Wayne D. Overholser was born in Pomeroy, Washington. He won three Spur Awards from the Western Writers of America and has a long list of fine Western titles to his credit.

Wayne D. Overholser (born September 4, 1906 in Pomeroy, Washington; died August 27, 1996 in Boulder, Colorado) was an American Western writer.

Overholser won the 1953 First Spur Award for best novel for Lawman using the pseudonym Lee Leighton. In 1955 he won the 1954 (second) Spur Award for The Violent Land. He also used the pseudonyms John S. Daniels, Dan J. Stevens and Joseph Wayne.

A WDO. Western Adventure/A Brother Returns for His Share of the Ranch

WDO. has. penned a western adventure about a woman's brother who returns for his share of the ranch. The sister has married and her husband will not give him his share. In, fact the brother is earned that it he does not leave he will be framed and sent to jail. Then the struggle begins, but there is more to the struggle than meets the eye. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
