A new witch in town, a brutal bloodbath, and I'm out of options.
Evil gathers in the Louisiana swamps, and it comes for the witches of New Orleans. If I had known, maybe I would have kept my guard up. I may have changed the focus of the city's witches to defense, instead of learning. But vanquishing the city's demons left us complacent, and comfortable. We celebrated, and enjoyed the period of peace that followed.
But we have no idea of the danger we're all in.
When the vampires come in the night, swift and deadly, the witches of the city are left scattered, hurt, and broken. Now, wracked with grief for the injured and the dead, I have to find a way to lead, but there are those who won't make that easy for me; those who would rather go back to the old days, where witches killed vampires with impunity, whether they were decent people or not. I can't allow that to happen. We worked too hard to make New Orleans an inclusive place, and I'll die before I let someone destroy everything we've built.
Katerina Martinez is a widely known author who writes supernatural fiction with a creepy, thrilling, and romantic bent. A veteran of many years of writing, she is the author of Dark Siren, the first book in the breakout Half-Lich Trilogy which became an instant bestseller in 2016. She continues to expand her back-list with books such as Wings of Light, and Heart of the Thief, and Night Hunter - three series starters that all take place in the same world.

After reading Demon's Kiss, I was sooo eager to read this 3rd (and not last!!) book! You know, we knew Remy was about to teach Madison some tricks, Madison which is powerful even without any real training. Promising. And more promising even, we (ok, she) had very unfinished business with some hot guys. Team Jared, girls, team Jared.
Weeeell, you're going to be satisfied! Though it took me time to really enter the book, as the story starts in a new place in New Orleans and some things have happened between the end of book 2 and the beginning of this one, once you're in, you can't get out! Magick is finally becoming "common" knowledge for New Orleans' witches, and Madison starts slowy to show her power. Everything is going perfectly when some evil bit... witch arrives, claiming what's not hers, or not anymore. She will bring with her confusion, danger, and trouble in general. Useless to say, she's powerful. And experienced. But what will truly give her power, is the arrival of a very powerful vampire and her muderous crew, bringing division when Madison and her friends seek unity.
Blood will be spilled, and Madison will face difficulties she wasn't ready to face. Loss and treason will come, heart breaking. But when it's too much, it's too much, and Madison never gives up. Really, you don't want to piss a high witch. Neither do you want to stand in the way of a Blood Witch's wrath... One with high connections and instinctive raw powers. And maybe a gorgeous man by her side (just saying, just saying).
Trust me, you really want to keep following these series! The sooner the better ;)
I have now read all of Katerina Martinez's series and enjoyed them very much. They would have flowed better if the grammar had been spot on. Following the word "than" the pronoun should be subjective not objective. That is : I, we , they, you, and not me, us, and them. This is because "than" is a conjunction and often part of the sentence is dropped but still implied. For example: "He is bigger than I am " reduces to " he is bigger than I. This is easy to check for. If you are inclined to say: "He is bigger than me." remember the rest of the sentence is implied. Which would be "he is bigger than me is" which is wrong and sounds childish. There are other errors of a similar nature. A copy editor such as an English teacher would be able to show one how to improve one's writing skills. When the main character is a writer it shows respect for her/his voice to have the grammar correct.
Despite all expectations that it would be this is not the last book in the series! This makes me rather happy as I'm loving all the witchy and vampirey mayhem!
This book is about redemption and coming together in personal relationships and the witch community despite Remy's (sort of) ex-wife turning up to ruin the show.
We get to see more about dark magick being used for good as well though with possible unintended consequences.
It didn't take me long to read and I was pleasantly surprised in some of the ways the different relationships ended up by the end of this book. We'll see if that all gets thrown up in the air again in the next book.
They make it so easy to just read the book and not put it down. The story just flows and I always enjoy the magical fights that happen.
Once again, the compulsively readable Katerina Martinez, has done it again. I never thought she could outdo her Amber Lee series, but with the Blood and Magick series, she definitely has. Any one of her books will give you hours of reading pleasure. Even though there are plenty of urban fantasy and paranormal books out there to choose from, "Witch's Wrath," along with the rest of the books in this series, just has something special about it. Maybe it's the New Orleans setting, maybe it's the awesome mansion and colorful characters that inhabit this world, or maybe it's just Madison herself, but whatever intangible thing it is, this book rocks. In her bio, it refers to Katerina Martinez as an "up and coming author." I think this needs to change - Katerina Martinez has arrived!
**I received an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**
Nothing was stopping me once this book got rolling. Madison has new enemies around every corner and they all have powers that test her to her very limits. As her allies start falling to the wayside, how is she supposed to protect her 'family' and defend New Orleans from these new threats? I was glued to my reader, frantically flipping pages, looking for that answer. It's not quite a cliff-hanger ending, but it's certainly left me on pins and needles waiting for the next book. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
I loved this book and the whole series. I don't want to give away any spoilers. But this book is so realistic, and so well written. It has a kick ass witch, crazy vampires, demons and best of all it's based in New Orleans. I'll admit in the last book, I hoped she would end up with one of the vampires, but who she did end up with was even better. This book has fighting, magic, stress, caring and so much more. Does it have a HEA ????? You need to read to find out. Just an amazing book it deserves more than 5 stars, but that's all I could give it.
Katerina Martinez knocked this book out of the park. It was fast moving, full of action and the character's are awesome. I love Madison and Jared's dynamic together but with Tamara and Marie into the mix, this makes for a fabulous series. With everything that happens in just this book alone, I cannot imagine what will show up in the next.
I really enjoyed reading Witch's Wrath. I didn't want to put it down so I read it pretty quickly. Madison goes through a lot in this book. I felt like this book was a lot more emotional than the others, for me anyways. Madison is a bad a** witch that is done taking everyone's sh**. This story was well written and I enjoyed the characters. I can't wait to read book 4.
Maddie gets kicked out of the coven because of Remy's ex-wife. Then finds out that she's the mastermind behind the "other" vampires causing all the problems. When Tamara finally gets kicked out of town, her last words were, "I didn't stop your magic their is someone or something stronger that stopped the magic".
Was a great book, with unexpected twists, and turns! Great characters, and great plot. One star is missing, only because there was a segment of the story, where a whole scene was repeated, twice. I had to flip through pages, to get to the next segment.
Madison is back and I really enjoy this series. She finally decides what to do about Jared and I think everyone will be pleased. A bad witch and vampire come to town and they want the city. It's a great story with a good ending.
Blood and Magick book 3 is just awesome. I had a great time reading this book and like a lot of Katerina's books is just like watching a movie. Everyone should read this series. Totally awesome.
Again, another wonderful book in another GREAT series! Katerina Martinez has me turning page after page...finishing another book before I know it! *claps* God I can't wait for the next one!
This book is a knock down drag out fight from first page to last. Katerina is truly a unique talent to continue with her riveting tales into the underbelly of badness. The only thing I will say is Madison Kicks Ass and takes names. Six star worthy writing.
Really love this series! It's fresh and different and has many different supernatural creatures without being cheesy. It has romance without being all about the sex. It has a great storyline that keeps you interested and characters you really care about. Love it!
Witches are having a few problems. New witch in town and she is evil. Tamara and Marie are evil witches but the new one is worse. Great book worth 5 stars.
Oh wow! Katerina Martinez really knows how to write! This books full of surprises, twists and turns, and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat! I loved reading it!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The third exciting installment in the Blood and Magick series was certainly full of the unexpected. Some very harrowing moments, but balanced out by love and friendship. The supernaturals of New Orleans are trying to live harmoniously, but outsiders have other ideas with dire consequences. Loved the story and can't wait for the next in the series
