I wreszcie czarne charaktery pokazały trochę… no właśnie, charakteru. That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Nowo wprowadzone postaci też spoko. Tereny przemierzane przez bohaterów też o wiele ciekawsze. Wszystko po prostu lepsze niż w poprzednim tomie. Solidne 4/5.
Important information: Each book of this series is written by a different author. Brandon Mull was first.
I loved this book! Everything I disliked about the previous two was the opposite in this one!
The plot was exciting and quick-moving. A lot happened for 200 pages. The ending was a dramatic cliffhanger, and I am just dying to read the next book. If only it could be by the same author! I had almost Percy Jackson vibes from the riddle-like instructions that gradually were fulfilled. There was a good plot twist, but I feel I can't properly review it because I saw spoilers for it.
The characters were represented more as I know them, and the romance was still there, but less... cringeworthy.
The setting is well-done, as usual. Erdas has some complex history, and it's fun to learn more about, as it's explained understandably. It does seem like some authors add things to it on a whim, but it isn't terribly confusing. This author makes it seem more organized and planned out than others.
I have no technical complaints. The grammar is clean and the style is smooth.
While some authors in this series are better than others, I think it's worth a try, especially for fantasy and animal lovers.
This book continues to move the series forward. The book ends on a cliffhanger with a surprise betrayal. Leads into the next book in the series. Though I'm personally a little tired of the series, the story arc does hold well across the books and the kids still wait eagerly for the next release.
I wish they struggled more with the clues Tembo gave them. He went through all the work of making sure no one could find all these gifts and locked them behind riddles and a bunch of kids just instantly figure it out? You'd think if he wanted to make sure most people couldn't find them then it wouldn't be so easy for the first person that looks at it.
They are falling for ANOTHER bird spy. This happens to them so often I would expect them to be paranoid about every single bird they see, but I guess not. I guess they are just going to be surprised by every single one of them every single time this happens. It feels like the authors of these books simply can't find a better way to get the bad guys to them than just recycle this scene over and over while calling it a coincedence over and over. Then immediately after the Oathbound "suddenly found them again." Wow, didn't see that coming. Furthermore, they set up camp in the only spot with trees? It makes sense, but again, why wouldn't the Oathbound also suspect you are in the place with the only cover?
I don't understand how they got surrounded by hyenas. Uraza and Briggan should have been able to smell them from a mile away. It was just a way to get Anka to fight, which is frankly a bit of a boring way to show off her skills because the situation really should not have happened at all.
I really like that Xanthe gave them doubts about what collecting the gifts would actually do for them. They have been blindly following Olvan's orders without really knowing anything about them, showing they have been through a lot but in the end are still kids just trying to make it in the world with adult guidance.
It keeps making no sense. Getting stabbed in the stomach will not cause breathing problems lol. Why could Kovo get out of the Greencloaks' chains but not the Oathbounds'? Why wouldn't Takoda just put him into passive state then immediately release him as another way out?
The twist was very exciting though! I was NOT expecting any of that despite reading so many books about the characters at this point.
I have been enjoying this series, however Spirit Animals - Fall of the Beasts: Stormspeaker did not live up to expectations... or rather it did. For the majority of this series I have been able to guess a few things that would happen, however the apparent big twist in this story (which I had hoped wouldn't happen) was clearly seen from its inception.
However, once that disappointment is pushed aside, the story runs quite well and I am looking forward to see how the Greencloaks are going to escape the Oathbound and restore the public's sentiment towards the Greencloaks.
After the previous book in the Spirit Animals series, Wildcat’s Claw, left off, this book opens with the main characters, Conor, Rollan, Meilen, and Abeke, joined with their newly acquired friends, Xanthe and Anka. Still being chased by the Oathbound after being falsly accused of murder, they are set on their next quest; achieve Stormspeaker. Written by Christina Diaz Gonzalez, this book was a great addition to the nearly 20 book series. It fits well into the timeline, which is a great accomplishment, considering every book is written by a different author. It has a great plot twist that takes your emotions on a rollercoaster of events. I recommend this book to anyone who has read books such as Fablehaven, written by Brandon Mull, also the author of the very first Spirit Animals book.
3.5/5-I really liked things about this portion of the series. I don’t think it quite measured up to the “Worm Trilogy” that preceded it. It never felt quite as desperate. And, it felt repetitive: traveling their world trying to find relics with great power. But, I loved that the 4 main characters were together for essentially the entire mission. And, I loved the climactic battle in the final book after they’ve strengthened the bond with their spirit animals. Good stuff!
The way they treated Xanthe...!!!! They didn't Know Anka/Kana but she was wearing a Greencloak so they immediately trusted her... Even though they just got betrayed by fake Greencloaks.... They trusted the stranger. But Xanthe, noooo, she isn't a Greencloak so she can't be trusted.... It made me so mad the way they disrespected and distrusted her! Nefrini and Naveb knew. They saw through Anka/Kana's disguise.
Anyway, I'm glad Worthy is still alive.
Nearly there. on to the last book and I still have so many questions and there is still so much that has to happen.....
A lot happened in this book. I was very surprised by one twist. I was thinking things were going to go one way, but was totally mistaken. I am anxious to get to the end of the series and hope that things settle down nicely. These kids need a break!
The character dev was astonishing as usual. I really loved seeing old characters get reintroduced. I love the new ones as well. I love the wide diversity in all subjects. Well worth the read. Ending was a shock.
Il s’en passe des affaires dans ce tome ! C’est aussi toute la mise en place pour le tome final. Je n’ai aucun doute que nos héros vont réussir leur mission, mais j’ai hâte de voir comment ils vont y parvenir.
Ohhhh... KOCHAM TO!!!
I thought this was quite well written, but am tired of this series, tbh. I do really like our four protags and their beasts, but this series is too long.
Another exciting adventure in this series. The Four Heroes of Erdas are not sure who their friends are, and this uncertainty wounds those who want to help them, but in Erdas, where the Oathbound are ahead of every move they make, it is not clear who they can trust.
