Although I like Jenny Wood’s formula, I feel like I've read it all by now. I have been pretty successful so far in ignoring the bad grammar of her other books and just enjoying the story. But while I did enjoy the story, the lack of editing really got me here.
Finn is the newest member of the Kennedy ‘family’. He is glad he has a steady job as a tattoo artist now so he can provide for his 2 year old daughter (who is actually the daughter of his deceased sister). One night when he is at the hospital when his daughter, Lennon, is sick, he meets nurse Jay. The two cannot stop staring and when Jay gives Finn his number, Finn knows he has to call him if he wants to see the beautiful man again.
Jay left the small town of Madison when he was 16, but is now back after 5 years. He is there because his father asked for him. His father who is dying and asking for forgiveness. But after the way the abusive man raised Jay, Jay is not sure he can find any forgiveness in his heart.
I liked the overall sweetness of this story. There is almost no relationship angst and these guys were pretty smitten with each other from the start. I wouldn’t call this insta-love since they do go out on dates to get to know each other better. But yes, there is insta-attraction from the get go.
And I know I sound like a broken record mentioning the bad grammar again, but I feel like it bugs me more and more with this author.
Like the use of commas. It’s like someone just threw a bunch of them at the pages. They often made no sense whatsoever, and they made me pause at weird moment. And I get that the names Jay and Jase are pretty similar, but when they get mixed up, things make no sense anymore. I’m also pretty sure you cannot say: he was covered in came.
And do not get me started about present and past tense. They often changed in the same sentence and I was having trouble following along.
There is still a sweetness and fluffiness that continues to pull me in to books by this author, but I do feel I’ve come to a point where I can no longer overlook the grammatical errors. Yes, I’m one of those now. :(

We met Finn, 25, after the last two weddings.
He's new in town and at the Ink Shop. Morgan is babysitting his adorable 2 yr. old girl.
Jay, 21, is the hot RN that took care of her.
Finn likes his new environment of openness and acceptance. He and Jay talk on the phone and finally have a lunch date. They are learning about each other, and they like what they see. The first kiss was dynamite! Finn is an amazing man and dad. Jay is deserving of something good in his tortured life. He has come to town to see his dad who is dying in the prison hospital.
We see Finn and Jay's feelings grow, with more dates and their explosive sexiness. I loved that Finn's beard was such a plaything yet comforting for Jay. Finn didn't talk to the guys much about Jay, because he's a bit new at the open banter, so the guys did not know who Jay was.
But when Jay's secret comes out - the Kennedy's react and Jay is alone and defeated. Finn to the rescue. He won't let anyone hurt or diminish Jay for any reason, and stays by his side. Also in this mix is Jay's struggle with his dad, who was a brutal, drunken man to Jay and everyone during Jay's childhood.
This is well written by Jenny Wood, who gives us astonishing characters we adore, hot sexy times, and a heart-grabbing tale.
My only wish is that it was longer..... but that's a good thing. I didn't want to let go of these guys. I wanted MORE !
We do get our HEA and no cliffhanger. Plus I am looking forward to Wade, our veteran getting his battlefield tattoo, and his story.
This is interesting, fun, serious, sweet and pertinent.
I love this series so much. Highly recommended. ENJOY !

Ooh! This got me good with the feels.
Set almost five years after the first story, this fifth installment follows the blossoming relationship between title character Finn, the newest member of Kennedy Ink, and Jay Perry, a young nurse who has past ties to Connor and Kayson.
Finn recently moved to town to establish a fresh start and to build a stable life for his baby girl Lennon. A talented tattoo artist in his own right, Finn procures a job at Kennedy Ink and is effortlessly welcomed into the fold by the whole gang, who offer Finn friendship and support while loving on his little girl like she was one of their own. In the Kennedy’s and their partners, Finn and Lennon find a new family to call their own.
Things only get better for Finn when he meets Nurse Jay Perry one evening when little Lennon isn’t feeling too well and needs medical assistance. Jay wins Finn over immediately, not only with his beautiful eyes and kind smile, but with the gentle care and sweet manner he bestows on little Lennon.
The two men hit it off immediately and begin to date, but Jay’s past and his current familial woes limit Jay from getting too serious with Finn, at least until Jay can find a way to explain his past, particularly where Finn’s new friends are concerned.
As with all my other Jenny Wood reading experiences, this story requires a good edit. These technical issues have simply become par of the course, and although I feel it’s an ongoing shame and potentially limits readership and enjoyment, I’m thankful that I can mostly overlook my issues and appreciate the stories for the sweet and romantic M/M romps that they are meant to be.
The insta-love is present too, especially considering how fast things move towards the end of the book, but again, I’ve come to expect this in my Jenny Wood reading. In fact, I like the way she writes these fast-paced and all-consuming forever romances, regardless of how realistic the timeline of relationship development seems to be. I don’t care as long as it makes me happy - which this did!
I’ve rated up here because this is definitely one of my favourite stories within this particular series, only slightly losing the first place title to Kingsley - I ship Kingsley and Morgan so hard! Plus, this story made me cry, which is a feat that always garners my praise. Jay’s past and his current emotional struggles pulled at my heart-strings and had me crying on and off throughout the final part of the story, and for that alone I’ve added an extra star!
Now I’ll just sit here and twiddle my thumbs as I wait (impatiently) for Wade’s story.

Reduce me to a pile of blubbering mess why don't ya Jenny! Oh man the feels in this one.
I absolutely adored Finn. He was so freaking amazing. He was everything Jay needed. I loved Jay too. He deserved a great man, someone who would love him and take care of him. And sweet little Lennon...I could have just eaten her up. I love kids in romance.
All that with Jay's dad was an emotional, heartbreaking journey 😭. I literally laid in bed crying while reading....tore me up. At least it wasn't F'n Jody this time who was the ass 😂 Glad to see he kept his shit together. Hopefully he's learning the error of his ways.
I'm very intrigued by Wade. I love a good broken and wounded military hero who deserves his HEA.

Maybe a 3.5 stars story 😉
Finn and Jay were maybe my second favourite couple after Kingsley and Morgan.
I like all those Kennedy Ink. boys but I'm not sure how different the next stories can get... Some of them start to sond repetitive and the editing/typo mistakes (especially mistaken names of the MCs!) really put me off sometimes :(
Still, I'm very curious of Wade's story so I'll continue with the series ;)

This was a really cute love story between Finn (and his sweet daughter) and nurse Jay (i love call him like that haha).
We meet them in the previous books but Jay was a good surprise for me. I like him a lot, he's strong, beautiful and truly kind. His relation with his father was complicated BUT i just can't forgive a man who did that kind of things to his son, whatever his reasons. Just NO. But i can just admire the courage of Jay.
Finn was also a very very good person. He raised his sister's child and he's beautiful with her.
BUT this book was too short, everything was so rushed (the end +++). I think they deserved more pages and more time for this relation to settle in (mostly with a child).
But this is sweet so I recommend it :)

This book has no editing whatsoever. I cannot believe how many punctuation errors, missing words and sentences with no sense this book had.
That definitely prevented me from enjoying this book to its fullest.
The story had potential, but left me wanting to know more. An epilogue would have been nice.

Finn! Swooon!
I was not prepared for Jay, even though I knew who he was
and what he went through...My heart broke for him.
The amount of crap one person can go through and still
be such a sweet person is beyond me. I really felt for him.
Finn was amazing, he was patient and understanding and
compassionate... plus, such a good dad.
Hot dad's are amazing.
I figured that things were going to blow up when the guys
came face to face with Jay, but I gotta admit, I figured it would
be Jody lol he hasn't had a very good track record with his temper, but I can understand
why it was who it was.
What I also loved, was the realness in Jay's situation. Can you imagine how hard it
would've been to forgive, after the life he had. It was real and raw and perfectly
executed. The ending about killed. I'm so glad he had Finn and Lenny to help him cope.
This just might be my favorite of this series. (Don't tell Kingsley)

This was book 5 in the
"Kennedy Ink "
series Finn is the new guy to the crew he has a daughter his sister died of breast cancer and he got custody of her baby Lennon. When Morgan takes her to the hospital because she has a fever he meets a hot sexy nurse who he thought was a doctor Jay. Turns out Jay is Douglas Perry the teen who assaulted Conner and the son of the man who tried to kill him. Jay grew up with an abusive alcoholic father who beat him when he found out his son was gay so he blamed Conner. Jay comes back to town when he learns that his father is dying he went to live with his grandmother in Grand Rapids. While working in the ER he meets Finn and Lenny and Morgan he can't stop looking at Finn. These two begin dating Jay who has to learn to forgive his father. Jay doesn't tell Finn that he knows Conner or what he did to him and when it comes out after they have sex and the guys show up at Finn's house Kayson blows up. I felt bad for Jay his mother died and his father abused him all he wanted was a family of his own. The format is still messed up, but I love reading this series.

Okay, so if you’re picking up this book expecting crisp grammar, spotless editing, or even just the basic courtesy of using the right character names… Bless your optimistic little heart — This is why: - Book 1 - review
Finn and Jay. These two - Adorable. Like, spoon-worthy levels of cute. Their connection gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings - and then some. I was so here for their love story. But (and you knew a but was coming), the pacing, especially toward the end, it felt like the author suddenly realized they had five pages left and panicked. We went from emotional build-up to “aaand we’re done!” in record time. My heart needed a bit more room to breathe, y’know?
And listen, I can roll with the occasional typo (NO surprise - this goes for the whole series) But when characters start getting called the wrong names. That’s when I start yelling at the book like it's a soap opera. It totally yanked me out of the story and made me want to edit it myself with a red pen and some wine-fueled rage.
That said… damn, there were moments that hit. Especially anything involving Jay’s dad. I went in fully expecting to side-eye him the whole way through, and then BAM - emotional ambush. Didn’t see that coming, and I loved it. Be prepared for some tears. That ending hits HARD. 😭
Overall, this book had heart - no denying that. Finn and Jay carried the emotional core like champs, and some of those deeper moments really got me. I just wish the pacing hadn’t tripped over itself at the finish line and that someone had hit spellcheck before hitting publish. Still, if you can overlook the bumps, there’s a sweet, tender story underneath it all that’s totally worth a read.

Be still my heart. These two...Jay and Finn are just perfect. I was hoping...no PRAYING that the punk kid from the first book would get this own book or at least a supporting part to see what happened to him. I loved him from the beginning. He was sweet, kind and remorseful of his past actions. He didn't make any excuses for himself and when push came to shove, he apologized and he meant it. And Finn....ohhhhh Finn. Even when the whole story came out and everyone was mad and upset....he stood faithful and strong next to his man. Ugh...these two....:-)

Who'd have thought the person who attacked Conner so many years ago would come back into the Kennedy Ink world in such a big way... actually I think the attack is what brought Conner and Kayson together, but at first Kayson didn't see it that way.
5 years after being sent to live to his grandmother Jay, returns to Madison to be with his imprisoned father who is dying. The changes in Jay's father is so touching, but that doesn't make it easy for Jay to forgive him for the horror he had to live with as a child.
Finn, looking for a new, stable home for himself and his 5 year old daughter brings him to Madison and his skills as an Tattoo artist brings him to the shop of Kennedy Ink and into a family that just pulls you in and never lets you go, in a great way.
These two guys got together is a cute way and their building relationship though very fast in such a short story ways awesome. I loved how much Jay loved Finn's beard and touch it was always a comfort to him.

I've been waiting for this book...Jenny opened the emotional roller coaster with Finn.
The past for Douglas "Jay" Perry comes flooding back as he returns to his home town. His life had been a living hell growing up and now the one man that made it so was on his final days. Jerry Perry was a man living with his inner demons, suppressing them with as much booze as he could, all the while subjecting his son to live through years of torture and mental abuse. After trying to kill someone, he was sent to prison. The next 5 years for his son were changing and healing. The man that returned was not the troubled teen that left. Enter Finn. A man raising his deceased sisters child.
Chance would have it, they'd meet when Lennon ended up in the ER with an ear infection. Fate entwined their lives. Things were smooth between them, something Jay wasn't used to. There was turmoil when the tattoo artist came face to face with them together but it was short lived. That fateful night Jays father was at the end of his journey. He wouldn't face it alone. Jay was there and unbeknownst to him, Finn would be with him every step of the way. What Jay didn't know was that the Kennedy Ink boys would claim his as their own.

Before anything: thank you for your work! I love the Kennedy ink series!!
about the book...well, I've read it in a day, holding my breath the entire time, but sadly the book didn't stand up to my expectations. when I started the series I was really excited, every book kept me reading and wanting for more, so I was really looking forward to read about Jay and Finn, but when I had my hands on it I felt like something was missing: the story is really cute, and more than once I've felt for them deeply, but at the same time, it finished in a rush, not letting me enjoy them properly. while I've pictured clearly the entire Kennedy crew in my mind, I still can't see Finn "whole" as a character, and I felt like jay was the most sentimental kid in the world, sure, but not much else. Maybe I simply didn't want it to end so quickly, but it saddens me that from the whole series these two got less space and word to their story. that's why I've rated it with two ⭐

This is really an extension of “Til Death Do Us Part” though you can get what you need without reading that “pre” novella.
As with all the others in this series, we have a seriously sweet and tatted up guy who falls for someone who is sweet and shy and needs a helping hand. I have to say that the entire relationship that we see with Jay and his father had me seriously weeping throughout the book. There is just no good way for this to pan out and I was deeply touched by the whole thing.
I loved that Finn was there for Jay and that his sweet daughter got to help spread sunshine too – I liked that nobody in this story is “perfect” and the author allows them to keep their foibles but still find love.
Highly recommended!

Enjoyable
This was a decent story to read. It was just a little longer than a novella and we get enough background to feel for the characters. The reveal was done quickly and I like how it was resolved, Finn was great. This could have been a 4 star but for the numerous editing issues. While normally typos or small errors don't distract me, there were so many it did take a little away for me. Some words in sentences didn't even make sense. Otherwise though, it was a decent, quick read.

Proofreaders missing
I have tried very hard to enjoy this series, loving the concept...but each book is worse than the previous because of the absolutely horrible editing: "he" becoming "she" in the same paragraph!!; grammatical errors...I find these things distracted from every story line...I'm a diehard Kindle Unlimited user but took a chance on purchasing this series...too bad I can not get a refund...if editing errors don't bother you, enjoy!

Let me first start off by saying I'm a HUGE fan of Jenny Wood. Yes, there are a lot of editing, grammar, and tense errors, but I can overlook them in her books.
With that said, I'm SO done with the niceness. I'm DONE with MC's not having backbones and forgiving.

Can I just say the last book said Dr. & this synopsis says nurse, so I'm going with the assumption from that. that there's a story there, n it's not a typo Or maybe he's a Dr of Nursing! or the 'DR' was in jest!
AND OMG I LOVE THAT HE'S THE DUDE THAT PUNCHED CONNOR!!!

Wow!
Jenny is back at it! I can truly say that I love her books, and cant wait to read more.
I love how Finn and Jay ended up. I did have a few tears with Jay and his dad but love how things ended with them. I also am glad how Finn handled things and kept himself by Jay the whole time. Also I can understand the appreciation for a good thick beard.

Such a good series.
This would be 5 Stars, because the story is tattooed, but the editing remains a problem for me. I wish the author would just have a belabor two read it over for issues. It would make this series absolutely perfect.

I've enjoyed this whole series but I really enjoyed this book. FInn and his daughter were incredible and it was nice seeing Jay as a mature and changed man. It was a real tear jerker though especially towards the end!

this book has changed the way I am gong to be looking at beards now ......... lol not joking that being said I really love this series and I can't wait to learn more about the new guy !!!! wow I think he said like 7 words in the whole book I am so on the edge of my seat waiting to learn more ... :)
