Cayce Poponea currently resides in Southern Georgia, with her three dogs and a wonderful husband. A true romantic at heart, she writes the type of fiction she loves to read. When she isn't setting behind her computer screen, creating yet another heart-stopping, page-turning novel. You can find her enjoying down time with her family.
I was halfway through the book and beginning to wonder if these two were ever going to actually meet in person. They finally do but that first meeting has so much going on and so many people involved it was disappointing after the wait. I also felt it was unnecessary to ruin Alex’s character at the end he could have been left as a true good guy instead of being made into a cheater. I do enjoy the characters and the stories in this series but again there are some disappointments that make me unsure if I will continue reading the rest of these books.
This book kind of picks up where book one, Signed, SEALed, Delivered leaves off. Which is a stand alone with a wonderful HEA but leaves you with many questions and more importantly, wanting more! I tried to keep my review short but there is just so much to talk about!
Harper Kincaid grew up with her parents and brother, Ross, in a small town. Ross’ best friend, Alex, was also there as he and Ross were constantly together making her life miserable. As they grew up, the boys became more interested in making sure she was always the target of their practical jokes. For Harper, dating in high school was a challenge because Ross and Alex always terrorized and scared the intended dates away before the evenings ever got started. Eventually, things started to change. Alex asked Harper to the prom. He introduced her to his friends as his date and from then on they were an item. Living together during college confirmed their relationship went beyond the normal high school boyfriend/girlfriend thing that ends when one or both leave for higher education.
The attack on the World Trade Center changed everyone’s lives. Ross and Alex knew they had to do something so they joined the Marines. Before they could be shipped out, Alex surprised Harper by proposing and he and Harper were able to spend one magical night together. She promised that she would always wait for him.
Tragedy strikes when Alex is killed in action. Logan is a doctor stationed in Afghanistan where he and his SEAL team are battling an evil man who is carrying on the family tradition of cultivating and selling his bounty from the poppy fields. A few years ago, Logan had met Ross when Ross had been severely injured during an OP and it was up to Logan to keep Ross alive long enough to get him transferred someplace else for better medical care and rehabilitation. There is always someone requiring his skills as a surgeon and at one point, Logan makes a promise to a dying SEAL that is impossible to keep which weighs very heavy on his heart. A couple of years later, Ross is again with Logan when he is reassigned to Logan’s unit replacing a SEAL that is being sent home on medical. A close friendship is formed with the entire SEAL team, including Ross, as they serve out their contracts with the government.
Harper works for the USO and Navy League making sure single soldiers are not forgotten during the holidays. Harper is not satisfied with remembering these soldiers just at the holidays so she develops her own system. Harper chooses one soldier a year and “adopts” that soldier by emailing them often and sending them care packages once a month ensuring that they receive care packages on a regular basis and they contain items each individual soldier requests. It also appears to happen that each soldier that Harper has “adopted” so far has fallen in love with one of Harper’s friends and they have gone on to live happy lives together. Even her brother, Ross, has fallen for and married Harper’s best friend, Sarah. Harper also owns and works at a shop selling gently used clothing to people who need a fresh start. In addition to her care packages for her adopted soldiers, she also runs a charity that gives clothes to anyone in need.
Ross and Harper are very close. They keep in touch by skyping regularly. It was during one of their skype sessions when Logan happens to come into the room and for the first time, gets a look at the woman who has captured his interest and heart with her wonderful emails and thoughtful care packages, Harper. He is mesmerized by her beauty even though Harper thinks she is quite ordinary. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder and Logan has fallen - hard. Harper is more hesitant to allow her feelings for Logan grow because of the hurt she has suffered from losing Alex. Logan is from a wealthy and very influential family but his sense of honor won’t allow him to use those influences to shorten his time in the service to his country. He does however, use his wealth to buy sweet things for Harper and to keep her safe after hearing that Harper has a stalker.
This story grabs you and sucks you right in from the very beginning. If you have read Signed, SEALed, Delivered, you are more than excited to dig in and continue this adventure. It covers every emotion. The honor and loyalty of the SEALs in this story is very heartwarming and reinforces our pride in our military. The love and care Harper and her friends show to complete strangers reminds us that there are kind and selfless people still in this world. The twists and turns drive you insane with the need to read faster and clench with anxiety from the danger that surrounds Harper and Logan in this tiny homespun town. Logan, Ross and their team unexpectedly become heroes on their own home soil protecting those they love.
While Ms. Poponea delivers an excellent love story, complete with a sweet HEA, she taunts and teases you with unknowingly innocent details and then she leaves you dangling with the feeling like Charlie Brown has when Lucy yanks the football away!! Then she reminds you of those innocent little details you forgot about and it all makes sense. I loved it! I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Cayce Poponea has out done herself with her new Seal series. This has been one of the best series of books that I have read in a very long time. Romance, intrigue, and sexy military men - who could ask for more!!
I voluntarily reviewed and ARC of this book for an honest review. Loved this book. Took me longer to read because I had to keep wiping my eyes. This book will take you on a Rollercoaster ride. Loved the play between Logan and Harper. I love the way Cayce wrote this book.
Cayce has done it again. She writes the best Military romance ever in my honest opinion. The details she gives, the plots she creates, the characters she brings to life are amazing. This is easily one of my top reads for 2018.
This is the second book in the Trident Brotherhood Series and it was enjoyable. I really liked Logan and Harper’s characters and the storyline was pretty good too. A little slow moving in parts and a little bit choppy but overall a decent read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book. And I enjoyed the story immensely.
This is the second book in the Trident Brotherhood Series. And it's just as good as the first one. The storyline is captivating, original and well written. It's suspensful and filled twists that keeps you guessing what happens next all the way through.
Yet another great addition to the Trident Brotherhood Series. Cayce has a wonderful way of twisting the story and connecting even the littlest of things. Logan and Harper's story begins by way of being penpals, but several turn of events bring them closer to one another. I enjoyed this story and am loving the series so far!
Logan and Harpers story is the second book in this series. This is a fantasticly written series that will have you wanting more. Theses are swoon worthy seals and strong women. It's a must read series which I'm hoping there's more to come so I can read more about the other members of the team.
Cayce has captured the essence of patriotism, romance, intrigue and love beyond limits in this amazing story, Operation SEAL. Logan Forbes, AKA Doc, serving his country as a doctor overseas in the Konegal Valley, is chosen as "penpal of the year" by an amazing, kind, talented and smart young business woman known as Harper Kincaid, to receive care packages as tokens of appreciation for his service. In the story a promise is made by one almost as impossible to keep, as a change of heart concerning the past is endured by the other. This is the second in a series Cayce has brought to us that will keep you riveted to reading. It is a story of twists and surprises you won't want to end. Cayce puts the unexpected in her stories you will want more of. You will not be disappointed by this awesome author and will yearn for her other books to follow as quickly as possible.
It all started with a letter. Taking the time to write to a solider and put a smile on their face. Showing that you care what they do for our country. And with that letter, opened a lot of opportunities. Not just romance but closing an old wound.
Operation Seal is beautifully written. Full of romance, hope and patriotism. Harper selects one solider and corresponds to a solider overseas. Between care packages and happy momentous, she chose Logan. Logan is a SEAL who will do anything for his country. But before coming a SEAL, he was Doctor in the military. He had an eye opening event with a dying solider. Logan wanted to make a difference. And the elite SEALS was that difference. But something was missing. When that Harper's letter arrived, that was the missing piece.
Harper was dealt with heartache and loss. Being widowed, she puts on a happy face. But true joy is to make a solider smile. She had a connection with Logan from the beginning. But even across the world, it's a small world. They both know the same people because of her brother too is a SEAL. When letters turn into Skype calls, a beautiful relationship is formed. Friendship turns to love. And nothing will stop Logan to returning to Harper's love.
I love reading Military romances. Cayce did a phenomenal job. With first time reading anything from this author, I'm hooked!
