Twin Ponds #4

Murder By Duplicity

Rate this book
During the construction of a new hotel, a skeleton is unearthed and all fingers point to Twin Ponds’ Mayor. Ten years before, Bill Barnes and George Peabody waged a vicious battle to be elected mayor. Did a campaign that threatened to destroy his reputation push Bill to do the unthinkable and murder his rival? Or did George’s wife, Bill’s lover for over a decade, kill her husband? Are they both responsible?
As Sheriff Cammie Farnsworth and her staff delve into the 10 year old homicide, they uncover secrets better left hidden. Especially when those secrets cause the murder of another, whose death at first appears unrelated. However, as each layer is peeled back, the newest victim’s secrets reveal a conspiracy of lies, deceit and duplicity that leave this small town wondering if Twin Ponds will ever be the same.

This is the 4th in the series and the first time reading this author. The main character is Cammie who is the sheriff of the town of Twins Ponds. They find a body buried in the middle of the woods while clearing it for a new hotel. They figure out who it was and that he was murdered. It could be the mayor or his assistant who was married to the dead man. The fact that he was missing for years and she never filed for divorce but was also seeing the mayor from before her hubby disappeared makes it look like they were involved. Then another body is found. Can Cammie figure this out before
it's too late ? Loved it

Another great goodreads about Twin Ponds and it’s high profile residents. The Sheriff, Cammie, has a murder mystery to solve. Not that simple when her investigative skills uncover secrets that lead to several suspects and a not expected ending. She’s good, really good with her gut feelings, too. This book like the first 3 is 5 star writing by BT Lord with the characters readers loved from the beginning book. Enjoy reading that keeps you guessing?
Read ‘Murder by Duplicity’, bet you’ll be surprised by the ending, too.

Really excellent!

Buried body in the forest is main item of interest. Who is it, how did he die, and who did it are the questions to be answered in this great mystery. Lots of town history and past events are revealed before the mystery is solved!

Got me again

B.T. Lord does it again with this very intricate and layered mystery, and yeah, I got fooled again. Just when I had it all figured out, there was another twist.

Read all of them.

I liked the first one and fell in love with the Sheriff and the town of Twin Ponds. All three books are great.

Decent book. Kind of drawn out. Virtual voice was terrible.
