2.4 stars. I thought it gave me some new ways to build, and it was pretty nice how it did it. It showed me how to build a wooden house, but how you would in survival mode. It also showed me how to build a medieval home, and how to build trap doors.
++ Contains multiple helpful building tools such as a color wheel (mapped to Minecraft blocks), color palettes, and a figure showing the light levels of different objects. + Gives an overview of Minecraft's biomes and which types of builds match well with each biome. - Building tools presented in the book would be more useful when significantly expanded. E.g., there is a figure that helps players build approximate circles. This would be more useful when generalized to larger sizes and different shapes.
The official Minecraft guide is overall an informative way to learn and improve your creative mode skills. Building things using the valuable information in the guide telling you how to build creations that impress your friends. While still giving inspiration, tips and instructions to construct amazing things like a pro. A part of the book I liked was about banners, because banners are challenging at first to make and design. I enjoyed reading and glancing at the incredible builds by the Mojang team.
This is a good book. I think this because it shows many cool builds that you can do that many people wouldn't have thought of. I rate this 3 star because they only show builds. I also like how they put steps on how to do some of the builds which would also make people think that they can actually do the builds.
Even thought I do not play Minecraft that whole lot anymore, this book helped me expand my view on not only how to build, but also how to master certain stuff in this great game...
