Up North: Stories of Alaska

Rate this book
Alaska is the last frontier, 'The Great Land' where people go to live out their dreams. Whether fur trappers, gold miners, oil field workers, fishermen, sportsmen, or homesteaders, men and women have always gone there to start a new life and seek their fortunes. It’s a place to ditch the coat and tie, wear boots, a ball cap and, tote a gun. Commercial fishing, for many, was a way to work in the great outdoors and to work out a guy’s destiny. Up Stories of Alaska is a memoir of the ten years the author spent living and working in Alaska. It covers topics like commercial fishing, sports fishing, hunting, dramatic plane crashes and rescues. Throughout the book he has endeavored to tell the story and give the reader a taste of life on the Last Frontier describing things that he did and saw. Life is an adventure. Enjoy.
