A precursor to DK's award-winning Eyewitness series, Eye Wonder was specially developed for children aged five plus, featuring astonishing photography exhibiting subjects within their natural setting, offering a whole new level of information through powerful images. Each title in the series now contains educational activities including true and false questions, quizzes, matching games, and mazes. Vocabulary is accessible to young readers, with the meanings of new, subject-related words clearly explained. The combination of visuals and informative, accurate text will hook even those children who usually avoid books. An in-depth look at the sprawling trees and dense undergrowth of the ecosystem of the rainforest, Eye Rainforest welcomes young readers into the world of tigers, snakes, and chimpanzees, as well as marmosets, katydids, sloths, and more.

This book was really good. My favorite part of the book was the bats especially the vampire bat. It also tells you the important and random facts about the animal or the thing.

This non-fiction eye wonder read is all about the rain forest and the creatures who live in it. In the beginning, this book explains there are five layers of the forest and that each animal has its own special layer. Most of the pages highlight the region that the animal presented lives in. Many monkeys and birds live in the Emergent layer. Snakes live in the Understory. This book contains facts about animal behaviors, plant species, nocturnal animals, and camouflage.

I thought this book was vivid with bright photography and descriptive with its words. I liked it a lot. The many captions give details about animals and their behaviors. My favorite page is the one titled "In the Treetops" because it has interesting facts about monkeys and a beautiful blue butterfly.

I would use this book to help students learn about animals or habitats. The glossary in the back would be great for vocabulary words! Students could use this book to gather information for a project.

-This is a book all about the rainforest and everything that is in a rain forest. It tells you all about the trees and all of the animals that can survive there. It is a very informative book and gives you a lot of knowledge about the rainforest you might not have known before reading it.
-This book surprised me with how interesting and informative it was. Nonfiction is not my favorite read, but when I read this I really enjoyed it.
- I would definitely get use out of this in my classroom if we were learning about different parts of the world or just about rainforests in general.

Filled a bit too densely with facts and information, this is an interesting, but not likely engaging book about the rain forest ecosystems on Earth. The book includes many colorful photographs, which is helpful, but the massive amount of information contained with the book may not keep the attention of younger readers.

This one had games and quizzes at the back which were fun to tie together everything we learned in it. I also liked how each page highlighted which layer we were addressing or if it applied to multiple layers.

Amazing Animals by Philippa Perry is an informational text about different types of animals past and present. The book is loaded with facts and illustrations and written similar to a textbook. It includes sections on unique Australian mammals, animal evolution, reptiles, endangered species, extinct animals, animal languages, birds, and animal family dynamics. This book would be a good supplement to a biology unit and be fun for some students to look at during Sustained Silent Reading time. It is suitable for 2nd through 4th grades.

This book on rain forests focuses more on the animals and plants that live there. There are some un activities at the back of the book that will encourage readers to look back to find the answers. Full color photographs and visually appealing layout make it a fun book to browse.

I give it 5 stars but I would do so because it was a good book. It had pictures of frogs. I really loved it. I also liked it because I read it all which is important to me. I would recommend it to other people because I would give it to other people.
