Undeserving

Rate this book
Warning: This isn’t a romance, but instead a tale of love between two despairing people, from two different worlds, both aching for something more.

Debbie Reynolds is a runaway, New York City-bound. Living on the road comes with many challenges—fighting for her next meal, seeking safe places to sleep, and dodging men with less than honorable intentions, all while searching for meaning in a life she finds painful and pointless.

Damon “Preacher” Fox, vice president of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club, has been in prison for club-related crimes. As his release draws near, he begins to reevaluate his choices in life, realizing that if he stays with the club, this won’t be his last stint behind bars. Suddenly Preacher finds himself doubting everything he’s ever known, wishing for a life beyond the club.

When Preacher and Debbie’s paths cross, they find in each other a sense of peace they had been lacking. But life is about to catch up with Preacher, and Debbie, desperate to keep the one person who’s ever shown her any kindness, finds herself caught between forces far deadlier and more powerful than she could have ever imagined.

This is Debbie and Preacher’s story.

At the end, we should all go back to the beginning,
if only to remind ourselves that we once lived.

I knew Preacher's story would be epic and Madeline Sheehan sure delivered!

"I gotta start at the beginning. Lemme start at the beginning, baby girl. Lemme tell you the whole damn story."

For those of you asking the question as to whether this book was worth the wait?

Madeline Sheehan has done it again! If you're like me, you've been waiting a long time for the next book in the 'Undeniable' series. This series is probably my favorite biker series of all of them, and there are plenty of them to choose from. And let me tell you, this book was worth the wait!

When I first saw that the book was going to center on Preacher, I have to admit that I didn't expect to love it. After all, he was Eva's father and was already kind of old in 'Undeniable'. For some reason, I had envisioned a present-day romance with an elderly Preacher and some new love interest. Before you succumb to the fit of nausea those thoughts will leave you with, know that I was completely wrong. Thank God for that!

Although the story does feature a present-day Preacher, along with Eva and other characters that we've grown to love over the course of this series, the actual love story takes place in the past. Dying, Preacher finally opens up to Eva about his one true love. He has plenty of secrets to share and the truth about her mother will shatter Eva's ideas about who her mother was.

Everything that Preacher told Eva about her mother, was a lie. She wasn't a junkie. She didn't walk out on Eva...at least not in the way that she thought. These were all lies. The truth was so much more - more beautiful, more loving, and far more painful. Sometimes it is too hard to face the truth.

Preacher's love story was heartfelt and incredibly tragic. I could not put this book down. Start to finish, I was hooked.

He first meets Eva's mom, Debbie Reynolds, aka "Wheels", when she tries to steal his wallet. From that point forward, the two form an unlikely friendship. Preacher is fresh out of prison and uncertain about the direction of his life, especially where his father's motorcycle club is concerned. He recognizes the desperation and resilience in the beautiful, young runaway that tries to best him.

This book is a beautiful and highly emotional. Your heart will melt, and it will break. This story made me feel elated and also completely devastated. There was so much tragedy in Preacher's past, but also so much love and happiness.

I won't give too much away, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I'll just say that this is one book that you don't want to miss if you're a fan of this series. It is phenomenal!

All. The. Stars.

Wow.

No wonder people were so pissed they had to wait for so long. I forgot how good she was. Because books like this? They are far and few between. And I don’t care if I have to wait 5 more years for another book. Just as long as I get to read it.

5+ Stars.......Loved it!!

I read the first book in this series way back in 2014 when Biker books were totally my thing.Over the years my tastes have changed dramatically and I kind of forgot about this series...this one wasn't even on my radar until i saw a friend's status update and to be honest I wasn't that interested in Preacher's story but I thought, why not?
My God....I'm so glad I decided to read it.It's quite simply stunning...I honestly don't have enough words to describe how much I was captivated here.

It's about,

Love,
Loss,
Betrayal,
How one chance encounter can have such a dramatic effect on so many lives.

It's,

Dark,
Gritty,
Happy,
Sad.

The story of Preacher and Debbie....
Two worlds collide and the outcome left me stunned.

Preacher is kind of lost, not sure which world he belongs to anymore when he meets Debbie,a teenage runaway.Don't go into this one expecting lots of hot, dirty, biker sex because it's not that kind of book. It's about two people finding each other at a point in their lives when they both needed something

I loved,

-There is no insta lust/love here which made the story so much more poignant and believable.

-told from past to present, which made it all the more dramatic.

-the supporting characters all played their part, even if some weren't likable.

-my heart literally broke for Preacher and Debbie as their story unfolded.

There is nothing I didn't love about this book. It's a tough read,though....at one point I couldn't even read the words through my tears.I especially found reading Eva's pov and Preacher's towards the end unbelievably emotional.

Conclusion: this book wrecked me in the worst and best way.

From MS Instagram page (http://bit.ly/2smx4Jk):

Undeserving update:
Undeserving is currently in editing! And ARCs have gone out! Give or take a few days, it looks like publication will be in two weeks.

UPDATE #3 as of Oct. 2015
From MS facebook fan page->
UnDeserving (UnDeniable #5) Update.

Good morning!
I have a bit of bad news, although it's not all THAT bad, but I hate being a disappointment no matter how small the disappointment may be.

UnDeserving will not be coming out on November 12. I'm behind schedule, as usual, and am working with my editor to find a more suitable publication date for the both of us. I know there are some of you that are expectantly waiting for this book, and UnDying as well, and believe me, I want to get them to you...

It shouldn't be all that much longer, but I have to allow time for finishing, editing, reviewing, read-thru's, and so on, and as we creep closer to my original date, I'm starting to worry that publishing on November 12 just isn't leaving me enough time.

Anyway, I just wanted to keep you all updated on my progress. Soon, I should have a new publication date for you.

As always, thank you for your patience, and for enjoying the UnDeniable series as much as I do.
Have a beautiful week!
xx Madeline

UPDATE #2 as of July 28, 2015
FROM MS->
UnDeserving (UnDeniable #5) will be released on 11/12/15.
I can hardly wait until you get to meet young Preacher! His story has been a long time in the making, from waaaay back when I started writing UnDeniable and is such a crucial piece in relation to the entire series.
As always, thank you so much for your patience!

Warning: This isn’t a love story; it is a tragedy, a cautionary tale about the consequences of forbidden love between two people who tried to defy the rules defined for them and failed.

I love this story, but I love it for different reasons than the other books in the series. For me it was watching as one of the pivotal characters in the Undeniable series comes full circle. It is a story filled with beginnings and endings, of not only Preacher’s story, but the ushering in of different epochs of his journey. As one door opens, another door is blown to smithereens, and there’s so much dust and debris, that you can’t see clearly the aftereffects until it’s too late, and by then another explosion occurs. This story, although there is romance, it’s more about love. Love between a girl and boy, between a son and his mother, between a father and daughter, between Preacher and the club, and between Preacher and Deuce. It wrecked me at times, and haunted me for days afterwards. Once again, I want to mention that this series contains violence, and illegal activities, but it also is filled with love and tenderness. And a reminder that this ain't our world, it's their world, their love story, and their rules.

Undeserving is the prequel in Madeline Sheehan’s Undeniable series, the fifth book in the series. Sheehan swings off course in this installment, instead of writing the continuing saga of the Horsemen, she takes us back to a time before there was a Cox or Ripper, heck, this story is pre-Deuce, but if you keep your eyes sharp, you may catch a glance of a young Cole West. I’m going to warn you that this is the darkest book in the series, if you are only wanting hot biker sex scenes or to read about a bad boy saved by the power of love, then save your money, this isn’t THAT book. This is Preacher’s story, the only man who could on occasion strike fear into Deuce, so you must know by now that Preacher doesn’t do fluff. However, if you ever wanted to see what the Silver Demons MC was like before Damon “Preacher” Fox turned it into one of the most notorious crime syndicates, his rise to power, or how Eva come to exist, then this is the book for you. So if you’re ready, jump on the back of Preacher’s ’69 Chopper and prepare for the most emotional, scariest, gut-wrenching ride. P.S. This story is not mascara proof, so be prepared.

So the story begins with a death bed confession. That confession grows to be more than just a simple admission, it takes on a life of its own and before you know it, it snowballs into this story involving many lives. Up to this point, not a lot is known about Preacher’s past. Fans of the series will recall a particular scene in Undeniable when Eva throws up to Preacher the fact that he was twenty-four when he met her mom, a sixteen year old junkie that ended up deserting her. As this story unfolds I realize as Eva does, that everything that I thought I knew about Preacher, Tiny, One-eyed Joe, even Frankie Deluva….well, I realize that I don’t know jack shit. Hell, I’m Slitty, I’ve known these guys for a few years, but I really don’t. Back to the story, Preacher is on the road, running away from his responsibilities when he encounters a runaway named “Debbie”. Neither has any intention of seeing the other again, except that fate has other plans, not to mention that Debbie has Preacher’s wallet. We get an insight to the reason that Debbie is on the run, it isn’t pretty, and as much as Debbie tries to be tough, I feel sorry for her down to my bones. She is just a young girl, a young girl who has seen a lot of the ugly, and doesn’t know how to handle when someone beautiful wants to help her. Preacher, lawdy, that man has a bigger conscience than any biker than I’ve read about so far, but he has a libido the size of the other bikers too. But honest to God, Preacher displays a tenderness that is off the charts, and at times it’s swoon-worthy, and at times it’s humorous because you can envision the internal struggle. In the previous installments, love saves the outlaw Horsemen, it blooms like a flower and changes his course for the better, but in Preacher’s story, love takes hold, and instead of blooming like a rose, it grows like kudzu strangling the very essence of goodness out. Love makes a person vulnerable, and in the underworld vulnerable will get you dead, and before long, the reader witnesses how love takes a good man and places him on the path to the dark side.

If I had to choose one word to describe this book, I would say “prophetic”. This book includes several subtle clues or hidden messages about the outcome of Preacher, Debbie, and others. Towards the end, you see that the very wishes and desires come true, but Christ, no one would have expected the price that had to be paid. My second choice would be “contradictory”, because the best thing to happen to Debbie, ends up being the worse thing to happen to Debbie. The tenderness and connection that Preacher has been craving becomes torment for him. As much as Preacher protests that he is the opposite of his old man, his life would have been a repeat of his mom and dad’s had it not been for an unforeseen interruption. It’s the beginning and ending of love, life, loss, then repeat. I watched as a man with light turns dark, and I could see it the minute that it takes hold, and I wanted to call out to him to make it stop. And lastly, we read that a man named “Tiny” is actually a one-man sweating machine the size of a house.

One of the true joys of reading Sheehan’s books is the assortment of eclectic characters, and she writes them in a way that you can identify someone that you know with each one. Never has Sheehan showcased her talent for multi-dimensional characters as with Undeserving; from the vulnerable street rat Debbie, hippie Ginnie, Jersey girl Sylvia, to the despicable Rocky. Sheehan also has a talent for throwing in some humor when the reader least expects it, “Females, give’em an inch, and they take your fuckin’ wallet”. Once again Sheehan tackles the subject of an outlaw biker and an underage girl, and once again she does it in a manner that she is only telling a story, not advocating it. Sheehan lays it out bare naked, she doesn’t attempt to dress it up, she doesn’t try to gloss it over, and she doesn’t apologize. Sheehan is also fearless in allowing her characters to age, die, and dealing with life events. Deuce and Eva exemplifies Sheehan’s talent, their story is still endearing and fresh, never appearing stodgy or limp. Did I just write Deuce and limp in the same sentence …bwahahahahahahahaha.

I want to thank Madeline for the opportunity to say goodbye to Preacher. I was floored and upset in UnBeloved when his death occurred; I wasn't prepared, and I felt cheated of getting to mourn for him. I didn't know at the time that she was already working on Undeserving. Not everyone gets the opportunity to say goodbye, especially in Preacher's world. So goodbye Preacher, thank you for all the angst, for the surprises (he did shoot Deuce), for making me embrace your den of outlaws, for being the imperfect father who tried to do his best, for giving advice such as fucking a clubwhore was the solution for many a problem, for forcing Deuce to become a better husband and president, for also giving Deuce hell and getting on his nerves, for making that Jersey girl Sylvia to shut her trap, for giving a home to bumbling bikers and club hookers, for the many laughs although inside you were longing for that special girl, for all that you sacrificed (and you sacrificed plenty), and lastly, thank you for the memory of that one day when you made a girl who had a shit life light up like the 4th of July by telling her “I noticed you.” May you be reunited in the afterworld with all the people who you didn't get the opportunity to tell goodbye, surrounded with the smell of clove cigarettes and Summertime playing in the background. Goodbye my friend, you'll be sorely missed.

And to my new favorite side character Tiny, thank you for making me laugh through the tears. Beautiful things often come in ugly packages; I love you….with extra sugar.

Undeserving is the story we've all been waiting for. Preachers. It felt like I waited years for this book, and when it finally went live, I bought it and let it sit on my kindle a little bit longer. I'm not sure why, but I regret doing it. This book was completely heartbreaking, but I loved it so much!

Preacher is telling his daughter Eva everything. The real story about him and Eva's mother. The story she was never told. Preacher and Debbie loved each other, but their story is more of a tragedy than a romance. I knew it would be, going into it. Still, it didn't make reading it any easier. There was a lot going on in this book and I loved going into Preacher's past. This book was super emotional, but gah! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! They are definitely the best MC books out there in my opinion.

What can I say Madeline Sheehan hasn't lost her touch! This amazing writer once again delivered another heart stopping, emotionally climatic story and reduced me into a puddle of tears!

Remember that old television series, Cold Case Files? How police detectives solved decades old forgotten true crime murders and you were taken along for the ride? Only after the mystery had been solved you had that lump lodged firmly in the back of your throat, weepy eyed and emotional from the scenes....that's what reading this book was like! Just throw in some major power alpha males, who don't take shit from anyone and you have an explosive mix!

Damon “Preacher” Fox, vice president of the Silver Demons motorcycle club! Church now!

Deborah Reynolds: She was used to the judgment and condemnation of strangers, but coming from Preacher it had felt worse than usual, and much more personal.

Sometimes when a series takes such a long break, like this one did, it's hard to get back into it. It's happened a lot to me where I guess my tastes just changes and when I start up a once loved series, I end up hating it. Well that was not the case with this book, no matter how much I feared it would be.

Even after so long with not reading these characters I jumped right back into the world Madeline Sheehan had created and loved all of it. Her writing still has the ability to suck me in and hold me captive while I enjoy her stories. I loved these characters and felt so much for them it was like reading about my best friends. Preacher is a character that we've known since the beginning, but the telling of his own story will have you seeing him in a completely different way.

This is not a love story that will have you happy sighing all over yourself, this is a heartbreaking tale of love that will leave you a blubbering mess. And yet you will love every second of that pain. If you're a fan of this series and wondering if it's going to be worth the wait, it is and you need to drop everything to read it.

Dear Author,

Before I start to wander in a frenzied and flattering speech can I just say something? Every time a book comes out in this series I feel betrayed and affronted because *gasps* where the hell is ZZ's book?! I've been waiting for ZZ's book for fucking ever!

Lie, I've been waiting for it since I finished book #2 in 2013. Not to mention the three years you took to deliver this one. That was just cruel and mean to us, your fans. Thank you very much.

As you can see, until a few days ago, I was NOT a happy bunny.
That said and rant over, I forgive you.
I forgive you for the long waiting and not giving me ZZ's story just yet.

I forgive you, because I didn't want Preacher's story. *hides face in shame*
But I thought: oh, well... go on then, give it to me.

And you, you evil talented author, gave us such a beautiful, powerful and moving love story that I feel ashamed for not trusting you.

I forgive you, because your magic writing.
I forgive you, because this book wrecked me.
I forgive you, because this story consumed me.
I forgive you, because I was spellbound by your words.
I forgive you, because this was a sublime page turner.
I forgive you, because you are a damn talented story teller.
I forgive you, because of all butterfly fluttering feelings.
I forgive you, because your stunning imagination.
I forgive you, because it exceeded all my expectations.
I forgive you, because my tearful eyes and spilled tears were the proof that your story was remarkable.
I forgive you, because you made me feel overwhelmed in a whirlwind of uncontrollable emotions I rarely find nowadays.
I forgive you, because Preacher's story smashed it and it will stay with me for a long time.

I'm in awe even with the title. I couldn't think a better title for this book. Undeserving is a complex word.

It also carries such a strong and heavy meaning and as I think about it again, writing my ramblings, I can't help but feel the tears coming.

I'm placing Undeserving on my 6 Stars shelf, because it was brilliant.
Thank you so very much for writing Preacher’s story.

Love,

Overall Opinion: This was just as heartbreaking as I thought it would be! I ending a blubbering mess, BUT it was just what I wanted too!! Every once in a while I'm in the mood for a good cry, and this fit the bill just right. It definitely isn't rainbows and unicorns with a sweet HEA in the end, so don't take the author's warning lightly. It is about two lost people finding love in each other. It shows that sometimes our heroes and heroines don't get a HEA when the odds are stacked against them. It was tragically real ~ and I really appreciated that!

I only have one big question in the end, and that is the reason why my rating isn't higher (POTENTIAL BIG SPOILER)

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Debbie and Preacher's story. The story starts when Preacher is in the hospital dying of cancer, and he is finally telling his daughter the truth about her mother, Debbie. Debbie is on the run from her past, and she ends up with Preacher after a theft gone wrong. Preacher is freshly out of prison and is heavily debating his future in his father's mc, and kind of on the run as well. They both find kindred spirits in each other, and the more time they spend together the stronger their connection becomes. They eventually cross the line from friendship to something more and fall in love.

POV: This alternated between Debbie, Preacher's and Eva's POV (and a few small parts in Duece's POV).

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed, and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings.

H rating: 4.5 stars. Preacher. I really liked him! I was surprised I liked him as much as I did tbh, because he was always kind of iffy in the other books. He was so loyal and I liked how much he cared for his family.

h rating: 3.5 stars. Debbie. I liked her, but I wanted her to be more honest/up front with Preacher at times.

Sadness level: Moderate/high. I cried, and I did need tissues for this one.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: No

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: Not IMO

Separation: Not technically

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This definitely had closure, but I wouldn't call it a HEA ending. Sorry I'm being vague, but don't want to ruin it!

How I got it: I paid the $3.99 on Amazon for it.

Safety: This one should be either Safe with exception or Not Safe for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

Genre: Romance
Type: Book 5 of Undeniable series
POV: Third Person
Rating:

After being freed from a prison sentence, Damon (Preacher) Fox had an existential crisis. As the VP of Silver Demons MC, he started to reevaluate his role within the club. He was riddled with indecision until a chance meeting with a runaway changed the course of his life.

Debbie Reynolds was young and desperate. After running away from her past, she scraped by to survive. Meeting Preacher gave her hope amidst her bleak situation. But coming from two different worlds came with different sets of challenges in order to earn the happiness they deserved.

Undeniable was my first ever MC book. After finished reading my first reaction was "WTF did I just read and why did I like it so much?" lol! Since then it has become my favorite MC series. I was disappointed when the series went on a hiatus and so glad it's now back in track.

On the one hand, he wanted to fuck her, and on the other, he wanted to save her. Were both possible? Or was one going to cancel out the other?

I like how we get to see Preacher in a different light. Before he was known as the hardass leader, he was just a young man with self doubt while carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

There was nothing more for her out there, nothing better waiting around the corner. And everything she’d been so desperately seeking were nothing more than the pipe dreams of a foolish girl.

I sympathized with Debbie's situation. For someone so young she had to grow up fast. Even though I didn't agree with some of her action, I understood her desperation and naivety.

“You’re so stupid,” she continued, her voice cracking. “You’re so lucky and you don’t even realize it. I wish every day I had a family like yours.”

I like how the story was set up with scenes from the past with bits and pieces of the present. It was nice to learn about their relationship. I especially like how their love grew organically. However, the beginning was a little slow for me and (since this story is a prequel) already knowing or could guess what would happen in the future took a bit of possible surprise factor.

Undeserving is a story of two individuals balancing each other while they're at a crossroad of their lives. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Note 1:
I missed Crazy Frankie and I love him in Undeniable. I really wish he'll get his story one day. Even just a novella would make me happy.

Note 2:
ZZ has been my favorite since the beginning. While I'm excited for his book I'm also worried because I'm not sure I'd like the direction his story is going lol!

"No matter what my father had done, and I knew his sins were many, he would always be the first man I'd ever loved, and the man I still measured every other man against."

description

“At the end, we should all go back to the beginning, if only to remind ourselves that we once lived."

Vemos la historia de amor de Preacher y Devie, entrelazada en la tristeza de Eva al ver a su padre morir poco a poco.

“I was losing my daddy. It didn’t matter that I was a grown woman with children of my own. He would always be my daddy."

“Me and Deuce. All his sharp and jagged edges may not align perfectly with mine, yet I loved... "

description

“He couldn’t understand it—why I loved Frankie despite all he’d put me through. And that was okay, because most of the time neither could I. Love was irrational like that—irrational, uncontainable and unexplainable."

I put this book on my TBR list 14 months ago. In that time, the author has not given any type of possible (or reliable) release date nor has she answered even one question posted on this book's page. Frankly I find it a bit rude to not acknowledge your customers/fans. I have lost complete interest at this point. I respect an author's creative process, I just feel that authors should in turn respect their fans who WANT to spend their hard earned money on books enough to at lease post an update every few months on the status of their highly anticipated books. I don't think it's too much to ask.

ETA updated time frame. It's now over 2 years between books, if she was trying to kill the series, a simple update would be nice.

Holy freaking hell!!

There are so many things that I love about this story!! It is a story that stealthily seeps into your mind until you suddenly realize that it has taken over your brain and you can think of nothing but the characters and the storyline and you hope your kids don't mind eating pizza because that is the only way they are going to get fed.

So many things happen in this book, and this review is going to be more than a little vague, but I don't want to give anything away.

Although he was never a main character, Preacher has always been an important part of the Undeniable series. He's the father of Eva, runs the East Coast with an iron fist and is the only person on the planet who truly scares the fucking shit out of Deuce.

This is the story of how Preacher became Preacher.

WOW!!! I LOVED it!! It was so worth the wait! Anybody that was a fan of this series and decided to give up on it because of the wait is crazy! You missing an awesome book my friends!

Preacher is twenty two and is sent to prison for two years. When he gets out he's a different person. He's lost and not sure where he belongs. He takes off one night leaving his family and club behind. It's the only life he's ever known. But his dad is tough and Preacher is tired of being treated like one of his soldiers. His head is all foggy and he's just not sure about anything any more.

Debbie is sixteen and living on the streets. Shes on the run from a mother who didn't listen to her and an abusive step father. She's a pro at picking pockets. She's dirty and hungry and very desperate after she gets dropped off at a run down truck stop. She gets into some trouble and Preacher is there to help her out. Only Debbie has trouble trusting anyone and runs off with his wallet.

These two run into each other again and so their story begins. Their story is about two lost souls who find love with each other. It's about losing family and having to become something you weren't sure you wanted in the first place. It's about revenge and betrayal. Its about becoming parents and not sure if you're going to do everything right. It's about a love that you weren't looking for but found and never stopped loving that person until you took your last breath. It's about a daughter that was lied to her whole life about her mom and grand parents but needed to know the truth. It's about a club of brothers that are loyal to the end.

This book jumped from the present to the past and I for one loved that we got more of Eva and Deuce and the others. I love this series and can't wait for more! Especially ZZ's book! I'm not going to lie! I snuck back there way before I finished Preachers book and read the Sneak Peek! Lol!! It's going to be so good!

I read some where a while back where Madeline posted on FB that she got tons and tons of hate mail over the wait for this book. I can't imagine what that felt like. How awful!! We all have a life outside of reading (well at least I hope you do lol) and I'm sure that's the same for authors. I read that being an author is not her full time job and she had health issues and also took time off from this series to write with another author. So Madeline I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about all of that and that this book was so worth the wait and I loved it! I'll be over here waiting patiently for ZZ's book:))

No new updated review except as before a beautiful moving story. I can’t say anything negative about this series. I’m so happy MS is writing again and ZZ story is on its way.

I've waited to try and put a few lines together as this book has been on my mind all day.
Along with many others I've waited patiently for Damon Preachers Fox story. And it didn't disappoint, in fact it totally consumed me from start to finish.
I wasn't surprised, this author can write. Even with a different feel than her others in the Undeniable series it was up there once again but taking it to a new level.

There aren't alot of books that leave me with this feeling of being swallowed up and taken in by a story of a love between two people.
Preachers and Debbies story was a story to be told and by God did Madeline Sheehan tell it.
And the tears fell..... but I could still also feel this tremendous warm feeling as the story unfolded.
Eva, Deuce and many others play a part but the stars were a couple whose love slowly unfolded and stayed till the end.

Thank you Madeline Sheehan for a brilliantly written story. Moving and heartfelt. It's a story that will stay with me for a long time.

Next ZZ's and I'm ready .......

So, here's the thing. I avoid non HEA's like the plague, no exceptions! Yet I couldn't wait to read Preacher's story, even knowing there was no hearts and sunshine ending for him. I'm so glad I read it, even though it had me in tears .... that ending gah! I fill up every time I think of it.

I loved seeing the other side of Preacher, how he loved Debbie, Eva and his family. I loved seeing how he was shaped into the man he became because of circumstances out of his control; and although at first glance that man is not everyone's hero, he for sure was Debbie's.

A tragic yet very necessary addition to the series.

I have to admit that I was not really interested in reading Preacher's story. I mean, if you read Unbeloved, you know what happens and I just wasn't feeling that. Plus...it's been three years since the last book came out and well, my interest was waning. But then the reviews started coming out and while I didn't read them, it wasn't hard to catch words that made it sound promising so of course, I had to read it!

And I'm glad I did. I had no idea that I would come to LOVE Preacher as much as I did. Preacher and Debbie were so good together, I just didn't want their story to end!

It starts out with Preacher just getting out of prison and running into a homeless Debbie who tries to steal his wallet. His intentions are good, he really just wants to help her out and off the streets but as they become closer, she becomes invaluable to him...something he didn't know he needed. I also loved how much he struggled to stay away from her sexually, after all, she was only sixteen when they met.

I really enjoyed Debbie as well. I was curious about her story and wanted to know more. I was also happy to find out her true feelings for Eva.

Then, the horrible event happened that propelled Preacher into becoming President. That was really sad...and the person behind it was sooo creepy!

The story is told in the past and the present. I loved getting more of Deuce and Eva...they are still my favorite characters in this series. And it was amazing how much he is still there for her after all these years. ♥

We get to know a little bit about Preacher's brothers, Joe and Max, but I was left wanting more. Maybe there's been more and I just haven't paid attention to them. Sylvie was also a great addition...I loved what she gave Eva at the end.

Speaking of the end, it was really sad to find out what happened and I could see how it would affect Preacher so greatly. I really hated it.

There's an excerpt for the next book, Undying (Zz's book), unknown release date at this time but hopefully a lot less than three years! It was pretty sweet and I was shocked about who it was! ;)

I'm so sad I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I expected. The start was promising but in the end it was only an okay-read. The story was extremely slow paced and I got tired. The characters were very one dimensional and I didn’t feel the chemistry between Debbie and Damon.

In short:

Madeline Sheehan can put words to paper and come up with a story that is sweet and heartbreaking and hopeful all at the same time. Undeserving was a long time coming and the telling of it was perfect. It was the story of Eva’s parents, Preacher and Wheels, and like her story with Deuce, it wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t clean, but it was theirs. And it was amazing.

Throughout the series, we’ve gotten to know Eva’s father, Preacher, through hers and Deuce’s eyes. We knew that he was the President of the Silver Demons and we knew that he was badass enough to shoot Deuce for kissing Eva when she was a younger girl. But everything else we thought we knew about him was wrong. From the introspective young man he was when he was released from prison to the man that lived his life respected by his club and feared by his enemies, we see the events that shape him into the person he truly was. He was sensitive, ambitious and loyal. And he was a man that loved three women through his life, each there for him at the time when the previous one was taken. His mother Ginny, his love Wheels, and his daughter Eva. This was a story full of emotion and it shouldn’t have been told any other way.

For fans of the Undeniable series, this is a must read. For me, it ended a chapter. With Preacher dying of cancer, it was only fair that we get to hear his story and know about his life before it came to its end. My heart ached for him and Debbie, his little pickpocket and “Hell on Wheels” as he named her. We knew all along that there was no true fairytale ending for Preacher, other than seeing his daughter live her leather-clad ever-after. But we never knew him as a younger man, never knew his struggles. Now we understood. Understood his devotion to Eva, his obligation to Frankie, and we understood Eva’s mother. She wasn’t the junkie that Eva had always been told she had been. She was a young woman, a person with dreams, fears and regrets. Lives had been lived before a five year old Eva had ever met Deuce at Riker’s Island, and we finally got the entire heart breaking tale.

The emotional part of me felt that this should have been the last book in the series. It came to such a beautiful end, laying Preacher to rest and closing a door. However, with the teaser at the end, the rational part of me is practically salivating to get my hands on ZZ’s story next. This story was one long highway stretching through decades and lifetimes, and I’m just not ready to get off this messy and heart-wrenching ride.

Oh man, Oh man, Oh man! I am so blown away! This book was so worth the wait!!

The Undeniable series is my first and still my favorite biker romance series.

This is the gut wrenching, soul quenching love story of Damon "Preacher" Fox and Eva's mom Debbie. I fell in love with this man and their story breaks my heart!

The first half of this book actually felt very different from the previous books. The Undeniable books are known to be raw, gritty and unapologetic. This book actually started out kind of tame. It reads like a nice romance novel of boy meets girl. I really liked seeing this sweet, loving side of Preacher and I loved seeing him and Debbie fall in love.

However as a series of events unfold we understand how Preacher became the cold hearted President of the Silver Demons MC and watch as revenge drives him to turn the MC into a national criminal empire. We then get to see Madeline Sheehan's typical dark and disturbing romance unfold.

This was just plain awesome. You need to read the series in order. This is not a standalone. There is no HEA but you get closure.

Madeline Sheehan please don't let me wait 3 years to read ZZ's story!!!

Madeline Sheehan writes with such eloquence; there were times I forgot I was reading a fictional story. The atmosphere, the feelings, the true depth of her words ... amazing.
I loved this story. It was more than worth the wait.
