Okay, I'm rage quitting this one because one of the MCs is pissing me off so much that I don't want to spend more time with him. Based on the glowing reviews for this one, I might be over thinking things but I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Here are some of my smaller issues:

+ Ryder is an artist and conveniently, Stig is an art gallery manager so art is a huge part of the story. That wasn't indicate in the summary and art bores me to tears so that was already a strike against the story.

+ Ryder suffers from multiple complications from his traumatic brain injury, including mobility issues, debilitating migraines and memory problems. It's been 8 years since his injury so you'd think that he's had plenty of time to figure out how to live life safely and comfortably. But at the beginning of the story, . The guy made no effort to properly take care of himself and that made no sense if he's already spent 8 years living with his disabilities.

+ Ryder is extremely depressed, lonely and unhappy with his life, yet he makes a living being a motivational speaker. He literally gets paid to travel around, talk about his disability and make others feel better about their lives. This rubbed me the wrong way on many levels. It felt like the people hiring him were just hiring him as a token disabled guy who they can parade around and point at while telling their audience to quit feeling sorry for themselves because at least they're not in Ryder's position. At the same time, it felt kind of disingenuous for Ryder to be talking to others about how to survive difficult situations when he's not doing well himself. Maybe I'm over thinking it but it didn't feel right.

+ Ryder is straight. He's very, very straight. Once again, this isn't mentioned in the summary and if I had known that Ryder considers himself 100% straight and he'll be pursuing women in the story, I would have thought twice about reading it. I'm not a huge fan of gay/bi awakening stories so I don't appreciate it when authors don't clarify what the MCs orientation status is in the blurb if a gay/bi awakening is part of the plans.

But I could have dealt with all of the Ryder related issues I had, if I had liked Stig. But, oh boy - Stig is the one who made me rage-quit this book. And no, it wasn't because Stig is a stupid name. It's definitely a stupid name but that was the least of my problems.

I think this is one of those times where the author approached the characters from one direction and I came from another. I know they probably thought the cuddling-while-wearing-underwear thing was cute and Stig watching Ryder paint made Stig appreciate what an artistic genius Ryder is or whatever. But I hated Stig.

OH! I saved the best for last. You wanna know what Stig does after his day at the art gallery? He decides he needs to have a one night stand ASAP. So he calls a guy who he regularly sees. That's great, right? Well,

W...T...F....?!? Listen, I'm a huge fan of BDSM. I don't mind non-con stuff happening in romance books. But there was nothing - NOTHING - in the summary of this book to indicate that such a scene would happen and that's not cool. Especially if you're going to include hardcore BDSM kinks AND include non-con situations.

Clearly, the way this author approaches romances isn't my cup of tea.

If you’ve read Found at the Library you’ve met Ryder and Stig. You’re also wildly curious about Ryder, his brain injury, his life, and his life after what happened in Tommy and Mac’s book. If you haven’t read the first book in Christi Snow’s Found series please know that you can step into this book without having read the first and not be lost or confused.

Eight years ago Ryder Garrett suffered a traumatic brain injury. It’s left him with more complications than he can handle on his own on a regular basis. Some days are better than others. Some days he needs more help than he would like to require. It is on one of those rough days when the Stig Minton finds Ryder in the bookstore.

The ironic thing is is that Stig is more of a mess than Ryder. Stig’s mess is a mess of his own making to a certain extent though. He’s a successful business owner. He’s wealthy. He’s attractive. On the surface Stig is a man that he has it all. He’s also lonely, broken, and makes some questionable decisions on how to fill those gaps of loneliness.

Talk about two men that are a balm to the others soul. Found at the Bookstore had that. Yes I know what an interesting thing for two men to find at the bookstore. They start off as friends. Stig can see that Ryder really needs that. Ryder accepts the friendship that is offered especially after seeing how his good, normal days are becoming an almost regular occurrence. The attraction that moves these friends into lovers is sexy and makes for a very enjoyable read.

I knew I would love this book the moment I loaded it on my eReader. The metadata it loaded with had some tags that had me so excited to start reading it: friends to lovers, may december romance, tbi brain damage, virgin hero. What’s not to love there? Snow delivered on all that possible awesomeness.

I really enjoyed this one. It was great to see the MC's from the first book too. I thought Stig and Ryder were perfect for each other. I have enjoyed both books in the series...

Two things: This cover makes me a little swoony and this book is SO GOOD. I liked Tommy and Mac from book 1, but I absolutely ADORED Ryder and Stig. They were just both so...closed off. Kinda broken. A little messed up. Well, a lot messed up, really. But their jagged edges complemented each other.

It worked so well for me.

*gives myself a moment*

Okay. So. Ryder's issues are more on the physical end of things. His memory problems when he has an episode and his body not working the way he needs it to have taken a toll on him. Most of the time he has a handle on things, but he's also closed himself off because of his injury. He works, he does his (kinda scary) art thing, and he stays in his house. Stig gives him a reason to put himself out there. It does take him a while to get to the point where he's comfortable accepting the attraction between them, but once he does, all bets are off.

Then there's Stig. The guy is... heartbroken, for lack of a better word. Not because he lost Mac or anything, but more because he needs...I don't know how to put it. Like, his head has resigned himself to being alone, but his heart hasn't quite caught up to that. He's in a rough place and Ryder *needing* his friendship is huge. Then things go beyond friendship and he's doubting himself all over again.

Poor guy.

On top of all the glorious emotions, there's also a teeny, tiny bit of danger the guys find themselves tangled up in. Well, Stig finds himself. He tries to keep Ryder out of it, but THINGS HAPPEN.

I'm just going to say I really liked this book. A lot. A LOT, A LOT. It has a smokin' hot cover and a romance that pleased me on many levels. *slow thumbs up*

Ryder and Stig have known each other, but only in passing, through Mac and Tommy, but they get to know one another better when Ryder becomes ill and Stig takes him home and cares for him. They go their separate ways, but neither can get the other off of their minds. This is really surprising for Ryder who has always considered himself straight. As the two grow closer their feelings grow deeper, but will they give in and explore those feelings.

Aww, I absolutely loved Ryder and Stig, they come together just when they each need someone the most. They fit perfectly together. They are both a bit broken, but as their feelings for one another deepen they slowly begin to put the pieces of themselves back together. They mend their heartache by learning to love each other.

This was a sweet story of hope and healing. The chemistry between Stig and Ryder was off the charts and the sex was smoking hot. This story has sweetness, friendship, family and of course, love. I loved how Ryder and Stig cared for each other, both physically and emotionally. I also loved getting to see Mac and Tommy and while this is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, but if you skip Found at the Library, you'll be missing out on a great story. Very enjoyable and absolutely recommendable!!

I preferred this one to the first in the series, as I loved both Stig and Ryder as characters.

Stig had so much love to give and I felt for him in the previous book as it’s hard to be the one left behind. I liked watching him with Ryder, he didn’t pretend to know what he was doing but his help came from a place where he genuinely wanted what was best for Ryder. His desires for human contact led him into trouble and this is the part I’m a little iffy on but it didn’t take away too much from my enjoyment of the book as a whole.

I felt for Ryder with his TBI. I’m not sure how close to correct it was with the portrayal but it felt relatively realistic. His disappointment when he couldn’t remember parts after blacking out to his enjoyment and desire to live as normal as possible were well done. I also liked his reaction to Stig wanting to take him to the new doctor, as it would feel like Stig was trying to fix him to make him normal and that would disappoint me too if I was in the same situation.

The story progressed well and the guys were given time to get to know each other so it worked better for me.

I loved Found at the Library, I thought it was so creative, and it really became a bit of a comfort read for me (in fact, I “had” to re-read it before beginning Found at the Bookstore…just to catch up of course 😉 ). I honestly wasn’t sure that Christi could re-create that magic for me with book 2. However, I forgot that her writing is always magic for me. She has the ability to bring characters to life that aren’t one dimensional, that have issues that are not simplistic, or easily solvable. And she definitely does this with Ryder and Stig.

Christi does a fantastic job with making these characters grow as people. What began as a questionable acquaintanceship, grew and moved forward. Ryder did not have an easy life after his TBI happened in high school. He worked at becoming as independent as he could, but still had to rely on others, and at times it was so painful all he could do was sink into it, and hope to come back out the other side. Yet, throughout the story, even as his relationship with Stig began to grow, Ryder began to flourish more as his own person, growing stronger and more confident in himself.

Stig, meanwhile, grew in a different way. Someone who presented himself as bitter over the loss of his ex, and somewhat of a selfish playboy, he began to grow as someone who could care for someone else, not just physically, but emotionally. Previously, he had been seen as one-dimensional, but we began quickly to see that when he cared, he cared deeply. However, he definitely had a darker side that needed to be tended to.

These two had a very rocky road to get to their HEA, including a darkness that almost cost them both everything. Yet it also allowed Ryder to stand up in a way he never had before, and as a reader you couldn’t help but cheer for him in that moment. It was that moment that you sometimes see in movies where the hero you don’t expect overcomes and you stand up and cheer and clap. That moment is worth all the tough ones that come before.

Don’t ask me to choose between these two books as my favorite. I won’t. Just know, I will be reading them both again, sooner rather than later. 🙂

It feels like I have waited forever for this story and let me tell you it was SO worth the wait.

We met Ryder and Stig in Found at the library but in totally different circumstances.

Ryder suffered a brain injury in high school playing football that left him isolated, depressed and damaged.

Stig is the bad boy you just have to love. But his reputation is all wrong, everyone sees a player where he just wants to find his happily ever after.

Ryder and Stig strike up a friendship that quickly blossoms to more but will Stigs secret be their downfall.

I love Christi's style of writing it captivates and draws you in.

I loved the first book so much, I needed to pre-order this one & devoured it on release day. I'm so glad I did! The characters are unique, the premise believable, and I even learned a little something. This work was well researched, yet the sometimes heavy topic in no way took away from the romance. I give the author credit, it was a tricky topic, with flawed main characters, and a really great first book in the series - she set the bar pretty high, but she flew right over it!

Sweet, tender, emotional, angsty at times, fast paced, lovable heroes... Really, really liked this one. The hero wasn't on his wheelchair all the time, only when he got tired, which coincidentally happened in the opening, so our heroes could come closer. I wanted to see how they'd deal with the hero's mobility issues later on, but for most of the book afterwards, he appeared OK and completely normal. But I liked it anyway.

arc given from author for a honest review.
I have read a couple books from Christi prior but my first m/m from her. I have read a couple n/n before so that was nothing new for me.

I really enjoyed this one. and that cover. wow look at that.. (I am a huge Nathan fan).
I have not read the first in the series (Tommy and Mac's book) was informed didn't really need to (but I may have to check it out).

This is the story of Ryder and Stig.. Both men are pretty messed up and completely broken..
I could go on and on about this book. but I don't really want to give to much away..

I just loved that they two beautifully broken men were able to find each other and form a friendship that turned into so much more.

thank you for allowing me to read this amazing book.. <3

I was soooo happy to see this book! I had absolutely loved book one – review here: http://openskyebookreviews.com/found-...- and I also really love hurt/comfort books so…

I absolutely adored Ryder. He is a fantastic character and was so easy to love. Stig was a bit harder for me, especially in the beginning. Stig has some “issues” that make him like things that are difficult to appreciate. He’s also not the best boyfriend – but he absolutely comes through in the end and is totally deserving of Ryder.

It was great seeing Tommy and Mac (the MCs from book one) again – but they really only make some brief pit stops.

The smexy times are pretty hot, but don’t overwhelm the story. There’s a bit of danger – and – if anything – this would be the part of the story I liked the least. I didn’t think our guys needed MORE hurdles to overcome – they had quite enough. The BDSM part – which is tied to this danger – was something I didn’t quite gel with either – but it does illustrate just how complex a man Stig really is.

I couldn’t put this down and I loved it – book one is still my favorite – but this is a very worthy sequel.

Highly recommended!

If you haven’t read the first book in the Found series by Christi Snow, you might want to think about doing it first before reading Found at the Bookstore. Is it necessary…no. BUT! It will give you a nice introduction to Ryder and Stig and why everybody is in Vegas. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Ryder’s life was on track until he suffered a traumatic brain injury in high school. Life as he knew it ended. He doesn’t have room in his life for love when every day is a struggle. Stig has been around the block a time or two. He’s got a rep as a player and is sad for himself when he sees his good friend and former over find love. Friendship forms between them when they help Ryder’s brother and his lover with their wedding. Friendship becomes something more but they both think that maybe they are too broken for something more. Then again, maybe they aren’t.

Where the first book in the series was more playful, Found at the Bookstore has more sadness to it. I was not a fan of either Ryder or Stig in the first book. I found Stig to be pretentious and Ryder selfish in his suicide attempt. Now that I have gotten to know them more I realize both men are filled with pain and lonely. Their coming together had the feeling of a terrible wrong finally being made right by giving to fragile souls the love the deserved.

What really makes this series shine for me is the characters. I love how all the characters just don’t fade away after their story is told. How they continue to intertwine. Mac and Tommy, Stig and Ryder, Emily and…well hello sexy stranger! Who are you and why do you look so cozy with her? I bet there’s a story there to be found. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stig and Ry is the perfect couple.
Ry has a brain injury and a virgin. Stig is 12yrs older and thinks that he is too set in his ways to find love
After finding each other, they formed a friendship and moved on to a relationship that neither of them could deny.
There is a bit of drama with one of Stig's ex, and it will keep you on the edge. I think I when through a few emotions and could not put the book down. I was also crossing my fingers for Ry's health issues
I really enjoyed this book.

I was surprised I enjoyed this book so much since contemporaries usually start to bore me and I always end up feeling the story starts to drag.

I wouldn’t call this a g4y or an o4y, but it was really more of a coming of age type of story. I know I know... Ryder is 26 and has been of age for quite some time, but after only focusing on school and then having to deal with his head injury, at 26 he never really gave his sexuality a thought and had just assumed he was straight, obviously until Stig makes him feel more than ever.

I feel like hurt/comfort of this story helped it not bore me with all its contemporaryness (yes that’s a word now...) and I really loved how these guys took care of each other.

I will admit that I hated the whole “I’m not good enough for so and so, and they deserve so much better” trope in this romance... it’s one of my most hated tropes, coming in second to the dreaded “big misunderstanding”(which thankfully this didn’t have). I really wanted to punch the guys when went down those lines of thinking, and only then did I start skimming the story to avoid their pity party.

Hope & Believe in Us!

Photographer/Artist Ryder finds love with enigmatic Art Gallery Owner Stig. I have mixed feelings about this story. Pros: interesting enough MCs, a good premise with a bit of suspense to make it intriguing. I did enjoy the TBI health connection as a part of the story. Cons: the lack of interaction between the brothers especially, in the beginning, the missing phone, and the lackadaisical ways Stig handled the Peter situation. Also, inexperience Ryder became so experience with his first encounters with Stig, didn’t seem authentic. Overall, a good read. Rating: 3 1/2⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Found at the Library, the first book in Christi Snow’s Found series. I walked away from Tommy and Max’s HEA already looking forward to Stig and Ryder’s story. I wasn’t disappointed. At all.

You can read Found at the Bookstore without having read Found at the Library, but both characters were introduced in the first book. Ryder is Tommy’s brother and Stig is not only one of Max’s closest friends, but his ex. Stig is one of those characters that are larger than life. Ryder is the exact opposite, definitely not Stig’s type. Yet, there’s something that draws Stig to Ryder. At first it’s just concern for Ryder’s safety, but it grows into much more without either one of them realizing it.

At first glance, it’s obvious that Ryder is broken, both physically and emotionally. What shouldn’t have surprised me was that Stig was broken in his own way. He hid it well… until he couldn’t, especially from Ryder. They were there for each other when no one else was.

Things aren’t easy between Ryder and Stig, but given where they both were emotionally, it shouldn’t have been. Stig made some bad choices. At least one of his decisions trying to keep Ryder safe was heart breaking, but I couldn’t get mad at him for it. The thing is that his actions were tearing him apart almost as much as they did Ryder. Those chapters were hard to read, but they made me fall in love with him even more.

There was a lot to love about Found at the Bookstore and not just Ryder and Stig. Spending time with Tommy and Max was great and there were a couple of new characters introduced that I’m really hoping readers get to know better. Their stories are just begging to be told and I may or may not have already hinted to the author about the need for this to happen. You’re welcome ❤

A recurring theme in this series so far has been art. Those who both create it and appreciate it. It’s also a series full of characters who are continually proving that “Doing Epic Sh*t” isn’t just an engraved statement on keepsake – which is just another reason why I recommend reading both books in this series.

I received Found at the Bookstore in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I love the way Christi Snow writes! She brings characters to life that you just fall in love with. I fell in love with Ryder after reading Found at the Library and was thrilled to see him get his own book. Ryder and Stig are both broken souls, each for their own reasons. To watch their story unfold was amazing. I loved this book!

All in all, this was a nice enough read.

What I liked:

- the characters
- the description of the art and the artistic process involved in making it

What I didn't like

- First of all, this was again a book where everyone (even side characters, etc.) was gorgeous beyond belief. Why? Can not-gorgeous people not have happy ends, too? (-> See also last point here.)

- While the writing style was easy to read, it seemed a little stilted and somewhat inappropriate at times (Stig sometimes, but inconsistently so, talks more like a guy in his 50s than his 30s; the characters' words when they speak generally seemed a little off - you might use some of these words and sentence structures when you give a talk, but during spontaneous conversations? Nope, don't think so. The thrown-in swear words were probably intended to casualize the speech patterns, but that didn't really work that well.)

- The book was too long. Definitely too long. I mean, the romance was basically a speed of light thing (we go from zero to 180 in a couple of weeks here), but boy did it take a lot of pages to get there. For some reason, the author felt the need to write almost everything out in detail (from the wedding of another couple, okay, the MCs of the first book in the series, but even so too much detail!, to medical details and explanations that should maybe have been glossed over instead - I'm not a medical doctor, but I do have a PhD in neuroscience and what I know about the brain sort of rebelled against the detailed descriptions of the medical staff in this story. I'm not dissing the author (too much) here, but if you're not an expert in a field as complex as this, maybe... you know... just focus on the bigger picture and don't lose yourself in questionable details?)

- The book got pretty mushy pretty fast (in the MC timeline, not in book pages), and it got MUSHY mushy. As in rainbow colored kittens mushy.

- And finally, it kind of niggled at me that Ryder had to be - sometimes this feels as if only perfect people can have their happy ends, you know? Which is a kind of bad message to send out there.

I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed an entire series at once, but since I binge read the four books in Ms. Snow’s series, it’s hard to think of them separately. I imagine they would be perfectly okay as stand-alone stories, but the connections that develop as these four books progress made it a complete pleasure to do absolutely nothing but read for the past week.

I bought FOUND AT THE LIBRARY a couple of years ago, started the book and then had to set it aside to finish my own. The problem with reading Kindle books on my iPhone is that if I don’t go back to a book, it slides off the screen and gets lost in my horribly disorganized mental filing cabinet. Luckily, I saw FOUND AT THE BOOKSTORE recently on BookBub, and since I’ve had such amazing luck finding new-to-me authors on BookBub, I ordered it, sat down and started reading. And I didn’t get anything else done for the next two days. But I had a niggling sensation that I’d read the first book before, so I dug through my Kindle files and found FOUND AT THE LIBRARY. I’d read about 10% of the book, so I went back to the beginning and loved every page.

Of course, then I had to read FOUND AT THE BOOKSTORE again, and I enjoyed it even more with the background on Tommy and Mac, and starting with what little I knew about Ryder and Stig. One thing that impressed me was the way Ms. Snow handled Ryder's traumatic brain injury. I've kept a website for many years for a young man with a TBI, and at one time they tried prismatic glasses to see if they would help. His injury, though, is much too severe to find an HEA, so it was really wonderful to read Ryder's story. It touched me personally, and for that I am truly thankful.

By the time I finished the second book (for the second time) I went online and ordered FOUND AT THE JAZZ CLUB and FOUND AT THE ROCK CONCERT. Needless to say, my WIP has been gathering dust, and I’m fighting a strong desire to go back and reread the entire series again. Every. Single. Character this author creates is real. I’ve been going back and rereading favorite lines and scenes, and that’s only because I’m just not ready to let any of them go. If you haven’t read this series, you’re missing some of the sweetest, sexiest love stories ever, with wonderful heroes (and a heroine as well) and really wonderful settings.

To Christi Snow, you have a fan. I’m going to start working my way through your books, but in the meantime, thank you for a full week of absolute reader-heaven. Unfortunately, grim reality intrudes once again, and it’s time to get back to the WIP.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

Found at the Bookstore is the second book in Christi Snow’s Found series. I really enjoyed the first book and was happy to see this second installment. The first story features Mac and Tommy and their path to love, and this one follows up with two side characters that we meet in that book. Stig is Mac’s friend and former boyfriend, and Ryder is Tommy’s brother who goes through some major mental health issues in that first story. Although you could read this one plot-wise without being familiar with the other book, Tommy and Mac’s wedding plays a big role here, so I think you would appreciate this book more having read their story.

So I liked the set up here as I enjoy the age gap dynamic and I liked the idea of the bad boy set up with the more inexperienced man. I think this story handles these issues well, as Ryder does question his feelings a bit at first as he has never before had an interest in men, but at the same time, he quickly moves on to acceptance as he realizes his feelings for Stig. These guys are sexy together and I like the fact that they both are doting and clearly want to take care of each other. Early on they are a bit too much in each other’s business considering they are basically strangers, but I did appreciate that these guys both place a priority on taking care of one another and are generally good guys. I also enjoyed the focus on Ryder as an artist and Stig as a gallery owner and I think Snow incorporates this interest into the story really nicely.

I loved this emotional roller coaster of a book!

Absolutely loved this book. It’s the second in a series and you really should read book one first to fully appreciate the characters in this book.

Ryder is recovering from a TBI that has completely upended his life and the drastic steps he has taken as a result. Stig is an older, emotionally damaged art gallery owner with connections to Ryder’s brother and his husband. Their chance encounter and the serious event that activates Stig’s protective qualities start them on an emotional journey.

I really enjoyed the author’s ability to convey the myriad emotions here and not only not come off as judgmental but engender empathy for two very damaged men. You want to root for both of them so hard, especially as each is fighting the attraction for different reasons.

The big crisis moment that deals with one part of the story arc wraps up too quickly for me and I wish we’d seen more of the aftermath. It’s function was as more of a plot device but I still needed more closure.

The ending is sweet but again, I wish there had been more depth. I can’t really say more without spoilers. Nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
