When Sandra Meyer's violent ex-boyfriend returns to sleepy Edgarville, Illinois, she turns to the man who stood up to Nick Benedetto years ago. If brawny Garth Benson will pose as her boyfriend on social media, maybe Nick will leave her alone. Sandra adores Garth, but she doesn't want any more ties to Edgarville. Now finished with a decade of dedicated service as her mother's caregiver, Sandra is planning her exit from this one-stoplight town.
Garth is firmly rooted in Edgarville with the family monument business and a trophy shop that will need a "mom" to his "pop." Garth has wanted Sandra ever since he slugged Nick more than ten years ago. Her secrets run deep, as do the strengths that he admires within her, but whenever he tries to move their casual flirtations from talk to dating, she backs away.
Small town life has strangled Sandra as effectively as Nick tried to before he left town. Garth might be the one man who can protect her from Nick, but what he expects in return is too much. On top of that, her deceased father’s unexpected appearance in the mirror of her new home exposes long-held secrets that will change Sandra's view of her family and hometown forever.
When the last tie holding her to Edgarville is cut, Sandra runs as fast as she can, but the world outside her small-town community isn’t all she expects

The Mirror. This book was a great read! I am enjoying this series a lot. Garth was a strong alpha male to put up with all the mess Sandra dished out. Sandra has had a lot of problems in her life to deal with and she feels no one can actually help her. Garth tried helping her only to be pushed away. When Sandra gets her wish to leave the small town of Edgarville, she leaves everything and everyone behind for months. Only upon leaving she discovers that that isn't what she really wants . Sandra comes back after seeking counseling to help her through the loss of her dad years ago, and a her mom a few weeks ago , and the ghost of her dad in the mirror. I was glad she did come back and apologize to Garth who still loved her dearly. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
Poor Sandra Meyer, from an attempted rape and beating in High School by Nick; her Father dying with her Mother severely injured in a car Accident; and her best Friend Tammy Dead, all in a short amount of time, she can’t seem to catch her breath and feels she has nowhere to turn. Living in Edgarville, IL has brought nothing but misery to her and she wants OUT.
Sandra has always joked around and flirted with Garth Benson since High School. As Sandra learns Nick is back in town, on leave from the Army, Nick calls and wants to speak to her. Amy Benson (Garth’s sister) suggests that Garth and Sandra introduce their “relationship” on Facebook, to ward off any unwanted advances and trouble from Nick.
There are so many unexpected twists in this book that pack a wallop, almost every time I turned a page. The Author definitely knows how to keep your interest, so you continue reading her fascinating books until the end. I was hit with so many emotions while reading this, that surprised even me. I highly recommend this Author and all of her Books.
Sandra's tough life has given her a tough exterior that protects her tender heart. When Nick, the man who was responsible for turning her world upside down in high school returns to town, her tough exterior begins to crumble. Garth , who has loved her for as long as he can remember, vows to protect her from the physical and emotional threat that Nick brings back into Sandra's life. Ms. Brandenburg has given us another wonderful addition to her Epitaph series. Filled with troubled souls, both alive and dead, she brings to life characters rich in emotion and heart and gives us the satisfying happily-ever-after that makes a romance so much fun to read.
