“I've wanted this all my life,” he said. “I want you.”
Carter
Between running a company and a recent attempt on his life, billionaire Carter Williamson doesn't need any more stress. So when a trio of orphan children breaks into the Colorado ranch he's hiding out in, his first instinct is to just let the police handle it. That was before their spunky social worker Mia showed up.
Mia
Mia Amesworth has worked hard to make sure that the Smith kids aren't separated from each other, but she can only do so much. With her own body unable to produce children, the kids are the closest thing to a family she's got. When the handsome ranch owner offers to let the three troublemakers pay for the damages with hard work over the summer, she happily accepts. When he suggests they go on a date, she can't say yes fast enough.
Even though Carter's secret assailant keeps threatening him, he feels like he might be falling for the small town girl. And though Mia knows that a family might not be in the cards for her future, she longs to create a life with Carter.
And then, a miracle happens...
This novel is the first in New York Times bestselling author Krista Lakes' new series, "Kinds of Love". It also contains a novella, "A Hopeful Kind of Love," and a bonus novel, "Hurricane Kisses!"
Krista Lakes is a writer of romances that leave you feeling good and always have a happily ever after. She has two boys and a husband that keep her busy, not to mention two cats and a dog.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this amazing book. No spoilers in this review but if you like spunky social workers with a lot of heart and brooding alpha billionaires hiding out from the world than you will love this story. If these two can survive a little danger, 3 fabulous foster kids and some love in the mix, they will be in for quite the happy ending. So will you !! I definitely recommend it.
Ms. Lakes has done it yet again in my opinion. Over the last few years, Krista Lakes has become one of my favorite authors. I know when I pick up one of her books, I will be taken into a world of emotions. And A Forever Kind of Love, the first book in her new Kinds of Love series is no exception. I LOVED Mia and Carter’s story. Mia has wanted a child for as long as she could remember. While she was in college, she had an unplanned pregnancy, however she miscarried early on and found out that she would never be able to have children. Mia became a children’s social worker, and right not she has charge of 3 siblings, and she just received a call about 2 of them breaking a window while breaking into the nearby billionaire’s ranch. Carter is in hiding. Someone is trying to kill him. When the alarms go off that someone is breaking into his house he is understandably upset. When Carter meets his intruders, well, he does not know what to think. Then, he meets their social worker, and then, he knows exactly what to do. He puts the kids to work to pay off the breaking of the window, with the intention of getting to know Mia. I loved watching Mia and Carter become friends and falling in love, both working thru their problems. My favorite part…. The surprise, no, sorry, I am not giving any spoilers away. I was gifted with an ARC of this wonderful book for an honest opinion of this book. I can truly say, go ahead and one click this book, you will not be disappointed. Now, I can’t wait for the next in this series, A Hopeful Kind of Love, to come out. 😊 Thank you for reading my review.
5 beautiful stars!! This books is the perfect romance.
💜This is Mia and Carter's love story...
Mia is the beautiful, passionate and caring social worker. She doesn't have time for a love life. She invests all she has to helping these children and especially a set of three...
Carter is a billionaire. He doesn't so happily ever after. He can't risk it. Not when someone is threatening his life but damn if this little social worker isn't wording her way in his heart...
💭MY THOUGHTS...
I loved this story!! This is so beautiful and loving. Yes Carter can be a little hard edged but you can tell right away he has a huge heart. I love Mia, I think she is too damn cute!! And the kids are just perfect!! Is there going to be a story for Ben?!?! Laura?!!! Oh I can't wait to see!
This book was flawlessly written and flowed so beautifully. It had a twist and I enjoyed that little bit of danger and boy if my heart wasn't racing when she went to have the "talk" with Carter!! This is a great rainy day with a cup of tea read. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside!!
** l received this book as an ARC and in return I gave my honest review **
This was suck a great HEA read, the pace was great and I just loved the characters, how could you not fall in love with Carter, Mia and of course Alexander, Grayson and Lily. There was a great mix of love, Laughter suspense and passion. I can't wait to read book 2 in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Dnf at 23% The POV is all over the place and it waffles. The dialogue is forced and the premise rather ludicrous. What man in his right mind would let a group of children on his ranch, knowing someone had already made a violent attempt on his life?
I have always loved Krista Lakes' books. This is the start of a great series that has the usual Ms. Lakes' flare.
Carter and Mia were super cute together and the fact that foster kids were involved and equally sweet. This is a wholesome romance that will leave you filling fulfilled
A Wonderful Kind of Love is a very typical billionaire meets girl and happily ever after. It’s a different twist to the Cinderella story. It was a quick and fun read, with very likeable characters and of course a very sexy man. This story was really sweet and sometimes a little too cute. It was a great read with quite a nice loveable ending.
Krista Lakes has given us another awesome new book in her Kinds of Love series. This is a touching story about Mia & Carter and how their love story came to be which also involves 3 precious kids, Lily, Alexander & Grayson. Mia has a pure heart of love and hot billionaire Carter has found someone that shows him life is worth diving back into again. The 3 kids will make you laugh and they will steal your heart as well. I loved the chemistry between Mia and Carter. This is one great read!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Mia meets Carter after some foster kids break into his house. She's in charge so she has to convince the owner to take pity. He agrees to give them jobs, despite their young ages. As they visit the ranch they get to know each other better. Carter is like the Elon Musk of cars and he's been receiving death threats so he's hiding in CO.
The stalker part was not so good; many facts were not explained to my liking, such as how the stalker knew about the ranch when no one else seemed to.
This was cute but I'm not a fan of this style of writing.
This was one brilliant, heartwarming story. It was so sweet, fun and sexy. I love Krista Lakes' style, she always pulls me in. A Forever Kind Of Love was another Fantastic read. Everything is just so well thought out and detailed. I loved the build and pace. This story will melt you, inspire you and leave you breathless. I was totally captivated and could not put this story down. Mia Amesworth is a social worker with not much of a life, because she is always working. Mia knows what it is like to be in the foster system, since she experienced it herself. She has a big heart and some big dreams to try and make life easier for these forgotten children if she could just get some funds. But the love that Mia shows for the Smith's children is strong, warm and inspiring. Determined to keep them together as a family she is everything to these children. So when the boys are caught breaking into Stone Mountain Ranch and stealing a statue as a prank, she will do anything to keep this from being reported to the police. Carter Williamson is hiding out after receiving death threats at his office. He is only at his secret ranch until they catch whoever is trying to kill him. The ranch was supposed to be safe and yet two small boys break a window and get inside. But when their social worker shows up to try to get him not to press charges he is overtaken by desire, for the stunningly attractive, sweet, strong woman that is filled with passion and love for these children. So Carter comes up with a way the boys can pay him for the broken window, by working the price off as long as the lovely Mia chaperones them when they are at the ranch. I loved Mia and Carter so much. The ease they had with each other as they meet and become friends and things develop. l loved the pull they had, the great conversations, and dialogue it all had me hooked. Then add the heat and desire that is so evident in everything they say and do for one another and you will not be able to put this story down. Will these two get a HEA. Will they catch whoever is trying to kill Carter before it is to late? Fantastic Ending! Loved it! Highly Recommended!

Don't waste another minute reading this review. You need to read this book.
A Forever Kind Of Love is the first book in the Kinds Of Love Series and is about Mia and Carter. Mia is a social worker doing her best to keep three troubled siblings together. Then she gets word that they've broken into a horse ranch at the edge of town and she needs to get there before the police are called. There's no way she'll be able to keep the two younger brothers and teenage sister together if the police get involved. Mia assumes the man who called her is the ranch manager and she works out a deal with him that he won't press charges if the boys pay for the broken window by working on the ranch. Everyone quickly agrees.
Turns out, the ranch manager is actually Carter, the billionaire owner of the ranch. Though he is usually in California working, he's hiding out in his Colorado horse ranch due to death threats he's been receiving after some airbags in his cars turned out to be faulty and some people were killed. Carter listens to Mia talk to the boys about why they broke into ranch and saw the way she handled the situation and knew he wanted to get to know her, so he thought up the idea of her bringing them to the ranch as a perfect excuse to see more of her.
The kids really take a liking to working on the ranch and Carter and Mia become closer every time they see each other, with the flirting getting stronger, too. But can Carter keep himself, Mia, and the kids safe if the person threatening him finds out where he is? Just who is behind the threats? Can Carter find room in his heart (& his life) for Mia? What about the kids?
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more in this series. It was a very sweet romance with the perfect mix of heat & even intrigue to keep you wondering what will happen. I hated to put down my Kindle, I was so invested in this story. Great job, Krista!
Mia is a Social worker and a special one as she really loves the kids and wants to do everything she can for them to give them the best home possible, or the best she can offer until they find new homes. One day she gets a call that will change her life forever when it comes to three of her kids that are siblings Lily, Alexander and Grayson when the brothers broke into a Billionaires Ranch, she was never expecting Carter to come into her life, a man who made everything she knew different but she knew what she wanted and she wanted him.
What I enjoyed most about A Forever Kind of Love is watching Carter a Man who lived for his work and his Ranch and his wants or for that matter the things he never wanted to come to his attention that it might not be as bad as he always thought, but it could also have something to do with Mia and how he wanted it all with her. Mia a woman who knows what she wants and will never have but trying to make the best of the situation at hand. Together Mia and Carter will fall in love and everything will change for the better as long as they have each other.
This book was an amazing Read but everything I have read by Krista Lakes is a favorite of mine. This book has Mia a Social Worker that is just trying to help her kids stay out of trouble and together but seems they are always getting into trouble until one day a Billionaire has they work on his ranch to pay of the broken window, Carter a man who love creating cars and his ranch come across Mia and he finds that she is his missing piece to his puzzle and that he doesnt want to go through life without her in it, a love story. If you like stories like this, then A Forever Kind of Love is a must!
Cater Williamson is a billionaire car designer who is hiding on his ranch after repeated threats to his life. His security team mobilizes after a window gets broken in his house and someone enters. The culprits are two young boys who have been dared to steal something from the house so other kids will be their friends. The children give Mia's number when asked but Mia is not a parent but their social worker. Mia is frantic with the phone call because if the police get called the kids final chance to stay together as a family is over. They have a bad behavior history and the next step is to split them up. When Mia arrives and the situation is explained, Carter is kind enough to give the boys a chance to work off the cost of the window. His one demand is that Mia accompanies them. Mia agrees since she really wants to keep the family intact plus Carter is easy to spend time with. Carter is not sure what he is doing. He is supposed to be in hiding and he has never liked kids before but these kids are different. Of course their beautiful social worker is a good incentive. As the time goes by on the ranch, everyone's life get better and Carter finds some fun hiding out. Now if the person threatening him could just be stopped. This is a sweet story with a goodhearted billionaire who will do anything to please those he loves, a caring social worker who never thought she could have a family and three kids who just want to be a family. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
A Forever Kind of Love is a stand-alone book that is fun, sexy, caring, suspenseful with lots of underlying stories that keep you reading until the last page! ! What a well written book! !
Carter Williamson is a billionaire; car designer who doesn’t want kids has been receiving death threats from an unknown person and has gone into hiding at one of his many properties. His ranch has lots of security and cameras but somehow to Smith boys (who are being watched by older sister Lily) break into his house to steal something that belongs to the billionaire (they do not know his name) so the kids at school will be their friends and they refuse to talk to him except to say call Mia Amesworth….she was totally not what he expected….in a social worker.
Mia Amesworth is a social worker who is determined to keep this family of three together…when she gets a call about the boys and is told she has 5 minutes to get to the ranch (which is 10 minutes away) before the cops are called and Mia knows this could be what breaks this family apart. She calls Lily and finds out the boys snuck away. Once she gets the story out of the boys, Carter decides they must do work on the ranch to pay for breaking the window so Lily says she wants to help too.
Can Mia and Carter come together as more than friends, will working on the ranch be what the Smith’s need to keep them out of trouble and will they find that family can be something other than blood related and find their HEA???
I give A Forever Kind of Love by Krista Lake five stars. This is the book one of Krista’s Kind of Love series which is a small-town billionaire love story. I have read every one of Krista’s books and just like all the other ones I absolutely loved this book. I felt the author had a great writing style and I feel it was a very well written book. Carter is a billionaire business man whose life has recently been threatened. He has decided to move into his Colorado Ranch to hide out until the threat on his life has disappeared. Little did he know that the ranch was going to be broken into by a trio of orphans. Carter thought about calling the cops until the trio’s spunky social worker shows up. Mia, the spunky social worker, has been working hard to keep the three siblings together. She feels they are the closest thing she will ever have to children since she was told that she would never be able to have children of her own. When she gets the call that they are in trouble she is worried they will be separated for good until Carter decides to allow them to work on the Ranch to pay for the broken window. Once they start working on the Ranch the sparks start to fly between Carter and Mia. Do they get their happily ever after? You have to read the book to find out! There is hint of violence but nothing in too much detail and there was some sexual content but I felt the scenes are tastefully done. This book will give you the warm and fussy feelings we all love to have when reading a romance book and I feel it is a must read! Enjoy!

Another amazing romance from Krista Lakes! A Forever Kind of Love is book one of her new series Kinds of Love, and she has definitely triumphed once again. I’m always a pushover for strong female characters and protective alpha males as well. Both Mia and Carter fit perfectly into that mold for me.
Despite some inner turmoil from which she suffers, Mia’s strength and goodness encompass her soul, and I love how deeply she cares for the children. But the capacity for love she has inside instantly cultivates from the moment she meets Carter. Though he has never thought of having a family of his own, from the instant he meets Mia the direction of Carter’s life rapidly changes. As the children and Mia fill the empty spaces in his heart, Carter quickly become protective and bursting with love for them all. The nearly instant connection Carter and Mia share almost to the point of being able to read each other’s minds and hearts is fantastic and magical making me quickly fall in love with their story. And the sparks that fly between them both in and out of the bedroom is captivating and positively electrifying.
Krista Lakes has always been one of the top authors on my list of favorites and with this new series she has unquestionably solidified her spot. I’m looking forward to more of her fantastic characters and the expansion of my heart as it fills with more love for them all.
Another hit for Krista Lakes. I loved this story. Mia is a social worker who grew up in the system and she has taken it under her belt to help three children stay together as a family instead of being split up. Carter is hiding out on his ranch. Carter is a billionaire who nobody knows in town, t\the town has their guesses but no one has really met him. The two boys in the family that Mia is watching over go to the ranch and break in and attempt to steal a trophy with Carter's name on it. They are caught she receives a call and head out to the ranch where she encounters the owner whom she does not know about. After talking with her, Carter agrees to let the boys work at his ranch to earn the money to pay for the window they broke, but she is part of the deal she must be there to watch over them. Lily their sister also wants to help them earn the money so she agrees to help. Soon Carter and Mia grow attracted to each other, she learns Carter has stated he doesn't want kids and she can't have kids according to her doctors. Things lead Carter and Mia together and one things leads to another and she is pregnant but there is someone trying to hurt Carter and he is trying to protect them all. Read this great story about a love that draws all closers together and makes everyone change their minds.
This book was a nice change of pace for me. It was a sweet and clean romance with some intrigue and some surprises. Carter is a billionaire car maker who has secretly retreated to his Colorado ranch after a recent attempt on his life. Mia is a social worker who is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that every child assigned to her is permanently placed in a loving home. At this time, she is very attached to three orphaned children she is assigned to place. When she received a call from the billionaire ranch that the two boys have been caught breaking and entering, she rushes there to stop the ranch manager from involving the police, because involving the law may result in the children being separated and moved into different foster homes. When they got to the heart of why the boys broke into the ranch, Carter decided to let the children work for him over the summer to pay for the damages they caused. Their sister also volunteered to help them and Mia was drafted to supervise them.
Carter and Mia’s relationship developed slowly and evenly. After interacting with him, she can’t help but be drawn to Carter and he is impressed by her dedication to the kids and her job. As they got to know each other more, they start to like each other and is willing to see where their relationship goes. Carter is willing but he is afraid to care more for Mia and the children when the threat on his life is now closer to home. Carter must now work harder to eliminate the threat as he grows care more for Mia and the children. Again, this story was sweet and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The kids and their interactions with the adults are just too cute. I’ll be looking out for more books from Krista Lakes. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed the romantic love that blossomed between our Hero, Carter, and our heroine, Mia. The relationship that grew between the family of foster children under Mia's care, as their social worker, and Carter was also heartwarming. With that said, there were several details surrounding Carter's story that were hard to believe. He was supposed to be keeping a low profile on his undisclosed ranch due to dangerous threats on his life. When Carter met Mia and the kids for the first time, I would think he should have used an assumed name or persona, since none of the people in their town knew the name or anything about the ranch owner. Instead he told them exactly who he was, and that he designed cool cars. Although Mia may have been able to keep a secret, young children definitely can't help but talk about their experience on his ranch, even though it was supposed to be hard work to pay off the window they broke.
Additionally, Carter's security team seemed a bit inept since the suspect was able to get onto the supposed secure ranch several times and close enough to Carter to have killed him. But...this story is meant to be a fairy tale romance and not a murder mystery so these details did not prevent me from really enjoying the story.
I really liked this book. The characters are interesting and well written. The storyline isn't something that I have come across yet. It has horses (what can I say, I love horses).
Mia cares so much about the three siblings that she is in charge of. They are in the last home available that will let them stay together. When she gets the call about the boys breaking a window she fears the worst.
Carter and his security team are on high alert when they alarm goes off and they find two young boys and a broken window. With death threats coming and an attempted bombing already, they have to make sure things are really as they seem.
One thing leads to another and a wonderful story is born. The attraction between Mia and Carter is great and the bonds that are formed with the kids are sweet. I highly recommend that you give this book a read. I know that I'll be reading it again.
I always seem to enjoy Krista Lakes and A Forever Kind of Love fits that bill - I really enjoyed it.
Carter a billionaire trying to get away from it all hides out in Colorado - he needs a break and this is just the place to do that. When he meets Mia a social worker from the area sparks fly in more ways than one - she is working with the Smith children who she desperately wants to stay together but they keep getting into trouble which is making her job that much harder. Of course spending more time with Carter is great and the sparks fly for the two - when it comes out that Carter has someone after him it ups the intensity factor. Can he keep Mia and the kids safe?
I love the way Ms Lakes writes - her dialog between the characters is fantastic even with the kids. She ups the suspense factor which I loved and there are a few twists throughout the book that kept me on my toes. The pace is great and the resolution at the end was well done.
Mia is a social worker who received a call in regards to two of her boys got into trouble. Wanting everything to work out for this family who is on their last chance, she's hoping to not get the cops involved. The owner let the boys along with their sister work off payment for the broken window at the ranch, as long as Mia was there to supervise. Carter is the billionaire who owns the ranch. He's actually hiding out there due to death threats, and is immediately attracted to Mia. When Mia figured out who Carter initially was, she keeps remembering that he doesn't want kids, and she was told that she no longer could have kids. So when she ends up pregnant, she is surprised, but unable to tell Carter before the person trying to kill Carter comes for him. You have to read to find out how it all ends. ❤️ This book is full of love, and the characters blend perfectly. Love ❤️ "I voluntarily received an ARC of this book for my honest review."
I really loved this new series by Krista Lakes!! Who doesn't love a hot, sexy, caring billionaire!! This book has romance, mystery and lots of love. When billionaire Carter Williamson has death threats, he retreats to his ranch in Colorado where he meets 3 foster kids and their social worker Mia Amesworth. The chemistry between Carter and Mia are instantaneous and hot!! The sex between them is smoking hot!! Then there is the love for these 3 kids you cant help but be drawn in!!! This book definitely show cases some of the problems with Foster Care. We definitely need more money to protect and provide for them. Loved this books so much!! Can't wait for the next book!! This book is a stand alone with no cliff hanger but you will definitely want to continue on to book 2!! I know I do!!
Carter is a billionaire hiding out at his ranch due to death threats. When three children somehow get through his security and break into his house, he meets Mia, their social worker. She intrigues him and he suggests that the kids work off the cost of the window by helping on the ranch.
What I liked: The alternate POV's - I feel that I get more out of a story when I know how both sides are thinking. I also enjoyed the building of their relationship - it wasn't insta-love, but very realistic...as realistic as life with a billionaire can be. Those grand billionaire gestures that Carter used to woo Mia- wow! The story was quite suspenseful toward the end and a beautiful HEA made my heart happy.
What I didn't like: there was nothing I didn't like about this book!.
NOTE: I received an ARC of this book - my review is voluntary.
Krista Lakes has done it again, another winner and 5 stars at that. A heartwarming story with a Mia, a social worker trying to protect three siblings from 'the system' and keep them together. She is thrown together with secret billionaire Carter when the boys break into his ranch to steal a trophy. Carter has been hiding at his ranch. from someone who wants to kill him. Carter has made it clear that he does not like or want kids and her doctor has told her that she's not able to conceive. This story will warm your heart as Mia and Carter become close as they protect and nurture the three siblings. Danger still abounds as the killer is still after Carter. Mia ends up pregnant and the love story continues. A really sweet story that was a joy to read. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Carter is a billionaire CEO, a designer and manufacturer of unique electric cars. Loving his work, he has no time for serious relationships and no desire to have kids. However, he has received death threats that keeps him on edge. He hides out on his horse ranch in Colorado. Mia is a social worker working hard to keep a small family of two boys and a girl together in the foster system. But the boys keep acting out and they are on the edge of being separated. They slipped onto Carter's ranch, broke a window and tried to steal a trophy. That is what sent Mia flying down the roads to meet the owner and beg him not to call the police. A delightful story of how the lives of these five people changed into a new direction. I recommend this sweet story of a forever kind of a love. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.
