Tarina tässä oli turha, mutta tehtävät olivat taas hyviä. Osa oli 5-vuotiaalle vielä hankalia, mutta moni toimi jo hyvin.

Although the idea of building a replica of the Internet with snow seems pretty far-fetched and sort of sad to me, I did like how the author provided information about the Internet and what exactly it is through this book's pages. Readers will enjoy following Ruby, Julia, and Django as they venture outside to create their Snow Internet and then complete 33 different activities that test their knowledge and stretch their abilities to send messages, understand how everything is connected, and understand how computers can communicate with one another. Although I could have done without the snow idea, I liked how simple and accessible the text makes all this. There are so many different activities that youngsters can't help but emerge much more knowledgeable about this topic. Reading it and thinking about how many of our tasks are now completed online reminded me of how much the world has changed during the past two decades.

These books are great learning tools, especially for kids like Israel that chose to buy and read these. They teach and illustrate the beginnings of computer programming using Ruby (a girl) as the main character. The lessons are bright, attractive, and fun with an interactive story that goes along with them.

I had a hard time understanding the analogy of building the "snow Internet," but the activities in the second half of the book are great. For grades 2 and up.

We have really enjoyed working through the Hello Ruby books together. This book aims to explain what the internet is (in its many forms) and I quite liked the metaphors that they used to show that the internet can be fun (but we should also pay attention to warnings that some parts are not suitable for children). We quite liked exploring how the internet is used in our home (and how it reaches us).

Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Nice illustrations, but that’s about it. I bought it to read it with my first grader to explain him a bit what’s behind Netflix, websites etc.
