is about a woman named Arianna Morgan who had lived in Seattle with a very rich man named Andrew Kelly for 7 years. Arianna used to be a concert pianist for the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, and Andrew was her first serious relationship after college. Andrew was the founder and CEO of Kelly Financial, and besides having a lot of money, he had respect of the community, good looks, and power that he exerted over anyone and everyone, including Arianna. Once Andrew became a part of Arianna's life, music had no place in it anymore, and little by little she lost all sense of who she once was. Arianna was 5 months pregnant with Andrew's child, when one night he came home drunk and started “raising hell”. Andrew never wanted children. He was jealous of the attention that a child would get from Arianna. Andrew started yelling at Arianna, threw her through a glass coffee table, hit her in the face with his fist, dragged her upstairs by her hair, and then kicked her with his steel-toed boots. After he realized what he had done, he ran, and left Arianna and her baby to die. Somehow Arianna crawled, using her arms, to the phone and called 911 for an ambulance before she passed out due to blood loss. Arianna was very depressed after she found out that she had miscarried her son; she had always wanted to be a mother. The doctor assured her that she would be able to conceive in the future; Andrew hadn't taken that away from her. The police assured Arianna that Andrew would be arrested and brought to justice, but they told her that she should relocate to some place safe. She knew that she couldn't stay in Seattle and that her entire life would now change. Seven days later, Arianna was on a bus on her way to what she hoped would be her safe place.

Arianna was on her way to her best friend, Penelope Sloane's hometown, Carson Falls, Tennessee, to start her life over, and to hopefully, be in a place where Andrew Kelly couldn't find her. Arianna and Penny had been best friends since they both attended The Juilliard School in New York City. Penny had wanted to be an actress back then, but changed her mind and became an elementary school teacher, and taught Kindergarten at the local school. Penny invited Arianna to share her apartment with her until she was able to get on her feet. Soon Arianna got a job at the local thrift shop and made her first friend in town, the shop's owner, Miss Thelma. Also, Arianna quite literally runs into Carson Falls' Fire Chief, River Bradshaw, (who was with his 5 year old daughter, Cady, at the time), when Arianna is walking to the town square to eat her lunch. Arianna was walking with her head down so that people wouldn't see her scrapes and bruises, and did not see River. Arianna does not take running into a man well, and begins to shake and have a panic attack when she runs into River.

River Bradshaw has lived in Carson Falls his entire life. He is raising his daughter, Cady by himself. Cady's mom, River's ex-wife, Emma, left Cady and River when Cady was just a newborn because she never really wanted to be a wife and mother. Emma sent River divorce papers and legal paperwork giving up her parental rights shortly after leaving. Emma became a drug addict, and died after being beaten to death at the hands of her drug addicted, abusive boyfriend. River would do just about anything to make Cady happy, and Cady has always wanted to take piano lessons. Penny, who is Cady's Kindergarten teacher, and who grew up with River, tells River that she knows someone who can give Cady piano lessons, and it just happens to be Arianna.

The day of Cady's first piano lesson, River comes to Miss Thelma's thrift shop to talk to Arianna. “Did you call me Bird?”, asked Arianna. “I did. We met the other day. I'm River. Cady is my daughter. She's the one who's getting the lessons from you,” River states in case she'd forgotten them. “I remember. But my name is Arianna. Why did you call me Bird?” River thinks that she seems full of attitude and not at all like the scared little bird from the park that he'd bumped into. River says to Arianna, “The day we met you were shaking scared, like a bird does when it's hurt and a human has to hold it and patch it up.”

This book follows Arianna's new life in Carson Falls, her new relationship with River and his daughter, Cady. It also follows her relationship with her best friend, Penny, her new friend and boss, Miss Thelma, and lots of other new friends and acquaintances. The book explores the scars that a domestic abuse survivor carries with them concerning their self-worth after years of verbal, emotional, and physical abuse. It discusses the important issue concerning a domestic abuse survivor's ability to feel that they are worthy of a healthy relationship, or their feelings that they will only poison a potential future partner's life. Much emotional healing is necessary before the survivor is able to move on, and it has to be at their own pace, it cannot be rushed.

I really enjoyed the author, Paisleigh Aumack's writing style because she is very good at writing about a very serious subject, domestic abuse, and making it very real by placing it in a romance novel. The author allows the reader to see the survivor not as a victim, but as a person working on being healed and growing from her domestic abuse experiences. She also has loving sexy moments in this book, too. I definitely would recommend this book to all romance lovers, and I'm excited to read the next book in the series.

Arianna never thought life could or would beat her down, but she also never imagined the person to beat her down would be the man that she thought was her forever, the man she loved. Now to keep herself from anymore danger she must start her life over in a new town, where she knows only one person. Arriving in Carson Falls, she never realised that she could actually let her life begin until the locals and one in particular that showed her that there were many things that can mend you spirit and help you cope with your pain.

River never thought that the mother his child would walk away and leave them both, he also never expected to hear that she would end up dead. Living in the small town of Carson Falls his whole life he always thought he knew what life’s meaning was, that was until a Beautiful and captivating stranger started teaching his daughter piano. That’s when he realised life had much more left in store for him, and he also had to show the stranger how he could help show her the things that she had lost faith in.

Love in Carson Falls book 1 in the Falls Series, from author Paisleigh Aumack. This is my first book from this author, and defiantly won’t be my last. I cannot wait to see what other great stories this author gives us, and what else she will bring to this series.

This was an incredible book, and a brilliant start to a series that I know will continue to get better and better. I was well hooked from the first page until the very last. I was captivated, entranced and well and truly blown away.
This book had various themes throughout it from love, romance, passion, friendship & suspense. This book also had a great deal of emotions from the characters that as the reader I could truly feel, such as, love, passion and heartache, happiness, sadness and fear I’ve laughed, smiled, cried, been on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next. This book had some great scenes between the two main characters and I loved reading their interactions with each other. You could tell that what these two characters had is real, Arianna might have taken a bit longer to truly believe River was what she wanted and needed but that was done to the pain she has recently gone through but with that being said they have an undeniable connection that was passionate, real and exactly what both of these characters needed at that point in their lives. But this was the only undeniable connection that these characters had, it was also the beautiful connection Arianna had with River’s daughter Cady. These two bonded through music, and the connection of being best friends and the role model figure Cady needed of a mother.
The River & Cady where a big part of Arianna finally being able to heal herself, find herself, find her passion and learn to love again.

This book was made even more brilliant by the secondary characters that were in this story. They were great to read snippets about in this book, but I hope we get the chance to read their stories in full.

Another great thing with this book is that it was written in dual POV’s. I love reading it from the characters POV’s as we get to really see their thoughts and feeling from them rather than the other person. I also think it helps connect with a character as you get to understand some of their reasons of their actions!

From the first moment you meet Arianna, she holds your heart from then on through this book. With such a traumatic heart-breaking thing to happen, I’m so glad we get to see the journey she takes at finding safety, finding herself and learning what real love is all about. Through this book you see Arianna, fight her pain, heartache but you can also see her slowly getting stronger and stronger with the help of people around her and of course River. After everything Arianna faces she still continues to find herself again, you see her come into herself, she is beautiful, talented, loving, kind, and generous. She sticks up for her friends when they need help, and helps guide Cady. I love watching her come into herself and finally be happy.

River is a guy every woman dreams about. He is handsome, caring, supportive, a fireman and is an incredible single dad. I loved everything he does for Arianna through this book, he supports her, cares for her, protects her and loves her. He doesn’t force her into things but guides her, and shows her a woman is meant to be treated but the love of her life. He is careful, considerate when it comes to making the journey with her. I loved that he showed emotion numerous time through this book and he immediately knew from meeting Arianna that she would be his girl, and he done everything to make that happen.

I’m so glad that River, Cady & Arianna get their HEA, and can’t wait to see what how their journey continues.

This is a great story of love, second chances, family and new starts and finding yourself. I hope Arianna & River’s story continues in Book 2 but until then This isn’t one to miss and I can’t wait to read Book 2 Reckless.

Love in Carson Falls (The Falls Series Book 1) by Paisleigh Aumack is her first book in The Falls series. This story is about healing, friendship and starting over. This story has a little bit of everything in it from laughter to compassion and of course the romance. This is my first story by this author and I enjoy her writing style and her attention to detail. I also enjoy her creativity with the characters. She created characters that are true to life and will pull you into their world. They will take you on an emotional ride that you will want to ride. They will keep you engaged throughout the story and keep the story flowing. Find out what happens to these characters as they go through healing and learning to start over.

Arianna Morgan is no stranger to hurt and never thought her life would beat her down. She never imagined the man that she loved so much would be the cause of the hurt. The only option that she felt she had was to start over in a new town far away. What will happen when she realizes that one community can give her hope that her spirit can be mended.

River Bradshaw has been a single father for all of his daughters life. He never thought that his wife would leave him. Nor did he ever think she would end up dead. He thought he know what his life's meaning was after being raised in this small town. Then he meets her. She teaches his daughter to play piano but will she teach more to him? Will he figure out the meaning of his life?

Arianna and River's relationship is one that was built on friendship but the attraction was there from the start. He always thought that there was more to her then she was saying, will she finally tell him? They both have a past that is not pleasant and need to heal from. Will they be able to heal each other? This two are great together and you will just fall in love with them. She is so broken when she moves to town and it is so great to see how the community just steps up to take her in. She just grows to be herself throughout the story. He, I think is mostly just sad that his marriage turned out the way it did. He is a alpha male in this story but he also has that kind, sweet heart that he shows with her. Then you add the secondary characters into this mix and it just sweetened it up more. I just loved the older woman in this story as she really just reached out to something that was broken and tried to fix it. She always seemed to know what Arianna needed. There are some twists and turns in this story as you will soon see that will leave you wanting to turn the pages faster just to see how it will end. Find out what happens with Arianna and River's relationship as they face life struggles on top of the hurt they are trying to heal from.

This is my first story by Paisleigh Aumack and I know it won't be the last. I can't wait to see what she will come out with next in this series. There really are just some great characters in this story that I would love to see what happens too. Paisleigh is engaged to the love of her life and lives a quiet life. She was born and raised in small barrier island town in which she still lives. When she isn't writing you can find her reading or listening to music. This is a fast paced story that will keep you reading until the end. You will need to see what happens to these two. I read this book in one sitting as I had a hard time putting it down in certain parts. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see if Arianna and River find their HEA and if they heal each other from their pasts.

Love in Carson Falls is book 1 of The Falls series by Paisleigh Aumack and can be read as a standalone.

After the worst night of her life, Arianna Morgan has left everything behind and hopes to rebuild her life in Carson Falls with the help of her best friend, Penny. She’s surprised with how welcoming and friendly the residents of Carson Falls are but it's just what she needs as she tries to find a way to heal and move on with her life. When she meets River, she's surprised by her reaction to him and as she gets to know him better, she realises it could be possible for her to trust another man and maybe have the future that was so cruelly taken away from her.

“I walked out of Thelma’s Treasures and Trinkets feeling like I knew what lay ahead for the first time in years. No longer was I worried about any decisions I had made, people I had spoken to, or most importantly, playing music again. Carson Falls was definitely not what I had expected, but it might have been exactly what I needed.” - Arianna

River Bradshaw thought he had it all until he was left raising his daughter, Cady, alone. Caring for Cady and working at the local fire station keeps him busy but he's content and accepts that this is his life. When he sees how much Cady wants to learn to play the piano, he asks her teacher and his friend, Penny, for help. She recommends Arianna who ignites the feeling of protectiveness in River from the moment he sees her and makes him question if he could possibly have more from life.

“My heart picked up its pace again, my chest tightened, and my mind raced at the thought of seeing her again. It had only been two days, but I was becoming more and more addicted to just the sight of her. Her smell, her talent, and her kind nature were all icing on my sweet fantasy cake.” - River

This is the first book I've read by Paisleigh Aumack and I loved the whole idea of being able to find love again after being crushed and feeling like you won't ever have the things you’ve dreamed of. It's also about dealing with loss and healing again. This book starts with a real impact that had me feeling sick but wanting to continue reading as we see Arianna go through something so terrible and life changing. Having personally experienced a small bit of what happened to Arianna, I found the prologue emotional to read and feel that I need to make readers aware that some of you may find it to be a trigger.

My only complaint about this book is that things seemed to move rather quickly. I struggled with how Arianna was able to move on so soon and that the people around her encouraged her to rather than advising her to take the time she needed. This story had the chance to be more and allow readers to see the real impact of what Arianna had gone through and how it takes longer than just a few days to start healing and rebuilding your life. I could also see that the author wanted to show how protective River could be but I feel he went over the top with his reaction in chapter 4. However, none of this ruined the story as I was able to see what message Paisleigh Aumack wanted to convey and I have a lot of admiration for authors who don't shy away from sensitive topics.

Some of the secondary characters will also remain with me and I can't wait to see if Penny and Braxton get their own book because there's definitely a story there. I would recommend Love in Carson Falls but due to several scenes, it's better suited for readers 18+.

He saw the sun and the moon in her eyes, so he stopped chasing after them.

Wow, it is hard to believe that this is Paisleigh Aumack’s first book, and, it is full of beautiful words like those!

Everything is there from the great writing style and flow, enough of a description to show what’s going on without being too onerous, and the incredible interactions between the characters that was so easy to become invested in.

The Prologue dumps us straight into the deep end where we meet Arianna Morgan suffering the worst of beatings from her partner of seven years. Her only crime was pregnancy. Barely surviving with only her life, the police are hunting down her wealthy and highly respected ex-partner, while she moves to Carson Falls, a small town, to stay with Penelope Sloane, the only person who has ever been her true friend.

Also living in Carson Falls, and good friends with Penelope, is River Bradshaw, the local fire brigade Battalion Chief, and his daughter, Cadence. This Daddy/Daughter combination are beautiful, and it is hard to believe that any wife or mother would dump and run, to live a life of physical and substance abuse, ultimately losing her life. Despite the efforts of Penelope and others, River is in no way interested in another relationship – he’s concentrating on his daughter.

I really enjoyed the headings of each chapter that essentially introduced the heart of the subject matter, whether it be meeting River and his ‘Frozen’ movie-mad daughter Cadence in Chapter two: Frozen, or my personal favourite, Chapter Nine: Reckless, where River says to Arianna in the club, “Bird, you have to know, what’s about to happen, will turn you on. I dance like I make love.” “And how is that?” My words were out before I even knew why or what I asked. “Reckless.” A smirk graced his face.”

The chemistry between River and Ari is always present and intense, yet he never pushes her, as seeing her occasional panic attacks have devastated him. River says he’s not perfect, but yeah, he really is, both as a prospective friend and lover, and, as a single father to the vivacious Cady. Unfortunately for Ari, darkness seems to follow her, causing her to question her worth to those in her new life.

There is so much to love about this story, and I could post quotes forever. But what I will say, is that your time and money are well spent with River, Cadence and Ari. The secondary characters really add to the story, and in getting to know Penelope, we see her ‘complicated’ interactions with Braxton, a long time friend of River and owner of the local club, Reckless. While he’s busy spreading his favours around, he’s also busy minding Penelope’s business. I need that next book, like now, to find out what the hell is going on. I really recommend this book to all who enjoy a hot single father, firefighter, contemporary romance with the requisite HEA.

Paisleigh, you started writing cos you had a story to tell. I listened because you did write it, and I loved it. Seriously, 5 Stars.

Love in Carson Falls (The Falls #1)
By: Paisleigh Aumack
5 out of 5 stars

The story Love in Carson Falls (The Falls #1) by Paisleigh Aumack is a contemporary romance book. This is a beautiful story of two people who find each other and just maybe the reason they can move on from their past. This is the story of Arianna Morgan and River Bradshaw. Arianna never thought that she would find herself in the situation she is in. She finds herself beat down by life and needing to find a new place for herself. She finds her way to Carson Falls. River Bradshaw grew up in Carson Falls and thought that he had it all. Until life showed him how unpredictable it can be.. Now his days are filled with his job and taking care of his daughter. Then a stranger shows up in town and his world begins to change. What is in store for these two?

I quickly fell in love with this book and the characters of Arianna and River. The story is one that does start out heartbreaking and then goes on to show how a healing process begins. I have so much empathy for Arianna and the situation that she found herself in. With help, she has relocated to Carson Falls and quickly finds that the town is nothing like she is used to. The people are friendly and truly want to help each other. A couple of them immediately befriend Arianna. I have lived in both a large city and a small town and if truth be told I would take the small town over the large city any day. Arianna is also someone that wants to make her own way in life. Then she meets River. While their first meeting is a bit uncomfortable, they both find themselves seeing more of each other when Arianna agrees to teach piano to River’s daughter. She hasn’t felt this way about a man in a long time, will Arianna take a chance and see where a relationship with River could lead or will her past be too much of a hurdle to overcome?

River has grown up in Carson Falls and has made a life for himself there along with his daughter. While he goes about his normal routine the past is always there. Then he meets Arianna. She is new in town and she has a definite effect on him when they first meet. His thoughts are only of her and he starts to try to win her heart. What he finds is a woman what is haunted by the past and he does his best to assure her that he is someone she can trust. He is protective of her and sees it as his responsibility to make sure she feels safe. Will he be successful in winning over Arianna’s heart?

This is an awesome book about love, loss, and hope. It is the first book that I have read by the author and as this is book one in the series I know it will not be the last. She has written a story that will touch your heart and I found myself thinking about it long after I had finished. Find out if Arianna and River get their HEA! This book does include some scenes of violence, a sensitive subject matter, and adult situations. It would be for those 18 years of age or older.

Love in Carson Falls
First book from new author Paisley Aumack and she instantly became a new favourite of mine this book had so many amazing moments ,it brought out so many crazy emotions I have laughed and cried my way through most of this story and it left me wanting more I could have happily sat and read about the fantastic characters all day!

Arianna has been living in hell for years but when she finally grasps her freedom she decides a fresh start is what's needed and calls her old college friend Penny who is only too happy to let her crash with her till she recovers properly and finds her feet. Arianna quickly learns that the towns people of Carson Falls are as amazing as the little town itself, and makes lots of new friends immediately that gives her some hope for her future. When Penny talks her into giving out piano lessons to the cutest little girl in town Cady she realises her friend might have had a different reasons for helping her when she meets Cadys very sexy dad River.

River has been born and raised in Carson Falls he only had one love in his life and that's his 5 year old daughter Cady whom he has raised alone since her mother walked out in them when she was a baby.Cadys love in life is Frozen and piano and when she isn't belting out a frozen song she busy trying to talk her dad into getting her piano lessons. When her dad gives in and sorts lessons with Arianna they all learn more than just piano. They learn that you always get a second chance at love even when you feel you dont deserve it. They learn families aren't always made conventionally but made up of love all the same and Arianna learns about trust in her self and in others around her she now knows the true value of herself and vows never to let that part of her to be taken away again. Arianna is such a fierce character and the determination she shows to get her life together even after all the heartbreak and loss she has experienced is inspiring she was instantly loveable I just couldn't help but want her to find her happiness and love again! River is amazing the patience and love he has for Cady and then Arianna shines through in every action and although he has suffered heartbreak as well he has not let him hold back in life
This book became my addiction from start to finish it was full of love and friendship and new beginnings although as with any love story there is always someone who wants to ruin that for others so there is always some drama thrown in but it only added to the story and helped you love the main characters more. I didn't want to put it down and I'm now left in a book funk, well at least until Book 2 is released!

I love a story that grabs you from the very beginning and holds onto you throughout the entire book! Love in Carson Falls is a beautiful debut novel by Paisleigh Aumack and has you feeling a range of emotions from the Prologue all the way to the Epilogue. It's a story of heartbreack, friendship, renewa, hope and love. Paisleigh introduces us to Arianna in a heartbreaking scene but we also see from the very beginning the strength that she has by getting away from the one man that was supposed to love and protect her. She turns to her friend Penny who takes her in with open arms and an open heart and helps Ari begin the healing process along with Miss Thelma, who gives Ari a job in her store after Ari sees a piano in the front window. And then there is River!! River too was dealt a hand of heartbreak but he has his beautiful and sassy daughter Cady to raise so he doesn't dwell on the hand he was given. The interactions between Cady and River are priceless and I just loved that little girl from the very beginning. Ari knows it's the music that will heal her soul and it's a beautiful scene when she sits down and her fingers touch the keys for the first time in years. Ari catches River's eye and that's when the fun begins!! There is definitely an instant attraction for River even though he sees her wounded and broken spirit he allows his daughter to be taught to play the piano by Ari. Little by little River and Cady begin to break the walls down that Ari has built around herself for protection. River shows her that she is worthy of love and deserves to be happy. But as the story progresses we find that someone is out to hurt Ari or is it River, they are out to hurt? As I said, this book has all of the feels and Paisleigh does of great job of making you feel them deeply. I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with all of the characters in the story, even the secondary characters like Penny, Cady, Miss Thelma and Braxton who is River's best friend but also has a history with Penny which I'm sure we'll be reading their story. Later in the story we meet Jury and Rhett who bring an interesting twist to things so I'm hoping there will be more from them. Lots of intrigue and mystery along with wonderful passion took me to places I love to go when reading. Have your kleenex ready and your seat belt buckled for a great ride when you read LICF. The story moves at a great pace and keeps you turning the pages to see where River and Ari will take you next. I look forward to more from this wonderful author and I think you will too.

Love in Carson Falls- Paisleigh Aumack

4 Stars Review

Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack is book 1 in The Falls series and is a triumphant story about overcoming obstacles and opening yourself to love again. It’s told in both the main characters POV, which really adds to the story giving us a better insight into who they are. The small town is so beautifully described that I wanted to go there for a visit. The supporting characters really play an important role in this book and I found that they added the right amount of drama.

Arianna thought that she was with the man of her dreams and he was for a while but as time past so did he. Andrew was always jealous when it came to Arianna, he always wanted her full attention, he was controlling and he would resort to punishing her if things didn’t go his way. Arianna always made excuses for him hoping that one day he would change, but one day he took it too far and she realized that she needed to get away from him. She needed to be as far away as possible and she knew just who to call, her best friend Penny. Penny welcomed her with open arms to her hometown in Carson Falls. Arianna loved it there, she finally felt at home. Slowly but surely she picked up the broken pieces of herself that Andrew had shattered and she learned to be herself again. As time goes on she meets River, a single dad with an open heart and protective nature. She learns to love again but will her past continue to bring her down? River is determined to teach her how a real man would treat a lady but as risky situations continue to rise will he change his mind about her for his daughter’s safety?

Love in Carson Falls is a great book and definitely a good start to a series. I really enjoyed the supporting characters and all that they added to the story; I look forward to reading more about them in this series. I had a love/hate relationship with River, sometimes I liked how bossy and manly he could be while other times I found him to be a bit insensitive to Arianna’s past and her feelings. But in the end he grew on me. Now Cady just might be my favorite character, she was such a sweet girl and she added so much love to the story. Arianna is everything I would imagine someone in her shoes would be like, she’s guarded and reserved yet she still somehow had hope for the future and I loved how she behaved with River, with just the right amount of sass. I hope that we are able to read more about Arianna and River and their future together in book 2, which follows Penny and Braxton!

Love in Carson Falls written by Paisleigh Aumack
4 stars

This was my first Paisleigh read and I'm looking forward to Penny and Jury’s stories in future Falls Series books. Hopefully they drop their drama and blinders and see the men they have in front of them for who they truly are. I can't wait to see how Paisleigh brings all these loose ends together.

If you love an alpha male, single dad that adores his little girl, new beginnings, stubborn woman fighting the charm of a sexy man and making him work for their attention you will love Carson Falls and what it has instore for you. This story has twist and turns throughout. I was pleasantly surprised it was not as predictable as I had thought it was going to be. It has humor, joy, friendship, tears, loss, love, heartache, second chances, difficult subjects and some suspense. This book will grab you right from the start and have you falling in love with the locals in Carson Falls.

Arianna aka Bird has experienced some horrific experiences by the hands of someone who should have protected and cherished her. She finally finds the strength to stand up for herself, not always fear the past and is working at not walking on eggshells around others. Her best friend Penny has some plans for Arianna to help her realize she is a treasure and is worth fighting to start over and let others in again.

Playing piano always spoke to Arianna’s heart. Her best friend Penny was a school teacher and knew of a student who was wanting lessons. Little did Arianna know this brave, wise beyond her years five year old would start to help her heal her broken heart.

River aka River Shiver (he will give you some as well) is a protective father, bossy, southern gentleman, fire chief and someone who gets what he sets his sights on. River has been dealing with the ghost of why his daughter doesn't have her mother in his life anymore. He wonders what he could have done differently, what signs he missed. As much as he loves his daughter and would hang the moon for her he knows he needs a woman in her life for the “girly stuff”.

“She would always get what she wanted, within reason. But right then, she wanted to soar, and I was happy to be the one to make her fly.”

Love in Carson Falls( The Falls Series, Book 1 )
By Paisleigh Aumack
5/5 Stars

Love is Carson Falls is the first book in The Falls Series by Paisleigh Aumack. It's a beautiful love story about two souls, who don't look for love… but love finds them in the most unexpected way!
I haven't read anything by Paisleigh before. But now that I have, I'm a huge new fan!! I can't wait to read the second book in The Falls Series. The way the book is written , she writes in such a beautiful way. You feel a deep and emotional connection to the characters. You feel every ounce of emotion they do. Whether, it's happiness, pain, anguish, sadness or contentment… you will feel it! I'm not ashamed to admit this, but yes, I did cry during this book. I couldn't help it… but again, it doesn't take me much to cry! I'm an emotional reader!!
Arianna Morgan is deeply hurt and broken. She never thought the one person, she loves with all her heart, would be the one to cause her so much pain and anguish. Putting everything behind her, she decides the only thing she must do, is start over in a new town. Carson Falls, is a breath of fresh air. She realizes once she is there, that the town and locals can finally mend her broken spirit. And start the recovery to mend her broken heart.
River Bradshaw is a single parent, raising his bright and rambunctious daughter. He never thought in a millions years, that the mother of his daughter could so easily walk away from them. And not to mention, get herself in such a predicament, she would wind up dead at such a young age.
He feels such an instant connection to Arianna. He is determined to get to know her better. What's a better chance than to hire her, to teach his daughter how to play the piano.
Sometimes, life puts people in your life for a reason.. It's your purpose to figure out why!! This is an amazing story about loss, love and how music can teach us about ourselves!!
You must read this story about Arianna and River, you have to see what's beautiful journey they embark on. It will be a book, you can't put down!! Phenomenal job, Paisleigh! I'll patiently be waiting to read the second book in the series!!
