Reports of strange creatures began to be reported in the western half of the United States after the explosive incident at Area 51.
In response, the U.S. government created the Department of Extraterrestrial and Alien Defense--D.E.A.D. for short.
And with a name like that, what could possibly go wrong? __________________________ When Dr. Maeve Leander escaped Area 51 with her unusual family, she knew the safety net provided by the President of the United States would only be short lived.
And she was right.
On the run, new allies join Maeve in her fight for her family's survival. But with each new person, the risk to Alvie and the triplets grows as do the questions: What do these new people want? Why are they helping them and what is their end game?
In all the uncertainty surrounding her, Maeve is sure of only one thing: she will do everything in her power to keep her family safe. But with the United States government working against her, what chance does she have?

I am loving this series. The Dean Koontz Watchers meet ET series is my only way of discribing the story. Aliens, Scientists, the Government and yet relationships. It's a compelling story that will keep you on the edge of your seat while you fall in love with grays, greens and a large winged man thing, oh and the Defender...........who will suprise you big time.
Ms. Brady is a great storyteller who loves to build relationships with her characters and them with us, the readers.
I don't usually leave reviews, but this series is by far the best I've ever read in this genre. Great characters and ample development of each. The story is compelling with just the right amount of action. The mysterious new aliens and people in this book added even more depth and brings out the curiosity in me. I want to know what is going on with the large grey and Alvie. What is Alvie? Who or what is Adam/Joseph? I'm gonna go find out by reading the next book now.
This is how you write a present-day science fiction thriller with more twists and turns than a go kart full of monkeys on meth! Yeah, it's that good, totally pays off the action adventure generated in the first book in the series and nicely sets up things for a sequel. A really fun read and at times reminiscent of the human/alien bonding in some of Heinlein's best juvies. Guess I'm Becoming one of the Brady Bunch whether I want to or not.
DEAD is confusing. The last book mentions Leslie and Greg but there is no mention of Leslie at all in DEAD. You would think the author would mention on of its main characters. All through book one the MCs were Maeve, Chris, Leslie and Greg. Then, once you reach the conclusion there was supposed to be a big revelation from Tilda but it isn't even mentioned in the epilogue. Can't the author make up her mind? It is still a good book but it's just missing too much.
Just fantastic, I had to read the entire book in one sitting. Lots of characters but it was managed beautifully. It's a well written, fast paced science fiction featuring alien life and that's all you really need to know. Read book one for background information if you have not done so already and have this book ready. Excited for what comes next!
I really wish I could clone RD Brady so that we could get more writing out of her. If you haven't read The Belial Series you are really missing out. The ALIVE series is another of her series I can't get enough of. Mrs. Brady, we need the next Belial book out pronto, please. Oh, and can you slap together the RISE book quickly as well?
I'm so enamoured to this series! Fabulous aliens with unconditional love and loyalty. I could not put this book down. I read into the dawn. I can sleep when I'm dead. I'm committed to reading RD's books. At this time, I would read her grocery list! Don't miss out on reading this enjoyable fast- moving story. #Believe
With each page you wonder if they will make it or will they be killed. There are so many twist and turns you feel like you won't make it. This book is great. I loved it. Can't wait for the next one.
I love this author's style of writing. The characters are flawed with a good conscience to go with it. The action does not let up in any of her books. Aliens galore with a very interesting end game in play!
I can't wait for the next installment, R.I.S.E. if you believe at all in the possibility of aliens this is a great read for you. There is lots of action and interesting speculation on what secret programs our government may be conducting.
Wow another great read, if you are into UFO,s you really need to read this book. It would be better if you read the first book,so that you would know what was going on. Hate to wait until 2018 to see where the author is going with the series.
This book rocks with government conspiracy, hero aliens and an amazing group of characters. I am eagerly anticipating the sequel. R.D. Brady, your tales just keep getting more interesting. I loved this story. I
A really good sci fi book full of aliens, conspiracy theories and shadow government organisations make this a good read, looking forward to book 3 in the series. I have really enjoyed these two books.
This series was absolutely fascinating. I loved all of the characters and plot line. I also absolutely loved all of the facts and research that went into it and the breakdown at the end of each book
Y’all must start reading this Fantastic series. Darn it’s so Good. The twist and turns and then the plot takes a turn I was not thinking of. One more time, DANG!
This was a captivating read. The characters are well developed to the point where you root for or against the characters. I’m looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds and is wrapped up in the last book.
Good continuation of the first book. I enjoyed seeing our little group expand with some more help. I also liked the idea of another space program. I really hope that is fleshed out in the next book.
The story is plausable, the characters well developed and loved (or hated). I loved the action and pace as well as the affection with and between species.
