Being gender fluid is a way of life for Axel. Owning as many suits as dresses is normal, deciding what day to wear them even easier. He doesn't fight what he feels, even if one day it's basketball shorts and the next high heels. Axel faces life head-on. Letting nothing get in his way. Even with the hate and bigotry he faces for being gender fluid, he looks forward to a day that he can find someone who accepts him for who he is.

Every book in this series is a stand-alone read.

Relationships and romance have never been Les's thing. He believes there should be more to life than quick pick-ups and one-night-stands. He wants something meaningful, something with a future. Meeting the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, Les is shocked to find out Axel is gender fluid. He's never dated a man before, but with the chemistry between them, he's willing to give it a try.

Life isn't easy when you don't conform, even harder when hate surrounds you. Leaning on each other for support, the two try to find happiness in a world determined to break them apart.

DNF’d at 75%. I just couldn’t move past the endless bemoaning and repetitive complaints and doubts by both Ax and Les, and I simply could not deal with the never-ending errors that were popping up like weeds. I tried to finish the book, but after reading the same points and issues again and again after every other page got on my nerves so much, it was a choice between tossing me e-reader away or closing the book!!!!

**** So profound, so timely, engaging and important !
Marvelous anticipation turns to kisses and deeper friendship for our men.
* Les, Computer Tech, with short brown hair and solid build, has never been in a relationship, nor has he ever considered a man, until Axel/Ax.

* Ax is an auto mechanic, long blonde hair, blue eyed, tall, thin, gender fluid man.

What was it about this complex guy that pulled to him, and left him in a tangle? * He liked Axel as a man or dressed as a woman. It didn't matter; because it was the core of Ax's soul Les was falling for.

* Several things are happening; Les has parents that are ill, Axel's folks don't approve of his feminine side, but his sister is accepting, plus Les has an idiot roommate.

Les is truly devoted and caring after Axel is attacked.

He moves him in and helps Ax heal. They hang out, talk, bond. Les is conflicted by his feelings, but his realization is amazing. I loved Les and his strong confidence. Ax is conflicted because he's been rejected over and over again. Jeff, the roommate gets really stupid, and things take a turn, but the time apart only makes Les and Ax stronger. Together, Les and Ax are wonderful, content and happy. When they finally consummate the relationship, every bell and whistle goes off.

Hot passion filled sexy times help them become even more sure of themselves. It cements it for Les.
This is an eye-opening story of very different people finding out they fit together. I learned new information on gender fluidity. The explanations were easy to understand. It was fun to feel their emotions as they became melded in their hearts and minds.

Beautifully written story that flows well, where we see our lovable men live together and make it work.

The epilogue is fabulous !
Highly recommended. ENJOY !

What l enjoy the most about this author is her versatility,
you never know at any time what subject matter she will bring to life,
this is my first read about Gender Fluidity, and l truly feel educated.

"l was born male, but some days the girl inside me wants out , so l let her"
This is Axel/Ax , who is a tall gorgeous gay guy, that likes to dress in pretty clothes
makeup and high heels when he feels in the mood.
Ax is a very confident person in his/her own skin, he works as a car mechanic in an all male domain,
but when he goes out for fun he likes to be a sexy lady .
He has experienced a lot of abuse, and rejection from his family and former boyfriends,
all he wants is for that special person to accept him for who he is whatever his outfit may be.

Les is a hard working , loyal guy , that hates hook ups, and meaningless sex.
He desperately wants to find someone to love and enjoy a relationship with.
When he meets Ax in a bar he likes her, and enjoys her company,as well as her long legs.
Les has always believed that he was a straight guy, so being very comfortable around Ax,
knowing he's a guy, and realising that they have great chemistry leaves him confused.

The more time they spend together , the more they give in to the attraction between them,
until Les comes to the conclusion that he really likes Ax the person.
He had a sexy woman , and a gorgeous guy by his side he didn't prefer one over the other.
They have to battle through lots of hardships and prejudices, and self doubt
not knowing if they can make it as a couple in the real world.

This has been such an eye opening story for me, never having had to question my gender.
It is a beautifully written love story, that has left me equally as happy, sad and angry.
A brave piece of writing.

A different love story. Stories like this are important; key to our understanding of each other. The term gender fluid is a relatively new description of human gender and as we now understand, unrelated to sexuality except in the larger sense. This is a bit of a 'friends to lovers' tale as the two main characters became best of friends first before even a consideration of more, a more intimate relationship.
This is the story of a young man who is comfortable with his gay best friend to such a degree that they alternate night-life venues. One night Les will choose their entertainment and the next, his best friend Jeff would choose, usually a gay bar, usually leaving Les stranded when he went off with a hookup.
Les, as a single straight man wanted something for himself, a relationship, unlikely to be found in a gay bar. When he met a very attractive woman, he was disconcerted to hear the deep voice and discover that the beautiful person was Axel, born male but with a distinct and strong feminine side. His attraction was immediate but he initially didn't see it as sexual, simply as appreciation. They became very good friends and then more but their journey was far from smooth.
This is a lovely, heartwarming story and perhaps even an eye-opening view into the differences that make us interesting.

Fluidity is the second book in the Hearts Not Parts Collection by E.M. Leya. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. It tells the story of Axel, a gender-fluid individual who owns as many suits as dresses and does not let societal norms dictate how they present themselves. Despite facing bigotry and hatred from those around him, Axel remains unapologetically himself and looks for someone who will accept them for who they are. That is where Les comes in- a man who has never dated a man before but is drawn to Axel's beauty and personality. Together, Axel and Les navigate the challenges of a world that does not understand them and find support in each other. Overall, Fluidity is a heartwarming and poignant story about love, acceptance, and the courage to be oneself. The author does a fantastic job of creating complex and nuanced characters that feel authentic and relatable. The novel also addresses important issues such as discrimination and hate, and how it can affect the lives of those who do not conform to societal norms.

WOW!
I've read a couple of Gender Fluid stories before and really loved them so was excited to read this one too.
What I loved about this story was how Les reacted to Axel right from the start and how he accepted and fell for Axel the person, not as a male or female. Yes, at the beginning it's kinda the fem persona Les falls for but, and here's the important thing, he also still felt the same when Axel was in his male persona too.
This isn't too say they have it easy though. They do have a really rough ride with things that happen in their lives as well as how they question if things between them will last especially as until Axel, Les had never been interested in men.
This book really does raise awareness about how gender fluid people are, their daily battles for acceptance of them as a person NOT as a gender!
This was a really amazingly writing story with an important message; Accept people for WHO they are, NOT for what they are.

I thought this was a good portrayal of a genderfluid romance. It's a GFY (gay for you) story but with tact. It truly is about hearts not parts. Les has never been attracted to men before but he also has no problem with gay men. Axel has as many feminine days as he does masculine ones and has no problem with it. His problem is that gay men don't want him because of his feminine side and straight men don't want him because he is male. Axel and Les meet at a gay club on one of Axel's feminine days and Les is instantly attracted. Once he finds out that Axel is male, he is still attracted to him. One of my favorite things about this story is that Les didn't quite have that push and pull you expect from straight men when being attracted to another male. He gives in pretty easily and loves all sides of Axel.

This is such a good story about the inherent goodness of people and true love regardless of gender.

Lovely story of ultimate acceptance

I liked this! The acceptance and love from Les was so sweet! My one big issue is that I hate hate hate throw away characters. For example, the banter between ax and his cousin the night that ax and Les met but the he’s never mentioned again until one line at the very end it just bugs me because it doesn’t feel authentic I want to lose myself in the world of the books I read but having Carl just disappear just didn’t work for me. I also didn’t like the conclusion with Jeff it just went no where and wasn’t mentioned much after he moved out it just rips me out of the world and reminds me that it’s all just a story.

I loved the topic and they way the gender fluidity was handled. But I had two WTF moments (contain spoilers):
1) Jeff is suddenly in love with Les? I looove drama but this came out of nowhere. Especially because Jeff has no interaction in the book with Les, even as his roommate because he’s off banging other men all the time!
2)Suddenly Ax's father is okay with him dressing as a woman and giving him away, while Ax is wearing a brides dress? Why was that confrontation/conversation not included? Seems kinda important!

I'm a little on the fence with this book. On one hand I'm loving Ax and Les together and the gender fluidity but on the other hand I didn't care for what happened with Les best friend.
I think I would have preferred it if the book was more focused on Ax and Les and what they had to work through regarding being gay and the gender fluidity. There were so many other bad things happening that it almost became to much.
But what I did love was Les and Ax! I think they are perfect together.

This is a great story. The relationship between Les and Axel is one full of understanding, fears and genuine love for each other.

This is a great eye opener about gender identity and fluidity, it is written in a way the characters are complex but easy to understand.

Highly recommended this book.

So different but great.

There aren’t many books that I have read on gender fluid people so I really enjoyed this book. I love all books by the author and this was full of surprises I hadn’t expected. I enjoyed the secondary characters and how good Ax and Les were for each other. I liked how the book ended. Great series.

New author to me, and one I will now keep an eye out for.

I'm a big fan of stories with fluid MCs and this was a decent read. I did feel that Les was a bit too good to be true at times, but I loved Axel and his absolute refusal to apologise for who he was.

Great read.

Love has no limit.

I wanted to read this book because society tells us if you look a certain way you will attract a mate. Axel shows us that this is not the case. The book synopsis tells you all you need to about him. "He doesn't fight what he feels, even if one day it's basketball shorts and the next high heels." His everlasting hope for love makes him better than us regular humans.

Les feel in love with the soul and not the body. Its one thing to say you will be ok with being in a relationship with a being like Axel but actions speak louder than words. Les was great in the way he truly loved who he came home to. No matter what face they were wearing.

I will read more books from this author.
