Anna Santos is a USA Today Bestselling Author who likes to write about shifters, vampires, angels, mermaids, fae, and occasionally humans.
Anna always keeps her readers on their toes with adrenaline-fuelled adventures, genuine characters, strong female leads, and romantic plots.
When she’s not writing, she’s probably reading or spending too watching TV shows. As an introvert, home is her safe harbor. Yet, she’s known for leaving the house from time to time and having her family throw a party because they haven’t seen her for days. Then they ask her how many books she wrote while gone, assuming that writing must be super easy.
Anna guarantees that it’s not, but she never wanted to be anything else. Unless there’s a possibility of being a powerful supernatural being in an awesome world where unicorns and fairies are real. Then, she would probably go there and never come back.
I got suckered in by the cover and the sappy angle (i.e. heroine will do anything to protect her younger brother). For me, this was a b-movie book ---- in other words, it was a train wreck of a story and I really shouldn't have bothered wasting my time or money on it. Sorry for being harsh.
Here's why I DNF'd this:
Jade, the heroine, proclaims to hate hate H-A-T-E vampires but yet after 3 to 4 hot make-out sessions she somehow ends up being the hero, Daniel's, beloved/bride. The first third of the book was all: "I do not like vampires! Keep away from me! I want to go home." Then after he kisses her passionately --- "Why are his lips so soft? Why is he so warm? I want him to kiss me again." *rolls eyes* I found her beyond annoying.
Daniel, the "absurdly rich and gorgeous" vampire, tries to come off as alpha in his jealousy/protectiveness but instead makes me think he's more of an insecure, caveman, douchebag of an asshole. AND he admits to being a jerk too. "Well, I tried to be nice and sweet. It didn't seem to work. So I'm being a jerk." (Or words to that effect.)
Whatever.
Furthermore, because a vampire reality dating show wasn't enough, we learn that Jade had a stalker vampire who killed all her friends, made life a living hell for Jade and her family so much so that they go into a witness-protection-type of program! Her best friend, Jenna, turns out to be her bodyguard assigned to her by the witness-protection-program. And Jade has no clue.
Wait, it gets worse.
A few chapters later, right after her and Daniel's wedding, Jade gets kidnapped by werewolves who have an underwater scientific lab. Yes an underwater lab! They stole a plane that can fly in the air and at the push of a button, turns into some sort of submarine. THEN, we find out that her father had experimented on her poor little brother --- playing with genetics because he wanted to find a way to cure vampires of not being able to go out into the daylight. Her kidnapper, the werewolf, turns out to be her father's partner and ....
Whatever. I just stopped reading at this point.
I know it's paranormal romance. I know it's about vampires --- so I know that I need to suspend disbelief to some extent BUT, come on, I expect the story to be good. For me, this was just absurd --- a hodge-podge of things meant to thrill and entertain but came off more like a juvenile bad movie.

Jade is talked into going to a reality show by her friend Jenna who is a bit of a ditz. The reality show is for vampires to pick humans that they will spend a week with and become the vampires pet. Jade doesn't even like vampires but her friend is really hoping to get picked so she goes there to give her friend support. Jade has a sick brother named Stevie who she takes care of ever since their parents died.
Daniel is the head vampire in charge of the vampire reality show. He spots Jade before the contestants are chosen and she has no idea who he is. It's pretty obvious that Jade doesn't even like vampires but that doesn't stop Daniel from picking her and since she signed a contract to get inside, she can't say no without having to pay a bunch of money.
Daniel believes that Jade is his beloved, his mate but she is so stubborn and scared of vampires that she won't believe anything he says to her but she doesn't mind when he kisses her even though she kept telling him to leave her alone or not touch her. He really doesn't take no for an answer which kinda irritated me. He could have won her over without being so pushy. But there's a reason that Jade is scared of and doesn't trust vampires and Daniel doesn't find out about what happened until later.
Even though Daniel is pushy at first, he ends up being a nice guy and Jade does finally realize that he's not like the other vampire she knew and starts to trust him a little more. It doesn't hurt that Jade is really attracted to him either. But there are two other girls on the reality show that Jade has to go against in order to win the game and be picked to be with Daniel. One of those girls ends up being Jenna, her best friend. The other is one of Daniel's ex's an she's not happy that Jade seems to be his favorite. There's a little drama that you would expect from a reality tv show but Daniel already knows who he wants to end up with.
Towards the end of the book, danger seems to pop up out of nowhere and Jade finds herself facing some troubling realities and family secrets. We find out that there's a whole lot more to Jenna than the ditzy persona that she shows to everyone and we get a sneak peek of what the next book might be about. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jenna will react when her mate comes sniffing around her.
His Beloved is a fated mates paranormal romance where much of the action takes place within the confines of a reality TV dating show. Overall, it was well written and entertaining.
The Opening
The conflict in the opening chapter is great. It’s clear that poor Jade doesn’t want to be there, and things just get progressively worse for her.
The Characters
From the opening paragraph, Jade is a sympathetic character because she’s allowing her best friend to drag her into something she hates to make her friend happy. As the story develops, Jade becomes ever more likable, especially as we see her interact with her little brother who is her ward.
There were a few elements of Jade’s character that could have been better foreshadowed. For example, on page 158 we discover a significant fact about Jade that was never mentioned earlier in the book that would have shed a different light on the events unfolding. It would have made her reluctance in earlier chapters more poignant and interesting.
Jenna is her best friend. I wish the author didn’t use so many names with the same first letter — Jade/Jenna, Dominic/Daniel, Stevie/Sakura/Sam. It can become confusing at times. For the first few chapters, I sometimes became confused between Jade and Jenna. I didn’t confuse Dominic and Daniel as much because Dominic doesn’t appear until much later in the story, but the potential for confusion is still there.
At first, I liked Jenna. However, revelations I cannot explain that occur toward the end of the book made me think differently about her. The later revelations, to my mind, make the events of the opening chapter implausible. Of course, the reader won’t know Jenna’s full story until the end of the book, and by then the opening chapter is long behind them, so the revelations shouldn’t destroy the suspension of disbelief. I must confess they did interrupt my immersion, but probably only because I was being analytical at the time.
When Daniel was first introduced, I understood he was famous and rich, but I didn’t get that he was an actual billionaire. This wasn’t stated until page 177. When it was first stated, it interrupted my immersion for a moment because it didn’t make sense. When I say it didn’t make sense, I’m referring to Daniel being caught in a contract in order to keep his “dad” happy. If he has so much money, he could simply give his dad more money than the profit his dad stands to make through the contract.
Stevie is by far my favorite character. I wish his mysterious illness was better developed. The fact that he’s going for medical treatment suggests it’s a known and understood disease, but it’s never mentioned what the disease is or how it impacts on his lifestyle. Despite being told within Jade’s thoughts that he is somehow fragile, he never acts fragile or in any way ill when we see him interacting with other characters.
I especially liked Stevie’s interaction with Sakura. With her frozen at 16, her chances of a successful relationship are low. However, she’s clearly fond of Stevie. I wondered if when he hits 21 in the distant future he might turn out to be her Beloved. That’s probably beyond the scope of this series since he’s currently only 5. But I’m not going to discount it, especially given the various important revelations about Stevie toward the end of the book.
The Plot
The main plot follows the fated mates trope within a dating game context. In Santos’ supernatural universe, vampire fated mates are called Beloveds. As is typical in this trope, the main conflict concerns Jade’s fear of vampires and inability to accept a mystical connection.
In the later portion of the book, a longer-reaching series wide plot is hinted at. This was much more interesting than the initial conflict.
After the first time Jade’s brother is seen, he disappears from the scene for several days. That felt out of character for Jade. I would have expected her to want to see Stevie every day.
In chapter 21 starting on page 173, Jade is asked questions. It would have been nice if we’d seen how she learned the answer to these questions. When she was asked them, I expected her to provide the wrong answers. An earlier conversation between her and Daniel that included some of the answers would have made this scene more plausible and interesting.
Similarly, on page 178 we learn something about Daniel and Dominic for the first time. It is clear that Jade already knows this fact about them, and Daniel must have told her. It would have made more sense if we’d heard Daniel tell her in conversation before page 178.
The revelation about Jenna on page 245 came as a complete shock to me. This shock was due to Jenna’s behavior in chapter 1. Her actions in chapter 1 are completely incompatible with the revelation in chapter 30.
I found the resolution most satisfying. The ending also provided an excellent hook for the next book in the series, making me want to read on.
The Setting
The settings are generally clear. I had no problems visualizing Daniel’s home or any of the other locations.
It’s not an important point, but I can’t let it go unmentioned. It’s relatively rare to spot the Aurora Borealis in Scotland. To see the Northern Lights, it’s much better to go to Iceland (which has low light pollution and is close to the Arctic Circle) or northern Norway (which is within the Arctic Circle). Or they could simply have traveled to northern Canada or Alaska.
An airplane does not have a GPS for location and air traffic control. It has a transponder.
The Prose
This story is well written. It is successfully shown rather than told.
There were two tiny typos in this novel. On page 186: “one of Emma’s agent came here” -> agents. On page 210 Dominic is spelled Dominique on one occasion.
My Opinion
Overall, I really enjoyed this vampire romance. I felt there were a few hiccups with foreshadowing but nothing too serious. I’m going to rate it as 8 out of 10, which translates to 4 out of 5 on Goodreads and Amazon.

Jade goes on a reality show and gets picked by Daniel. Daniel is a rich vampire and thinks that Jade is his beloved. Jade hates vampires and can't believe this is happening. She has to get back to her sick brother. What will she do to help her brother? Will she sacrifice herself? Can Daniel change her mind.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Let me say, this books wasn’t bad, just not great. Jade is 21 and goes to a club so her friend can be on a reality show to win a vampires heart. Jade hates vampires because of a bad history with one. Jade of course is picked a a contestant and lo and behold is the beloved soulmate of the vampire.
Jade is so hot and cold towards Daniel it get tiresome. She likes him and than insults him. She begs him to make love to her but says she doesn’t really like him. This goes on for 65% of the book
Next thing you know she is begging him to say he will never leave her and then they are married, all in a span of a week or so....
Jade gets kidnapped by good guys and defends them when her now husband comes to rescue her.
Jenna the slutty best friend is some secret hybrid bodyguard who helps with the rescue and Wham, finds her mate during the fight...blah.
It’s a cute read, but very immature and the hot and cold attitude is a higher turn off. Daniel came off as a wimp because he just let Jade belittle him and took it, than hopped in bed with her 3 seconds later.
I wanted to like this book but it started annoying me almost immediately. The hot and cold emotions, feelings, and actions made no sense and were really irritating. I could not like any of the main characters. Jade and Daniel would say and act one way, and in the next moment, they acted in a totally opposite one. Even Jenna was not the best friend she was supposed to be... why she would force Jade to be in the company of vampires when Jade had such a good reason to stay away is totally beyond my comprehension.
I forced myself to finish this one, but it really wasn't for me. I read this book through Kindle Unlimited.
This book wasy alright. I was won over by it in the end though. I liked the beginning of the book, but the middle just completely lost me. I don't even remember how it ended if I'm being completely honest. Our "heroine" was so unrelatable, in my opinion, and I didn't really care what happened to her once I got past the first 6 chapters. I like dher at first, but quickly lost interest. Same with our male MC. He was interesting at first, but then he was just so bland. I found this book to be very bland, but it was an ok read if you wanted to pass the time. I don't think I would ever come back to it, and I definitely won't be continuing the series.
Great read, it was even better than the 1St version I read on wattpad, I really luv n enjoyed wht new stuff the author added, I cldn't drop the book once I started as if I hav'nt read d book before as the story is mor well developed n the characters much more blended into each other with more twist, suspense, Romance n action. I can't wait to read mor abt Jenna n Alex's story.
It felt rushed and formulaic. Little character development, even for a paranormal romance, trite and just really unsatisfying. I wasn't expecting a classic by any means but this falls way short of being even a fun, light read.
Jade Sullivan is a human who takes care of her sick brother, Stevie. Her best friend, Jenna, convinces her to come out to a fancy nightclub where she could be chosen as part of a reality show to be “turned” or to spend a week with a vampire as his personal pet. The show has seven vampires, each one known for being a singer, an actor, or a famous socialite. Jade hates vampires and cannot believe she allowed herself to be convinced to do this, but Jenna was desperate to meet Seth, one of the vampires! They are so arrogant and rude!
As Jade tried to stay out of sight in a dark corner, a handsome man with blue eyes asked her to move, then leaned forward to ask why she smelled so good! Realizing he was a vampire, she did not appreciate being close to him. They were now selecting the humans for each contestant, with something special added in! The sponsor and owner of the nightclub was looking for someone as his beloved for all eternity, first spending a week with her and then he would “turn” her if he wanted her – and they were about to announce her name! The crowd cheered as the arrogant vampire, Daniel Wolfe, pointed right at Jade! He ignored her refusal to follow him to the limo, but she had signed a contract (without reading it, of course) when she entered the nightclub. Jenna would take care of Stevie for the week, so she had no excuses left.
Daniel moved closer to her in the limo and asked if she could feel the “pull” as he again mentioned her lovely scent. He was feeling protective of her and tried to find out why she hated vampires. When he finally kissed her, he took his time and she eventually was the one pulling him close. She hadn’t even noticed when the limo stopped and he told her to fix her hair and lipstick for the cameras outside. Once inside the mansion, he tried to tell her the truth she wouldn’t accept – she was his, his fated mate. He asked her to trust him for one week, and if she hadn’t fallen in love by then, he would let her go. How would she choose? Could she overcome her hatred of vampires and accept this one as her own?
This was a well-written book with a different look at vampires and their life among humans. There are some mysteries for the reader to uncover along the way, but even the story line of falling in love is addicting! Jade is bold and will tell Daniel how she feels, whether he likes it or not. If she can get over her anger, there may be a future waiting for her. Grab your copy and see if the vampire wins her heart!
Used to getting what he wants, Daniel Wolfe picks Jade out from the crowd of screaming females willing to do anything to pleasure him. He’s convinced that she’s the One, His Beloved, but he isn’t prepared for the feisty girl who loathes vampires. She will sacrifice anything to protect her orphaned little brother, but when Jade is forced to join a reality show, she has to survive hell and temptation to get the money to pay for her brother’s treatment. She only has to endure Daniel’s seductive games for a week but everything is not what it seems and despite her secret past, Jade may be facing a worse danger than being bitten…falling in love.
This first book in the ‘Mate’ series is quite an energetic and crazy whirlwind of a courtship…and by whirlwind, I mean chaos. The characters are strong and quite likeable with the hero, Daniel being a bit over the top and the heroine, Jade, being feisty and strong in her dislike of vampires. Therefore the romance has sparks flying and heated clashes happening throughout along with all the passion that burns between them. Lots of emotional turmoil flows from the pages as well ensuring that readers can really understand these characters and their motivations.
The plots is fast paced with lots of thrilling suspense and excitement building as the story progresses, especially as there is some serious opposition to this mating coming from every direction. Some unexpected twists and turns keeps readers on their toes as they stay completely absorbed by all the delightfully interesting and entertaining things going on in this story which also provides some fun filled moments as well.
I like some good bit-lit but it is not usually my favorite reads, but with this book I was hooked. The action takes place in a near future where vampires and werewolves are no more hidden creatures, where reality shows are still top rating TV programs. Jade hates vampires and she has a good reason for, so when by accident she is selected to be part of a vampire bachelor kind of show, she thinks only of escaping and run away, but she is trapped and has to face her worst nightmare by living with a vampire for one week. Daniel her suitor, knows instantly she is the One and Only, but he has a battle coming, he will have to show and prove her he can be trustworthy, different from the vampires of her past. Jade is a nice and kind woman, she went through aweful things but still she will do nothing for her baby brother and her friend, even scared by vampire, she will little by little let Daniel break her walls and letting him be part of her life. Daniel is not the usual alpha kind, he is wealthy, cocky and arrogant but for Jade, he will do nothing and her rejections at first hurt him but he does not give up. If you add her crazy friend Jenna and her adorable bother Stevie to this adventure, you definitively have a must-read. This story is a mixture of steamy, smiling, laughing, fearful and sad moments, I laughed, smiled, trembled and feared too for them. The end is just epic, I can’t wait read the next one in the series, and see what the future has in reserve for Jenna. I read this book via KU but I also bought it on amazon.fr to help the author.
It was just a silly reality show... Until he chose her. Absurdly rich and gorgeous Daniel Wolfe is used to get what he wants. And he wants Jade. The powerful vampire male picks her from the crowd of screaming females willing to do anything to please him. He's convinced that she's the One, His Beloved. But he wasn't prepared for a feisty girl who loathes vampires and doesn't want to be his for all Eternity. Jade will sacrifice anything—even her freedom—to protect her orphaned little brother. Content Warning: Explicit love scenes, naughty language, and an extremely sexy vampire. Intended for mature audiences.
This is a good read and not your typical vampire story. I like the world building that is happening. I like the characters how they have been created to be. Good plot and story line. Can't wait to read the next one now. Recommend reading.

I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review. His Beloved is Anna’s latest work focusing on Jade and her Vampire Mate Daniel. Jade comes from a past of heartache and loss, all because the then teenager didn’t want to be with a very persistent older Vampire. The situation became unbearable so her family fled only to have both of her parents killed and leaving her to raise her baby brother. Fast forward to a night when her Vampire obsessed best friend Jenna drags her to a club and her whole world is shaken. She’s forced to participate in competition to become the Beloved of notorious Vampire bachelor, Daniel Wolfe. All she wants to do is leave and take care of her ill brother, but that’s not going to happen. Daniel has met his Beloved, his Mate, but she wants nothing to do with him, and he will do anything to hold onto her. So what does he do??? Well he forces her to come live with him and compete for the chance of being his. The fact that she already is, well he has a lot of convincing to do. Throw in a competition, a famous Ex and a very pissed off Mate who is determined to leave as soon as she can and you have a great story. Add to that a whole cast of supporting players and it’s hard to put down. Well worth the read!!! Can’t wait to read Jenna’s story!!!
I am so in love with this series and I can't wait for the next book in the series! This book is so addictive and I couldn't stop reading this!!! I am a big fan of this authors work and am so glad I picked this up, it is amazing!
It is a very thrilling storyline and leaves you with so many questions of what the future will bring!! The writer writes in such a way that draws you into the characters lives and their experiences as well as into the universe that they all live in and it just makes you want more!!!
The thing that I loved the most about Jade was her fire, her stubbornness and her unending loyalty to those she cares about, especially her little brother. She is a strong woman that has had a lot of hurt in her life and I think her character can be a role model to show that life can get better. Daniel is definitely a complex character, having to essentially be two people, the one he has to show when in public and the one he is in private. He is loyal and loving to those in his inner circle and hates any media attention. He is extremely protective and when he opens his heart it is with everything he has.
I loved what happens in the last few chapters in this book. Get ready to be surprised!!! I can't rate this book highly enough and it has just made me love her book even more!!!
4**** N-17 PNR for Sex, violence His Beloved: Paranormal Vampire Romance by Anna Santos This story works on the premise that there are "good" and "bad" individuals in every group and the prejudices that arise when that is forgotten. The need for secrecy to protect their people and secrets from those who would harm them (the bad eggs on both sides) cause miscommunications to happen. Not everyone is who they seem to be in this at-first-glance fluff story. The magic of Beloveds causes a girl that would otherwise hate vampires to fall in love with one. There are glamorous locations, scary flashbacks, movie-style fight scenes, and romantically sensual bedroom scenes. Best of all there is love. Not just romance but family and sisterly love that brings out "Mamma bear" type instincts in these kick-butt women. It's almost as if there are two related yet different stories combined. In a way, they are because most of the characters are leading double lives. I'm glad I continued reading to the end and look forward to book number two.

His Beloved by Anna Santos is the first book in The Mate Series. This book is the inspiring story of a fated mate couple who meet during the filming of a vampire bachelor dating show. In this story, Jade agrees to go to a club with her friend Jenna where contestants for a who wants to marry a vampire are being chosen. Jade is not the type to believe in fate and is shocked when she is chosen as one of the contestants for the who wants to marry a vampire bachelor contest by a vampire named Daniel. I found this story quite inspired with its huge amounts of irony, sarcastic dialogue, and funny situations. It is filled with many uniquely human paranormal characters which were highlighted by problems that made for a romance filled with mystery, suspense, and strange adventures throughout this book. I found myself laughing at the antics of all the characters and how they dealt with the unusual situations they found themselves in. In my opinion, this book deserves a 5++ star rating because it is such a fun and inspiring tale that is so much more than the usual vampire romance. His Beloved is a fun, unique, twisted, and suspenseful vampire love story.
This book will make you recall with fondness all the other times an FMC was giving the MMC the third degree until you get to the sentence, “He ignored her” and the scene switches. The MMC in this book is incapable of not answering when the FMC talks to him, even when his answers are boring, stupid and repetitive.
How many times can two people have the same conversation? “I wanna go home.” “No, you’re gonna stay and you’re gonna like it.” End of discussion! Cut to the smooching. How is the FMC so stubborn that she can’t even be civil for 1 week for $70,000 while the MMC takes care of everything, including her kid brother? How is the MMC so emotionally constipated that he can’t manage to say even a single reassuring thing to her? Their banter is an absolute fail, and the way they switch on a dime from arguing to making out is not believable in the slightest.
Decided to stop reading when it was casually mentioned that the FMC’s five-year-old brother is so gifted that he’s moved on from learning to read and write and is now doing calculus. 🙄 Gimme a frickin’ break.
In the beginning a girl is forced to go with a vampire she despises and participate in a reality match making show (think bachelor or bachelorate). I really think the love developed too quickly to be realistic. Within days he proposes to her and she accepts. The world is in the future by at least a decade, but that's not really made known until 50% through the book.
This book also feels like it has 2 very different plots. The first one is with Jade winning the match making show and the second one happens after she's kidnapped. Personally, I was pretty bored until the second plot happened. Character development and background development could've been better.
I guess if you like rushed love , married in a week sort of stories, then you'd appreciate this book.
I've read 3 other books by this author, soul mate, spellbound, and the witch and the vampire king, and I think the world development and love between characters is developed better. Don't judge this author based on this book.
His beloved I wanted to read His Beloved due to my peeked interest in the mix of paranormal and a reality tv show, it was interesting for sure. In this world vampires and paranormals are out in the open and no longer a secret, the reality show being used to keep humans interested and liking them. Jade detests vampires and ends up being chosen and having to live with a hot rich vampire for a week, Daniel. Can she fight his affections?
This story gets your heart to melt and brings all the gushy feelings, the steamy scenes are hot and does have good build-up. What really got me is the way the story twists and becomes something entirely different and more filled with action and draws you in for the rest of the series. His beloved is a lengthy novel and is written in the 3rd person. I must say I did enjoy the love story that unfolds and all the different emotions brought out in the characters and the twists and underlined story won me over. Over all a good story and I do need to know what happens next.
I enjoyed this story. It was definitely a different take on vampires. For the most part, Daniel didn't really seem like one. Only a few times is blood mentioned within the story and there is very little actual biting. Daniel and Jade end up participating, and being the focus, for a reality show that is supposed to be about matching the vampire bachelor up with his "beloved". For the most part, that's not actually what the shows about but Jade is Daniel's beloved so it does come into play. Daniel has his work cut out for him on convincing Jade that he isn't a bad guy and that she truly is his beloved. There isn't a ton of action in this story but it was entertaining to read. This story focuses more on the interactions between Jade and Daniel and their building trust and a relationship. The sex is fairly explicit when it happens but is not a big part of the story. Overall, I enjoyed reading it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I wanted to like this. The idea was cool about a reality show. But I feel like she rushed through the get to know you phase and Jade just fell in love way too quick, accepting everything unrealistically. I wish she would've spent more time in the beginning. But I was bored and in disbelief for most of the book until Jade got kidnapped and what unfolded after.
Also I feel like this was written by someone who has very little idea of writing. It sounded like a badly written fanfic by a teen. The dialogue was very stilted. Plus the fact Daniel may look in his 20s but is way older, he should talk a bit more old fashioned, not like a 15 year old boy.
I love vampire/paranormal books and the whole beloved angle, but she didn't hit anywhere near the mark and made it painful to read unfortunately. I have read better fanfics that would be worthy of publication. Honestly I also have written better fanfics.
This is the first time; I have read a book by this author & found this vampire romance quite intriguing with a different view on vampires & their interactions with society. The plot is interesting & the world building is splendid. The characters are quite well-developed with unique personalities that are likeable. There is: a feisty human female (Jade) is looking after her sick brother (Stevie) & is persuaded by her friend (Jenna) to participate in a reality show for bachelor vampires & comes into contact with a arrogant vampire (Daniel Wolfe), vampires, humans, werewolves, twists & turns, adventure, some action, fated mates, intrigue, some suspense, secrets, abduction, distrust, miscommunication, manipulations, defiance, conflict, confrontations, unexpected surprises, contemplation, love, some steam but sadly it does end with a cliffhanger & I look forward to the next book with great anticipation.
I received a copy of this book from the author and I gladly leave my review. Another great book by Anna Santos and she is in my top 5 favourite authors. This story is about Jade a human who hates vampires, and Daniel who is a rich sexy vampire. Jade’s friend talks her into going onto a reality show game like the bachelor but for vampires and against her better judgment Jade agrees. Daniel is the bachelor up for grabs and while women throw themselves at him he only notices Jade. Daniel is arrogant towards Jade and that makes her dislike him even more. Daniel picks Jade to spend a week with but all she cares about is getting home to her sick brother Stevie. I love reading Anna’s books and this one is no exception. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves sexy, cocky vampires and stubborn women.
This one was a hot steamy read. In some places, the action felt a little bit smutty, but it was just for a second. Jade is a Human that hates vampires. But when she went with Her friend to The club and nad się was chosen by hot vampire bachelor to fight for his Heart in the reality show. She's not happy with it. And why is he calling her his beloved? What had happened in Jade's past that she hates vampires that much? Daniel is a sexy vampire. He just found his beloved but what will happen when she is not happy about it. He will need to do a lot to make Jade trust him - the scene with kisses blew my mind. This will be Great Ready for People looking for steam, love, vampires, hard past. I really enjoyed this read.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading His Beloved. It is a romance story that involves a vampire and a lady who is not so keen on vampires. It is an interesting twist that the tale begins in a reality television story. This story is all about romance that is quite tastefully written, and there is some action and thrills. There are also a few twists that keep the story interesting. The characters in the book are not so over the top that they are not believable. I really rooted for this couple to come into their own and have their happily ever after. I read this in one night and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It was just a silly reality show... Until he chose her...
Okay, now I see why I literally took years to read this book... I started reading this book when it first came out and only managed to read through the first five chapters and I left it. I now picked it up to finish it (because I can never DNF a book).
It was an okay read. The writing was alright. The characters were average and a little bit annoying. The story was good. Everything was just alright.
Not going to lie, I'm so disappointed. I love the author's Immortal Love series but this book is a tad bit disappointing. I'm torn between three or four stars.
Full of vampires, secrets, reality shows, family and love.
I have to be honest. This book was not the best. It had some good qualities but it was just too rushed and I believe that it needed to be paced a bit better. Had this book been divided into either two or three so it could focus on certain aspects of the story a bit more, then I think it might have been better. I am hoping that this book was just the bad apple that I picked up and that the Amazon recommender algorithm messed up with recommending me THIS particular book. This won't be the last time I read from this author.
But if you want to read my full thoughts on what happened with this book, check out my blog post! I went into a full rant there so be warned. It also has a ton of spoilers there. You've been warned!
