What started out sketchy morphed into something pretty good, before sliding back into the gutter.
*SPOILER ALERT*

At the beginning, we have two girls under the age of 21 sulking on a bench, due to the fact that they can't get into a bar. The heroine - Maggie - meets a hot guy who turns out to be a divorced pastor. I cringed when I thought that they would immediately go at it like rabbits, but that didn't happen. Their strained relationship went at a semi slow-burn pace, which was nice. The fact that the H/h had a genuine need to help the homeless added a nice dimension to their characters.
The sex scenes were good, overall...
What messed up the story for me was the later BUTTSEXX scene - right at the altar of the church. I'm not a religious person at all, but that bit was too over-the-top and gross for my taste. Add to it the part where Maggie is sent to an all-girl's Christian home, with Kaine (yeah - that is the pastor's first name) coming to the rescue - I was done. Cue in the final scene with them having sex, with Kaine admiring her new sparkling pink butt plug, I was really done. This could have been a 3.5 star for me, but it devolved to crap. 1.5 stars.

Decent read.

The anal scene at the Church alter seemed weird, especially coming from the Hero who was a Pastor. I’m not even Christian and I found that odd.

Also, it was mentioned maybe 2-3 times that the heroine looked like Wednesday from the Addams Family.. not someone I would think is normally attractive so that image in my head sucked.

Heroines mom sucked and deserved some sorta punishment, along with the Hero’s ex wife but nope sadly nothing.

Un buen libro corto si lo que quieres leer son escenas sexuales bastante, ejem, subiditas de tono.

Al inicio del libro se nos quiere presentar a una chica mala, rebelde, que va contra las reglas, pero lo único que pude leer fue un personaje bastante buena persona y caritativa.

Nuestra protagonista Maggie, de 19 años, creció bajo creencias religiosas, pero ella a una corta edad se dio cuenta que todo esto era bastante hipócrita, y más aún bajo el círculo familiar en el que vivía, con una madre que le tenía envidia a su propia hija y que se le insinuaba constantemente a los curas de las iglesias, razón por la cual no le permitían volver.

Maggie tiene una hermana gemela la cual fue totalmente borrada y botada de la familia al quedar embarazada a los 16 años, pero Maggie seguía viéndola y apoyándola.

Mientras que nuestro protagonista masculino, Kaine, de 30 años, el nuevo pastor de la iglesia, el cual está divorciado y que al conocer a Maggie, todos sus deseos carnales y de protección renacen en él.

Siento que quedaron muchos temas inconclusos en el desarrollo del libro, por ejemplo, el tema con la ex esposa de Kaine, la amiga de Maggie, la cual no apareció nunca más, etc.

Pero bueno, un buen final y no puedo no mencionar ESA escena en la iglesia, OMG, que calor!!

I was surprised to like this book. I thought it'd be about a big dommy preacher who is more like a hypocrite than shepherd, but this was about a man who falls for a younger girl and he happens to be a pastor at a church her family decides to attend. There's definitely hypocrisy here, but not from Kaine or Maggie, it abounds in the congregation and tries desperately to tear them apart.

Maggie is a well-rounded and compassionate young woman who embodies things that Kaine wasn't sure he could find again. Kaine is crazy sexy and introduces Maggie to both non-judgmental religion and an acceptance for her real self that is sorely lacking in the parents who should just love her. Thankfully Maggie isn't a young, hot piece to make Kaine feel better about his messed up situation and it's equally good that Kaine isn't a substitute for a crappy father. There's actual depth to their affection and interactions, not just super steamy lust. Though there's definitely plenty of that.

Overall, I was impressed with the depth conveyed in such a short story filled with lots of sexy times. I read and reviewed this ARC voluntarily for the author.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book. Talk about a taboo love story, the divorced pastor and the young virgin! I really liked this book a lot and I really disliked Maggie's parents, especially her mother! I will never understand how people can be so fanatical with their religion that they would disown their own children! Maggie is a strong, smart, caring young woman who is smothered by her mother. When she and Kaine meet both of them knows that there's something pulling them together even though Kaine tries to fight it! He doesn't need any more scandal in his life and getting involved with Maggie will definitely cause a scandal! The more they spend time together, the more he sees how amazing she is and his feelings get stronger for her. He punishes himself for his impure thoughts of her but the heart wants what it wants! There's a lot of dynamics to this story and underlying relationships. I look forward to more stories by Annette Fields!

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here. Kaine is a recently divorced preacher as a result of his ex wife's infidelity but his hypocritical congregation. Maggie is a 19 year old young girl who lacks love and affection from her parents who are just as bad as the rest of the church's congregation. When Kaine and Maggie meet sparks positively sizzle between them but it taboo. But they are so good for one another. Both don't expect to find love, passion, tenderness and caring but they find this in one another. This is so well written that I just had to keep reading it last night until the wee small hours as I was hooked on them finding their HEA. Annette Fields is a new author to me but I'm going to be looking for more of her books in future. Recommended

Holy mother of ... mmkay.. I am over here trying to get myself together!
I was actually on the fence about this book when I first went in! I can honestly say that changed pretty quickly! The fascinating wordplay that was just steaming with sensuality coupled its taboos and white-hot scenes.
The budding relationship between the Pastor ( Kaine ) and Maggie is not only sinfully delicious; it is heartwarming, witty, amazing roller coaster of love and acceptance watch unfold.
Once I started this beast of a book, there was no turning back! The dark and twisted seductive taboo turns had me in its clutches, and I was not about to try to escape until I knew the conclusion of Kaine and Maggie's story!
Annette Feilds has me all over the place with this one! I LOVED it!!

I think I had way too much fun reading this book, probably more fun than the author intended. Reading the blurb and thinking of the content should have made me feel more somber and sympathetic for the characters. Sympathetic I was, for sure, but dang if Maggie and Kaine didn't have an awful lot of fun staying true to their beliefs while ignoring the hypocrisy that surrounded them. This book is the very definition of a guilty pleasure, and I dare anyone to say their love story wasn't ordained in Heaven! Maggie is one plucky young lady, wise beyond her years, and she is the perfect match for disillusioned Kaine, who is beyond tired of the people in his life being the worst sort of hypocrites. Together they break free of everyone's restrictive expectations and forge their own life together. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Kaine is a minister drowning his sorrows late one night in a bar when he first lays eyes on Maggie. The finalization of his divorce has depressed his spirit. Maggie and her best friend have slipped out to this bar to do a little underage drinking. However, the bouncer is not fooled by their fake license and refuses them entry. Kaine & Maggie are attracted to each other and, in time, begin a hot, lustful relationship that morphs into something more. Loved this story and found the time well spent. One becomes attached to this adorable couple and watch with bated breath as they fight prejudice, hypocrisy, self righteousness, jealousy and vindictiveness. Wonderfully sweet romance. This was a Sinfully delicious read, the characters were very well written and the plot was entertaining and had an easy flow that made the story enjoyable to read. This book might be slightly controversial to those that have strong religious beliefs but if you are an open minded person I am sure you will enjoy it for what it is, a hot and steamy read about a slightly naughty pastor and a sweet girl who is tired of being controlled by her overly religious parents, to me it was a great read and I am sure many others will feel the same.

Wow! Hot hot hot - forbidden attraction - Loved this story line. Absolutely unique and well written.
The chemistry and attraction between Maggie and Kaine is amazing. That Kaine is a pastor and furthermore divorced is not the best beginning to a attraction towards the younger Maggie. I like, that Annette Fields has taken a whole new story line path.
This book has attraction, corruption, romance, hot scenes, drama and romance. It has it all. I just had to go on reading to find out what happens next.
It caught me from the beginning. Absolutely worth reading.

The story of Maggie and Kane is definitely one you should check into. I've read several books from Annette Fields and they do captivate you and suck you in completely from the beginning. I thought it was well written the storylines were great and the way the book was written is almost as if you are living this for yourself. I feel that if you are looking for a book that you won't be able to put down, this is it. I would tell you more but I'm not that reviewer to give it all away and I can keep going on and on. If you like a forbidden love then look no further. Kaine is a Sexy AF pastor who is recently divorced and moved to start over. Maggie is sweet and caring and once she meets Kaine they have such an magnetic connection that they can't stay away from each other. But with a crazy ex and Maggie's mother who is jealous of her own daughter has plans to destroy their happiness. Great read and absolutely loved Kaine & Maggie.

Kaine is a preacher & has just gotten divorced due to his wife's infidelity. Maggie tries to get kaine's attention to vouch for her friend & herself to get in a bar.
She's trouble & temptation all in one. When there paths cross innocently again the chemistry is still there.
The storyline really draws you in & makes you eager to see what happens.

I received this book for s voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This book is about Kaine, a pastor in a church in which Maggie, our heroine, is brought to by her parents to "fix" her. The two immediately gravitate to one another.
I was worried this would come off as a rather creepy idea given the real issues happening within the various churches. However, this was quite sweet even with all the steamy parts. Recommended.

Chemistry that's off the charts, a jealous mother and lots of drama. I really did not think that I would like this book based on the title, but was pleasantly surprised. Another truely fabulous book from Annette Fields! I couldn't put it down. Had me hooked from start to finish.
This is the story of Maggie and Kaine.
Kaine is the divorced pastor who already feels shameful for divorcing...... can he keeps his hand off the beautiful Maggie, you know what they say 'once a sinner, always a sinner' hahaha.
Really great read and Highly recommended.

I really liked this book. I like Annette's writing style. Her books have a good story line which are easy to follow along to. The book is about Maggie a 19 yr old with some issues. Who meets pastor Kaine whose recently divorced. They form a bond yet his ex and her mom try to keep them from each other. You need to read the book to see what happens with Maggie/Kaine.

Kaine is a young pastor who has just been divorced from his cheating wife. Maggie is a young girl who just wants to have fun but her parents are very religious. But when Maggie and Kaine meets they are instantly attracted to each other. I really liked this book. it was sweet and romantic and hot. I felt sorry for Maggie who has such terrible parent's. I will highly recommend the book to everyone

this was a great book as usual. i love the theme characters and the overall plot line. i can't say enough about this book. it does have elements of religion but i think the author is tasteful about it and just has elements of some of the more hard core religious types. again i love this book and you should definatly read this

This was a really good story by Annette. Once I started reading the book I couldn't stop. She has a way of weaving a story that draws you in from start to finish. The heat level between these 2 characters was hot as hell. I definitely recommend this book.

Una historia taboo, de un pastor y una joven rebelde 🔥.
Si como lo lees, esta es una historia corta en donde un pastor recientemente divorciado se muda de pueblo y durante una ceremonia religiosa conoce a una joven, a la que el define como muy sensual, pero la joven tambien tiene algunas actitudes "rebeldes" según su familia completamente religiosa.
Kaine y Maggie son un torbellino de sensualidad pero ambos tienen secretos y se brindarán apoyo para resolverlos.

Una historia muy hot que me mantuvo enganchada desde el primer momento, la cual te deja con ganas de saber más y que son las cosas que ocultan cada personaje. Obviamente a los personajes que odie son a los padres de Maggie, no entiendo como una persona puede hacer tanto daño a otra que supuestamente queres.
El final me dejo en shock 😮
