A great introduction to neuroscience and offers up a preview of different neuro topics to familiarize yourself with. I would say that sometimes, the authors uses terms without first defining them, and so without an understanding of neuroscience, it may be difficult to follow. But for the most part, topics are explained simply enough.

If you have a background in neuroscience, this is a decent enough refresher, though it hardly goes into the requisite details. If you don't already have a background, you may find whatever details there are to be too much, depending on what you are looking for. All in all, this was a good refresher as I delve back into neuroscience more for the rest of the year and beyond.

A little on the technical side with all the medical terms for the various areas of the brain but the author does a good job of explaining the mechanisms of the various functions and which areas are responsible for various functions (or non-functions in the cases of brain trauma).

Not an easy read but worth the effort if you have an interest in the brain.

Really fascinating book about the 🧠.

It was quite an easy read. I wouldn’t have expected so considering the brain is quite a complex thing to write about. I enjoyed how everything was beautiful sectioned out and with figures/pictures for visual context.

I recommend the book if it is something you’re interested in.

This is a lot of information thrown at you. This would be a good pairing with a neuro textbook to help break down sections of the brain.

A concise introduction to the brain and elementary neurochemical principles. Affordable and available in contemporary bookstore. A good desk reference if a refresher is needed
