It is best if you read Exposed before reading this book. It is not a must, but you will understand more of this book. Viviana Moreau was the San Jose police Sergeant that we met in Exposed. She had a hot affair with Jaxton Hughes who was there undercover, but she had no idea. He is in San Jose as her new Commander. She had tried to forget him, but seeing him again brought it all back. But she is one tough cookie who likes to work alone and doesn't trust easily. Jax is brought in to try and reel in the "Enchantress" as she is called by the paper. He tries to tame her, but she fights him every step of the way!
Taylor Lee books are wonderful reads with lots of intrigue, undercover work, betrayal, lust, harassment, love and sex to name a few. I didn't want to put the book down once I started reading it. Max and Viviana's explosive sexual chemistry was off the charts! The case Viviana was working on was where movers and shakers were going to be brought down. It was exciting to see what Viviana had to do to bring these so called high society people down. I loved her CI Francis who was a respected business owner, but had another side where he dressed as a woman and was a pimp. His and Viviana's relationship was very interesting. I loved the book and can't wait for the follow up book to come out. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Tantrum fueled little girl meets big bad bully!
So this second book in the series sees our heroine, Sergeant Viviana Moreau returning to work after recovering from a gun shot wound, (book 1-Exposed.) to find the man that used her and left her...is now her new boss, Jaxton Hughes.
To cut to the chase nothing much happened until around 80%. She acted like a mouthy, tantrum fueled school girl and he was the defied bully teacher. Beyond their bickering and foolishness there was a story on underage prostitution with high profile players in the ring.
The storyline was beyond incredulous, boring and poor, that I contemplated giving in before half way through. (Never thought I'd say that with this author!!!)
Apparently this authors repertoire consists of extremists/drug cartels/or prostitution, ex special forces/ military/or law enforcement, and beautiful, big boobed women who lose their brains when they meet the big bad, womanizing piece of hotness. Oh yeah with a vicious ex or envious, physco female causing trouble in the mix.
Read one and you've read them all I'm afraid, just with different names, except perhaps the guys get more dominant and insufferable.
Unfortunately I wasn't impressed, as you can probably tell!

Taylor Lee Rocks!!!!
To those of you who hasn't read any of Taylor Lee's books you have no clue what you are missing!! Book 2 Forbidden picks up where book 1 Exposed leaves off. The Enchantress, Sergeant Viviana Moreau comes face to face with the man she had a sizzling fling with in Belize. Jason Hughes accepted the commanders position with SJPD thinking he come to terms with the guilt he feels for leaving Viviana in Belize after a mission the way he did. Wrong!!! Viviana is a tough, independent woman that trusts no one, especially Jax. When Viviana sinks her teeth in a dangerous investigation that will bring down some powerful people, Jax will see just what a spitfire Viviana is, but will he be able to get her to trust him enough to accept his help??? Taylor Lee's books contain sexy alpha men and strong willed women that give these men a run for their money, suspense, sexy scenes and the good guys bring down nasty criminals, usually with a twist. Sergeant Viviana Moreau of the San Jose Violent Crimes Unit is a heroine and the darling of the press after the take down of a major drug cartel. She is also a nightmare for her bosses in the police department because she will never do as she is told or tell them what she is doing. The new commander will soon change that. (He hopes).
Commander Jaxton Hughes is a known badass. A lifetime of law enforcement and special ops has made him incredibly arrogant. Because of the history he shares with the golden girl of his new team he is sure he can reign her in.
Our heroine has serious trust issues and is working a case that will rock the highest in the city.
A very exciting and sexy police procedural, romantic thriller. Very emotional subject matter, and fascinating characters.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Loved this book! The author raises the hotness factor in this novel, the second book in the Criminal Affairs Collection. Jax is the sexy as sin Commander of the police division that his former lover, known as the Enchantress, and shining star of the department, works in. He is arrogant enough to think that he can control both her and his reaction to her, but that is easier said than done...
What follows is a very sexy and hot romantic suspense that fans of the genre will love. The author is a powerhouse of the genre and this book demonstrates why - this novel is sexy and hot with a capital H! While this is book two of the series, it is a stand alone novel. Put this one at the top of your TBR list, you'll be glad you did. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I loved this story! Another well done story by Taylor Lee. It fits right in with her other books and it books up perfectly after the prequel for this story. I definitely recommend reading the prequel first as what happens in that story directly affects Viviana and Jason's relationship. Jason is the new commander of the San Jose Police Department, where Viviana works. They didn't leave things on the best of terms and so when he steps in and tries to take control, Viviana is resistant. She is on a huge case but she doesn't trust/doesn't want to bring Jason in. He refuses to be left out and it is a struggle between them with a whole lot of corruption going on around them. I liked the pacing of the story and the other characters that are involved as well. Everything is well written. The sex is explicit and the tension absolutely plays a large part in the story. The action was great and fits the story. There is plenty of intrigue as well. I really enjoyed reading the story and once started, I didn't want to put it down.

This is a standalone. You don't have to read Exposed in order to enjoy this book, but it is stood read in itself and will provide more background into Jax and Viv's relationship.
This book is fast paced, intriguing, and full of action and suspense. The only reason I would give it a 4.5 is that it was hard for me to get past Viv's attitude at the beginning. I found it to be more than a bit exhausting.
Jax and Viv have great chemistry. There are a number of hot sexy scenes, and you get a good romantic suspense in the bargain.
I would definitely recommend you read both Exposed and this book.

Great continuation to the story started in "Exposed"! This second story further develops the relationship between Viviana Moreau & Jaxton Hughes. It’s a great start to a new series. I can’t wait until the next book!!
As always, Taylor Lee writes a story line which is true to her heroes' and heroines' characters. There's always suspense, sometimes with a twist, & a bit of angst, often with a touch of heartache. The love is never easy but always well worth it. I highly recommend this and all of Ms. Lee's stories.

Good storyline but beginning to see a recurring theme with some books. The leading women are so blinded by rage and glory seekers that you can’t like them. Found the character of Viviannna to be so stupid in her behaviour, doing things that would get anyone else disciplined or fired. Imagine lying and yelling to your boss and also walking away from him right into danger. Okay story but hated vivianna.

A fun and sexy story! The prequel did a great job of introducing us to the characters, and I loved jumping right into the action. The plot was interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I just love Viviana and Jax and it was great to see their relationship develop. I can't wait for book 3!
