I adored this reimagining of 'Snow White'.

Simone Leigh is demonstrating her full writing talent, giving us not only an original take on the plot we know so well, but creating an atmosphere deeply sinister, as befits the true spirit of these old tales.

Her use of prose is gorgeous. It's the sort of storytelling I want to bathe in!

Highly recommended - and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

My standing ovation to Ms. Leigh.

A breathless retelling of Snow White which simply twists slightly from the original Queen's longing for a child, to her doing something about it. Told in a spare fashion, this is the heart of Grimm's Little Snow White, with a very slight perspective shift. What I loved is that, as in the original, Snow saves herself. Which is the point of the story in the first place.

Whereas the first one was deeply mythological and sensual, this one...isn't.
