This is the second book in the Bound to the Bad Boy series!
Bruno:
They stole her from me. I killed to keep her safe so that we can build a life together.
Now I'm rotting in prison. But these bars can't hold me. Not when Serena is on the other side of them. I'll tear down the walls with my bare hands, crush the skull of anyone who gets in my way until she's mine again.
Serena:
I thought our pain was behind us. How am I going to survive without him? Because I have a bad feeling that this is going to get a whole lot more dangerous very soon.

Second time to write this review.. hopefully it doesn't disappear again. This is the second book in the Killer trilogy and boy was it a good one!! So good that at the end of the book I wanted to throw my tablet and yell at the author for ending it that way but at least the last book is ready to read now. At the end of book one Luca was arrested by the crooked cop so this book started two years later and he is still in prison on a 10 years sentence. All Luca does is work out and try to keep to himself. Serena after a bit of a deep depression throws herself into her store. Trying to figure out how to hang on for another 8 years. Luca gets word from a friend that Serena is being watched so he comes up with a plan and escapes prison. For a while they go away but he gets a call that he must return to the city. Everything seems to be going well for them (a lot of surprises) and then it all comes tumbling down. The question is what is going on and who is behind what? Is it the mob that Luca works for or the one who is trying to take over that mobs territory? Too many questions and lot's of mystery and suspense. Now that I'm calmed down for that ending time for the last book.
This book picks up two years after the end of Bound for Life. First off, I was so, so happy to finally get Bruno and Serena's backstory of how they met when they were teenagers, how their young relationship progressed and what exactly happened on the night that changed their lives forever. With that being said, all the backstory that the reader needed catching up on, literally took up the first third of the book. I personally think things would've flowed better if the backstory was split up between the first and second books.
Overall, I really enjoyed the action/ suspense scenes with the creative locations. The intimate scenes between Bruno and Serena were even hotter than the ones in the first book! Unfortunately, if it wasn't an action scene or a sex scene, things seemed a bit too unsuspenseful and were hard for me to get through. For instance, the cabin stay seemed to be a bit drawn out to where I was eager for them to make a move towards the resolution of the conflict. Similar to the first book, there were some things in this book that didn't really scream 'mafia' to me. For example, That ending though definitely kept me on my toes! Did not see that coming! 🤯
Favorite Quotes: Words are so useless in times like this. Our love is too big to fit in a sequence of letters and syllables. -Serena
"But from the very first moment I laid eyes on you, I knew there could be no greater dream to reach for than to make you mine. -Bruno
Welcome to the second story written by master of mafia books Alexis Abbott. You do need to read the first story in this trilogy as it will explain many things but I must say once these three stories are out together, it will be the ultimate masterpiece.
This is the second story in a complex, in depth, action packed story of romance and the mafia. The relationship of Serena and Bruno is continued in this story. It will make you a bit angry, frustrated, sigh, and make your heart race. This story focuses on the development of their relationship and the years previous to the first story. The story is intense at times but written so beautifully that I did not notice the hours pass as I was pulled into the story.
The story starts out with the characters being in their teens, and focuses on from there to their current situation. Without giving you a recap of the story (as other reviewers have already done that), I will say that there is a complex story with interesting characters, plot twists, steamy scenes, and great character development. I have read the fist, enjoyed the second story and am looking forward to reading the ending. I will say, once these are all published I will re-read them in one long day so that I can get the full effect of the story without the dreaded wait in-between. Definitely with the read. It was a pleasure to receive an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
The story continues between Bruno & Serena after Alexis Abbott left us in a doozy of a cliffhanger from the first book. In the continuation we get a glimpse into their past, how they first met and what Bruno did to save Serena...if that's not true love especially after what happens when Bruno get arrested, then I give up. Bruno is now in jail and after 2 years in he finally makes his move while Serena on the outside keeps it going, waiting for him, getting stronger, writing to him everyday, while staying true to him. This read hit me as hard as the first one did and I didn't believe this one could be as good as the first...I was wrong, it was better. The steamy, melting, tingling scenes along with the relationship these two have, sticking by each other, being true, faithful & honest, no others coming between them and working together to be able to be together.....couldn't have been written better and I wouldn't want it any other way after all these two have been through. CAN'T CAN'T wait for their conclusion as this author leaves us in another doozy of a cliffhanger. *I voluntarily reveiwed an ARC of this book*
**SIGHS ( slams kindle down) throws a pillow at husband while saying " well isn't that just a F@#$*^ spectacular" - he and rest of family slowly back out of room sending telepathic messages to one another < shhh, and no quick, sudden movements, mom's not in her right mind she has just gotten to the cliffhanger > **
Well, once again Alexis Abbott and her mob men tale had me all intertwined in the complicated lives of Burno and Serena. The second book in this amazing yet seemingly frustrating *winks* series of books gave great insight into Serena's past, as well as Burno's. More in-depth understanding of how they came to meet in their early years and of course, the continuation of the first book. OH. YES. THIS. What a fast-paced, too hot to handle sinfully delectable reunion, with a suspenseful intensity that is unique to Alexis Abbott style. With a love story of epic proportions wrapped up in the very sophisticated mob world that made for a book I didn't want to put down, and can, I suppose live with the fact it ends in that stellar cliffy! < clears throat > I know all this angst will be worth it all once the third book is in my hands! I look forward to that! This book, and the first one Bound For Life Definite #OneClick material
This book fills in the gaps that were missing from the first book.
Fantastic characters, well described environments, great dialogue, and an absorbing plot.
Part #2 picks up the story 2 years after the events of part #1. The story jumps into the action fairly quickly. The developments involving the Cleaners, the Costas and the dirty cops start spiraling out of control. No one is safe but some trusted friends are back to help out.
The story is really good but once again, ends in a major cliffhanger. These books must be read in order as they are not a trilogy but a three part story. So if you can stand the suspense until book 3 comes out - grab it and enjoy.
I received a copy from the author and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
After Bruno goes to prison, Serena will eventually get her act together and make her small business a success. Even though he is in prison, Bruno finds out that the corrupt detective who put him behind bars, is once again threatening Serena. With the help of his friend, Bruno makes a plan that will not only protect Serena, it will eliminate Detective Price's threat. Serena and Bruno are complex, sexy, fascinating characters, and this book takes a look back and gives a more in depth narrative of the beginning of their relationship when they were just teenagers. Sizzling hot, exciting, action packed with some suspenseful and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is the second book of a fantastic series and I look forward to the next book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Great addition to this series! This is an action packed read with loads of drama and suspense. It can be read as a stand-alone however I do recommend the first book as well. After finding each other again Bruno and Serena are separated when Bruno is sent to prison. After two years he can’t take it any longer and escapes and reunites with Serena. There is a dirty cop who is still out to get him and wants him back in prison. Will Serena and Bruno find a way stay together or be torn apart. I was on the edge of my seat. Great chemistry and a great story.
copy received for honest review Bruno and Serena part II. This story picks up 2 years after the first story. It was hard to believe the scenario of the breakout, the dirty police and all that action was kept silent. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story. We get more alone time with Bruno and Serena and learn some background information that help us know them a little better. Both how they met, and how Bruno gets pulled into the mafia are revealed. Friends are still there to help out and enemies are there to cause trouble. Like the first book, this book will pull out a mixed bag of emotions. And also like the first book, this one leaves you with a major cliffhanger. Looking forward to the last chapter of Bruno and Serena.
Bound To The Mafia is a fantastic 4.5 star read and is book two in the series. (Can i have book 3 now please as I need the final instalment like I need air to breathe) This is a fantastic action packed, hold on to your seats kind of novel that really gets you hooked and wanting to know what happens next. This book is set 2 years from where book 1 ended,it also gives you more insight from when Bruno and Serena first met 7 years ago and gives us the details of what happened to set them both on their paths. I absolutely loved this book and the storyline kept me highly entertained and turning those kindle pages needing to know what happens next and omg what a fantastic cliffhanger. That one had me screaming at my kindle and it couldn't have been a better ending to part 2 and it really wet my appetite in anticipation for book 3. Im glad I don't have to wait too long for book 3. I highly recommend you read Bound to the Mafia as soon as you can and get reminded why the fabulous Alexis Abbott is the Queen of mafia books. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Bound to the Mafia (Bound to the Bad Boy Book 2) by Alexis Abbott is a good read. A very intense and highly emotional storyline. Complex characters share a sizzling chemistry and a powerful and steamy passion. Story started in book #1 and will continue in book #3. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
First of all, it is essential to read this series in order as it's a continuing story...
At the end of book one, Luca gets arrested and is carted off by the policy. This story starts two years later, Luca is in prison serving a 10 year sentence and Serena is so depressed assuming it will be forever before she sees Luca again.
Luca then comes up with a way to break out of prison, get together with Lucy and we are off and running. They are able to sneak off to a cabin that Lucy and her parents used to stay in each year and everything is looking good. Of course, since this book ends in a cliffhanger, I knew things had to change and they really did.
I really enjoyed this book and will get to the next one shortly.
Bruno and Serena are back. I love these two and their love for each other. Not sure if this is considered a spoiler or not but be prepared for the ending. Not sure how Alexis Abbott is going to fix this or if she plans too. Alexis Abbott does a good job of bringing into the lives of Bruno and Serena and how they love each other. This is full of action, hot sex and suspense. If a fan of Bound for Life then in my opinion Alexis Abbott did a pretty good job of continuing the series. Bruno has become stronger physically, mentally and more protective. Serena has become stronger mentally and she is not putting up with Bruno keeping her in the dark. She wants them to work as a team. I love that Bruno is the alpha but knows when he needs to listen to Serena and he can't deny her. I love that Serena knows what she wants and will take nothing less. I felt Bound to the Mafia was more of a setup for the third book Bound in Love, this is not necessarily a bad thing. In my opinion Alexis Abbott is one of the best at writing the bad boy and the woman that love them. I was given an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
Bound to the Mafia is the second book in the Bound to the Bad Boy Series by the Queen of bad boys, Alexis Abbott. Ms. Abbott has written an unbelievably fast-paced romance story with a great mix of action, angst, suspense, danger, corruption, some violence, hot sex, and a shocking cliffhanger.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I loved this darker story of Bruno & Serena. This series keeps getting better & better...can't wait for the next book!!!
This is the second book in the Bound to the Bad Boy series and begins with a detailed account of the sort of life Serena led, how she initially came to know Bruno, and how their lives have interacted since.
Serena is 16-years old and the world is full of potential at every turn, but meeting Bruno throws Serena for a loop; she cannot believe she is sharing so much with a complete stranger. Bruno is 17-years old, a carpenter moonlighting as a murderer; they couldn’t be living more different lives. But the Mafia has a strategy to lure Bruno in and it soon becomes clear that Serena is nothing more than a pawn in their plan. This was never about Serena; they used her to get to Bruno and it worked.
For the past 2-years Bruno has been in Prison. Bruno accepted his punishment to keep Serena safe, that was the deal; he had stepped back into her life only to get snatched away again. Just when they thought they would be together, and when things were going right, everybody and everything conspired to keep them apart. Bruno cannot blame himself for what’s happened, but he can blame someone, Detective Price. Now they were going after Serena, so Bruno has no alternative but to enact an elaborate plan to break out of jail. Serena has been heartbroken for so long, putting her life on hold, but now it was time to get back to turning her failing business into a success. Under the guise of a kidnapping Serena is reunited with Bruno and he lets her know he never intends to leave her again. The two spend time together in a remote cabin near Ithaca, reminiscing about their childhood, life in general and the calculated risks Bruno takes; even so they agree there will be no more secrets between them and it is time to make new memories. They were having a good time out in the middle of nowhere; way more fun than you would expect from two people hiding from the Authorities. Just as the two are contemplating new identities, there is a change of plan when Bruno’s Uncle Carlo becomes a target. The Cleaners were getting bolder and the cops were making it easy with Detective Price’s involvement in organised crime. But whatever is going on between Detective Price and Bruno it is personal and it is now time to find out why? The story ends on quite an exceptional cliff-hanger, so the final instalment is eagerly awaited. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Serena DeLaurentis may be concerned about her father but that doesn’t stop her love of shoes. Bruno Lomaglio has gone through a lot to show his love for Serena but she doesn’t even know it. This is a story where the children must pay for the sins of the father. And life where the mafia is concerned isn’t always on the up and up.
The price our couple has to pay is a little hard to read. So if you’re overly sensitive consider this a warning. Those willing to take the chance Serena and Bruno aren’t children but teenagers just short of adulthood. But because of their circumstances they must act as adults – a hard way to grow up. Don’t expect a lot of hearts and flowers. There’s also some pain and sorrow. On the other side of the coin, you can expect that Bruno and Selena’s tale to be romantic and more. Expect a lot of action with plenty of twists and turns. The author has a great way with words because I had no trouble envisioning as each scene unfolds.
The author recommends reading Bound For Life first but I didn’t feel lost by not reading it. But if the author recommends something I usually listen because who better to know the series than the author themselves. Don’t expect a happy ending but a cliffhanger. So I can’t say that it’s not the perfect ending because it gets you ready for Bound In Love. And I cannot wait but I’ll have to be patient because it doesn’t come out until December – plenty of time to read Bound For Life.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Bound To The Mafia is the second book of the series. As Bound For Life (book1) ends in a cliffhanger, I was sure this second book would continue, but we get some backstory of how Serena De Laurentis and Bruno Lomaglio meet as teens. The attraction is undeniable between them, and also we’re filled in on that horrible event that would ever mark Bruno and Serena’s ties to the Mafia. The plot is suspenseful and Bruno and Serena are strong together, but I felt there were too many sex scenes. I actually flipped through most. OMG! Did I just say that? Love my sexy goodness, but I was overwhelmed. I was amazed at one inconsistency, and perhaps I’m wrong. I know Bruno was seriously hurt while escaping, though there is no mention of his healing. That left me scratching my head in confusion as he continued to have awesome sex without missing a beat.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved this book and enjoyed the journey, and it does end in a doozy of a cliffhanger. Ms. Abbott does a wonderful job with lots of descriptive, action packed mafia scenes. I’m really looking forward to Bruno and Serena getting their HEA.
I received an voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Bound to the Mafia is the second book in the story of Bruno & Serena. While the uber talented Alexis Abbott had been hash tagged #EVILWHORE by me from the insane cliffhanger she left me with previously, I can't argue that she's brilliant. Not only was this a fantastic continuation, but she gave us many glimpses into their past, while keeping the story rolling. I'm not going to give more details away, as this one blew my emotions sky high, and I don't want to show any spoiler douchery for others. Especially since I want everyone to experience this crazy journey for themselves without any help from the peanut gallery. Between the intense angst, blasts from the past, the romance, fiery flames of sexy times, and the twists & turns around every corner that left me dropping loud f-bombs, well it couldn't be any better. Although, I'm once again grumpy, or maybe just straight up pissed, about another doozie of an ending that has me hanging off the side of a cliff, so trust me when I say that it will be very hard to not send threats as I'm so far addicted that I may or may not need a 12 step program. Needless to say, I will be waiting impatiently for the final book in this epic trilogy, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I am so glad we don’t have to wait long for book 3! Just like bound for life, Bound to the Mafia was amazing! This book cleared up so many questions from book 1! I finally had some answered as to the past between Serena and Bruno. I was so happy to see that it detailed how they met just as teenagers. I loved how it would even jump back to 7 years ago and we got an actual glimpse into the past. Everything felt so real, and made the present make even more sense. With Bruno locked away in prison, Serena is forced to continue to live life. That is until word gets out that Serena may not be safe again! But what can Bruno do from the confines of a prison cell. I have to say, I was a little shocked that the entire time Bruno and Serena were on the run, no one noticed them or came looking for them. I kept predicting what would happen next, but it would either never come, or something completely different would happen! I was so excited to see that Bruno and Serena would finally get a chance at a life together, but then I should have known better! Since book 3 is coming, good things can only last for so long! And boom..just when things are going great something terrible must happen. Thank goodness the next book will be out soon, because this cliff hanger is a tough one!
After reading the first book, and how that one ended, I couldn’t wait to get started on the second story and continue following Serena and Bruno. I loved it. It was a rollercoaster of emotions with a little hot and steamy scenes between those two. I loved how the story included flashbacks from all those years ago. I loved how sweet Bruno was to Serena even then, loved knowing how they first met back then and getting the answers to the questions I had from reading book 1. I loved their interactions and how strong Bruno and Serena were for each other. I loved the dark side of Bruno’s when he showed it and the sweet and caring side of him when he was with her. I liked Serena a lot more in this one compared to the previous book, I loved how much she grew. Although I felt there were a couple times where the story did jump forward a little, it was still a very enjoyable read and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the third and final book (especially after that ending!) 4.5 stars
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
In this second book of the series, we travel back 7 years at the beginning, seeing what Serena's life was like when she first met and knew Bruno. We find out more about her father and what happened to him. We see her inquisitive side showing up, the good girl that she is, and how things went for her after what happened to her father. It was really fun seeing how Bruno met Serena for the first time and his remembered quote from book one, how it comes about. When cops in the Cleaner's pockets take Bruno off. Where does he end up? What happens? How long is he gone? What happens when Serena is taken one day when she goes out for a breather? Where does Serena end up at? What happens? What happened at the end of the book was not something I expected. Be prepared for a lot of sexual escapades. This book makes me look forward to book 3 in this series.
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
As always an amazing read by Alexis Abbott. She has a way writing her stories that is captivating from start to finish. I like this story and plot. It has twists and turns in it that I did not suspect. The chemistry between the characters are over the top. Life is not easy on Burno and Serena but I like the fight. They develop well and are nicely described. I am a favorite of dual POV because it gives the reader the thoughts and feelings of both main characters and thereby we have a new aspect of the story. This story has drama, action, mob, passion, hot scenes, suspence and emotional ups and downs. I like it as much as the first book in this serie. I could not put it down and had to read it in one sitting. I liked very much that this book was intertwined with the previous book. You have to have read the first before this one. I cannot wait for Bound to Love and to see, what all this ends with. Hopefully HEA.
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Exciting, and steamy! I absolutely love this series, but it needs to come with the following warning: Once, you start it, there is a good chance that you will not sleep, or get anything done, until you are finished. This is book 2 in the series. In this book, you find out so much background information on both Bruno and Serena. It goes back to when Serena was 16 years old and Bruno was 17. I really liked this. After Book 1 ended in a big cliffhanger, I was so excited to start this book, and it definitely lived up to my high expectations. First, this book is so steamy hot. Wow, I need a fan. Second, there is so much suspense. You can't help but to keep turning those pages to see what is going to happen next. Then, you get to the end. There is another big cliffhanger. Of course, there is. After calling Alexis Abbott a few choice names, I am really looking forward to the next one. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy.
This was a good read. It is the second book in the trilogy so you definitely need to read the first. This was picks up after time has passed but you won't have all the details needed if you haven't read the first book. I want to say that close to half the book is spent on Bruno and Serena's past together. It all starts when they were teenagers and meet for the first time and then we get up to what happened that fateful night that separated them. For close to half the book Bruno and Serena are not physically together and have little contact. The story line is good and interesting. There were a few things at times that didn't quite feel realistic (to the character) for me, but they tended to be details that didn't affect the rest of the story too much. The sex is explicit and fairly frequent (longer scenes). You also get some action and intrigue with this story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series, and the first book needs to be read first. After the cliffy at the end of #1, I could not wait to get my hands on this novel. This is the continuation of Bruno and Serena’s story, and gives a more in-depth knowledge of both of their pasts, and how their lives became so intertwined. Bruno has been in prison for 2 years, and knowing that Serena is in serious danger, he plots an elaborate plan of escape. No spoilers; this is an absolute must read, you will not be disappointed! This author has written an amazing storyline which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. This story is fast paced, with drama, suspense, action and love, and I was on tenterhooks throughout. After another cliffy, I cannot wait to get my hands on #3 of this series. Brilliant work Alexis as always!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book!
Bound to the Mafia is the second installment in Alexis Abbott's Bound to the Bad Boy trilogy. The book continues on with Bruno and Serena's story and you get a more in depth look into their pasts and how they came to meet. The author does an excellent job of tying up the loose ends and questions that I had about Bruno & Serena at the end of book one. I love the deep connection that Bruno and Serena share and that their love remains strong even in the face of adversity. They do not allow anyone or anything to come between them even when things seem hopeless. The plot is intense and full on intrigue and suspense and is very emotional and heartbreaking at times. It is action packed toward the end and does end on a cliffhanger. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Ohhh i NEED book three, right now! This book was awesome! This story carries on two years after book one ended, it also lets you know more about Bruno and Serena's past. From page one you are hooked. You really need to read book one to understand what is going on fully. If you haven't read book one yet, RUN - go one click it, one click this while you are here and get ready to one click book 3 when it comes out, you wont be sorry at all!
Yes it ends in a cliffhanger - usually i hate cliffhangers, but Alexis is an amazing author so i knew i wouldnt have to wait long and it would be worth it. What a cliffhanger you are left with here! I was flick, flick, flicking the pages on my Kindle trying to read more and getting no where while shouting "Nooooooo i need more!" I cant wait for book 3 - and i HIGHLY recommend this series!
I'm rating this book a 4.5 star only because it wasn't as exciting as the first book but filled in a lot of the gaps from the first book. I absolutely LOVED the first book. Left me panting for more. This book started to get really good a little over half way through so it made it to my .5 status. There is a lot of history being told in this book. It was nice to know how they met and so on but had just a smidge of drag at one point that i was like huh? Not like this author to not grab me from the first page but after reading it I understand what went on better. I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out. This series is suppose to be a 3 book installment so the first and second book do end in cliifhanger so be prepared but if you get all 3 at once it would be perfect.
