Love Dresden is a narcissist and a sociopath. She gets what she wants, no matter what - including the heart and affection of any man she wants. And when a kind cop takes an interest in her after he responds to a domestic violence call she’s involved in, she latches onto his kindness and decides to never let him go. She’ll go to any lengths to have him, to make him love her. Lying. Stalking. Murder. She’s desperate, and her love knows no bounds.
This is the second of RS Medina's books I've consumed and it is no less impressive than the last. While part of a trilogy, this story is totally disconnected from the first one in location and characters. The character of Love Dresden is terrifyingly real and the situation is all too plausible. Micah, the other main character, is very well drawn, appropriately flawed, but ultimately decent at his core. Both are expertly developed and the story is totally unpredictable. I lost count how many times my jaw fell open or I blurted out "WTF???" I had a great time with this book. It's not really romance, though that element is there. This is a story about a sick, SICK psyche, manipulation, bad choices, and worse outcomes. I'm eager for more of Medina's work!
Love You Desperately by R. S. Medina was seriously fun for the twisted and dark reader that I am.
This is the first book I have read by Medina and I will be most interested in her next book. I have to admit that in the first third of the book, I really disliked LOVE. She was annoying and self centered and I just could not stand it but what was really strange is how much I liked Micah. Micah is why I stayed invested.
For me, I always seem to need to connect with the female lead in some way, at least I want to and I love duel point of view stories but in Love You Desperately, I was hoping and cheering for Micah. And by the end of the story, I understood why I really did not like Love and was so happy for Micah.
The story is original and got major kudos for that. The writing is a little choppy and a little telling but I think that is just because of the newness of the author and finding her voice. Really good! and worth picking up
Going into an R.S. Medina book, the only thing you can expect is the unexpected. That’s exactly what I got from Love You Desperately. The MC, Love Dresden, is a woman who knows exactly which strings to pull to get what she wants. Scorned woman turned heartsick lover, she manipulates and spins the truth, and I could never tell what she would do next.
My heart went out to Micah, the male MC, although for a cop he certainly was naive. I enjoyed his storyline and would’ve loved to explore his past if it wasn’t unnecessary for this particular story.
All in all, LMD was a gritty, fast read. If you’re a fan of a villain and not one to demand an HEA, this one is up your alley.
R.S. Medina really knows what she’s doing! This book is 1000 forms of crazy! From the first word to the last she keeps you guessing. I never knew what to expect on the next page. This is in my top 5 books of all time! Love it!! I will recommend it over and over again! Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
*This is spoilery * Love is a sociopath narcissistic who’s out to get anyone that doesn’t love her. ( ironic much?) anyway she refuses to let Stephen or Micah win. So she takes matters into her own hands. I will admit about 60% of the book was okay. It was missing more depth. The 40% was good but that’s about it. I would of liked to know more on how she got the way she is, her record ( it’s explained a little ) and if there were others. I did love that she was a strong woman but she was very co dependent. Again the ending could of been better. I would of liked to see how Micah was doing. The ending on loves part made me laugh. Girl will never change even with help.
This book y’all! What a freaking crazy wild ride! When you have a main character that is a narcissist and a sociopath, you know you have to read it!! When I started this book, I literally couldn’t put it down! I read it quickly and devoured all the words. I have never read such a suspenseful book! The ride will blow your mind! Love is a character that may be a bit “off her rocker” but in ways, you relate to her and even find yourself rooting for her even in her desperate ways. Crazy brilliant read!
This book had me hooked from the beginning! This was not a typical romance book because it dealt with darker themes. Love is sociopath and narcissist that will stop at nothing to get what she wants. When she meets Micah after he is called for a disturbance at her home, she sets her sights on him and will not let him go.
This book will suck you in because you want to know what will happen with Love and Micah. I really enjoyed this book and the one R.S. wrote previously.
While I love this story line, it has so much potential but fell just a bit flat for me. It is well written and the main characters are pretty relatable as far as you could see real traits in them. For me the author just scratched the surface of what this could have been. I am not sure how to even describe what would make it better for me. Still a good read though.
Just wow!!! A narcissist and sociopath....what could go wrong??!! This book sucked me in from the moment I started. I could not put it down because I needed to see what would happen next. What a wild ride.
This book grabbed me from the first chapter. The story was unique and full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. The author writes crazy so well it’s scary. I hope to see more of Love in the future...
Absolutely dangerous, sexy, & surprising moves from two main characters! I stayed up all night... totally mesmerizing plot. I could not possibly ever imagine the twists that appeared constantly throughout, "Love You Desperately." All I can think about now is... Medina's next book!
I have never read a character like Love and that is what made me choose five stars. Love is terrifying, relatable and sometimes completely nuts and I'm here for it! Finally a female antagonist as a protagonist! Bravo!
I was intrigued from the start. I read this book quickly and I am honestly sad that I finished reading it so fast. It is so damn good, by far one of my faborite reads ever! I love R.S. Medina's Love Me More and I LOVE Love You Desperately. I love dark and twisted shit. I hated Love's character at first - but the more I continued to read the more I loved her character. Love is a fucked up psycho and I was intrigued as hell. I love the strong female roles. I love Michah's character. I look forward to reading more by R.S. Medina. Keep writing these badass novels.
