Rate this book
This volume brings together two collections of poetry, the previously published Progress (published to critical acclaim in 1985) and Under Erasure , a new work by one of the major figures of the San Francisco "Language" poetry scene of the 1970s and 1980s. "Progress in writing politics," wrote Andrew Ross of the first work. Robert Creeley noted of "He has done what I had begun to think impossible...made articulate and accessible the decisive activity of our present writing.

I once took a high-level English class taught by Professor Watten. He's a wonderful person, very patient with primitive minds like mine that cannot seem to grasp modernist concepts. He introduced me to amazing authors and poets like Achebe, Bolano, Andre Breton, and Linton Kwesi Johnson. And he's just an all around cool dude. So I feel bad when I give my review: ?!?!?!
