Minimalism is all anyone is talking about, right? At least, it seems that way to you because the topic keeps drawing you in. You want to know what it is and how people can live without anything, but a few outfits and enjoy life.
You are going to learn what minimalism is. You will see that our perception of minimalism has been crafted from fiction books and their emphasis on extreme minimalists. We’ll present easy steps to show you how you can become a true minimalist without giving up everything you love.
Minimalism is about the making proper choices to have a freer, happier life. Only you can choose what will make you happier.
At the end of the book, you will have 10 tips to take with you, to refer to, and to use as your pathway to a minimalist lifestyle that brings you happiness and freedom. It is possible to be free from worry, stress, and fear as long as you are willing to address issues such
Start now, gain a free life with more happiness, and have less focus on materialistic things.
Picture this. You’ve spent a lovely night sitting by the fireplace, enjoying a big cup of cocoa, while catching up with your loved ones. You’re totally in the moment and find yourself thinking, “This is indeed one of the greatest pleasures of life.” Cut to another scenario, you have just got out of bed of a chilly wintery morning, lit a scented candled in the room, wrapped yourself in a cozy blanket, and spent the day reading your favorite book. Again the familiar “pleasures of life” feeling. Think about a particularly stormy night that you spent indoors, enjoying a round of warm drinks and snacks, while discussing interesting current events with a bunch of friends. What’s all this about? This is exactly what hygge is in simple words. Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is gaining global recognition as a happiness, togetherness, and wellness concept (The New Yorker featured an entire piece titled, “The Year of Hygge, The Danish Obsession with Getting Cozy”). This book will explore Hygge and teach you all you need to know in order to incorporate some of its principles into your life to create a feeling of peace, joy and happiness... every day.
This was such a simple and good book Good basics to understand minimalism although it was kinda exaggerated at some points but i love how it describe minimalism as if something " or someone as i think " doesn't add value to your life get rid of it , and understanding what is enough for you .
For the hyggr part it was my first time hearing about it , but it was absolutely heart warming and fun to read .
hee-ge " to take something completely ordinary and make it extraordinarily " .
The minimalism section of the book was essentially throw away, but has some small good advice if you are completely new to the concept. The Hygge portion was worth skimming. The lack of an editor was very apparent. I recommend finding the source material or reading the popular articles about Hygge from the NY time and others rather than buying this book.
Fairly skimmable book, the information on minimalism was clear and simply put, but there wasn't much insight. The writing style wasn't very captivating and as someone who has read a lot of books on minimal living lately, non of the information in this book was new or very original. The Hygge part of the book was a bit better, but this might be because I haven't read as much on the topic.
This was my first Minimalist book, and I found it to contain basic information on minimalism, good advise was so small it was hard to sport around a sea of oversimplified information. The second part of the book was a brand new concept for me, yet what was written in so many pages could be easily condensed into one.
This is undoubtedly the worst book I have ever read. It effectively is just a list of things the author thinks is hygge but it just comes across incredibly ignorant and bland. Until I read this book I had no idea it was possible for yt people to ignorantly and blatantly appropriate other yt people’s culture….and Im British 😒
I think the cover photo is appropriate considering it is like a coffee talk~ I really enjoyed this book. Honestly never heard of hygge, I loved many ideas and concepts of this way of life~ and look forward to using them in my daily life.
I find this book by chance. I've never heard about hygge and this is my very first time to know what is hygge. Even though i don't really like the minimalist topics (i mean, i can find about minimalism way more complete on other book) but i find this book brought me something new (hygge).
I'm surprised everyone else rated this book so poorly. I found it light, relaxing and helpful to listen to during my commute to work or while working on projects at the office. This book felt like a big warm hug to me! It was lovely.
I really enjoyed the things that I learned and feel inspired to start a Minimalist and hygge lifestyle...however, the glaring typos, errors, and the obvious fact that this was not proofread is distracting.
So I’ve been binging on reading almost every book I can get my hands on about minimalism... so when it said ‘2 books in’ - although well versed in minimalism thinking ... this sounded intriguing as it said “hygge”
The first part (minimalism) was awful! Nothing groundbreaking and stuff covered vaguely and worse added pointless un-related bias waffle about diet, budget and even travel advice! (Less than 1 star rating at best )
Second part (hygge) was far better, hence me giving this book a 3 stars rating in the end...
The “Hygge” idea was new to me, but learning about it for the first time in this book made it sound right up my street and level of thinking!
So I thank this book for starting my journey into bing reading/learning about Hygge now ...because its concept is as exciting as my new found love for minimalism lately l👍🏽

Listened to the audiobook version. The first book wasn't really all that enjoyable to read -- a prescriptive and oversimplified presentation of the subject matter -- but the second book on hygge was far more insightful and pleasurable to read.
