Since I was a little girl I’ve heard people talk about books that have changed their life. Of course I never believed any of these claims because how could reading something change you so completely? It just didn’t make sense to me because I had never read something that was so profound. And truth be told, I didn’t think such a book existed. I was wrong.

Over the years my beliefs have changed. In the past couple I found myself drifting closer and closer to Christianity. Now my childhood home was always considered “Christian”, but like many other families in the world, it was by name only. We didn’t go to Church, read the Bible, Bible study or anything like that. We were, in essence, dead Christians.

And the more my interest grew in the Bible, the more I hated the idea of having a dead Christian life. So I decided if I was going to talk the talk then I better walk the walk. Not having any inkling of what I was doing, last autumn I jumped off the deep end and started Bible study. It was hard, fascinating but hard. To be perfectly honest with you, it made my brain feel like it was melting because it challenged everything I had ever been taught.

Then on October 14th 2019 I gathered enough courage to pick up and read the KJV, which was a daunting and arduous task. It took me 5 months and 5 days to read the Bible and for the first time I can finally say I understand what all those people were talking about. I’d found a book that had changed my life. It was a slow process and I didn’t even notice it was happening until all was said and done. But when I look back on it, I realize that I’m not the same person I once was. Everything has changed.

I have read the Bible and I believe what’s said in it. I can also see now all the misinformation about the Bible being passed out and about nowadays and it’s absolutely ridiculous the fallacies people or unbelievers try to pass off as truth. It boggles my mind! I find that most of these folks that hate the Bible, God the Father, and Jesus Christ have taken things out of context or have listened to other unbelievers try to explain the Bible.

One thing that is so important to understand is, if you try to read the Bible with preconceived notions and with the wrong state of mind and heart, and instead of wanting to learn God’s way, you want to criticize him, then you will not understand Him and will learn nothing. Many people do this and spread heresies and lies which they try to pass off as truth. And sadly, in doing so, they damn many people with their arrogance, stupidity and cold hearts.

To whoever reads my review please keep this in mind. If you want to know God, then pray to him. Prayer is one of the strongest things you can do. Just pray to the Lord. If you are uncertain of your faith, pray to him and ask Jesus to help you find your faith and truth. All you need is an open heart, an open mind, and a want to find Him. He will take care of the rest. And when I say pray I mean pray hard! Pray down on your knees by your bedside, fold your hands and bow your head. Show the Lord due respect and pray your heart out. Pray till you cry, pray till you sweat. Open your heart to Him.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. It goes hand in hand with faith. And one of, if not the most important part of the Bible is the gospel of Paul which tells us Christians how to save our souls. And it’s easy. It is by faith. Just believe. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Rom 10:9-10). That is all you have to do. Say it out loud to him, and if you mean what you say, then your soul is saved.

And repent! Apologize to the Lord for all the sins you’ve committed in your life, and say to him out loud something along the lines of “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner. As I repent, I put my faith in Jesus who is God who died, was buried and resurrected, so that his blood can wash away my sins. I put my faith in that alone to save me, not my good works. In Jesus name I pray amen.”

Salvation is really that simple. There are a lot of amazing and beloved stories in the Bible that teach you many things that are even still applicable to this day, but I find that most people read the Bible because they are worried about the state of their souls. Well everyone, think of this review as the cliffsnotes! I just told you what you had to do to be saved. Now hop to it!

Months ago I started to become convinced that the Bible was true and I started to believe. When I professed it out loud like that, things changed. A joy that was never there in my life suddenly became present and it’s still there today. To unbelievers and skeptics this sounds crazy, but it’s all quite true. My life has changed so much since I told Jesus that I believe and it has been for the better.

Professing and then reading the KJV and seeing what the Lord had to say about things, enriched my life in a way that nothing else ever has, or ever will. It’s absolutely amazing. The Bible is hard to read but it’s so worth it. Just be sure that if you do try to read the Bible, use the KJV. The other versions' wordings have been changed and some of the verses have lost their meaning. So stick with this one.

And some other things that are important to remember if you want to read the Bible are:

1. Christian doctrine is from Romans - Philemon.
2. Christian’s are saved by faith not of works. So if you encounter a verse that says ‘works for salvation’ or ‘works and faith’ for salvation that verse is meant for the Jews. If you find a verse in the Old Testament that has an element of faith to it, then it can apply to Christian’s as well. But if any verse contradicts Christian doctrine, then it is not meant for you. It’s Jewish.

I’d also recommend finding a good preacher to help you understand the Bible a bit before trying to read this on your own. Dr. Gene Kim and Dr. Peter S. Ruckman are excellent teachers and Bible believers. They can be found on YouTube and will help you understand things about the Bible that will blow your mind! Seriously, the Bible is AMAZING.

If you’re an atheist, agnostic, a skeptic or are just uncertain, please please please, for a while just open your heart to the possibility that Jesus Christ is real. Pray to him for clarity, truth and faith. For a long time I wanted to find truth, and the reality is that Jesus is the ultimate truth. It took me a long time to find him, about 30 years, because Lucifer and the world have tried very hard to hide Him and they’ve done a good job of it. Do not be deceived.

Give Jesus a chance. Believe, watch some sermons and Bible study videos, read the KJV and try to grow closer to God. I never thought reading a book would change me so much, but it has and I am so grateful for it. I’m happier and more content than I have ever been. On the 19th of March 2020 I finished the KJV, and after several days of finishing it, I found myself missing the Bible, almost as if it were a person. I missed reading the word of God. So I’ve started to read it again and am eager to learn and see things I didn’t catch on to the first time around.

You could study this book for a lifetime and still not know everything about it. Last year I was lost and confused about a lot of things, but I’m not anymore. What a wonderful feeling it is to be a saved Christian and to believe in and love the Lord Jesus Christ. The KJV is by far the hardest and most important book I have ever read, but boy was it worthwhile! It has changed me forever, and changed me for the better.
