This is an amazing book that will change your life if you let it. Attitude is everything. We all have trials that come our way, but the trick to having lasting joy is in how we react to those trials. Wisehart encourages to choose joy every day, not just when things are going our way. We can learn from every experience we face--good or bad.

Highly recommended!

Choose: An Invitation to the Best Day Ever provided me with the guidance I needed to re-focus my life on what matters most...the power of choice. I read this book during a time in my life when all the pieces were crumbling around me. I was hurt, angry, and didn't know how to move forward. However, Carrie's book allowed me to take a journey of healing, forgiveness, and growth one step/day at a time. It reminded me that I am provided with the gift of choice. I am in control of how I choose to react to what is occurring in my life and I can do it with God by my side. Carrie's use of personal stories, humor, and God's word allowed me to immediately relate to her as a person and connect to her words. This book provided me the opportunity to look at life through a different lens while reflecting and growing. I look forward to rereading this book and providing it to my loved ones.

This book gave me the chance to do some soul-searching about how to make joy a lifestyle. The book covers 21 areas we all can use a little boost with and gives practical ways at the end of each chapter to gain ground in that area. One section that had a profound impact on me is the chapter called “Stop Busy” because it’s easy for me to get caught up in all the things I do and find too much satisfaction in telling my friends the long list of things I’m doing. This line hit me hard, “Everything screams for attention. Why is it that the voice that saved our lives gets ignored the most?” After reading the book, I decided to treat each chapter as a devotional with my teenage daughter because I want her to live every day as if it’s her best day. It allowed us to connect at a heart and soul level. Buy this book for your family members and friends to see revelation, breakthrough, and transformation in their lives. It’s one you’ll want to revisit again after reading the first time.

My adventure has begun!
I am what Clinicians call a "chronic pain patient". In my case, that means I wake up every morning between 4:00am - 5:00am with severe back pain. I have to get out of bed then because if I succeed in falling back to sleep, I wake up a couple hours later barely able to move to get out of bed. At that point, it takes me about 10 minutes to stand up and walk away from the bed. That's just one aspect of my chronic pain. I have always heard that we have a choice as to how we respond to life's circumstances, but that doesn't mean I was able to wake up with a big smile on my face every day and laugh my way from one party to another. Do I have a tendency to become negative throughout the day? Uh, yeah! Is that my first choice of attitude? Absolutely not!
When I heard what Carrie Wisehart's book was about, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on one. Ms. Wisehart gives the reader steps to take to shed that sour puss personality nobody wants to be around to someone that spreads joy wherever she goes. She surrounds those steps with words of Inspiration and her own life stories that make you laugh out loud. Wisehart is a transparent, authentic author. It is her sharing of her own experiences that helped me believe it really is possible to change life from one sad day after another to a life full of joy and adventure.
So, if you could use some help overcoming that negative outlook on life, buy this book and let today be the first day toward your Best Day Ever Adventure!

“Today is the best day ever; because if today were my last day, I would want it to be my best day. Therefore, today is the best day ever.”

Carrie takes us under her wing and introduces us to awakened spirituality, a new perspective, and a new life in her book “Choose: An Invitation to the Best Day Ever Adventure”. As a high school student, it’s a constant battle I face every day to keep positive and to find purpose through the struggles of gossip and coursework. On this twenty-one-day journey, I’ve learned how to make some serious choices in life that helped me grow exponentially: forgiveness, surrender, adventure, positivity, joy, and Him, all through relatable life stories and insightful new perspective. Carrie guides her readers through conversation and questions that challenge them, driven by the verse John 10:10, stating Jesus came so “that they may have life, and have it to the full”. It’s time to live our lives to the full.

What’re you waiting for? Your best day ever adventure is calling.

I have followed Carrie Wisehart’s personal blog for a while and love how her posts always seem to be written just for me. When I found out she had written a book, I was so excited to read it! This insightful book spoke to me just as her blog posts do. In her book, An Invitation to Choose the Best Day Ever Adventure, Wisehart reminds readers how they can transform their lives with one simple action, CHOOSING. Using an easy to follow format, Wisehart challenges and encourages readers to choose to live life fully and passionately. One of my favorite quotes from the book was, “You can’t choose what happens to you, but you can choose how you respond to it.” This is something I need to remind myself of daily, in all situations! I also loved the questions at the end of each chapter for reflection and application. Wisehart’s book has changed how I look at my hectic life and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to find balance and perspective by making simple choices every day.

I picked up An Invitation to Choose the Best Day Ever Adventure just a few short weeks after leaving my life as a teacher, Young Life leader, and missionary in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania behind and moving back “home” to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I’ve known Carrie for years, and her motto of “Choose Joy” was pasted in bold blue letters above my classroom door in Tanzania. But in Indiana, choosing joy became difficult. Everything loved and familiar seemed was a million miles away, and nothing came easy. External survival required internal shut down, and I was walking through life entirely numb on the inside when I opened the first pages of Choose. It was a choice I’ll never regret. Even in the very first chapter, I saw love written on the pages. Beautiful, funny, perfect, real, honest, truthful, and life-giving love. Carrie’s personality and absolute passion for life spills onto the pages and invigorates the reader to join her in making every single day a glorious adventure. She doesn’t shy away from vulnerability or brutal honesty, and yet shares her own life as a testimony of the power of following this path of adventure. The advice in this book is practical, and, at least for me, so, so timely: “There may be chaos in my world, but sitting down and praying helps me hear Him. There may not always be peace in my world but there’s always peace in Him.” I am infinitely grateful for the opportunity to read An Invitation to Choose the Best Day Ever Adventure and hope you too make the choice to join in this “adventure of a lifetime!”

Disclosure: I was given a pre-release copy in exchange for an honest review.

Carrie Wisehart’s An Invitation to Choose the Best Day Ever Adventure made me take a hard look at myself. Too often, I have allowed troubling, depressing, scary events in this world to steal my joy. In this 21-day adventure based on John 10:10, Wisehart challenges readers to choose the thoughts, actions and reactions that will enable us to have the joyful, abundant life God intended. Wisehart’s transparency, genuineness and fun-loving nature come alive in the stories she tells that made “the medicine go down in a most delightful way”, to borrow a phrase from Mary Poppins. One of her stories, however, brought tears to my eyes as she shared the extraordinary things Jesus did to answer her prayer and show His love in the midst of heartache. Don’t miss An Invitation to Choose the Best Day Ever Adventure. Its truths can transform your life.

Carrie Wisehart writes like no other. Her work is inspirational, beautiful, and challenging. It is so easy to let myself fall into negativity. To complain. To grumble. To care what others think. To think that busy means better. To let the days pass without really soaking them in. Carrie challenges all of this, and leaves readers longing to live their lives full of joy and, even more importantly, full of Jesus. I love the way she takes a simple story from everyday life and injects deep and applicable meaning into it! It challenges me to see such truths in the world around me. This life is meant to be lived according to John 10:10, and this book will help guide you and encourage you to start living that Best Day Ever Adventure that we all should be living. There’s no time to lose.

Y'all, I am not a reader, but I loved this book! Such an easy read and love how real the author is. Every chapter encouraged and challenged me. One chapter, in particular, talked about being self-less and living with "less"... I had to stop right there and purge my closet! I was able to bless a friend with two big boxes of clothes. God has absolutely used the authors words to change lives! I honestly feel like a different person, a better person. I plan on re reading this book many times and living out the Best Day Ever Adventure! Highly recommend!!

Carrie Wisehart not only invites you to choose your new adventure and to live the life that she does, but she challenges you. Reading this book is not an easy task, it contains plenty of crazy fun stories in-between, but you will be exploring your faith and self like you never have before. Many of you reading this story will not have pleasure of knowing Mrs. Wisehart, but her voice comes through loud and clear, seemingly like she is talking to you. It is definitely worth the read and the effort.

Challenging. Thought provoking. Profoundly intimate. 21 days of "prayerful-Jesus-strengthened-dangerous John 10:10" choices spoken through Wisehart's authentic voice and humble tone. A mindful antidote with the ability to HEAL and TRANSFORM.

There are plenty of books out there with Christ-based wisdom and recommendations that will change your life, but few that I have read so far have presented their ideas in such a genuine and relatable way as BDEA. This is one of those books that’s likely worth coming back to again and again, especially in those seasons where you find yourself struggling.

This book is an easy to read, conversational style book with loads of truths to encourage every reader especially those of us who are in a journey of grief, hurt, or conflict. The struggles in life are real but choosing makes the journey better, more joy-filled despite the pain and disappointments. This book is a small window into one of Carrie’s “Key Women” studies that I had the privilege of being a part in the recent past. She writes just like she leads a small group with humor, love, compassion, raw truth and always pointing us to Jesus.

I love Carrie’s honest confessions and life illustrations- the Choose plate is a visual I won’t forget- ever. In fact, I may use it with my students! The greatest take away from Choose has been “Joy is not happiness….. joy is not an emotion. Joy essentially is our Father. It exists in Him, so to find it, we need to be in Him….”

Every chapter is a challenge on how to have the best life. Some are simple ideas that you just need to be reminded of, and others are huge steps that are sometimes hard to face. Fantastic book!

Carrie Wisehart is a great author and it is a book I couldn't put down and am now on my fourth time of reading it. We all have choices to make in our lives and I choose Joy. Carrie talks about how our lives can be better with the choices we make. Each time that life gets a little hard, I pick up this book and it makes me realize how good my life really is.
