Steel Infidels was a five book MC series by Dez Burke. I read all five books together as a boxed set. It was my first experience with the author.

I rated the series as a whole at 4 stars. The individual ratings are included below with each book’s short summary. For the series, it was well written, suspenseful, humorous, serious and a pull at a variety of emotions. Each book was short and I desired more depth and development; however, each was enjoyable and entertaining. I have included the individual summaries below.

Prequel: Safe House, 4 Stars

Safe House was the first book in the series. It was aptly named and it covered a very short period of time. It also served as the introduction to the main storyline. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and having the stage set for the full story.

Flint was a public defender. He had a past in the Steel Infidel MC that he left behind several years prior. His best friend was murdered by a rival MC and he returned for revenge.

Kendra Shaw was a veterinarian. She was one of two in the county, well known and well respected. She also ran an animal rescue - her entire life was devoted to her animals.

Burke provided the introduction then left us with a little cliff hanger to complete the story in book two, Liberated. I would have preferred the entire story in one book but it was well written and developed for the short story it was meant to be.

Book One: Liberated, 3 Stars

Liberated was the continuation of Flint and Kendra’s story. It picked up exactly where the previous book left off. Although the primary plot was the relationship development, the MC conflict was also front and center. I enjoyed the characters as well as the fast paced action. Because it was so short it lacked a few details that I would have loved to have a deeper dive into; otherwise, it was well written and entertaining.

Book Two: Steel Justice, 4 Stars

Steel Justice was Jesse’s story. He was the eldest brother and the MC President. Jesse’s story was my favorite. He was my kind of alpha: strong, protective, smart, fierce, loyal and sexy. I loved Trish most of the time but she had her stupid moments of drama - it made for a good story, but I didn’t care for her logic. But in the end, Burke brought us full circle to her reasoning. I desired more details with the closure of the big conflict but all in all, it was a quick and entertaining read.

Book Three: Thunderclap, 4 Stars

Finally....Sam! Sam was the funny playboy. He was the life of every party with trouble as his middle name.

I was hooked from the beginning. The premise started in one direction and quickly took a turn that I enjoyed. It brought both humor and suspense into the storyline and kept me intrigued; however, I craved more details and depth. Additionally, although Burke included both perspectives, at times it was heavy with Lila’s and I desired more of Sam.

All in all, Sam lived up to his personality and it was a great addition to the series.

Book Four: Take Down, 3.5 Stars

Take Down was Toby’s story. Toby was former military, Sam’s childhood best friend and also a loyal patched member of the MC.

Maggie was a reporter for a large Atlanta news station. She was everything that Toby wasn’t. He was casual, she was formal; He was small town, she was big city. They could not have been more opposite. But when Toby saved Maggie from a near death experience they were linked together forever.

I enjoyed Toby. He was a true alpha hero. I also enjoyed the suspenseful storyline. It kept me intrigued. I wasn’t completely sold on Toby and Maggie as a couple. I desired more development, but it was entertaining none the less.

And true to the series, all MC members and their significant others were focal to the storyline. I enjoyed watching the continued development of past favorites. And OMG - Sam and Lila’s Twins! Hilarious - please have a legacy spinoff!

Each story will draw you in and have you connecting with the heroines along with their alpha bikers as the vanquish their enemies. They are descriptively well written and have you feeling like you are right there as the action unfolds.

Love these boys

I loved this whole series. Sweet southern boys who are hot alpha males is a hit every time. Dez, gives us action and a amazing love story all in each book. I also like the fact that we don't have to really deal with club whores and skanks like most MC books. I love the balance of the MC and family. I am so excited that they are in a box set because I can go back and read them again and again.

Safe House:
The thing about people we look to as family is that not all are blood related. That is the way Flint, Jesse, and Sam look at the Steel Infidels Motorcycle Club. The MC were their brothers. They took them in when they needed a place to go. They would stand by them thru thick and thin. Thru the good and the bad. That is why you know it had to hurt when Flint had turned his back on the MC.

Flint who is a bad boy is an interesting character. He left the MC and got as far away from them as he could. He had become a Public Defender; now tell me you did not chuckle at the thought of that. He was trying to make a good life for himself. After his best friend Tommy’s death, he returned back to his brothers, his family, the MC.

Fate has a way of bring people together that would have never met. Dr. Kendra Shaw who is a vet for the Shaw Vet Clinic and the Shaw Wildlife Center gets suckered in to the drama going on with the Steel Infidels MC and the Liberators. Flint needs a doctor under the radar. Who better the Dr. Shaw herself.

Things get pretty hot and steamy with Flint and Kendra. Trust me it is a story that you will get hooked on and you so do not want to miss out on.

Liberated:
The story of Flint and Kendra continue. The Liberators are coming after them. They are having to leave the safe house and flee for their lives. Kendra life has change so much and she knows she will never be the same. She will do whatever it takes to keep Flint safe.

Flint hates that he has put Kendra’s life in danger. He knows she is too good for him. The question is can he do he make himself let go of the best thing that has ever happen to him? He finds her addicting, but seeing her life in danger is killing him.

Things are still heating up with Kendra and Flint. Flint is hiding his past from Kendra. Thing about hiding the past is it will sooner or later catch up to you. How will Kendra react when she finds out?

Steel Justice:
WOW!!! Awesome book. I think it is best you read the other 2 books in the series before this one. I think it will give you more understanding what happen between the Steel Infidels MC and the Liberators MC. Besides the other two previous books are awesome.

This story is about Jesse who is the President of the Steel Infidels. He is thrilled that his brother had found love. He adores his future sister-in-law. Jesse is trying to get things together to throw his brother a bachelor party. That is where he saw her. The girl of his dreams. It did not matter he was surround by strippers she was perfect to him. Trisha was not going to be easy to get.

Trisha does not have an easy life. Her brother is the VP of the Liberators and did not care what happen to his sister. He was abusive and now was willing to let something really bad happen to her.

Trisha had men hitting on her every night at the bar. They thought for sure she would spread her legs for money, then she saw him. Jesse was breathe taking but she was not willing to just give in to him. Jesse was going to get a run for his money.

There is betrayal and danger for Trisha and Jesse. Sometimes you do not know what you have until it is gone. Will they ever be able to get their lives on track? Will Trisha ever get that feeling of home that she so desires?

Thunderclap:
This has been a wonderful series. I have enjoyed the Mason brothers so much.

Sam Mason was the playboy of the bunch. He loved women and had no plans for settling down anytime soon. He did find he had a love for kids. He loved his nieces and nephews so much. He can see himself down the road with a whole motorcycle club of kids.

Lila worked for the ATF in the Special Agents Division. She was assigned to go undercover to get evidence on the Steel Infidels MC. They had got a tip about illegal activities that the Mason guys were doing. She had studied Sam and he was her target.

Lila did not know what she was getting herself into. She was not looking for these guys to have any good to them, especially Sam. She got to see a side of Sam that most did not get to see. She got to see how he helped people and loved his family, friends, and town.

Sam has plan playing the player. Lila is not fooling him. Sam had not expected to fall for her so hard. Now Sam has plan keeping her. What Sam wants he has plan getting. He has not ever met a girl like Lila and he knows she has feelings for him to. He will do whatever it takes to keep her. I am really surprised of the action he takes to assure just that. Sorry will have to read the book to find out. I know my mouth fell open and it was something I was not expecting. I might have expected it out of Jesse or Flint but not Sam.

Take Down:
WOW…I just love this series. To say which Steel Infidel biker, I liked the most would be hard. They all hold a special place in my heart. This is a standalone so don’t worry if you have not read any of the other books. But let me say this, the previous books are amazing and I would highly recommend you read at some time.

Though the book was about Maggie and Toby we did get to see some of the other previous characters; like Flint, Jesse, Sam, and their wives. We also got to see more of Aunt Leona which I was happy see. That woman is a hoot.

Toby who was a member of the Steel Infidel was sexy as hell. He had the built women craved, was good-looking, and had some sexy tats. My heart truly broke for Toby. He was broken in a million pieces, damaged beyond repair and least that is what he thought. After he came back from Afghanistan he felt like he as a monster and more of a monster after he met Maggie. The suffering that he endured from his PTSD was heart wrenching. You will want to reach in and give him a hug.

The thing about PTSD is it has triggers, anything could trigger it and for Toby it was being at a mall shooting that made it worse. The thing though is if he had not been at the mall at that time then he might not have ever met Maggie.

Maggie who was a reporter was Toby’s fantasy. Maggie probably did not know how much her life was going to change that day. Her life will never be the same. Her and Toby were totally opposites. Where she was a city girl and from money Toby was a country boy that did not care about money. He was a simple man and just needed the basics of life to make him happy.

There is so many good parts in this story and I have so many favorites. I loved Maggie and Toby’s first kiss. The story behind it all was funny. I also loved the cookie story. I have to tell you Aunt Leona is a mess. I need and aunt like her. There was several times Sam cracked me up in the story as well. Oh, and let’s not forget Sadie. I loved when Maggie first heard about Sadie. Oh, and my list can go on and on.

I think the author did such a wonderful job with this story and loved how she truly captured the symptoms, pain, and struggles of PTSD. Though you got this wonderful story you also got the message of how there are people that suffer every day.

Toby in this story was in a dark place. He felt like the monster inside him was pulling him down into the darkness fast. He did not like the man he was becoming. Maggie is his light in the darkness and might just be his strength that he needs to get the help needed.

I have to say I am so happy I got a chance to read this story. It truly is a story I would recommend. FYI, there is a little treat in this book that you will not be expecting.

Five Good books in One Collection

I read each of these books in the collection individually. It is great to see them all together. I really don't like cliffhangers or MC books, but after reading Safe House (which was a cliffhanger), I was hooked on the Steel Infidels.

Liberated
After Safe House, I couldn't wait for the next book. I enjoyed Liberated, and following Flint and Kendra's journey. Two strong, independent characters who would fight to be together in spite of the odds against them. Would love to see more about how their relationship progresses. Even if it is in other books about Flint's brothers, Jesse and Sam. (Hint, hint). Hopefully we will see more about the Steel Infidels. Each book is a quick, enjoyable read.

Steel Justice
The ongoing battle between the Steel Infidels and the Liberators continues. Jesse is determined to put an end to it once and for all. The situation takes another dimension when Jesse finds himself both attracted to and the protector of Trish, who has tires to the Infidels.

Trish and Jesse have great chemistry and provide each other with something they weren't exactly sure they were looking for in their lives. Once again, this book pulls you in from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the last page.

The only thing that bothered me was that Jesse struck me as being clueless, and I didn't expect that from her character. It was slightly surprising.

Thunderclap
I really liked Sam's story. Although, Flint is still my favorite Steel Infidel. I also enjoyed Jesse's story.

Steamy sexy, funny, and sweet. All rolled up in one bundle. I loved the way Sam and Lila's story developed. Sam, knowing Lila was undercover, and Lila thinking the worst of Sam, made you wonder how they were going to work through the crap to get to a relationship. It was a constant struggle for them to remember not to give into the attraction completely because the did not trust each other.

I enjoyed Lila getting in touch with her inner hacker. You have to get the book, and find out what happens next. I am also looking forward to the stories for Toby and Erik.

Takedown
I am not a big fan of MC books, but for some reason, I love the Steel Infidels. You don't need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. You can just read The previous books for the sheer enjoyment of them.

The circumstances under which Toby and Maggie meet are fraught with action and suspense. Toby was somewhat broken by his overseas deployments, and surprisingly, Maggie was strong enough to stand by her man. They also had really intense chemistry.

The guys are not angels by any stretch of the imagination, but they have good hearts and love their wives, families, and each other.

Another fast paced, full of steamy scenes, and entertaining look at the Steel Infidel MC.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy, but, I bought Take down anyway to add to my Steel Infidel collection. Now, you get them all together, no cliffhangers involved!

What an amazing and beautiful bunch of stories, I love that each one was in a duel po which made their stories that much more stronger, their is no way you can't fall in absolute love with this series, and I'm most thankful to the author for sharing her incredible and beautiful story telling gift and talent, and that I as a reader was aloud to take part in this phenomenal journey with these beautiful characters that show you so much hope, strength, courage, kindness, passion, loyalty, compassion, and above all, LOVE. Which makes one helluva series that connects with every emotions a person can have and that's just in book 1, I'm not sure if there is a highest enough rating one can give? so I hope an *Infinite* amount of stars, will help express that this series has no limit to its beauty. I highly recommend this series as a must read, and I look forward to seeing more of "the Steel Infidels" in the future.

Awesome set of books. Gives MC a different outlook.

This is a simply amazing set of books. This was my first set of books by this author and will not be my last. I am glad I bought the box set, I had bought some of them as individual books but having them all together made it so much better.
This MC is different from a lot you read about. They are family, but you do not have the club whores and shanks hanging around the clubhouse. They break rules but not in a way to bring harm to community they live in. They are rough and tough on the outside and have a strong loyalty for each other and the MC but when they find love they fall hard and fast. They each find love and will do anything to protect their women. They are sizzling, hot, alpha males with hearts if gold. You will not be able to put them down and each will leave you wanting more.
Buy this set and you will not be disappointed. You kindle will be on FIRE!! The hotness is just WOW and so is the sex and love.

The Steel Infidels are some majorly hot MC men! Toby, Jesse, Flint, and Sam are all part of this sizzling, suspenseful and action-packed series! I recently read the final story to this amazing set. Toby is being hailed as a hero after saving Maggie. Too bad he doesn't see himself the same way. He feels anguish and battles his self-loathing over things that were out of his control. He and the Steel Infidels are a rough MC family, but they are loyal to each other. Maggie couldn't stay away from Toby. I loved that she was strong willed and had a backbone. Great action and suspense, with a steamy romance! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

One of those series your sorry to see end.

This entire series was really good with characters that were balanced and believable. This last one though was by far the best one. Issues that don't get enough attention, true heroism, deep and soul reaching. Read them all in order.

Good reading.

Well , I'm pretty sure that hunky muscle bound bikers do exist, just no so many in one club. I've known a few in my life and yes many were nice guys with great old ladies , but for the most part they had beer guts , uneven hair and beards and questionable dental hygiene. I' m glad these books portrays them in such a happy way ! Imagination is a good thing.
These books were interesting but were a little redundant with the plots. Also...if you're going to put sex in the books , liven it up , please?! It seemed all the bikers " performed " the same way and had the same physical attributes, junk- wise. Now us ladies know that if you put 15 guys in the same room we would be lucky to discover 1 of them with outstanding size and the ability to use said " junk" in a most pleasing way. Like I said , imagination is a good thing !

The Mason Brothers are HOT!

All of these books in this series are stand alone with no cliff hangers with hea’s.
The men are sexy, tough and irresistible. The women are strong, and beautiful!
The stories are sexy and sweet.

Toby’s story was not as well told or edited. For example the award dinner choice of chicken or pasta became steak that needed cutting with a knife or the reference of a motorcycle gang instead of a club. Also, it felt as though too much emphasis was given to minor things like choosing an outfit or the media milling at the gate to how PTSD was affecting the character. It just didn’t feel the same to me.
Overall though I enjoyed reading this series and will read more of Dez Burke’s books!

Excellent series

A thoroughly enjoyable set of books each one has its own unique romance full of tough rough good looking bikers finding the woman of their dreams. Each guy has their own issues but through it all their motor cycle club is a constant to which they are all incredibly loyal but when love bites they are the best husbands a woman could want and the wives and children become part of the club and are protected by everyone in it. This series might not be as hard and gritty as some biker books but it definitely has hot alpha biker boys and hot feisty females who love them and plenty of red hot sexy action. A genuinely good read.

TSTL Women

You started off with a very strong woman for the first character and now I'm ready to chuck my Kindle for Trish. Now I had to go search for her name because she's that memorable. I can understand being naive but why would an author make her lead character dumb as a post? That's not attractive at all. I'm trying rush through poor Jesse's story, I feel really sorry for him.

P.S. The other stories were good, I just don't do well with TSTL people.

The Steel Infidels

These books were written very well all flowing neatly into the next. All of the characters were described and laid out perfectly. I enjoyed the MC and how in each book you got a bit more of not just the personal lives but of the club as a whole. The writing from both female and male perspective was fantastic and very difficult to do well.

Not my usual choice but very enjoyable

I read a lot and never choose an MC book. But I chose this series and I really enjoyed it. The characters are so colorful and have great heart. I love their toughness, tenderness, and loyalty. Some crude language and graphic sex but it fits the scene. And I love HEA.

Great series

I truly loved every story in this series. Wild, hard living bikers that break all types of laws and party hard. They have reasons for what they do, and huge hearts hidden under their tough outer shell. Meet the women with the strength and willingness to see past their outer looks and see what's truly inside. Looking forward to more.

Sigh....

Beautiful, strong, wrong, but oh so right southern men. Life is all about the gray and these men prove it.
The Old Ladies are special women; strong in their own right unafraid to fight with and beside their men.
We would all be so lucky to have a family unit as strong and loving as this!

Perfect!

These books are very well written. I totally fell in love with every character, Dez gave me enough background on everyone that I feel like they are friends of mine. Tons of twists and turns kept me guessing what was coming next and plenty of happy endings! Would recommend to anyone who loves a little bit of tough guy with a soft heart and a whole lot of steam!!

Great series. Wonderful stories, especially Toby's story. PTSD is so prevalent and I'm glad Dez chose to make Toby part of the series. The love stories caused many butterflies (in several parts of the body) and I loved the flow from book to book! Definitely one of my favorites.
