Fall Together

Rate this book
Two hearts collide on a London rush-hour Tube train. Artist Emily Raven really has no choice in getting up close and personal with model Pieter Bayer when they are pushed together in a crowded train carriage. Their close proximity kindles a conversation, which leads to them discovering they have an acquaintance in common—art director Darien Hollgoode. So when Pieter invites the artist to accompany him to the photo shoot he’s heading to, Emily decides it’s a perfect opportunity to catch up with her roguish old friend Darien, and spend time with her gorgeous new friend, Pieter.

Weeks later, a simple, passionate kiss leads to Pieter and Emily deciding that they want more, and, throwing caution to the wind, they begin a deeply erotic affair.

However, the couple have friends who are not so happy about their blossoming relationship. Pieter’s best-friend Simeon is secretly in love with him, and Emily’s manipulative old friend, Darien, holds an explosive secret to Pieter’s past that will change everything.

Set between Berlin and London, this beautifully life-affirming erotic romance story tells of how two damaged hearts learn to love again, and in loving each other, rediscover themselves.

Please note: This book was previously titled ‘Schonling’ and was re-released under the title ‘Fall Together’ in July 2016.

Also note: There are sexually explicit scenes in this book and strong language throughout. Reader discretion is advised.

Fall Together
Isobel Starling
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The start of this book was pretty intriguing and mysterious. I liked how the relationship started between Emily and Pieter. But the book went a little sideways for me. I didn't like Simeon and Darien. There were a lot of lies and deceit in this book. It would make it hard for me to trust any of them to make any relationship work.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! This story was new to me, and I've never read a book quite like it.
I loved Emily as a character, a strong, career focused and self-sufficient lady who had seen her fair share of shit in life. She is the woman we all would love to be and is highly successful. In the book, Emily had to learn to love again, what true love really is and whether love really outweighs everything. My heart broke for her when I heard about her past and I'm glad that she was so strong and found everything she was looking for. Her 'friends', well, don't get me started on those people! I felt so protective of her, as she didn't come across helpless, but some of the things she had gone through! I just wanted to help.
Peiter on the other hand, is a drop dead gorgeous model and is the 'it' boy of fashion. During the story, you get a sense of how hateful and cruel the fashion industry can be, but also how fake it all is. He has a lot of angst and again, he didn't seem like a 28-year-old model, but a teenager who had been thrown into the wild and left to fend for himself. He is such a down to Earth young man, who doesn't see age as a number, nor does he see a gender as the be all and end all. He loves all sorts of people, male or female, young or old. It was such a refreshing story to read, as he is feminine, but knows when to channel his inner male and alpha.
The sex scenes were intense, and I loved how you had time before they had sex to explore each other and learn how intimate not having sex can be. There was sex, but it didn't take anything away from the story, and some of the scenes will get you very hot.
The difference in Countries were well written and well thought out, as I loved that the characters had time to themselves as well as together.

I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but I couldn't as there were some spelling and punctuation mistakes throughout the book and it let the book down from such an amazing story. If there was a better proof-read to be completed, I wouldn't hesitate at giving this book 5 stars!
I look forward to hearing more off Isobel!

Full disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I must admit that when I started this book, I did not like it. I was put-off by the rather format tone of the book, plus some spelling and proofing errors, and felt the book told rather than showed. However ..... once I got past my own preconceptions, I really started to like this story, and ultimately felt it was very touching and beautiful.

It's perhaps too easy to describe this story as 28-yr-old model Pieter being a "toy boy" to an older woman, Emily, who at 40 is a renowned artist. At one point Pieter says "We are a crazy pair, Emily. You are a girl and f*ck like a gay man. I am a man and look like a girl ..... perfect!" But soon you realize that all those labels really don't mean much, in the face of the love that develops between Pieter and Emily. Again, I felt at times the writing style got in the way of the story, but the lovely result was worth it!

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. It was pretty good. We have Emily, who is focused on her career, and she does not rely on anyone. Then we have Peiter, who is a gorgeous model. Both of them are different and live long distance, so we read how they will try to deal with this. We go thru many emotions, and have some great character, I personally can't wait for the next one.

Schönling (pretty boy).
Isobel starling.
Is there a life beyond fashion?

Emily is a artist living out her life in London.
Her life changed after a crowded train ride.
Will she be able to bring down the walls she put up to protect herself??

Pieter has been living in a fast paced world of fashion. The life of a male model taking its tole on his heart, one night stands and false relationships leaving him unable to commit & unfulfilled.

When Lies and deceit have played there parts, can't the pair alow them selfs to trust again?
A beautiful tale of two broken souls coming together.
This was my first read from this author and it most defiantly won't be the last.
The way this relationship unfolded was truly beautiful.
The background had me broken.
There was the perfect balance of love:steam.
I could not put this book down.
Many thanks to Isobel for providing me a copy in exchange for honest review xx

This book was very weird. A lot of things made me cringe, and the only thing I actually liked in this book was the romance (the second star is for that reason alone): the actual sweet parts, not even the sexy ones, those were in most part also weird. Maybe it's just me, I'm not into those kind of things and I didn't really enjoyed reading them.
Then, there were Sim and Darien they helped in me disliking the book too. They were so nasty and disturbing. At times I wanted to kill both of them. Pieter and Em deserved better from their friends.
I don't think I've ever wanted to just finish a book for the sake of not reading it anymore and for me that's very sad. When this kind of thing happens it's a very sad thing, I usually at least enjoy the books but this was seriously a weird experience.
I'm not saying that I don't recommend the book, I just advise you to read the blurb and read some reviews to see if it's something that interests you before you jump into reading the book.

Such emotion; this book has to be read and not skimmed. To not really read this book would be a great disservice to the reader and the author; there is so much hidden in this book and it is truly brilliant. The relationship between Pieter and Emily is so full of surprise, and emotion. They meet each other at a time in their lives where they both question whether they are happy in their lives; what do they decide to do?

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and write a honest review of this book.

Overall book II spolier with no specific call out, but says it all. Moving on to book III

I fell with them, even though from book 1, I thought things may go a different way. This book touched on some emotions that I related to in an abstract way.

Emily Raven is a forty year old, successful artist, who hasn't been as lucky in love. That changes when she's stuck on an rush hour overcrowded London Tube train, when she's pushed up against model Pieter Bayer. It leads to conversation, which reveals that they have an acquaintance in common, so Pieter goes out on a limb, and asks her to go with him to his shoot. Emily takes him up on his offer to spend more time with him, plus to catch up with her old friend Darien Hollgoode. Pieter and Emily meet up again weeks later, and during that visit, they share a super sexy kiss that has them throwing caution to the wind, and see where their connection leads. As they spend time together, they find the connection won't be denied, and feelings quickly grow. Unfortunately, as happy as they are, people in their lives aren't quite as happy to see them together, and will do anything to keep them apart. Will the outside forces be successful in keeping them apart?

I believe this is the first time that I've read Isobel Starling, and this story is highly original which I did enjoy, but it took me a bit to get into it. The character development is good, although I didn't quite bond with Emily and Pieter fully. Their chemistry is off the charts hot, and led to SCORCHIN' panty melting sexy scene goodness. Isobel Starling's easy writing style kept me turning pages, and her twists and turns made for some OMG moments that made me yell loudly. For such an emotionally charged story, the ending seemed to rushed to me, however, I will be reading more of this author in the future.

Really loved Emily and Pieter's story! Though physically Pieter is not my type at all I still found him to be extremely sexy through Emily's eyes. Smut was very sexy and I loved how free Emily was and open about doing whatever is necessary to please her man!!
