Linda, a top-level recruitment consultant, finds herself placing her husband's secretary in a new job when Carrie quits out of disgust at his affair. Carrie's new job is at Forever FM, where she will be the researcher on Dublin's newest late-night talk show featuring hot young DJ Maeve. Maeve and her team are determined to do a show that raises serious issues without being sleazy. An impossible goal, according to the station's owner, who just happens to be going out with Linda. Or is he...?
I needed less romance and more radio. This is likely a personal problem, but it wasn't helped by the largely unlikeable characters. Carrie was the only exception, and I finished the book mainly to see whether she'd drop Declan from a tall building without a cushion, then I realized that was because Declan was written so one-sidedly that tension was indeed the high point (ha ha) of the book.
Except.
Their idea for a radio show is fascinating. I bet it actually could work irl, as well.
